    Mark is correct. "You're Living All Over Me" was initially released while the band was still called "Dinosaur". Although most of the record pressings included the "Jr.", the first few did not. Source: I own one.

      AlternativeGamer99 But Mudhoney was massive back in the early 90’s. They were written about by all the music papers, in the UK at least anyway. A lot of people would have put their money on them being the next big band and not Nirvana.

      I don't think they wanted it.. that was part of the reason green river split up. I heard in an interview that Jeff & stone's ambitious nature was causing a big rift in that band

    Mudhoney made me pick up a guitar. They had the 60's garage / Stooges / Psyche / Punk all wrapped up. I got a fuzz and a wah and that was it. I saw them in 1992 when everything was really hitting. I think I lost my shoe in the pit, but found it after. Thanks dudes! I still play in bands looking for that vibe.

    It's my understanding Mark Arm was in fact the individual who coined the term "grunge" in regards to the Seattle scene. I don't think it's a shameful moniker either. This is stated in the film Hype

    • @raymondhartmeijer9300
      @raymondhartmeijer9300 3 роки тому +1

      @@dmvconartists2542 Yes I think it was Mark Arm who came up with the term for the scene (though the word itself excisted long before), and Bruce Pavitt of Sub Pop started to use it in their promotional output, first for Green River (1987). Then the press picked it up from there. I don't think it was ever ment to represent a musical genre, it was a label for specifically the Seattle scene.
      Kurt Cobain initially used the term ocasionally, but after major labels started to contract "Grunge" bands, (even bands that had no roots in Seattle/WA) the underground scene was over, the word became useless and he distanced Nirvana from it. For a lot of musicians coming from Seattle/WA, the term became a joke.

      they point out Australian bands like the Scientists, Beasts of Bourbon were coined "grunge" and this was in the mid80s. you should be familiar with the Scientists...they are still active and just released a new lp. no band embraced grunge. they made a punk album and abandoned that sound before Nevermind even came out.

    I’m still listening to Alice In Chains and I’m 55. I’ll listen to them to the day I die. Still you get to a point in your life where you stop moving on to new music. Music is generational and the meaning and identity is different for each generation . To me music ended in the late 90s, early 2000s. Cobain could have moved into other forms of music. Like McCarthy forming Wings after the Beatles. I wasn’t meant to be. It was actually Dave Grohl that did so.

    The reason that the punk scene sprang up simultaneously around the world despite the fact these bands could not have even known or heard of each other yet was because the entertainment industry is an asset of military intelligence and it is directed by the CIA. That is why the hail Satan symbol was adopted and never abandoned by the industry, an that is why some of these deaths don't look like suicide or the accidents they tell us. CIA monitors, military intel enforces The infrastructure for these bands to play is put together before they organize the formation of these bands, and you will find military intel connections in a lot of these artist families.

    Personally, I grew up likeing grunge as a teenager, then I eventually grew sick of most of it. A lot of that is anger at Cobain for killing himself and being a herion addict. I think my childhood rock hero was pathetic mostly for killing himself, and for being a feminist. Feminism has no place in my world and I don't respect Cobain for supporting feminism.
