Some of the English celeb references 100% went over your head 🤣 I love dark comedy my best mate in work when we where going for a ciggie break used to go to his car and we would say why and he would say to check Madeline McCann to see if he had fed her 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Old school Jim Jeffries was similar, before he became Jim Jefferies. I met him once when I was drunk and he was doing a gig in a really small town with a crowd of about 90 people, just before he was doing a Glasgow gig. Middle of December and I don't blame him for seeming pretty miserable. He did a damned good performance despite that. Anyway, during the intermission I went out for a fag and he asked if there was anywhere he could get a good curry. I told him a place and said I don't know how good the curry is, but it only just opened 2 weeks ago so you shouldn't get food poisoning. I thought it was quite witty at the time :P
I think Ricky Gervais had it right, when he said "There is no such thing as an offensive joke... There are just jokes that some individuals might find offensive, but that's up to them."
Such a shame that he often repeats tired old jokes, instead of try to push at the boundary. He's called soldiers withy PTSD cowards, but he's never done a single joke about the police or any politician. As "offensive" as he is, he really doesn't take risks!
That's a cop-out. It's basically "the coward's defense", ie. saying something provocative and then deciding whether you "meant" it after-the-fact based on how your audience responds. Little wonder that Gervais vanished like a fart in the breeze with such a lazy approach to his own work.
@@michaelccozens It can be a cop-out, but I think it can be a legitimate defense depending on the context. Jimmy Carr has a pretty easy time defending his jokes as "just jokes" because of the nature of his stand-up. Many comics will do observational stuff, making a serious point in a funny way. When Ricky Gervais does an entire routine mocking a bible story, he obviously thinks the story really is ridiculous. He's making a real point in a funny way. But Jimmy Carr just tells a bunch of individual jokes, nearly all of them offensive. At no point do you get the idea that he means any of them on any level. Then again, if it turns out that Jimmy really is a child molester and murderer with a tiny penis whose girlfriend is an Asian girl he bought of her father, I may have to re-evaluate.
Frankie Boyle is a genius, one of his best jokes or observations was Does anyone else think that Camilla looks like what princess Diana would have looked like after the car crash ! Off the scale offensive and funny 😂
I worked in a school and at the end of term pupils were allowed to "buy" lessons so they didn't have to do school work. The proceeds going to charity. I got the record amount for one lesson when a bunch of senior students paid me to put on a Frankie Boyle video. A female assistant head teach came in to talk to me while it was on...

I agree Tony these Americans with there comedy are snowflakes 🤣 I haven’t heard one American joke that was truly dark humour that I cried laughing about and thought what a great comic. Gary Delaney is another comic with both feet in the Frankie and Jimmy pool LoL, but saying that he also has his feet in Milton Jones' surreal comedy pool as well.
Being offended at humour is not the fault of the comedian. Anyone can be offended at ANYTHING. A listener can CHOOSE to be offended or not. ‘OFFENCE’ is what a person brings upon themselves.
Check out Paul Smith. Very x rated comedian from Liverpool. He basically has conversations with the audience and takes the piss out of them. Nothing is off the table with him and he’s super quick witted. He has his own channel. Would love to see your reaction to him.
We do thrive on dark humour… at a Regimental reunion a few years ago, I happened to bump into a bloke who’d lost both legs in Afghanistan. He was on prosthetic legs which were very ungainly and odd looking. I said to him, “Mate, I always remember you being taller”. There was a sharp intake of breath…a silence…..then he pissed himself laughing! We all got drunk and he wasn’t the only one totally legless that night!
I find some of Frankie's so far theyre almost mean 😂 but some are still funny Yeah Jimmy Carr is the best at offensive jokes I always find them funny even if theyre too far it prob helps that Jimmy is a really nice guy so it comes off as less evil lol
Hi Amanda I love that you have been here long enough to get some of the jokes because you know the people mentioned in them and that there are funny people that do truly make you laugh
It's a difficult call between Frankie Boyle and Jimmy Carr because they both do the same thing but in slightly different ways. Either way, I love the audacity of it, the way they smile while making people cringe. Not many could get away with that and still get an audience.
Frank's jokes are down straight brutal, with no fucks given. He simply doesn't care. Jimmy's are indeed socking, but a bit massaged to not be in the extreme. both are legends when it comes to dark humor.
To be honest, I've been a Frankie Boyle fan for many years and have read some of his books. I think I'd have to choose Frankie for the fun and shock factor - and even some of his innocent jokes are so stupendously funny.
Frankie never wrote any of jimmy's stand up routines. He was the co-head writer for Jimmy's tv shows - Distraction, 8 out of 10 cats & cats does countdown, the dating type one with face in the title and even now occasionally writes for the gameshow thing jimmy hosts... but jimmy writes all his stand up himself.
Chubby Brown is terminally unfunny...otoh, Bernard Manning is a comedy legend...on a side note, I went to the Sandcastle water park in Blackpool with my bird n kids and while mucking around with my daughters, I noticed Roy "chubby" Brown was in there with a young boy......I think, nay hope, it was his grandson......
I went to see Jimmy at the beginning of COVID. He started by mentioning it and asked if there were any old people in. When they cheered, he started waving while saying, "Bye, bye." The whole show was amazing, and they're well over 2 hours, not the one hour you see on the recorded shows. I was crying almost all the way through. I think both Frankie and Jimmy have written jokes for other comedians.
Darkest thing I ever heard was when I was explaining to a friend that the reason a speed camera was installed was because a minibus full of disabled kids had been hit by a lorry and they’d all been killed, he responded, “well every cloud…”
As someone who writes "dark/offensive" jokes, I find that the darker the joke, the funnier it is. I am "that" guy that people have to be warned about at parties... because a joke will just come to my mind, and out of my mouth before I can stop it. But it's FUN to catch people off guard like that. Especially if you're quick witted enough to counter any time they try to shut you up by being offended.
@@melanp4698 Not really, to be honest about it. I don't crack jokes with the intention of hurting someone directly. I'll roast those I know, but I also know they can not only take it, but dish it right back. None of us get offended by that. If someone gets offended by something I said, that's on them. The WORST thing is when someone gets offended on someone else's behalf, that wasn't offended to begin with. That's the most degrading thing you can do to someone. Because you're basically saying that they aren't smart enough to be offended by something, so you'll be offended FOR them.
@@IggyStardust1967 Yes, it seems that there are folks who put more energy into finding new ways to be offended than to be right with the world around them. Sad place to be IMHO. Never to intentionally offend, just as you say - in the right spirit and with those you know are cool. Cheers from Aussie-land - Dave
Jimmy Carr (excepting the whole tax avoidance stuff) is apparently our hardest working comedian. From what I understand he almost never stops doing standup between the TV series he did/does. Some people never really got that Frankie Boyle was always pretty liberal, and maybe he's just got older and not wanted the hassle that comes with the kind of offensive material he used to do, but I honestly think a lot of it had to do with him being kicked off Mock The Week for saying the Queen's pussy was haunted (which was hilarious).
Yes seen Jimmy in concert & only then I noticed.. Yes he does do a lot of gigs. A genius. You think Frankie Boyle was liberal. I think he's always had the filthiest of mouths. Loved seeing Jimmy Carr , so smart & destroys any hecklers in the audience too😂
Correct if you see his list of tour dates on his website its amazing. He does 2 or 3 shows a day in the US sometimes where he goes for a few weeks end Nov- early Dec he does 1500 seat venues and up overthere and then he comes back to the UK doing 500 seats in a small town somewhere he is relentless
When I saw the title I immediately thought of Jimmy Carr and Frankie Boyle, with probably a bit of Jim Jeffries in there as well. I was also surprised to see Tim Minchin, I'd forgotten how savage he can be when he wants to be. She's not British (she's Canadian), but years ago Margaret Cho used to be pretty confronting with her routines, she might be worth looking at if you want to go down that road.
These jokes taken in context of the venue but they are told they are jokes however some of them said outside of a comedy venue could be classes hate speech.
I live in Spain with my German wife, have a Danish friend and used to work with a French team in Brussels. UK humour is a defence mechnisim. We look for the most crass joke for the most horrible event. We then start to talk about it. Others countries just keep silent. We cope better.
Not so sure it's that contrived. If you lived in Glasgow you'd hear it all the time and about anything and certainly not just as a defence mechanism for horrible events.
After 9/11 it took 7 minutes for someone to text me a joke about it. After 7/7 I got a joke text in under 90 seconds, so we are moderately respectful of other countries “tragedies”
You said a lot of people will disagree with you about the shock value ... I disagree with that. Those guys would not be as popular as they are if people did not like that kind of humour. People who say they are offended are just trying to make it look like they are sensitive and caring to others needs. Might have said this before, but years ago I booked to see Jimmy Carr and a female friend of mine said she would never see him again as he makes pedo jokes, and that just is not funny. My answer to her was "Well why have you booked to see Frankie Boyle then?" As I say, most of the offended people are hypocrites because they do enjoy it, but they think it makes them seem like better people if they say they don't.
I prefer Jimmy over Frankie, because Jimmy doesn't target individuals just whole groups. Frankie generally goes for certain famous people [usually talentless front page tabloid fillers] who are currently in the limelight therefore his jokes generate more current shock value but often its like he's just shooting fish in a barrel.
Check out another Brit, Gary Delaney. The skill in the construction of the jokes is epic. You're laughing before you realise you shouldn't be. That's genius.
Frankie used to write for Jimmy, and you can see his influence on Jimmy's career. I wouldn't say dark comedy is an exclusively British thing but I do think we appreciate it more. Don't get me wrong the US has it's fair share of dark comedians like Jim Norton, David Cross, Daniel Tosh, Anthony Jeselnik and that's without even delving into the GOATs. Personally I think it's a coping mechanism against the truly horrible things that happen on a daily basis, and without getting too deep it's a reminder that life is fleeting so enjoy it while you can. Hope you and the family are well, and I can't believe you only recently watch the Harry Enfield Chemist, I could swear you'd done it before. Brilliant sketch, also a pretty spot on South African accent.
Amanda- if you like brutal/offensive British comics, try going back in time to the 70s to the 90s and check out what you can of a comic named Bernard Manning. He is the one who really started it all, northern working men’s club humour. Best wishes from Cornwall, UK!
This video was what got me into Jimmy and Frankie 10 years ago. Although I did eventually lose my taste for edgy jokes and lost interest in Jimmy and only like Frankie because he changed so much over the years. I do remember the shock value being the point and liking the jokes because I knew other people were getting upset. Totally cringy but good times nonetheless.
Frankie Boyle used to be an absolute savage and said he didn't care if he got cancelled... then all sudden turned woke and isnt funny anymore as to Jimmy Carr who even got done for tax avoidance is still a comedic treasure in Britain, the episode of 8 out of 10 cats when Jimmy was the butt of all jokes he faced the music and took it like a man which many would run and hideaway
Kevin Bridges. If you want dark, brutally honest, down to earth humour you can’t get much more so than Scottish comedians. I’ve always loved Frank’s humour he’s always been unashamedly funny. If you like Frankie & Jimmy then definitely check out Kevin too. x
If u haven’t already heard of this bloke, I would highly recommend checking out Gary Delaney! He’s the master of delivering one liners, continuously…some of which could be rather offensive to those soft boiled eggs living amongst us 🙄🤷♂️😜
Hi, British guy here. You’re absolutely right, Frankie Boyle used to write jokes for Jimmy Carr, that’s why their style is so similar. They are, I’d say the most extreme comedians, they push the limits, Frankie more so than Jimmy. I actually prefer Frankie, but that’s mainly because I think comedy is great in a Scottish accent. Where as Jimmy Carr has an accent like mine, and that’s the main reason I prefer Frankie but they are both extremely talented.
😂😂😂 Really loved this - just subscribed to the channel. Haven’t seen it before. I’m assuming Amanda either lives in the U.K. or follows events here. Many of these jokes would probably be lost on most Americans. How many Americans actually know who Richard Hammond, Katie Price, etc are? Not many, I wouldn’t have thought.
I love Jimmy Carr. For one liners and really clever ones, you can’t beat Steven Wright, and also for a really good laugh, have a listen to Australian Carl Barron. He’s brilliant. Nice to meet you Amanda. From Australia 🇦🇺🇺🇸🇬🇧🇦🇺
We've got two, if not more, offensive comedians in France, which are Dieudonné and Michel Leeb. They joke, very badly actually, about jews, black people etceatera... I'm glad you made a new vid. Concerning myself, I draw again because I didn't do so for some times. I wish I could send you some of my artworks through it.
There are many comedians who some may take offence to. Jimmy and Frankie being two. They're great when they want to be and tell the gags well. Another you may want to check out is Gary Delaney who has a fair bit of his, not for TV, stuff on channel here at UA-cam.
What helps my like Jimmy Carr’s dark and offensive humor is in the way he delivers. It’s clear that he’s telling jokes and that these things don’t/aren’t happening. He knows they’re offensive. There are other comedians that say offensive things, but it seems they actually believe that way. It’s those I don’t find funny.
The British humor is way darker than American humor and they are allowed to do way more than we are. If you like these you should really look into more Jimmy Carr Greg Davies in so many more. I've been watching British humor for a couple of years and he just make me roll on the floor they're so great I wish you do more British humor like this😂😂.
Some American comics are just as dark - they just don't go down all too well in America that's all. Bill Hicks was as dark as they come, decades before Carr/Boyle etc, yet he was bigger in the UK than the States. Rightly seen as a genius now, but 30 years too late.
i've cracked innapropriate jokes where all the lads pall bearing with me were laughing and the funeral attendees were looking out of the church to see what was going on
I love Frankie Boyle. I've seen him live twice and he is amazing. I have a disabled son but am still able to laugh at the jokes he makes about disability. It's not personal, if its funny its funny
My mother organised her funeral a few years before she died. When she asked me for my opinion on which coffin to choose I told her to go for the one she preferred because she was only going to do it the once.
The only one that I found offensive, was the Tim Minchin one about Kylie. Purely a personal attack and completely below the belt. (He's better than that)...

I'll add the late, great, Bill Hicks - he was greatly loved by British audiences, the "Revelations" show recorded in London is TOP notch - though he was an American comic. I was lucky enough to catch a show in Austin, Texas a little before he died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 32.
Congratulations on reaching 100,000 subscribers Lady Amanda. Thoroughly deserved & best wishes 👏👏👏👏👏👍
Dark humour is an amazing release and a relief the world we live in today. That's comedy, nothing more!
Sir Les Patterson. No cursing but he doesn’t have to swear, funny as hell.
Swear words are just words
Amanda, there is another comedian, known for his shock value that emerged in the 80s and that's Jerry Sadowitz. He's their predecessor and the granddaddy (and a brilliant magician). But you wont find any clips as theyre removed. But if you do, def. worth a watch. 😅
He was brilliant back in the day. 😂
Sadowitz was hilarious....naughty, naughty, very naughty...
He also has a bittersweet face and goes by the name Ebenezer Goode
@@MrDalevich (ref: his guest appearance in that music video 😉)
Jimmy is a genius at reading the audience. You can watch him give a heads up or softening the joke with reacting to the crowd. Genius.
Some of the English celeb references 100% went over your head 🤣 I love dark comedy my best mate in work when we where going for a ciggie break used to go to his car and we would say why and he would say to check Madeline McCann to see if he had fed her 🤣🤣🤣🤣
absolutely!! this woman looks like she knows the humour but hasn't a clue who jade goody or Madeline McCann is
😆
Proud of my fellow Scotsmen frankie boyle
No one beats Frankie Boyle. He has ZERO filter. 😄😂
lol 😂👍🏻
We saw him live, and several people got up and walked out. What were they expecting to hear? 🤷♀️😂
HAD zero filter - gone mainstream & woke now
Jimmy Carr beats frankie Boyle any day. Jimmys jokes are witty whereas it seems frankie mostly likes to go for shock factor alone
Off the scale offensive and funny 😂
wow! lol
The best thing about these reaction videos is the look on Amanda’s face. Funnier than the jokes.
lol 😂😂
Agreed!
No the jokes are funnier dummy
@@LADYRAEUK i do think you actually understand more of the jokes nowadays, dare i say it becoming less american and gaining a real sense of humour
Glad you can appreciate the black humour that we love, even when we are shocked. I think a lot of Americans would be horrified, which just makes me laugh all the more. 😂
You must not have seen Patrice O’Neil.
I agree Tony these Americans with there comedy are snowflakes 🤣 I haven’t heard one American joke that was truly dark humour that I cried laughing about and thought what a great comic. Dont get me wrong I love Dave Chappell and Chris rock but c’mon man our British comics would outdo them all day every day. I miss Billy Connely as well what a legend! No holds barred when it comes to jokes!
@@connagh11Oh come on, pal. Not all Americans have spirits so brittle that dark humor offends us. Please understand that there is a segment of the population that actively seeks to be offended and/or eagerly take offense on behalf of the party who may well not even be offended😂. They are a small yet exceptionally noisy group, consisting of many sub groups. They are typically members of the liberal or "progressive" populace and do not reflect the feelings of most Americans, no matter what the liberal mainstream media wants you to believe. Gary Delaney is another comic with both feet in the Frankie and Jimmy pool LoL, but saying that he also has his feet in Milton Jones' surreal comedy pool as well.
So he's four-footed?
Being offended at humour is not the fault of the comedian. Anyone can be offended at ANYTHING.
A listener can CHOOSE to be offended or not. ‘OFFENCE’ is what a person brings upon themselves.
Check out Paul Smith. Very x rated comedian from Liverpool. He basically has conversations with the audience and takes the piss out of them. Nothing is off the table with him and he’s super quick witted. He has his own channel. Would love to see your reaction to him.
Morning Amanda. Thanks for kind words, best wishes to you and yours too
None of these are offensive.
Well done on the 100k Amanda🎉
We do thrive on dark humour… at a Regimental reunion a few years ago, I happened to bump into a bloke who’d lost both legs in Afghanistan. He was on prosthetic legs which were very ungainly and odd looking. I said to him, “Mate, I always remember you being taller”. There was a sharp intake of breath…a silence…..then he pissed himself laughing! We all got drunk and he wasn’t the only one totally legless that night!
British military humour… it’s a constant :)

It's a difficult call between Frankie Boyle and Jimmy Carr because they both do the same thing but in slightly different ways. Either way, I love the audacity of it, the way they smile while making people cringe. Not many could get away with that and still get an audience.
I find Frankie gives me slightly more of a shock factor with his jokes than Jimmy, it's a close call though.
Frankie Boyle didn't get away with it that Jordan joke on here, stopped him getting T.V work. He has virtually been cancelled.
Frankie actually writes a lot of content for Jimmy. He mentions it in his book.
The Richard Hammond and Kerry Katona jokes gave us the reaction equivalent of a fake orgasm
Frankie wrote some of Jimmys jokes as a writer in the gameshow 'Distraction' not for his Stand-Up x
Well done on the 100k subs. 👍
Thanks William 😊 hope you’re well
Well done for not getting "offended"
We need more people like you!
Not these millennial / Gen Z wimps
Haha thanks Andy! I wish everyone would just relax 😊
You still need to watch a bit of chubby brown if you want proper offensive material
And Bernard Manning.
@@Your.Uncle.AngMoh or a bit of Eddie booth (love thy neighbour)
They’re on my list 😊
Chubby Brown is terminally unfunny...otoh, Bernard Manning is a comedy legend...on a side note, I went to the Sandcastle water park in Blackpool with my bird n kids and while mucking around with my daughters, I noticed Roy "chubby" Brown was in there with a young boy......I think, nay hope, it was his grandson......
I can't explain how proud I am that most of these are Brits.
The comedians are a riot but Ms Amanda’s Reactions make it PRICELESS!!
😂😂😂
That snort :) she's gone
I went to see Jimmy at the beginning of COVID. He started by mentioning it and asked if there were any old people in. When they cheered, he started waving while saying, "Bye, bye."
The whole show was amazing, and they're well over 2 hours, not the one hour you see on the recorded shows.
I was crying almost all the way through.
I think both Frankie and Jimmy have written jokes for other comedians.
Jimmy is one of my alltime favorites, him and the now sadly deceased Sean Lock are 2 of Britains best comedians!
I agree Sean Lock hood deliver a good “offensive” joke. Especially when working alongside Jimmy.
Sean's "that's a difficult wank" funniest ever! 😂
yeah, Sean was a great comedian with heaps of quick wit. so damn sad he died.
Congratulations on 100k
Darkest thing I ever heard was when I was explaining to a friend that the reason a speed camera was installed was because a minibus full of disabled kids had been hit by a lorry and they’d all been killed, he responded, “well every cloud…”
I suggest Gary Delaney Most ruthless jokes. It’s all the ones that got the most complaints.
Must be hard beimg you in 2023 :(
@@melanp4698 Not really, to be honest about it.
As for dark jokes - I'm not a writer but I always have a ton up my sleeve, ready to cause emotional disruption at zero notice! Never to intentionally offend, just as you say - in the right spirit and with those you know are cool.

@@IggyStardust1967keep being you. Humour is subjective as you like.
Give Milton jones a watch he’s pretty funny especially with his one liners
Perfect humour. Before cancelling was a thing.
Frankie and Jimmy are the most savage uk comedians 😂
Frankie Boyle is like a sanitized Jerry Sadowicz.
Some Anthony Jeselnik can be brutal at times
I’ll have a look!
Ricky Gervais got it spot on when he said " You can make fun of everything or you cant make fun of anything."
As a brit, some of my favourite brit comedians are, the amazing late Sean lock, Roy chubby brown (he's banned from a lot of venues) and micky Flanagan
These jokes taken in context of the venue but they are told they are jokes however some of them said outside of a comedy venue could be classes hate speech.
This doesn’t even include Jimmy’s experimental attempt at writing the MOST offensive joke… which I’m not gonna type out, but I’d say he nailed it.
None of Jimmy's jokes are even mildly offensive
Does the joke start "How do you get a gay man to f a woman?"
Some of the best gags I've heard in a while!! I'm crying laughing...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My answer to her was "Well why have you booked to see Frankie Boyle then?"
As I say, most of the offended people are hypocrites because they do enjoy it, but they think it makes them seem like better people if they say they don't.
Frankie Boyle went from not caring who he offended, to being someone who was offended by everything.
Think Frankie takes it for me but Bottom will always be top spot for comedy…Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson was a top double act
We need more of them. To many snowflakes now.
This kind of comedy is an art form, and most just can't pull it off. Many think they can, but the really can't.

I love frankie and jimmy, legends 🤘🏼
There are a lot more offensive than this. Bernard Manning and Roy Chubby Brown for starters. And Jim Jefferies has got a lot more than this.
Jim Davidson as well, some of his old routines like Chalky 😂
Jimmy just had one of the best talks on Joe Rogan ever. What a great guy.
The different parts to the offensive jokes are amazing, watch them yearly
Amanda, I have friends & family in the States......
They wouldn't get most of this, You do !
Stay in the UK !
Be good & stay safe, you make me smile

Kevin Bridges. If you want dark, brutally honest, down to earth humour you can’t get much more so than Scottish comedians. I’ve always loved Frank’s humour he’s always been unashamedly funny. If you like Frankie & Jimmy then definitely check out Kevin too. x
If u haven’t already heard of this bloke, I would highly recommend checking out Gary Delaney! He’s the master of delivering one liners, continuously…some of which could be rather offensive to those soft boiled eggs living amongst us 🙄🤷♂️😜
Frankie did write forJimmy, but I think that was a long time ago.
I love your snort/laugh. :)
Thank you 😊
Hi, British guy here.
Just about the first second - I jist LOVE your voice. So soothing
Carr has so many awesome shows. Absolutely love it.
Another fave of mine is Jim Jeffries, who also got featured here in a few shorts.
Love it 🤣. Great reaction young lady.❤️🇮🇹🇧🇪

That Jade Goody joke about her having cancer was cruel, but I laughed my head off!
I've heard loads of Frankie's jokes, but the Jade Goody one was the most brutal imo.
It's also more sophisticated than the American counterpart. American humour is rather simple.
