    Correct me if I’m wrong but I though that moving the ball joint back not foward ie. setting A would gain more clearance by pushing the bj back and tilting the spindle back than f which pushes the bj foward and tilts the spindle foward?

    • @Runnin4Tacos
      @Runnin4Tacos  2 роки тому

      It really depends on your setup. If you have an aftermarket bumper then you have a lot of room in the front to play with, that is why we push the caster forward to make more room in the rear. I hope that makes sense.

      @@Runnin4Tacos sorta, I just thought you adjusted it the other way. I have a c4 overland bumper, some sliders and spc, running 315/75r16. Wheel are stock off-road with a spacer, sitting at about -25. Looking to gain more clearance, im on the C setting now and it’s rubbing a bunch. I’ll try going the other way with the bj!

      I have the same problem, i bought it 10 months ago and it makes a squeaking sound. I found where the problem was Which is the bushings holding the spc control arm. Sometimes water gets in there and washes the grease out, you might have to take them out and grease it or put a grease fitting. You welcome

    Interesting, I have 285's and TC UCA's and my caster is super far back. Did I understand correctly that the TC control arms won't allow for the wheel to be pushed forward?

    • @Runnin4Tacos
      @Runnin4Tacos  5 років тому +1

      NebraskaTacoma correct. Total Chaos has no caster adjustment. SPC is the only UCA that is adjustable due to their patent

      @nebraskatacoma4468 5 років тому

    • @lespaulguitarist92

      @@nebraskatacoma4468 it will, that's how the truck is adjusted.. even stock. JBA also sells UCA that has a fix non adjustable high caster built in. I want to keep my truck as close to stock as possible and definitely won't be modifying the body in any way. That said I do want to run a bigger tire than the stock 30s. What is the biggest tire I could run on a stock 2020 Off-Road? It's a double cab long bed. I'd like to upgrade to the matte black 17x7 TRD wheels and step up to a 33 inch tire, but I suspect even that setup would rub somewhere.

    Hows it going Boss! Ordering my Kings today from headstrong. This is my last point of contention, TC or SPC. I love the aesthetic of the TC, but did the SPC give that much better or a set up ? I probably wont go with as big of a tire as your set up, would that have changed your need/want to swap out arms?

    Inch of caster. Cool!

  • @tacoma_jon
    @tacoma_jon 5 років тому +5

    Please don’t take this the wrong way but caster should not be used as an adjustment for tire rub. Caster affects so much more than just where in the wheel well the tire sits. It can and does affect straight line stability of the vehicle and how it turns into and out of corners. I hope your tech is also taking this into account and not just doing this to keep from having tire rub 👍🏻

    • @Runnin4Tacos
      @Runnin4Tacos  5 років тому +1

      jon shearer you're good! I know caster is more than making more tire clearance but for the purpose of this video that's all we talked about. I might have to take it directly to SPC to have the alignment done if a regular alignment shop doesn't know how

    Ditching TC arms? I thought they provide good adjustments numbers plus better for high end coilovers like the kings you have, they’re the best. must’ve been a shitty alignment shop that’s been doing you’re work prior to what you have now.
