  • CG and I are in Mexico and currently living in San Miguel de Allende. We were lucky enough to experience The Festival of Our Lord of the Conquest which happens every year in March in San Miguel de Allende. The Festival begins at the crack of dawn and continues all day and into the evening. The Festival of Our lord of the Conquest is a sensory assault of non-stop Indian Cocheros drumming and dancing before the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel and around the centro El Jardin.

We were fortunate to catch some very interesting festivals and events, but there always seems to be something going on (Even as I write this, I can hear fireworks and something going on in the distance across town)

I burned about 500 calories just watching (but gained it back eating half of a scone)

This looks like a lot of fun. I like the fact that so many people were participating instead of watching. The next time you are in Miami check out the king mango parade they have on the 1st Sunday of every year. It's always an amateur event it has a lot of energy and weirdness to it. The parade takes place in Coconut Grove

Energy and weirdness? Sounds like a potentially scary combo!
