One of the thing I remember from a month-long visit to Germany a few years ago was how I was able to find some really, really good deals on food at the grocery story. Usually it was stuff that simply had to be sold that day or thrown away, and it was marked down considerably. If you wanted to, you could simply walk to the grocery store every day, buy whatever was on sale, and just make a day's worth of meals out of that. There's just not an equivalent system where I live in the US. Grocers would rather throw food away than to heavily discount it.

Greetings from Australia, wow Jamaica & entire world love you. Let get 500K this wk for Travel Commando. 100% good vibes and continue inspiring the world.
I am a Jamaican American & I just came back to the USA after staying in 🇯🇲 from April to August. I plan to move back there by the end of this year or early next year.
Marwa, you know how to get the best out of people. Awesome! I really love this young lady's vibe. She is so wise beyond her age! We will get her to a 1000 subscriber. And what a beautiful setting - the beautiful Caribbean sea! I am loving this video in Jamaica! "You never live until you're living your dreams." What a statement so true! Enjoy Jamaica! One love ❤!
She is very correct. Europeans especially young people travel on a budget and make it. Backpackers from Europe have been all over Africa for decades. One thing with a lot of black people is we love to fake it unti we make it. There is one brother from the US who does youtube and stays in hostels and I have seen fellow brothers mostly African American clowing him for staying at a hostel. So you can imagine there are many who will actually not travel because they think they have to be in a resort which is not cheap. Last time I was in Jamaica i stayed at a resort costing about $300 per night and next time I will do AirBnB for the local experience.
Yes, you can lengthen your stay if you don't have to pay so much on a hotel. When I visited Ghana I paid $30/night at a hotel. It was small and quaint, but clean, had 3 swimming pools, and breakfast was included. I paid $5 more dollars for dinner which I looked forward to every day. That gave me the opportunity to stay there for 6 weeks!
@@frana.4086 Precisely and its good to share information because everyone has a different price point. Travel should not be seen as a luxury good. The problem is most of our folks dont research enough all or feel like they need a 5 star experience to travel when where you sleep should reall be a small part of the overall epxerience. Good for you.
Stayed in Negril in the "bush" as the locals call it, stayed w a rasta & had the best time ever for only $400 for a month! L❤VE me some 🇯🇲 island. Iam_marwa What Jamaica has compared to other countries is that you can live off the land coconut. Mangoes oranges. Banana plantains. Food provision and other stuff. The list goes on.
Same deal in Africa. At our family home in the city there is sugar cane, grapes, bananas, oranges, mangoes, cucumbers, carrots, vegetables etc. So you can never go hungry.
Love watching your videos, enjoying watching you in my Home Jamaica. Only thing is you should listen more! You get so excited you miss out on what ppl are saying. 1 ❤🇯🇲
Some of the men in the tourist area are pushy and will try to engage a woman in the presence of her man but the woman is responsible for her response and show respect for her man ❤ 🇯🇲
It's not just in the tourist areas, has happened to me a few times in Kingston and the disrespectful nature of some of these guys is why so much crime and violence in the country.
@@4evahodlingdoge226 Jamaican men dont usually do that when you have a man next to you that is evidently your man. Maybe you guys seem like friends instead of lovers.
@@l360b Bro i'm Jamaican and some of these guys just have no manners, it's what happens when you were raised without parents and no disciplined instilled in the household, it has nothing to do with looking like friends.
@@4evahodlingdoge226 I am a Jamaican and i noticed that the only time they do it is if your man move from beside you even for a split second. They dont usually cat call because they never know what someone can pull on them. They will usually tell the guy that their woman looks good and big him up, but they wont approach the woman at the same time the man is next to them. Thats just my experience though, maybe yours is different.
There are tourists that come here just to find a Jamaican man and its the tourist who intiate the sexual interest so dont make us Jamaican men look bad our style just different from the world we can cook clean and take care of ourselves even tho we arnt rich as other countries and those simple traits are a big plus for us and for the tourist i operate a tour company and i listen to the tourist when they tell me there reasons to visit

Not because the minimum wage is a certain amount, doesn't mean everyone is making minimum wage. Also if you in areas that have high demand from international visitors you going to pay more, you can't just compare that with Kenya.
I have been watching for some times now , thank You for Your videos and opening more opportunities for Kenyans and Africans to be inspired by You and that mansion You build is freaking amazing and it is definitely unique in the whole wild world like You said. I want a mansion like that wish Me luck bro. Shots out to You more fortune and greatness to You and to Me also
You should rent the air mattress and tents for the people and maybe they can contribute towards the cost..Because it's to much for the people to come from so far. You can put more than one tent in each bedroom. Get your kitchen completed put furniture in the living room and other things. You really need someone to help you make sure you're guess are comfortable. KO??? ❤❤❤😊😊😊
Great content. I like your videos. One piece of advice I have for you is to learn how to allow people to complete what they are saying before you interject; on several occasions, the lady was explaining something, and you kept interjecting at crucial points. I know its not deliberate because you are passionate about what you do, but please try and be more sensitive and observant. Bless, bro, you are doing a great job.
Minimum Wages in Kenya🇰🇪 remained unchanged at 15,120 KES/Month (104.706 USD/Month) in 2023. JMD13,000.00 per week in $84.00 USD which is $336.00 monthly as of 2023. Jamaican🇯🇲 minimum wage is three times higher than in Kenya🇰🇪
Great video Marwa. The lady really interview very well and kept me watching through to the end of the video. When are you coming to Canada? When you do, make sure to come during the summer, unless you love dealing with cold and snow 😀.
It's called unemployment benefits here in the US. If you work your employer is paying into the unemployment benefit amount so in the event that you cant find a job you can apply to receive benefits from 6 months to a year depending on what state you're from.
People from all over the world travel to Jamaica with their Husbands , Wives , Girlfriend or Boyfriend and they don’t lose their partners Many Singles go to Jamaica just to find a Partner
They may have been a bit dramatic. I have visited Jamaica. I think we get the message which is you have to watch your partner in Jamaica because some of the guys do not care or respect boundaries. Hitting on married women or women accompanied by other men is not tolerated in most countries and could be reasons for a fight which is all unnecessary.

Small world Mogaka! I have a friend from Negril! Now i gotta see his homland for real. One of these days, I'll just wake up and hop it to this big small Island. Thanks Marwa. Kenya to the world! Lotsa ❤ for Jamyka, from Kenya
Lol! Marwa, you a Jamaican mon. Jumping fence and ting 😂 You can't buy anything in a tourist town btw. $3000 for a coffee, one small water and two juices is a rip off. Businesses in tourist towns charge the Jamaican equivalent of US dollars. That looks like a slush juice - those are like $500/600 each in a cafe. You didn't tell us the individual cost for each drink In a local shop or supermarket you could buy bottled fruit juices for about 350 each. Also once you present yourself with an accent or dress touristy you gonna get a 'tourist' price. But no, the prices you're being quoted in Negril, Ocho Rios or Montego Bay will be inflated and is not an authentic reflection of the Jamaican economy although we are having serious inflatin and shrinkflation. Plus we have like anywhere you go in the world, price gougers. So what is happening here is a US pricing and then that's converted to the exchange rate like $150 for $1 US so your final price is gonna be very high. I'm not aware of minimum wage rate across the board for work. Minimum wage is about $10K JMD a week since the last wage increase. But some employers will pay more. Re Jamaican men, in tourist towns and Ive sen this in some African and poor islands you'll find a sex trade which tourism and tourist women have brought here and locals take advantage of it. So there's a Rent-a-Dread phenomenon, big in Negril and those parts. I'm sorry the lady has experienced sexual harassment. Again it's because these are opportunists who feel all tourist women will want a good time. But we have a mix of personalities in Jamaica. You have decent men who would never approach a woman that way. We also decry that sort of behavior. If she was in Kingston and other cities she'd have a different experience. But sexism and sexual harassment is everywhere and is a disease of male socialization. I hope she'll visit other parishes. Negril is really a different parish cultually. It attracts lots of hedonistic people. Each parish has a different vibe. Tourist areas have been corrupted ironically by tourists not the other way around. But this was entertaining and you asked her some great questions. And she shared her perspective base on her experiences. We are not offended. It's her experience.
Mr Peter is talking about that place with all buildings painted in white..it was actually in Santorini, Greece... You interviewed a black woman from Kenya married to a white man and she runs a car hire business. It was around Eleven months ago and a very nice interview you gave her.👍
Jamaica has a special place in my heart as my best friend of 40 years is of Jamaican origin and his daughter is my godchild. I always wanted to visit but never got to it for some reason. Now I have to say I wouldn't be able to afford it. The prices are shocking. That's like London or Swiss levels in a shack by the road. The landscapes are amazing though and the people are kind and it's all irie. Yah man. But sorry Jamaica, mi cyaan afford yuh.

I am loving this video in Jamaica!
"You never live until you're living your dreams." What a statement so true!
Enjoy Jamaica! One love ❤!
I love Jamaica. My favorite Caribbean island. The island is so gorgeous. The food and the music is intoxicating.
She seems like a nice candidate for the 10 grand children Congrats mom is expecting from you Marwa.😊❤
Suppose she can't have any? He meets nice candidates in every country.
W the money saved on accommodation & expensive dinners, we could buy fresh veges & cook daily. Plus visit the whole island West-East & in-between. Def going back soon. Negril & Ocho my favs!❤️🔥🇯🇲🫶🏾

Epic vlogs in Jamaica, biiiiggg UP! 🇯🇲

What Jamaica has compared to other countries is that you can live off the land coconut.

Some of the men in the tourist area are pushy and will try to engage a woman in the presence of her man but the woman is responsible for her response and show respect for her man ❤ 🇯🇲
This can work both ways especially in JA
Love the discussions she is very smart and educated as a young lady I support yall. She will do well with her channel too.
Marwa captures the natural beauty of Negril.[Eclectic friut trees, waters, palm trees, pensiveness, tranquility.] However- the beautiful young lady discourse/interview was immensely interesting and insightful. I like that she had more substance than just her beauty which is an anomaly these days. 1:06:26
How far is the beach (walking time) from "The Gem Negril?" This place looks ideal for folks like me who just wants the "RE'L SALT" experience without the commercialized tourist vibe. Thanks for sharing Marwa...and as the old folks say in Tobago...Walk Good! 🙂
Great video overall and nice gesture to get the other UA-cam channel started.
Always give a chance to your guests to answer your questions or finish their statements.

Shots out to You more fortune and greatness to You and to Me also
The Jamaican accent is so nice
Yeah
Respect bless up
So nice I in love with the Jamaican accent
The like the vibes of the people too.
I love both the Patois language and the accent
My brothers and sister in Kenya we love you come to Jamaica
Yes... Same here is Canada... Paid for up to 1 year.. Maternity leave is up to 18 months..
People from all over the world travel to Jamaica with their Husbands , Wives , Girlfriend or Boyfriend and they don’t lose their partners
Many Singles go to Jamaica just to find a Partner
They may have been a bit dramatic. I have visited Jamaica. I think we get the message which is you have to watch your partner in Jamaica because some of the guys do not care or respect boundaries. Hitting on married women or women accompanied by other men is not tolerated in most countries and could be reasons for a fight which is all unnecessary.
Wives start picking up Jamaicans from the airport ..Yes and that was in 70s Adventure Hotel in PORTMORE was just built
Jamaica is super cool and blessed ❤

I am enjoying your Jamaican series. Excellent video
Hi Marwa, it's one of your subscriber from jamaica living the USA, lovely video can you say what camera are you using to film?
Big up to peter. Such a gentleman.
Marwa i am a silent watcher been watching since 2019 also watched Dee love you guys now the family.😇😇❤💯
Mr Peter is talking about that place with all buildings painted in white..it was actually in Santorini, Greece... You interviewed a black woman from Kenya married to a white man and she runs a car hire business. It was around Eleven months ago and a very nice interview you gave her.👍
You are right. I remember that conversation very well.

Yes, I hope he will visit our country soon! Unfortunately they have reintroduced the visa requirement for some country's. (stupid decision)
