Iron Maiden are the philosophers of metal music. Their work is based on history, philosophy, poetry, or human nature. Some people find it boring because it generally lacks the shredding most people expect....but.... there is a reason they are the tip of the metal pyramid of greatness.
Maiden are secretly sponsored by history and literature teachers worldwide. 😉
Sabaton is 10x better
Red scorpion, I think that was there point. , just cause you have long hair and love it loud doesn't mean you're a person who doesn't think about humanity or reality and history. That shits important
@@gabrielm.942 I like sabaton, but come on.
@@gabrielm.942 Are they gonna be writing valid music in 30 years and touring
The whole Maiden album Somewhere in Time is great. This is a great song too.
Wow... I should down the volume, my neighbors would think I was watching a porno movie... You both feel the music so inside... Good! Nice hat.
By the way, this was the first ever album I bought, back in 1988 and since and forever Maiden is my band.
Greetings from Medellín-Colombia
That's one way to put it
quickly becoming my goto channel for Maiden reactions. Watching this is making me relive my first time hearing these songs. Thanks
Steve Harris writes most of their lyrics he's incredible.
The solo was meant to tell the story of various stages in Alexander's life. From his rise to power, his struggle, his victory, and his downfall.
. Alexander never had a downfall. He died in his bed. His Empire fell to pieces under his successors, after his death.
@@brianferris8668 Man what a badass
Gotta say you are a beautiful couple, and it’s a pleasure to be on your musical journey with you. Iron Maiden are a brilliant band.
Check out some Ronnie James Dio, especially Don’t Talk to Strangers and/or Hungry For Heaven.
All the best to you both.
'Caught Somewhere in time' from the same album is the best track. The studio version is amazing, Iron Maiden at their peak.
Hell yeah their best gallop
Nooo! It`s Wasted years by far!
React to Caught Somewhere In Time by Iron Maiden
That's what I said too and then found out they already have!
Wasted Years from that album also.
The loneliness of the long distance runner
Best fucking album ever
Well, they were somewhere in time when listening to the song in this vid
If you want Epic check out 7th son of a 7th son from Iron Maiden, the guitar work is amazing and it's another epic song from them. So awesome your really discovering Maiden.
mikkael rodiguez Piece of Mind for me. And Hallowed Be Thy Name is for me the greatest song of all time. It can always pick me up if I'm down.
I am thinking maybe... Infinite Dreams from the Seventh Son of a Seventh Son album?
Yes i agree,plus i just subbed
👍
Pachendale guys, its about a soldier's point of view from the trenches of WW1 and has one of the best intro's.
Must to do Paschendale!
Great song that entire album is great too
@@ruthlesskumquat2918 . Great album. A solid fuckin 10. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Bassist Steve Harris is the primary song writer. I’m glad you picked this song, it’s a Metal Symphony just listening to them.
Its awesome to see people enjoy music like you do.
Maybe im not the only one,but i MUST recomend Nightwish Ghost love score live Wacken 2013.
The poet and the pendulum live wembley and The Greatest song on earth live Tampere.
Those songs will take you on a epic emotional journey youll never forget.
It is music played by musical masterminds and the singer Floor Jansen the best singer out there right now.
Great reaction by the way👍👍👍
Greetings from Sweden ❤️🇸🇪
Greetings from Costa Rica.
¡Iron Maiden is my religion!
Eso maeeeeee 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Maiden are the reason that, at 57 years of age, my hair still hangs half way down my back, I still have seven guitars, effects, a PA and a Marshall valve stack in the house, in the hope that some day soon a metal band will reach out for a lead guitarist and vocalist, so I can go back on stage again after 15 years, the way Maiden persuaded me to play my own songs live in front of an audience when I was 18.
And I'm not sorry to say that I love doing a chugging galloping riff a la Maiden. It's not stealing if you learn from the best: it's homage. At every one of countless gigs I did in The Uninvited, and live on Capital Radio in the UK, I never failed to acknowledge my debt to Iron Maiden.
Up The Irons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That album has been playing in my car on my way to work for the past 30 years or so.
Thanks for sharing . Love Kel's reactions
I genuinely am considering if this is the greatest song they ever recorded. The changes in tempo, Bruce's octave leaps, the absolutely premium bass from Steve...It's right up there. God knows I hope we get to hear it live eventually!
Really loving to see these iron maiden react videos!!!! Greetings from Brazil!
When it's a technical song with loads of changes like this I just can't get enough of your facial expressions of shear joy. Just makes me smile all the time.
Judging by some of the reactions, we can say that Maiden definitely gave us all some orgasmic feeling. My favorite band for 25 years now and this song is a masterpiece.
Hi Kel and Rich. I Have been watching your'e great reaction vid's for a few mounts really great work, and a lovely couple.
If I knew Alexander the Great had that effect on the Ladies, I'd of been playing that on a date years ago😉
Mainly composer of the band is bassist and founder/leader Steve Harris. In this particular album they introduced synth guitars and synths .First album i heard when i was 12 and 30 years later still is my desert island album... Somewhere In time god bless Maiden
As Greek this song means a lot in many many ways and its one of the few songs that they have never played it live anywhere in the world
If i can suggest more Maiden songs...Somewhere in time (obviously), Infinite dreams, To Tame a land, where the wild wind blows and The Prisoner...basically any Maiden song is great hehehe...and definately check live versions ...best live band in the world hands down...
And if that helps compared to Hallowed be thy name video ( which i saw before this) the music was lowered in this one ....voice tracks was the same...hope that helps...and dont mind us ...its reaction video...if u wanna scream...scream :)
Keep it up guys...found your channel yesterday...subscribed...and spamming :)
@@amosmontessori No, Alexander The Great have never been played live.
Everything you need to know about Iron Maiden is onstage! They are one of those rare bands, were often the live performance is as good or better than the studio recording. I'm no rabid fan, but it's obvious when you watch their LIVE video's. If you react to any, I would go with your followers recommendations. Love your "shits & giggles," keep em coming. *\m/*
_PS- I won't bore you with my own faves, you get enough suggestions. I suspect they will get covered at some point. You're cranking them out fast, don't get burned out._
Your reactions seem pretty genuine. Hope you guys get big.
Your reactions are never disappointing. Another great Iron Maiden song
As soon as I saw your reaction to rime of the ancient mariner, I knew this one would be coming.
Check out Iron Maiden - "Where Eagles Dare" or "To Tame a Land"... Great reaction Kel-n-Rich. Please keep 'em coming.
Love watching ur reactions, another great one...
I love your complicity. you are two soul mates
It touches us deeply to read that from you, egeo7. Much love back to you. Kel-n-Rich
Every man needs a Kel in their life 🙂
I counted her having three gasms, several minis during the solos then one last mind blowing relaxing one followed with a sigh of relief at the end. Lmao!! It's ok kids,, those songs did the same for us 30 years ago when WE first heard them. 😎
Along with Seventh Son Of a Seventh Son, Rime Of The Ancient Mariner and Nomad, this is my favourite Iron Maiden song. Saw the lads for the first time back in 1980 at the Reading Rock Festival in England (I'm from Belgium). Bass player Steve Harris writes most of the music and lyrics.
A live version to check is The Clansman performed at Rock in Rio. Cheers.

Love your videos, many thanks!
Love you guys....you have only scratched the surface with Maiden.Cannot wait for you to hear more. 🤟🏻🇬🇧 🙌🏻
i watch this reaction a few times. i love maiden since the early 80s
This is definitely one of their BEST songs they have ever had. They keep their metal roots and give you a bit of history in the process.
That opening guitar intro. So badass. Great guitar work. Love this SONG
Up the IRONS

One of my all time favorite songs.

Have a great time at the Maiden concert I've seen them over 20 times amazing amazing shows they put on the absolute best light and Stage Show you'll ever see
I saw them live a lot of times....I only wish, that they will play Alexander live and I will be there, no matter what!
Kel needs to hear "Hall of the Mountain King" by Savatage.
Your channel was not visible to me until today. New subscriber guys!
My history teacher in high school(years ago)started talking about Alex the Great in class. I let him listen to this song on casette during class and he became a Maiden fan that day. 🤘🙂🤘
Great band , great song and great reactions. I can recomanded Paschendale, emontional war story, Revelations 'bout existance and When The Wild Wind Blows 'bout vision of catastrophe.
I'd forgotten about this song but it's really great. I'm on a recommendation rabbit hole and these are cool af
No live versions yet? Oh no no no..... that is a crime. "Live After Death" had me hooked on Maiden instantly. It's an amazing concert video.
Another awesome reaction. I love the way when the harmonys come in we see the expressions on your faces and the love for the riff comes through.... Simply awesome! 😎👌 ....May I recommend by Iron maiden... The Thin line between love and hate.... It is a awesome music journey in 1 song ❤😌👌
As I stated in one of your other Iron Maiden reacts, THE masters of transition.
easily my favorite Iron Maiden song. It is also an absolute blast to play on guitar ! it's so cool, knowing the 'intense' parts of songs, I' m always thinking 'oh how will she react to whats coming next !'
This guitar solo from Dave and Adrien are mind numbing it hits your soul so so deliciously awesome 😎🎸
Love your reactions, it's amazing. It's like I'm in the same room going nuts! You must react to Iron Maiden's The Trooper. This is a mosh pit supernova!
7th Son of a 7th Son...one of the best (if I even dare to rank any Maiden's song)
My favorite Maiden song. Thank you
Iron Maiden not only gives you awesome music, you get a history lesson in almost every song.
In my opinion this was the best lineup for iron maiden. And somewhere in time was a very under rated album. Love your channel too
Pretty cool to watch. I remember when I bought this LP (yeah LP) the first day I could get it at the record shop and listened to this song first.. Since I was such a fan of History, this particular song really knocked me down... I thought the song was winding down when all of a sudden....'A Phrygian King had bound a chariot yoke
And Alexander cut the 'Gordian knot'' I was jumping around my room. Fun to watch the reaction when the song kicks in again.
Such a long song, so smooth. One of my favorites
Perfect lyrics 🤘🎶🎸☮️
Please keep the Maiden going, piece of mind album - "still life" please try !
I love you guys
Just discovered your channel, and I don't know where you live, but North America seems like a pretty good guess. Iron Maiden is going on a North American tour this summer, and given how much you seem to be enjoying them, I _highly_ recommend you check them out live. Their live show is second-to-none, and really will blow you away. I'm going to see 'em in August and the date can't get here fast enough. So if you have the opportunity, check on their website and see if they are playing near you, and if so, do it. You'll have a great time, I promise.
GREAT STUFF!!! NOW "TO TAME A LAND"!!! GREETZ
KEL`S GOT IT!!!
"Aces High"! Fantastic Maiden song!
love that u appreciate maiden, and i agree this is a history lesson. i have actually used this knowledge a couple of times, hehe...
Steve Harris, the bassist reads most of the lyrics and music.
FINALLY! I've seen so many first reactions for the same Iron Maiden and this is the one I've been waiting for. Thank you.
You should also checkout King Diamond "Them"
My favorite Iron Maiden's album and art cover ever.
Fear of the dark live video in Reno unbelievable live performance!
Live in Rio is what I believe you meant up the irons!
Not 4 paragraphs... I haven't had coffee yet! That's when you have to watch out for my crazy rambling! But I love this channel, big Maiden fan and you guys have natural presence and charisma. I often watch -or rewatch with my girlfriend, it's 7am in UK here and only I'm up. Just wanted to say thank you for a great channel 👍🤘
PS: And I just saw more Maiden vids, woohoo!
IRON MAIDEN is in a category all of their own, their contribution to music , is why they are legends in their own time, one of the most respected bands on the globe.
Powerslave: 03:00-05:00 and Alexander the great:04:40-07:10 min best guitar solos on the world.
Agree
When I first started playing bass(1983), I was a die-hard Maiden fan. This is from the last Maiden album I bought ( though I have caught up on Spotify). I love the first 5 albums still the best. By the end of the 80s my playing had me moving on to funk, blues and jazz((though my love of progressive music is still my #1). For me, no matter what genre, you either like a song, or not. There are no guilty pleasures. I may listen to Tears For Fears in the morning, Rush at noon, Gojira at the gym, and Dwight Yoakam that evening....or Porcupine Tree, or Riverside, or Anathema (another gem of a band...they write BEAUTIFUL prog songs despite the name), or The Police.....
Iron Maiden is coming to the US this summer. Do not miss them live, even if you have to get the lawn seats. They put on the best live shows.
"No bad Iron Maiden song!"
Yeah from Serbia! 😎
bed or bad? 😎
Pordravin iz Beca!
@@patmctallica3522 hvala my friend of misery... 💪
I can’t wait to see your Phantom of the opera reaction!
thx good pick❤❤💀❤❤ - - keep Maiden, sometimes is good talk about lyrics😉
Up the Irons...just react to all their songs....they are all amazing!!!
I'm loving it. Think it is fantastic that a couple can dig on maiden and each other. Wife and I have been doing it for 30 years. Have they done flight? UP THE IRONS👊
Love it!
Esa combinación de voz guitarra y mentes maestras para hacer musica te erizan la piel.. adrenalina 100% up the irons
rock on guys ! by the way nice neckalce brother
In my opinion, you can talk as much as you want over the music. It's a reaction after all. For your next Maiden reaction, I'd suggest Dance of Death, as it's a completely different sounding song to the others you've done.
One other thing, you've previously said that you wouldn't do any "cookie monster" stuff. I'm not the biggest fan of that stuff either, but I implore you to check out the song Under the
Red Cloud from Amorphis just as an experiment. The band combines melodic music and great singer who does exceptional clean singing, which he occasionally accentuates with growls. His performances have really sold me on growling as a spice that, when used sparingly, can really improve a song.
You know you've found your PERFECT mate when both of you can sit and get lost in music. Good for you guys. Try looking at the live version of "The Rhythm of the Ancient Mariner"... 2008 I believe! Enjoy.
that´s what I call "eargasm"!!!!!
Kel n Rich .. we love your responses, but UP THE IRONS!! .. sometimes we can barely hear the music even with headphones on .. it's heavy freak'n metal ..
cheers to your song choices and reactions .. keep up the good work!
My favorite band in the world
Alexander the great ....tremendo ..que grande maiden
I love the history lesson in this song.
Best song on Somewhere In Time, an album full of great songs IMO. My fourth favourite Maiden album after Number of the Beast, Powerslave and Piece of Mind.
Rainbow Stargazer ( Dio singing ) Black Sabbath ( Dio singing) Dio don't talk to strangers. You wont be dissapointed
I have this vinyl, is awesome the sound ...
love seeing when you guys get into the music. Recommend Unleash the Archers ... Awakening(full band play through) watch the video with it , you dont have to display it for us but you will want to see what each of the members is doing ;)
The thing about iron maiden is, they know what the subconscious wants. You can drag something out too long and the brain will flick this switch over, making you lose interest. Iron maiden however knows exactly what your brain wants to hear next without you even realizing you wanted to hear that next, and they hit the transition spot on time and time again.
