I was introduced to Mudhoney in 1990 when I lived on Oahu Hawaii by my Hawaiian local punk dude front man for a dysfunctional punk /Thrash band we were in. Gg Allin too.
Good interview! Nice editing, I like how you maximize Mark talking without all this extraneous narration / exposition. It's hilarious and appropriate that he worked at Muzak! Well spoken & talented guy, and great band!
He just wouldn't accept the role, you have to be a liar and a sociopath to be able to give ove the order to kill in war, he couldnt do it, I thonk he does fine as the vocalist and a guitarist for Mudhoney and working at Sub Pop!
I have been to Brementon in Skagit County. I use to live in that homeless shelter in Mount Vernon by the Skagit County railroad station and where the whidbey island County transit stop drops people at the Mount Vernon Railroad station.
Funny story regarding the song, 'Let it Slide' I was a passenger in a car that flippd upside and slid along the road to that song before flipping back over and crashing into the rocks at the side of the road! Wasn't fun but crashing to Mudhoney was kinda badass
Mark looks a lot like Mike IX Williams of EyeHateGod (the vocalist of the New Orleans "Sludge/Doom/Punk Metal" band). They have the same hairstyle and even talk similarly 🤣
Subpop100 came out in 86. Subpop200 from 88 was probably when Everett took notice as we did here in Groningen (I found SP100 in the bargain bins before that). Nirvana and Kurt/Kurdt came also on the radar then. Glitterhouse in Germany was probably the big catalysator in Europe.
Yeah all very well. Have to say Stone & Jeff are the real Seattle sound (going from mother love bone to pearl jam) seeing as Stone is from there and Jeff is from close by(one and a half States over). The more bluesy sound.
The "Seattle sound" can't be attributed to one or two musicians. The beauty of that whole era was the diversity that all added up to pure rock and roll. Mark Arm is as vital and important to the essence of the Seattle sound as Gossard, Ament, Cobain, Staley, Cornell, and the rest.
"Stone and Jeff" are a couple guys who wanted to be pop stars more than anything else, and so they found the only other guy who would come right and openly proclaim it like themselves, Andy Wood. Fair play, pop stars they are indeed. I personally don't care much for Mudhoney or MLB OR Pearl Jam. Haha. Yet here I am. I like all the other stuff, though. Soundgarden, Screaming Trees, Nirvana, Love Battery, Truly, TAD, hell even Blood Circus as long as they're not live. Lol

That’s crazy they started in 88 but they were also playing shows in Germany in 88

I do that a lot too... Ya know? Whenever I'm a little nervous and uncomfortable... You know? It's wild.... You know?
Kurt Cobain also used to say "you know", a lot.

Where did you find this interview? Thanks.
I remember seeing this as an extra on a dvd. I think Mudhoney Live in Berlin, but I'm not sure.

Mark Arm is great...but you know...
Lmao

What do we know? ... I don't think he is a retarded.
When was this made?
Mark is a God
"13:14: We either figured that all the crazy people were totally locked up, or that there was a really good social service."
They were locked up.

I find Mark Arm a bit annoying.
He thinks he is the end voice in what is cool.
He needs to let go of stuff that happened thirty years ago.
