+Greatbad Disagree They're a soul band ... i dont feel that funky listening to them (except on conscious club). I mean that in the way that when I listen to old funkadelic or old brothers johnson, that shit is so heavy. These guys are a little fluffier
Greatbad I enjoy a few tunes (Skymall, Newsboy, Conscious club are notables amongst others- Rango II has such freaking amazing guitar playing) Their production is that of a late 60s mid 70s rock band, tight, juicy lovely, well spaced ... almost like a billy joel or elton john record. sometimes even boston or quincy jones are hinted at. At times they sound like a late night show band (that would be a dank gig for them). they're incredibly solid harmonically and tight as a group (unless they're dubbing, in which they're freaking amazing engineers) But as soulful as they are, something irks me about them as being called a "funk" band in my perception of the word. They have that really close motown feel which is wonderful, but man, they're so polished that i've never heard their drums ever really, move me- they never approach any huge or bumping drum sounds ~ and they have these moments where im like, damn this is really melodically sound but, sometimes it just feels like... cheesy. like elevator music They dont ever get nasty. they never get filthy (or at least, they don't maintain these emotions aside from when Dart is going in on the bass) Even as much as they seemingly draw from prince, i never feel anything "sexy" when I listen to their tunes. (funky duck even feels kind of forced to my ears) Hence I have mixed feelings.
Tones of dance hall disco, funk, motown, rock, Stevie wonder, Frank zappa, the Jackson five, steely Dan, Prince, and so much more all fused into one creative and fresh sound. These guys are unreal.
+Mason Brown spotify didn't even alert me to it being released, i just happened to be listening to my first car at the time, hit the back button in the browser and thrill of the arts had been uploaded.
Never a time goes by that this album doesn't brighten my day. I'm oh-so-very thankful this masterpiece of an album was created. Thank you SO damn much 💓💓💓
This is why I love you guys. I've already bought the album, but putting it up for free lets me share it with my friends so much easier, which increases the chances they'll buy it too! Smart move guys, keep the music coming!
i love how joey dosik's song kinda takes a serious turn, at least a lyrically, so they put a minut long song with DOG BARK samples after it, just so it would turn the listener back to the sillier side of things, like songs which include lyrcis like "you gotta get down to los angeles, cause this year that's where santa is"
The beginning Vulfmedley is fun. Sounds like what you hear from a really good late night comedy show band. I think it's the rock sax style that gives it that feel. Feels like Supertramp with late night show band.
Love this little Vulfpeck album. The intro, "Welcome to Vulf Records", with the reference to "Outro" (another great Vulfpeck song) and that great Vulfpeck tune at the end, is just amazing. "Game Winner" and "Rango II" are also really great songs. Just another great Vulf album.
that moment when you're about to meditate while still being tuned into vulfpeck and you sit down and can't stop smiling and suddenly realize you're tuned into that smile meditation
+ShoroukTV right -- theres something about it that seems intentionally simple and almost even predictable at times, yet beautifully funky and detailed. If i was involved in the songwriting process i feel like I'd be laughing my ass off the whole time
that's probably because they undoubtedly laugh their asses off the whole time remember, good theatre, as Jack put it, is 70% for their own enjoyment and 30% for ours. That means, imagine how much we enjoy it. They enjoy it 2.33333 times more.
They have maxed out their hipster potential, that is for sure. I usually find hipsters intensely annoying, but apparently I'll let a hell of a lot slide in the name of talent, because I simply love these guys.
Glad you guys could make it a full one this time. I was starting to think that you all had some sort of collective finger disease that prevented you from playing more than 25 minutes in one sitting. Good to know that that cleared up. PS. Sad to see that "Call Me Maybe" didn't make it off of the cutting room floor.
Been listening to this non-stop all weekend. You done good. You done real good. Your selection of vocalists are unbelievably smooth, mold together with the music seamlessly. Also- mentioned this in the kickstarter comments but Smile Mediation makes me feel all fuzzy inside. Musical ASMR.
Ohhhhhhhh GOOOOOODDDDD if I could LIKE this 1000 fucking times!!! No, I wanna LOVE this!! Why doesn't this have 10,000,000 LOVES!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ BRAVO VULFPECK, BRAVO!!!! Playing all day, er day!!
Track 4, Rango II, What the fuck, Blake Mills? Who is this fucking guy, and where the fuck can I find him to get some ideas?! This was one of the most unique and musical uses of the guitar that has been utilized for quite a while. Bravo, I hope one day to cross paths with this gentleman. You are a true hero of the 6-string!
8:56 A lot of times people will say a good guitarist is making his instrument sing, even if the guitar playing doesn't sound at all like singing. Blake Mills' guitar literally sounds like it's singing.
Disgusting! Fellow SE MI musician smiling/groovin hard. Heard about you guys a few months ago. Finally hearing the music. Fresh. Ass. Poop. So nice to hear this. Beautiful.
I was playing Game Winner (12:05) today and my girlfriend asked: "What is this guy singing? "Give me the ball, I'll hit the damn wiener?"" I'm crying*** :D:D:D:D
this entire album feels like what a charlie brown soundtrack would be if they all grew up and were in college

Vulfpeck can be used as the Turing test for andriods. If you don't have the funk face when listening to them you are not human.
+Greatbad You mean Voight-Kampff test. But Yeah, absolutely :P.
+Greatbad Disagree
They're a soul band ... i dont feel that funky listening to them (except on conscious club). I mean that in the way that when I listen to old funkadelic or old brothers johnson, that shit is so heavy. These guys are a little fluffier
I've got consistently confused feelings about this band
+Misha Savage (Silky Savage) Can you elaborate?
Greatbad

Vulfpeck, iz like Peck of Vulves. Zey hunt at night, howl at moon. You know. Vulves.
Vulves (m), vulvas (f)?
You run with the vulves ! Shout it out loud !
@@maximef.994 Ha ze times I used to run with the vulves. I knew one going under the name of Alotta. You don't want to get the details.
vov
What would life be without the resonance of Antwaun, the vibrations of Joe Dart and the effortless groove of Vulfpeck.
+Dermot O'Halloran less enriched
Amen!!!
+Dermot O'Halloran slightly worse I suppose
Jack Conant Slightly? Hell, remarkably worse
+Dermot O'Halloran Much less funky, that's for sure.
What a blessing it is to find Vulfpeck now in 2023 with all their music to listen to
Tones of dance hall disco, funk, motown, rock, Stevie wonder, Frank zappa, the Jackson five, steely Dan, Prince, and so much more all fused into one creative and fresh sound. These guys are unreal.
Rango II..... Oh my sweet jesus.
Easily my favorite track
+Mason Brown this album induces so much feels if you know their old stuff haha, its like they mastered their craft
+Mason Brown the slide guitar in that song... WHAT?!
Every day that I've heard a Vulfpeck track for the first time has been the greatest day of my life. This is the greatest day of my life.
1:48 put the goofiest grin on my face. Didn't expect nostalgia out of this. I love this so much. Thankyou for making me happy.
+EliDoingStuff what's it in reference too?
+stopsiqn another song of theirs, if eli means the slowed down sound
+stopsiqn Outro
This is the freshest band I've come across in years.
4:32 "Oh Gee" sings a G

Wow, I feel like a special lucky group. Listening to a new Vulfpeck album only 2 hours after it was uploaded with only 237 views...
+Mason Brown spotify didn't even alert me to it being released, i just happened to be listening to my first car at the time, hit the back button in the browser and thrill of the arts had been uploaded.
+Mason Brown Well that's just like, your opinion, man. And I agree with it.
omg you're so fucking awesomr
Charles Jones and David T. Walker are a great addition, Game Winner is so great.
+Gerrit Beltman Easily one of the best on the album (I think everything on the album is the best)
It's a shame so few people know about Vulfpeck. Some of the most talented musicians I've ever listened to.
+MrJosh6889 QFT
nothing is more vulf than every person on the album having composer credits
Never a time goes by that this album doesn't brighten my day. I'm oh-so-very thankful this masterpiece of an album was created. Thank you SO damn much 💓💓💓
Last track is so great because you know it's just Jack trying not to laugh while making shit up and playing with synth settings that sound like farts.
Took me right up to the end to realise it wasn't meant to be serious
nope
thrill of the farts
You're wrong it's all serious, and it works too!
Vulfpeck is an art
+VendibleUser only one?
+Jonathan Cabot All the art.
+VendibleUser Not just an art, it's the thrill of the arts. huehue
thrill of the (f)arts, according to the end of this album
And "ya can't rush art"
This is why I love you guys. I've already bought the album, but putting it up for free lets me share it with my friends so much easier, which increases the chances they'll buy it too! Smart move guys, keep the music coming!
Finding Vulfpeck in the sea of electronic pop music is a feeling that's impossible to describe
Agreed

"Game Winner" and "Rango II" are also really great songs.
Just another great Vulf album.
This was recommended to me by the algorithm. I didnt know about this band but they sound like angels.
Good bot, algorithm.
Conscious Club & Smile Meditation are my favs
+The RPG Gamer I would say Game Winner and Welcome to Vulf Records
+Kenneth Bonifacio u heard the original game winner by Joey Dosik?
+njdkidd1231 I like the original better.
tyler black same. joey dosik is the man
Smile Meditation reminds me of some George Benson from the late 70's, early 80's.
wow! The intro is epic A.F. Also, there's a lot of unexpected guitar magic Rango II! Great album!!!
watching the music video is amazing as well. just seeing how the guitar goes from an instrument to an object to make sounds on is pretty cool
Give me the ball *swoosh* I'll hit the game winner
u guys r nuts
funk
It's been years and I still get goosebumps/have to do my squinty, turn-my-head stank face.
that moment when you're about to meditate while still being tuned into vulfpeck and you sit down and can't stop smiling and suddenly realize you're tuned into that smile meditation
Game Winner is just... perfect.
The best music of this millennium so far.
Their music somehow feels ironic but yet so good.
+ShoroukTV right -- theres something about it that seems intentionally simple and almost even predictable at times, yet beautifully funky and detailed. If i was involved in the songwriting process i feel like I'd be laughing my ass off the whole time

MINIMALIST FUNK
They have maxed out their hipster potential, that is for sure. I usually find hipsters intensely annoying, but apparently I'll let a hell of a lot slide in the name of talent, because I simply love these guys.
if youre white you have to make funk from a sense of joy and humor
My favorite vulfpeck record so far. It just keeps getting better and better
You know that no one is playing around when you see there's 8 engineers on the album. Superb!
Game Winner is amazing
Excellent album. Recently found these guys and what a find.
Seriously that SWISH @15:00 ... Gets me EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
Best album since Sgt Peppers
This is a solid album. Almost every track has something to offer and is great for coding to. The last track 'detracts', but the others make up for it.
This album is so good... I'm gonna go buy it right now.
Glad you guys could make it a full one this time. I was starting to think that you all had some sort of collective finger disease that prevented you from playing more than 25 minutes in one sitting. Best music I've heard in years, "Vulfpeck" is the name !
All amazing, but game winner is a steady grower!! Singing it in everyones face for past few days.
One of the best music albums ever made by humans
'Game Winner' is so, soooo good. It'd be awesome to see a video
I really can't wait to see the videos for some of these
It's mid February and it's sunny and 60 degrees. Perfect album for a day like today.
Track 4, Rango II, What the fuck, Blake Mills? Who is this fucking guy, and where the fuck can I find him to get some ideas?! Eric James I thought the same thing! So subtle and masterful.
The effortless exterior comes from the genius underneath
LOVE UR Sound ! We wait for U in Paris ;) I've just bought your vinyl collection to mix your sound ! THX for your music dudes.
I've had this album playing on loop for weeks, not a single bad song on here! Why am I not hearing this on the radio?
A very underrated band !

A lot of times people will say a good guitarist is making his instrument sing, even if the guitar playing doesn't sound at all like singing. Blake Mills' guitar literally sounds like it's singing.
That fucking orchestra hit at the beginning. Gets me every god damn time.
lordy... i recognized Blake Mills' slide playing in like 2 seconds. dude has got the golden touch
Disgusting! Fellow SE MI musician smiling/groovin hard. Heard about you guys a few months ago. Finally hearing the music. Fresh. Ass. Poop. So nice to hear this. Beautiful.
I can't stop listening.....
"Feel this new sense a freedom to exist... With ya ass."
still my favourite band you guys rock
mushy krongold sounds like this old german philosopher, and then the second he says "ass" he turns into danny devito and i love it
Gonna get the vinyl discography keep it up guys!
Smile Meditation. There is just the right amount of silliness, the funny kind
You can hear the flute barely mess up in smile meditation at 23:49
Adds a cool little detail to the song, not a bad thing at all
So good to grow with you ! keep thriving!
Listen to them, the funky children of the night. What music they make!
WHAT A GREAT SURPRISE NEW ABLUM WOOOOOOO
Best album of the year.
YOU WIN AGAIN
"VULFPECK"
Well, that's something new and refreshing!
that meditation track is hella soothing
Funky Duck got me biting my lip
Power move on these lyrics. Remove all doubt. I love this song.
+Allan P @12:05 my bad...
wow, the soundeffects at around 26:30 were awesome.
and of course the entire album XD
Legend is once the gods spoke
Let there be funk
And there was funk
this is an amazing album
The first song has such an ELO vibe. Mr. Blue Sky-esque
Thank you for the music. I have nothing else to say.
you guys should come to london you seem to have a big following here!
I was playing Game Winner (12:05) today and my girlfriend asked:
"What is this guy singing? "Give me the ball, I'll hit the damn wiener?""
I'm crying*** :D:D:D:D
That slide guitar on Rango II 😍
My new list! only list!
Every time when I get to the end of Smile Meditations, I think it's my stomach rumbling. lol
