Some here say Chicago reminds them of Philadelphia. I don't agree with that at all. I lived in Chicago for 5 years. Chicago may look cleaner overall, especially in Black neighborhoods, but Philly is like a checkerboard. There are trashy neighborhoods in Philly, but lots of really nice, clean neighborhoods in Philadelphia. Most big cities have a downside to it. What surprised me about Chicago is the racial segregation. This affected the social lifestyle in Chicago for me. Chicago is a big city with great architecture and a huge lakefront. The city has several beaches. Lake Michigan is a clean lake, and Chicago people swim in it. In most cities in the African American neighborhoods in the inner-city you'll find a lot of immigrant convenience stores. This is where drugs and crime circulate. If African Americans controlled the economy in their neighborhoods and owned the stores, you would see far less crime.

the chance ain't 0 though
@@brokeadventures9603 Why would anyone think 0? I would not think 0 chance where I live in Appalachia.... though it is cheap by being more depressed without Corporate America getting huge incentives to move here and a reputations for unions back-in-the-day not in a right-to-work state where it effectively prevents most unionization.
Years of Union busting did work going to part-time in union concessions as long as long-time members got full benefits till they retired with pensions. Or they just closed the union grocers and the mostly part time minimum wage ones won with no benefits. Hire and fire for the others for a good portion leaving a chunk of long term ones for non-suing.
We do all the damage to ourselves. Have states provide huge incentives, free taxes and free monies to relocate and gloat how sucessful they are. Yet DID THEY CREATE THE CORPORATION?
Then we wonder why cities got more and more broke when lost tax base from white-flight to lost corporation taxes for th cheaper.... when they need new infrastructure and continued pensions promised decades ago to city workers.... when all had jobs and paid taxes including corporations their share.
Now you move for the cheaper.... then live with disasters as other regions pay thru FEMA to rebuild ya. Cry we are leaving the USA if we do not get our way.... I say peacefully divide and let-the-chips-fall-where-they-may already. I can NEVER understand why guys mostly in the "hoods" will see a car coming and just stand in the road, like you won't hit them, I see it all the time where I'm from here in "da dirty south" SMH
To hate a people so much, but yet you weirdos are always watching and complaining about everything we do 😂

Really, this actually looks like a nice neighborhood. I see black families just hanging out, I don't see gangs or drugs. Maybe this guy is just racist. Or too chickenshit to go to a real gang infested neighborhood
This is some good content man! You drove around the west side of the city on the first nice holiday of the year and gawked at people.I didn't see a damn drug deal or a shooting. Go drive those same couple blocks right now and see a whole lot of nothing.
Exactly! All I saw was black people being in a community. Must be scary to him
You’re going to have a hard time believing this, but jimmy carter once stayed in the guyon hotel - the building at the 2 minute mark. It was rough when he was there back in 1985. He was working on a habitat for humanity project. Gentrification is creeping westward in this area. And there is a hard stop when you reach oak park on the other side. With the green line running through and beautiful Garfield park and the conservatory and gold dome within… it’s not going to be like this forever.
Shit doesn’t even look that bad to be honest
It must be fun traveling across America and seeing all the sights. I love to travel but I've been living like a Hikikomori since 2019 when covid hit, but I'm in the arts so it's not that bad. On the upside I never caught covid. lol
PLANDEMIC wake up
Yet so many claim they can’t find a job. It’s not on the corner!
They not accepting they too busy thinking someone going to steal from the company I do not know if it’s hard getting a job for me and my family that has no background I can image if someone does have one trying get jobs
At the end of the day, all of these people are just normal people. I am Asian American from Chicago and have had friends from the South Side and West Side since childhood. 99% of people everywhere are the same, whether they are rich or poor. Yes there is a lot of crime in these areas but that is a very small percentage of the population that lives there.
Don’t be ghetto. Some culture are better than other.
Those homes at 5:00 are awesome!
All I saw was people out enjoying the weather and the people in their neighborhood.
Charlie Bo is disrespectful
People like him who post these videos with deceptive titles for views and likes are going to get what's coming to them one day 👁️ and I don’t give af about this being his channel I said what I said!
Yes thats is typical in chicago especially in the summertime. Chicago is cold, the winters are long and the summer is short so when the weather breaks people tend to be outside more. This title is very misleading.
Right!! Because 2 people offering to sell you weed means the place is drug infested lol
@@chosenone2472 Stil, Chicago here though a hood by crime stats... does come across far more green with trees and cleaner. Some trash here .... not filthy and I know the city has standard Sweeper street-cleanings even on hood neighborhood streets 2 times a month. This might have been between them and of course with far more people outside. Some more trash can get dropped. Just all the green and NON-ROW HOMES make it far more Nice.
So I do not think Charlieboi did Chicago a injustice. Reading comments... many said cleaner than others and home architecture better.... Do you not agree?
That's Pulaski an Lake right in the beginning 😂
Well, not going to praise someone for driving around. However, im glad you showed it. For those who think its propaganda, it abolutely is, you should go for a refreshing evening walk through that utopia.
This place lacks diversity.
If you mind your own business then you'll be okay.
No it dosen't
That would be Toronto in 2030.
It’s sad because these houses actually look like they could be nice!
Born and raised in Austin neighborhood. Didn’t see any drugs or gang signs. So my question to you as a UA-cam creator, where is your proof?
Section 8 housing. $1500 dollar rims and a $1200 dollar phone.
IT reminds me a lot of the Amish community.
It does
Proverbs 22:4
By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.
The Confederate Generals knew this would happen. Why do you think they pledged their lives, liberty, fortunes and personal honor?
Every neighborhood is not drugged or gang infested. You actually have people for nice polite and just because they're in crowds does not mean trouble
GTA 6 looking good man damn.
Nice video make same video in Englewood and Woodlawn
Why ? Out south boring and lame
Chicago never deserved this.
in Europe it seems blow is the most popular product in what Americans call hoods, is it the same in the US?
in america cities like this the drug of choice is probably crack or heroin.
Meth and fentanyl are scarily popular as well.
sadly pretty much, and overall I'd say Chicago is one of the better cities in terms of layout, public transportation, infrastructure, architecture, etc
Song @4:11 isn’t that a $boys sample?!?
Why do these people just stand on the streets?
How else are you gonna get customers
Trapping
They’re waiting for the bus to pick them up for the evening church services and pot luck dinner
Crack cocaine 30$ a pop prices way to high I’ll get a six pack just as good
There's no hope for Chicago. Send in the military
They're already there just in disguise 😉

It’s crazy how black and white people are so different in racw
They’re not different in race. We all bleed, shit, and breathe the same. They’re different by circumstances, living situations. That was very dumb of you to say that. Please get help
Extremely different.
Whites build.
Blacks destroy.
There’s nothing special about this just people enjoying them self’s
The neighborhood watch program is doin' really well....!!!!!
Juvenile - Set it off
He 12 4 sure 😂😂he just rode down every drug block😂
it didn't look all that "gang and drug infested" to me, just average american people getting by
I live here, trust me it’s gang and drug infested where he was driving.
Why do black areas look like third world countries?? It doesn't even look like $1.00 go through those neighborhoods.
They are 4th world
Looks like you've never been to a third world country, bro. Take all these beautiful people off the streets and these streets would look better than many first world countries lol.
Cuz they’re lazy as 💩
Why do meth infected trailer parks look so damn bad?
there's worse than this in Chicago actually
He drove through the worst parts of the south and west side. There are nice areas on both sides of town.
Seems like whenever it's gets warm in Chicago, people come outside
Nice neighborhoods and houses. If you ever watch Philadelphia, that's where the slums are.
Nice neighborhoods? What are you talking about? Lol. Same crime as Philly, it’s just Philly is dirty.
@@juniorthedon823 Some of the houses are beautiiful. My point is, how much cleaner it is from Philly.
Charlie should have pulled up to Humboldt Park for the PR parade 🇵🇷

haha. My expensive Manhattan neighborhood has a few large handball and tennis courts and they're full everyday with the 50yo dudes in this video. Just drinking beer all day every day. No jobs, no worries, free apartments. I work 12 hour days and pay $4200.
I'm from Chicago Illinois.every state's Westside is hood/ghetto. I'm in California right now Westside and it's hood/ghetto.Everywhere will always be good. But, keep it in mind; there's always money in Tha ghetto.Too Short made a song about it. Leave my people alone. Go film the burb s cooking their meth. If you really need something to do.
Lol only in America do they have convenience stores named liquor, smh.

Pulaski and maypole... Pulaski and lake west end and pulaski.... don't miss it got high there for 20yrs... been clean since 2007.
You forgot west end and Laporte. Washington and kilbourn blue bag spot. Dolphin bags. Heavy d bags. Or west end and karlov.
Madison and pulaski is tha strip 😅
Madison and Pulaski is HORRIBLE. I have to admit that. The only time they cleaned the area up was on election day. They were not even selling drugs that day. I could not believe it.
That's crazy.. I use to get off that L track to cop heroin. That strip is hot as a firecracker.. 24/7. Made it so hard to stay clean. I moved to Missouri and now have 6 years clean. I'll never move back to Chicago
The west side the best side. Everyone bout they money. Just don’t mess wit anyone money or don’t go where you’re not supposed if you don’t know anyone. You’ll be fine
