The whole reason for the quality of the solve is a good time. If the solve is good then the quality is good. The solution might suck but can be counteracted either way with tps and the other way around
@memkoe8651 solve is good does NOT equal quality is good. if i have a 25 move solution and get a 4.2 that’s “good” but in order to get a 4.2 on that the quality of the solve would be much worse than what is capable with that solution. so in reality the solve is bad because of missed potential on that given solution, same applies to yiheng on that solve. if he gets a normal quality solve for him (let’s say 12 tps) it’s easily sub 4 and gives him sub 4 bpa.
I loved world record analysis, honestly you should take a dive into Yiheng's second 4.09 WR average cause no one made a video on it and I bet a lot of people would like to see it (including myself). I also loved the length of the video it was really nice. And I 100% agree with the Sub 4 average thing you said, its seems a lot closer than it is to slower cubers because they don't understand the rate of improvement at the highest level. I also agree next WR won't be sub 4
stu and brina both did breakdowns of 4.09 and stu said what i would have anyways so didn’t think it was worth. imma do more of these type of recons for specific solvers I think are interesting (hansen yu analysis coming soon)
Diminishing returns. Breaking any barrier is gonna take so much more effort for an even smaller improvement. But it's still insane to think about how close the time is
I'm pretty late to this but at 25:29 U' R' F R is probably the best for the orange-green slot. I'm sure Yiheng knew that, so based on what he did, I'm guessing he did actually wanna do something cool with the blue-red slot but panicked/miscalculated during inspection
@@cubernikhil914 it’s best for orange green but puts you in an awkward situation going forward, likely forcing a rotation. by doing what he did it’s actually pretty good but he could have optimized it a bit more
@ hmm that’s true I didn’t see anything good after that. Btw idk if you remember but we met at a Massachusetts comp last year. I’m the megaminx table abuse guy lol
Love it. Would you consider reconstructing Xuanyi's 4.32 WR2 average? I saw so many WR recons about Yiheng but very few videos about Xuanyi. People would be very curious to see how their solves compare.
stps is steps per second, where a step is a part of the solving method like cross, f2l pairs etc. Helps show efficiency. Etps is just the executed turns per second, shows turning speed
Thing is with Yiheng I feel like he's the only one that doesn't *need* LL skip to get sub-3. For him, wouldn't easy, mostly pre-planned f2l and LL with either OLL or PLL skip or very easy LL be enough?
@@ethanling314 yea but just to prove the point he gets on sub 3 pace consistently, he could do it full step for sure it’d just have to be a solution like these with easy multi slots and low movecount ergonomic ll
@@dylanmiller5012 I'm nowhere near as high level a solver as you so just one big picture final thought then: are there a greater number of plausible pathways for Yiheng to hit sub-3 single or sub-4 avg atm?
@@ethanling314 sub 3 single yes, sub 4 average no it would need to be something just like this with a high amount of easy starts, multislots, and ergonomic lls, paired with almost perfect execution and lookahead

"time is irrelevant... it's solely the quality of the solve" thank you for this
that‘s a great mindset to have when you have no chance at winning

Thanks, Dylan. It's such a blessing to have you in the cubing community and making these high quality videos

Great analysis!, solve 4's cross broke my brain but fun watch, do more of these for other solvers, would be nice to see
Dilly back at it again
I love it when a ZBLL comes up in a Yiheng analysis, and I know it but he didn't. Made my day...

Bro do you think Anyone other than Yiheng or Xuanyi not from china obviously that will ever get close to The current Records
id say timofei but hes more of an all rounder. teodor is a strong future contender in my opinion
Xuanyi isn't close yet, and if any other prospect isn't comparable to Xuanyi, then I think it's safe to say no.

what if Yiheng is holding back so he can farm money first🫣
His last 4.09 WR Avg had a BPA of 3.98
but he’d had to have counted a 3.69, which is a lot harder than just getting better counting low 4’s and a counting 3
