One of the great, great bands of the '90s. I have a melancholy feeling everytime I listen to them; one for the passing of them, of Mark, too young; second, for my own loss, the loss of my own youth, remembering being 20 in 1992 and knowing it's long, long gone with no way to get it back as the inexorable march of age continues on (nonetheless a blessing to still be alive) and third, being madly, madly in love with the woman I was with at that time in the 90s. We were blessed though, seeing Morphine live in the flesh 3 times.
Incredibly beautiful. An invocation of the reality that lies beyond dispair, loneliness and desire. The song is delivered with souch beauty that you instinctly know that it speaks of a universal condition of life (feeling abandoned), a longing to again become immersed in the unconditional essence of love and oneness with all of creation. Giving up the things that are impermanent - letting go, letting go.
