I've said from the start, this game needs wildlife added. Deer or Elk off in a distant field. A Bear along a stream or in the woods. But most importantly, we need a Sasquatch to run across the trail at night. That would be awesome!!! LOL

That's what I hope for. But it's highly doubtful. I do honestly believe there should be some animals in the environment. That would make it much more realistic.

Ive seen the wolf, it stays at the edge of the headlights when you stop and just disappears if you get too close
I have also seen it but it looks pretty small to be a wolf I think it’s a coyote and it has that signature coyote colour light goldish brown
It seems to appear anywhere in the Michigan areas, and is easiest to find if you are just sitting around with the engine off in the night, because if the sprite is there long enough, it even howls.

i could've sworn I've seen a wolf on either michigan or alaska. it was ahead of me in the road as i was driving and as i got closer it disappeared.
Imagine if, for a halloween event or something, they secretly added shadows that walk through the trees at night beside your truck. Just imagine, you're driving in the mud, look out your window, and then see something move in the trees out in the distance. With this game's lack of wildlife and people, that would probably make me turn it off out of fear.

Go to drowned lands maps and go to the abandoned warehouse at night. Switch off lights and see eyes in the dark

good pick ;) also, that place was a gulag, and the mine nearby was probably where those prisoners mined uranium (hence all those radioactivity signs... it would get 3.6 stars rating for perfect vacation :D )...

@@marty2129 I think those are the most common but I've seen them in black river, the other 2 Michigan maps, and some of them on Alaska. haven't seen any on Kovd or Immandra yet though
Those eyes are only visible in Taymyr and in Michigan, but not in as many numbers as in the abandoned warehouse
There are so many creepy easter eggs in this game. I think theres probably enough that you can do a part 2. In the black river town area you can hear a window break and then an alarm go off

In michigan i saw bigfoot and a human figure on the side of the road, that one scared me, ive never pulled a handbrake so hard in my life
The church in black river has a choir singing and creaking boards and also some sounds like someone is trying to escape

The glowing eyes are wolves. This should be common knowledge. I've actually seen them before at night, and also caught one in the day time. It's like a distance thing that is coded in the game, and they only "spawn" after a certain distance. You can tell they're kinda low-res. I would like to see a Sasquatch that spawns randomly , so you actually have to venture out at dark to see him.
More like bioluminescent flowers. I thought wolves too but today I got a picture in drowned lands and they are 100% plants
I use a sight called map runner it’s kinda cheating 😂 but it shows all the wolf sightings on every map they don’t move and they disappear when you get near but still cool if you notice it
And in the new grain woods river map you can see 3 fisher men along the river an a yeti which is pretty cool
they dont spawn anywhere, they are fixed in the same locations and don't move. you can see them in the day too. there's one spot right outside the lumber mill in blackwater where one spawns and you can see it in the day, it just a .png image of a wolf that disappears at a certain distance. i have plenty of good pictures and its really easy to see and kind of an eye sore sometimes but i guess nobody else pays enough attention to the environment they are just looking at the ground a few feet ahead of them the whole time and dont ever look any further so nobody else out there has seen it before i guess. lots of people dont even know its real.
Well i don't think they are since some can be seen further up on elevated areas like oldl roofs and such
The sounds from the tunnel is a Reference to Harry Potter ti is the snake in the pipes that only Harry can understand

Im pretty sure its dead truckers who ran out of fuel before passing all the way through the tunel, back to tell you turn back. Heck during the voices thing i coulda sworn i heard the words, "its not safe" and "turn back"
It also sounds like the ghostly whispers you hear at the graveyard if you die in World of Warcraft.
I don't know why but I busted out laughing when he started beeping his horn in front of the tunnel 😂
It’s interesting how many little details the devs put in to reference darker aspects of the former Soviet Union. Like the old gulag, and those hidden away graveyards seem like a reference to the abandoned graveyards dotted around near Chernobyl.
there's radiation signs occasionally around the map
A lot of the tunnels make that noise. Its wind. Wind in tunnels can sound like voices. Wind cutting through trees in deep woods can do this too. The creepy ambient noise throughout the game, I think, is just to set the mood. You are by yourself, in the middle of nowhere. As for the graveyard, Id guess its in reference to either all the remote villages in Russia from years ago that are forgotten or in reference to gulag deaths. There are quite a few locations in the Russian maps that give off a "gulag/war camp" feel. This game very subtly points out some of Russias darker past moments.
Well, that graveyard belongs either to those abandoned buildings south of the farm, or more likely to the gulag where you get those secure containers for Radioactive Fossils quest (and yeah, it is the one at which you are not alone in the dark... ;) )
Also, the yellow snow next to those footprints is rather telling :D
I swear I saw a huge “thing” fly across the sky somewhere in Michigan I couldn’t tell what it was but it was big. Didn’t look like a glitch either, but suppose it could have been.

I have some cargo floating way up in the sky forever stuck up there I left stuck in the mud and when I got back to that map it was now in the sky. Still there too. Some fuel barrels I'll never be able to deliver. Even with all these updates.....
When i was riding in black river (first location) in the nort forest, i was driving at night and saw 4 shining eyes in the bushes. (Next to eachother) When i got closer they disappeared.

This is a wack thought, but what if those footprints could be the start of clues for next phases, or even possibly for the expansion if there are more easter eggs like this in the new maps in the coming phases. Again, I think its quite wack and not true, but you never know.

In the dam map of michigan being at night in the woods was creepy, you could hear so many noises.

It’s there he’s in the right spot. I saw it coming from the other direction heading for the tunnel. At night your lights and camera has to be in the right angle.

I knew there was voices in the white valley tunnel, i remember using the tunnel at the other side, went to get a snak while the map was loading, when i got back on my seat and put the headset back on i was a little creept out bc i was hearing voices but at the same time i thought it was some weird wind sound effect, now i know that tunnel is just cursed 🙃
For Me, it happened a lot that in the distance a wolf's, or a fox's texture appeared, and when I went closer, it disappeared. But there's an answer to it. In the beta version, there were foxes, and wolves, but the idea was scrapped. Unfortunately the devs accidentally left the fox and wolf 2d model in the game, and that's how players "see" foxes and wolves.
Note that there's a bigger chance to see the model, if you're playing on low graphics.
these kinds of Easter Eggs make sense for the kind of job Snowrunner is emulating. Spend enough time out in the wild, you being to hear or see the odd thing every now and then. It gets picked up by people and becomes old folk tales over time.
I've seen a wolf or fox in Black River near the fuel station closest to the garage. There's also the creepy eyes in Tamyr where you get the secure containers.
I saw the wolf once in that litle road that lead us from the game's very start to the first sawmill in Black River. It was around 2 a.m.
What ? So it's everywhere? Not opening the game again.
I have seen the wolf twice now, once in Black River on the back trail to the lumber yard (It's just standing there looking at you just past the small river that crosses the trail), and once in Smithfield Dam. Scared the hell out of me both times. Also a ton of glowing green eyes on some of the back trails in Black River.
In both cases they show up around sundown, and only appear for a short time after being lit up by your headlights, then they faze out.

5:08 I see a wolf in black river in: when you exit the garage, turn right, then when the paved road turns into dirt, turn left heading to the gas station. Or ( I don’t remember very good) go to the farm ad then head to the fuel station then go straight and eventually you’ll see itRemember to do it on night with lights on. Greetings

The best wolf location is black River Michigan where at the turn off for the warehouse u need to be facing the road to the woods with your engine off and lights on evening is the best time

I've noticed in some parts of wooded maps, sets of glowing eyes. When you back up and shine your lights again, they are gone.
In Taymyr, Drowned lands theres a military warehouse for radioactive materials(theres even a mine nearby).Theres green pairs of eyes in the warehouse, there are some on the gate some in the woods and whend you get close to them they dissapear!

I once saw a 2d dog somewhere near a huge road puddle in Michigan first map.
It's like just a 2d image plane, disappears after a few seconds, i have a sneaking suspicion that it's an easter egg also, or maybe it was the wolf people are talking about.

Those 'footprints' are actually grizzly bear tracks. They're more common in Russia, and it's not rare that they get quite large. And that yellow stuff is, yes, urine.
I've seen the wolf heaps around michigan. There are also green eyes in the bushes when it is night time in michigan
i think the atmosphere of this game is in an apocalypse, the only human left behind is the driver playing around with trucks having hallucinations helping people with jobs, and also the inclusion of disappearing animals in the distance makes more sense he is hallucinating lmao
Don't forget about the green glowing eyes in Russia around that area that had a nuclear fallout
The Spetsnaz is watching you
Well the first day I played I noticed a glowing group of eyes that watched you from the tree line when you look to the left side of the road when going down the paved part of the road that leads you up to the detour you have to go on to avoid the road that’s torn away on black river Michigan. It could be in other maps or maybe even all maps but I remember there being other places on that map I would see them but they were also on that map. When your headlights are pointed away from them you can see them at night or when it’s dusk but when you point your headlights at them they disappear and even driving to where they were at you’ll see nothing but as soon as you take those headlights back off of them they open back up and you can see them again.
I just got this game and know I dont wanna drive at night
I've seen the wolf spawn in the middle of the trail I was driving on. By the time I could make out what it was it had disappeared. I don't think it will show up if you're idle. 🤷♂️
i looked at the mudrunner page on fandom and in trivia it says:
A premise of mixing MudRunner with World War Z game spawned a new IP called John Carpenter's Toxic Commando, the project was known under a codename "BloodRunner", the idea was pitched by SnowRunner's lead producer.
-An easter egg to this game can be found at one of the gateway tunnels in Alaska in SnowRunner, player can hear noises made by the Sludge God from Toxic Commando, known in-game files as Mr. Slime
so maybe they planned a third game but it was cancelled..
snowrunner should have random events at night and things like a ghost ship on the frozen lake, figures in the clouds or even ghost trucks that appear in an instant when driving appear at full speed in the opposite lane, it would make the game a little more "entertaining" so to speak
Honestly, even without all this stuff, the game is creepy on its own but u just don’t notice it. Your all alone, there’s nothing u could really do if you flipped your truck(irl). One of the loading screen tips says that a lot of truck drivers get ptsd. Maybe being alone is why?

Pretty dure your "footprints" represent snow barrows for wolves when it snows. They cover themselves to make a inulated layer. Also explains the wolf calls .

The Wolf appears end of the day when sun is kind of orange... I guess it's the light reflecting in the mud... but it's very similar to a wolf or a big dog looking our direction.. it's creepy hehehe

In Black river Michigan, if you are at a distance and look up at mountain tops/ledges, you can see either a lone wolf or a pack of wolves looking down at you but if you get too close they vanish, Those alone are the reason I looked up easter eggs for this game but no one has uploaded a video of the wolves.

In the small church in Quarry Taymyr, near the watch tower north of the lumber mill, you can hear a singing choir. In Black River town too.
Just bought the game yesterday. Spottet wolfes on multiple occasions. Their eyes shine in a bright yellow but they disapear if you get too close. (Just a 2D image like the mount gordo ghost in gta V)

I think there has been a worldwide natural disaster implied here. Downed power lines, scattered supplies,washed out roads etc. Also did any one else see the yellow snow near the footprints?
The large recessed area near the footprints looks like yellow snow to me...
In lake kovd there’s an abandoned town and I’d you sit and park in it kill engine and all you’ll start to hear knocking from slow to rapid
Don’t forget the radioactive village in Russia with an insane amount of eye staring at you surrounded by wooden fencing
There’s a white wolf in North Port Alaska, it shows up day or night far away but as you get closer is disappears into nothing
They have 2d animals that disappear as you get closer. Also when you honk the horn birds fly from the trees around you. Its not Red Dead 2 but its something!
