Слушал запоем эту песню и Handing on a curtain когда был в штатах в Пенсильвании летом в 2008 году. Очень органично звучала музыка для того места и времени, теперь же превратившаяся в несмываемый тригер.

One of the great, great bands of the '90s. I have a melancholy feeling everytime I listen to them; one for the passing of them, of Mark, too young; second, for my own loss, the loss of my own youth, remembering being 20 in 1992 and knowing it's long, long gone with no way to get it back as the inexorable march of age continues on (nonetheless a blessing to still be alive) and third, being madly, madly in love with the woman I was with at that time in the 90s. We were blessed though, seeing Morphine live in the flesh 3 times.

Incredibly beautiful. An invocation of the reality that lies beyond dispair, loneliness and desire. The song is delivered with souch beauty that you instinctly know that it speaks of a universal condition of life (feeling abandoned), a longing to again become immersed in the unconditional essence of love and oneness with all of creation. Giving up the things that are impermanent - letting go, letting go.

You're the night, Lilah. A little girl lost in the woods.
You're a folk tale, the unexplainable
You're a bedtime story. The one that keeps the curtains closed.
I hope you're waiting for me cause I can make it on my own.
I can make it on my own.
It's too dark to see the landmarks. I don't want your good luck charms.
I hope you're waiting for me across your carpet of stars.
You're the night, Lilah. You're everything that we can't see.
    Lilah, you're the possibility.
You're the bedtime story. The one that keeps the curtains closed.
And I hope you're waiting for me cause I can make it on my own.
I can make it on my own.
Unknown the unlit world of old. You're the sounds I never heard before.
Off the map where the wild things grow. Another world outside my door.
Here I stand I'm all alone. Drive me down the pitch black road.
Lilah you're my only home and I can't make it on my own.
You're a bedtime story. The one that keeps the curtains closed.
And I hope you're waiting for me cause I can make it on my own.
I can make it on my own.
You're the paint can falling off the wall at the door that slams at the end of the hall where the kid rings sounds of basketball. The battle of the earth of the angels. The shifting snow drifts so realistic, so realistic - call you carpet of stars. See there is something in the yard. It's awful dark. With the painted strings, the cross, the good luck charm, the prayer, the extra layer. The group ?

Un toque sobrenatural, dulce y acechante, convertido en caricia inesperada desde otros confines, sentida entre la nuca y la espina dorsal. Lleva la agonía materializada en un sax implorante que aspira y expira a chorros fragmentos de eternidad. You're the paint can falling off the wall , you're the door that slams at the end of the hall where the kid rings sounds of basketball. The battle of the earth of the angels. The shifting snow drifts so realistic, so nihilistic - call you carpet of stars. See there is something in the yard. It's awful dark. With the painted strings, the cross, the good luck charm, the prayer, the extra layer

It’s strange to see this song, which I only ever shared with you, now connected to someone else for you. It used to hold a special place for both of us, and now it feels like just a memory. Funny how things change.

A million seas, a million boats...I floated in myself dreaming you
apart. Never suspecting the cause, never seeing the cure, now the
daemon, now the pure. Within and without, thru dreams of veils, held for
days, alone for years. This song Morphine
