If you want more speed less wobble change the tyres to road tyres. I recommend Kenda speedracer. Go for larger back tyres. Bigger fronts too. It will be more of a road quad then. The quad wont corner as well but thats the price you pay. Put your air box lid back on and take your baffle out. At stock I was getting 88mph I'm 20stone. Alternatively go twin pipes power commander new air filter. You should hit over 100mph easy but it will sap your fuel adding these extras.
Hi there I have a raptor 700r 2006 and have a issue with it .the like previously had a 12t front and 38t back sprocket although I changed the front sprocket to a 15t .the bike was running good although I experienced a problem with the bike loosing rev at high speed so I adjusted the tps sensor and the bike came right although when the bike had its previous 12 and 38 set up the speed topped out at around the high 30s around 130. Now with a bigger front sprocket I'd expect to have more speed although now the bike stops at around 114km/h .I've removed the clutch sensor to bypass the top speed limiter although the bike still stops at around 114.The bike has a set of 22s in the back Just to refresh the problem When I had 12t and 38t sprockets and a 21inch tire the quad topped out at 130 above When I added a 15t front sprocket and 22inch tires the bike tops out at 114 The only thing I did in between was set the tps sensor back to specifications of 0.68 as it was on 0.77 and with full throttle around 4.10 Any ideas why my top end is so low
Be careful running with no air box lid without a programmer. The full injection can't keep up with that amount of air increase. That may also be why it was heating up, its leaned out to much. i did this to my 08 and it didn't like it. i put a k&n on and put the cover back on until i do my exhaust and programmer.
One way to check for wobble is have quad on a hard, smooth flat surface, and stand next to quad. Using one hand grab hold left or right handle grip and try to move up and down, like your going to lift the quad. If you feel play it’s your swing arm bearings. Then slightly move front to back with same hand, if there’s play before your tires start to turn, then it’s your steering. No play in any direction then your bearings are good to go. Check using this method frequently after your riding adventure you will be able fix a bearing issue before it goes out. If one tire is just wobbling, get said wheel off the ground and move it back & forth, up & down to check wheel bearings and axle bearings as well. Also spin wheel by hand and you may see out-of-round rim. I would also check lineament of chain and lineament of both sprockets. A common laser pointer works best by holding it next to and on top of chain. A yard stick will work too. When riding and If you smell something strange that’s not oil or rubber or melting plastic, then chances are your brakes are hanging up. Uneven brake pad wear can be caused by improper replacement and/or brake rotor out of shape. Cheap brake rotors can heat up quickly and distort rotor. Riding in mud, sand or dirt will gouge rotor over time, which will be noticeable by grooves on sides of rotors. Disconnecting rev-limiter could cause over rev-ing and may damage the motor, use caution when flying down the road, I’ve seen lots of motors go pop!.
Hey I have a 2017 Raptor 700R and i did a few mods and got mine running 90mph without disabling the rev limiter. I changed my sprockets front 15T rear 36T. I am running HMF Blackout Exhaust with the HMF Optimizer. For more stability I bought the Tusk wheel hub extension not the adaptor that goes over the factory stubs. Also I installed the GYTR air filter and left the air box cover on. I guarantee a quick fast response after these mods. Let me know what you think after you try it.
Huh I put 22 inch rear tires and 23 inch front tires on , K an N air filter, rejetted both carbs, Bills pipe, FMF muffler, 16t front sprocket , 37t rear sprocket, on a 2002 ,and it would run 100 mph and not overheat
My 07 SE with Big 3 (Dasa Duals, FCI, MSD) with 21 inch street tires and 15t sprocket hit 88mph. That's with the rev limiter intact at 1000' elevation. GPS verified on three runs. I did the same test before the 15t and I went from 84 to 88 top speed so +4 mph gain. Where I noticed the biggest difference was on dirt. It hooked better with the 15t.
Careful with that purple power. That stuff can eat threw rubber if you leave it on too long or don't clean it up well. But yeah any degreaser & some magic erasers, even the off brand are a beast at cleaning motor & plastics of grease or wax buildup.

+RaptorMan2016 I have a yfz so mine only hits 72. Stock sprockets but I got a vortex ecu and full exhaust with intake mod. But nice raptor man. I had a 700r before my yfz and I hit 78 at the most
sprockets and gearing aside...taller back tires will increase you overall top speed assuming your have enough ponies to turn them. Just like throwing smaller tires on there decreases your gearing slightly... so theoretically with 22s on there you can do higher top speed than with 18s or 20s bolted on in the rear but it might take the quad longer to get to top speed with the heavier 22s.
+WarWizard Productions that's awesome. I've been working so much I haven't uploaded. I have a trip planned for September 15-18th so expect some real good videos coming soon.
I have the same issue with the rear brake caliper. I was changing the tires to some maxis rzr 2s and when I was rotating the axel I noticed the caliper rubs on the brake in 1 odd spot. It's weird that both of our 2015 Raptor 700s do that.
BuffaloGino hi i hope this helps, i went on a ride and was driving around and went through a puddle. This cooled the rear disc and warped the steel, it caused an uneven surface and disc to be totally ruined
I had the same issue with a front tyre. Chinese tyres need balancing. Oh yer my 2007 does over 95 if you can keep it in a straight line. Need a smooth road though and that's with standard 14/38. I have no idea what engine mods this one is carrying. Definitely exhaust and intake. The PCV has been taken off. The starter stalls for a second so it might be running hi compression. And it doesn't like low octain gas. BUT it's a lot lot quicker than a standard machine.
If the guy bent your rim you would probably feel it going any other speed but it could just be the tread worn uneven like a jeep death wobble or something but it's a beautiful quad I've been looking to get one like that

hey raptor man, do you feel like your front end is extremely stiff? just curious, my 2015 700r feels very stiff and I'm 3 clicks up from the lightest possible setting and I'm 220 lbs just curious what you think? I know they went with a heavier spring for 2015 and 16, my last qaud was a 2005 troy Lee predator and I feel like the front end was alot smoother when it came to choppy stuff.
you know I'm really not sure. I haven't adjusted the springs at all yet, (I'm 270) but I prolly should. As far as the front end bro this is my first raptor so really idk. I do know I need to stiffin up the back to hold my fat ass tho lol when I get on it bitch turns to a low rider lol
Have you removed your baffles in your exhaust if not take a flash light look on your pipe you will see a super restricted baffle there are two inside your exhaust you can remove them with a 2 1/2 lb hammer and a long standard screw driver i did this to mine 16' then put a monster tip on it i recommend getting a fuel controller if you do this though to richen it up a little
nah I tried that. my buddy said there is an adjustment and the axle he did the same thing and he said they are shims inside the carrier that I can adjust
Not bad 82 MPH, and to clean it use Purple Power and a a Tooth Brush. No joke. New tires will be like that at first. Mine was HORRIBLE it was almost not Controllable at all when I first put on my back tires. It's all of those little "Fingers" the molds on the tires once those wear off it will be good, is it almost as if you're riding on Slime?
take a plastic 99 cent store brush like for doing dishes, chop the end off and stick it on an electric drill. works great for cleaning those tight areas. Dawn dish soap mixed really heavy with warm water is the only thing I use on my quads. I have used the purple stuff too works great but it will melt your hands if you get it on you lol.

My fan kicks on quite a bit on mine, it's a 17' just got it about a month ago, is this normal? Every other person I know who owns one it rarely comes on. Idk
- First of all, what's you name bro? - You really wanna get your quad going faster than 82mph? I think it's quite enough for off-road quad (it's not street legal) and crashing at that speed is not that fun (especially with wobbles wheel) :P - It's not dangerous to disable the rev limiter? you can more easily kill your engine, no? - I think I had the same issue that you have with your rear disc brake and I had to replace it with a new one. upload a video of it, it's interesting to see what is all about. - Riding 82mph with shorts and not protection gear?!?! you are a lunatic bro! haha. - I like your quad (;
My name is RaptorMan or you can call me Josh xD Disabling the Rev limiter will cause damage to the valves easier yes, but I don't care lol yes eventually I plan on putting a turbo on this bike so 82mph for me is not good enough. My old 1998 Banshee did 88mph so I would like to see this quad go faster than that. The brake issue sucks really weird.
I hit 79mph I'm 6'1-280 on my 2017 Raptor 700r SE all stock. Does ur fan make a buzz noise when it cranks on to cool of the engine? mines sometimes makes it and sometimes it quiet
Bro unplugging the cable is not enough - You have to jump or solder the connections together. It will let the ECU think it is always in Neutral disabling the 5th Gear limiter. Removing the plug is the same.
I searched all over on the subject. You have to connect the wires together as if youre pressing youre clutch lever continously. The ECU will think its in neutral and disable 5th gear limiter. 85mph is stock speed. Tuned Raptors go faster without limiter.
Also, pulling the airbox lid off is creating a lean condition which is why you are running hotter than usual. I would recommend just leaving it on or putting a fuel controller on it so you don't damage your piston.
I would hate to see something let go in your motor from something so simple. When you order your exhaust (if you order one) just order a big 3 kit from tqsatv, he will map the pc3 or pcv for your quad.
+1 did PCV and FMF slip-on this weekend on my 2016. runs way cooler and tons more power. don't jack around with anything man, do PCV first. just plugging it and flashing it in makes a huge difference.
Sounds like the beads are not seated onto the rims . I had some tires on my 4x4 I had to lube and air up to about 60 psi to get them to seat. I also have a 06 raptor 700 with a 4in extended swing arm . It was 1 of the first ones that had a problem with the fuel pump,it would run rich and flood. They told me I was riding it too slow, meanwhile no one could keep up.lol. I ended up taking the restricker out of the muffler ,had not had any problems since. Its been the best bike I have had.
when I first got the tires back the guy said the had 6psi in each, come to find out there was really 20+psi lol I will give that a try as well. they are great bikes, love mine. thx for the info
no I think the defective fuel pump makes it really rich . So when I removed that baffle it was like I put a controller on it and a pipe. I almost sold it because I was pulling wheelies in 5th gear not trying. after I put the swing arm on it was a totally different bike. Only problem it was harder to turn. Im not a bike tech but im a ase master tech for automotive repair.
no worries my dads got the 2006 700 with the full DMC afterburner exhast system probably one of the loudest and meanest sounding pipes ive ever heard ahah
hey man whats up i have the same raptor it has an full akrapovic exhaust and it it limits at 105 km/h and the gears are to short do you have any social.mefia than we can talk thank you
I hit 87mph stock gearing and big 3 mod .200lbs rider. Also I use engine ice in my 2015 700 I have a vapor trail tech and my temps stay a average 10deg cooler then with regular coolant.
+RaptorMan2016 from what I've read a single exhaust works better on the single port heads. I have gytr intake w/Ehs lid, Ehs racing programmer , fmf power bomb header and fmf power core exhaust and the power gain is extremely noticeable pulls like a freight train.
awe man try this for a smokin' hot machine. drain all the fluids outta your quad it'll be sooo much lighter you'll def hit 90mph. also replace all your wires with the smallest gauge possible to make your computer go into high horsepower mode and your sparkplug will fire hotter.

- Riding 82mph with shorts and not protection gear?!?! you are a lunatic bro! haha.
- I like your quad (;
***** I didn't get from you if it's risky or not for the engine (:
And sorry for my lack of knowledge, but what is big 3?
***** fuel box = Commander 5 for example?
***** tnx for the explanation bro!(:
My name is RaptorMan or you can call me Josh xD Disabling the Rev limiter will cause damage to the valves easier yes, but I don't care lol yes eventually I plan on putting a turbo on this bike so 82mph for me is not good enough. My old 1998 Banshee did 88mph so I would like to see this quad go faster than that. The brake issue sucks really weird.
+RaptorMan2016 Ohh...
ok RaptorMan lol :P
So I can confirm - you're a lunatic haha...
I hit 79mph I'm 6'1-280 on my 2017 Raptor 700r SE all stock. Does ur fan make a buzz noise when it cranks on to cool of the engine? mines sometimes makes it and sometimes it quiet
mine sounds like a quik whistle
RaptorMan preciate it u got a bad ass quad looking to put some new tires like yours for better grip.
tires helped alot!
Bro unplugging the cable is not enough - You have to jump or solder the connections together. It will let the ECU think it is always in Neutral disabling the 5th Gear limiter. Removing the plug is the same.
Pretty sure my 5th gear limiter is gone now
I searched all over on the subject. You have to connect the wires together as if youre pressing youre clutch lever continously. The ECU will think its in neutral and disable 5th gear limiter. 85mph is stock speed. Tuned Raptors go faster without limiter.
Well iam a fat ass lol I'm 260 lbs so 82mph sounds about right
Also, pulling the airbox lid off is creating a lean condition which is why you are running hotter than usual. I would recommend just leaving it on or putting a fuel controller on it so you don't damage your piston.
ok will do thx for the input
I would hate to see something let go in your motor from something so simple. When you order your exhaust (if you order one) just order a big 3 kit from tqsatv, he will map the pc3 or pcv for your quad.
+1 did PCV and FMF slip-on this weekend on my 2016. runs way cooler and tons more power. don't jack around with anything man, do PCV first. just plugging it and flashing it in makes a huge difference.
l have a 2006 raptor 700r I run blue Ice's blue in Color
just bought that too
Any problems with the case saver with the biger sprocket ?
yes had to shave it down alot, might just remove it altogether.
What brand 15t ur using?

yea check my other videos its all on here bro.
Hey has anyone had a problem with their parking brake loosing tension on the 2k16 models like me?
like the actual level on the handlebars? mine is still good
+RaptorMan2016
the tension on the brake itself, mines no longer holds, anyone know how to tighten that back up?
91 Octain they have an youtube video on here i fix mine
Purple power works great for stuff like that
How can i do the rev limiter where is the location
as ive now learned, it doesnt do anything lol
Mind you - Be aware that your Raptor will always start even on Gear - Unless you turn the kill switch to OFF.
it's always started in gear.
What I meant is without pressing the clutch lever.
Oh that's not a big deal really.
Its been the best bike I have had.
when I first got the tires back the guy said the had 6psi in each, come to find out there was really 20+psi lol I will give that a try as well. they are great bikes, love mine. thx for the info
are you running a fuel/ignition controller? I heard if you remove the baffle it will run lean?
no I think the defective fuel pump makes it really rich .
+steve schmittou what brand swing arm and how much, was wanting to extend it as well.
I think it was vdub racing I got a 4 inch but if I did it again I would do a 2 inch . Got it off of ebay
I wonder can you disconnect the same switch on the latest model yfz
hmm not sure. Google it let me know
i tweeted you llok at twitter
You got to do it the same day
my raptor do the same thing its because you ran over something u wont supose to
meaning what exactly? like my axel is messed up?
yea
can u give me a shout out
get a full exhast system to will add some hp and should gain speed
saving up for that now. thx for commenting
no worries my dads got the 2006 700 with the full DMC afterburner exhast system probably one of the loudest and meanest sounding pipes ive ever heard ahah

nah it was clean
Alright
Okie ic
Stock is 14t right?
yes
Will the rev limiter work on a 2019 raptor?
no. didnt work on mine either.
RaptorMan oh ok thanks men do not worth doing it right
Marco ardaya just get the pc5 with timing control
Did u upgrade case saver? And if so what did u get bcuz I want the 15t sproket as well
ua-cam.com/video/5PzJVw8bcQA/v-deo.html
is u going to take the baferler out
nah, just gonna wait till I get my pcv
if I take it out now it will be running too lean
true but its cheaper and if u do it right it would be faster
Nice
thx brother ;)
Sick bike
thx bro!
you have to use purple cleaner it works great
tried. it didnt work.
Did u get anything to clean it with?
Nothing has worked, just going go buy clear cam cover from monster eventually.
Is there anything I can put on to keep it looking new?
@@timellis3336 plastics yes. ua-cam.com/video/_Kg0rxR6rJA/v-deo.html
Ever tried 13/38??
no I prefer higher top speeds.
That's what I run on my LTR450.
I hit 87mph stock gearing and big 3 mod .200lbs rider. Also I use engine ice in my 2015 700 I have a vapor trail tech and my temps stay a average 10deg cooler then with regular coolant.
that's awesome! do u think I should go dual exhaust with the new single exhaust port system? or should I just go single exhaust setup?
+RaptorMan2016 from what I've read a single exhaust works better on the single port heads. I have gytr intake w/Ehs lid, Ehs racing programmer , fmf power bomb header and fmf power core exhaust and the power gain is extremely noticeable pulls like a freight train.
awe man try this for a smokin' hot machine. drain all the fluids outta your quad it'll be sooo much lighter you'll def hit 90mph. also replace all your wires with the smallest gauge possible to make your computer go into high horsepower mode and your sparkplug will fire hotter.
Nice bro. Im going for the raptor 350 im new to a quad so its the best choice i think hahah
