- It is a war that has lasted for one hundred years, and the French have lost nearly every battle. Soon the English and their allies in Burgundy will conquer all of France. The heir to the French monarchy is too cowardly to ascend to the throne. The French army is wounded and tired and has given up all hope. But in the darkest hour, a young peasant girl declares that she intends to save France.

Alright, I totally didn't realize that I could go to Imperial Age, sorry guys, I am still #clearly new, so show mercy :$
Don't worry i think age of kings doesn't really tell in the hints if you can go to a certain age or not but the expansions do tell it if i remember right.
I've played this campaign 4 or 5 times through and never knew that either haha
Yes,you will need those pladin later campaigns.
Come on, it was another of your challenges. #Clearly
TheViperAOC - Age of Empires 2 I was fighting like 2 hrs this battle!
Pro TheViper, beats this campaign mission on Hard difficulty while not aging to Imperial. Respect!
Wait, could I have gone to Imp?
It's good to know Joan of Arc was a mighty warrior that had slain british hardworking female miners with Charlemagne's sword.
6:18 Viper: "Oh, it's one of those super strong wolves."
*maniacal laugh*
Just wait for first scenario of the Mongol campaign, that is a strong wolf
I thought it was a boar might be wrong through :/
o2Tenka That's why I laughed. Also, don't spoil it.
In the Mongol campaign, there's Ornlu the wolf, the 400HP, 20 attack beast that eats your light cav for breakfast, then in the Hun campaign there's the Iron Boar, the 900 food beast that eats villagers trying to eat it.
I am interested to see what TheViper chooses at the beginning of the Hunnic campaign.
Wrong title!!
*NO IMP CHALLENGE*
Who needs the imperial age? Not theViper, thats for sure
Pro players don't go imp.
y go imp when you can spend those ressources on more castle age units 11
"It's one of those super strong wolves." - You ain't see nothing yet!
using joan to fight pikeman NotLikeThis
You have to look at the sketch of the map during the last part of the intro. It tells you where your enemies are and important landmarks like the crossings in this map. Okay, now I can continue watching :D
Edit1: GO IMP YOURSELF MAAAAAAAAAAAAN
Edit2: GOOD JOOOB! students of william wallace don't need imperial age
"My throat is a bit sore and dry" I totally heard my sword is a little dry there. La Vipere!
Very impressive. You are fun to watch. I've managed to get one step ahead, makes it even more fun. First I do my hour long exercise in timidity, then I watch you balls thru in 30 min, LOL. I'm loving this series. Joan was my favourite scenario, but I never went back to do it again till now.
Haha, cool, it's awesome that people play this along with me, kind of, to compare!
I'll definitely play along Saladin, I never liked Joan campaing though, so now I'm playing the African campaigns. Unfortunately, the common theme of many of the new campaign missions is scripted annoying unit spam.
I hope you will jump on the expansion campaigns eventually, because I'd like to see you beat the bullshit of Ethiopian first mission on Hard. The AI spams massive armies that appear faster than I managed to kill them, even after restarting and taking out 2 out of 4 unit spawns before capturing your village (which triggers the spam; you can take out the spawns with gaia units that you find on the map).
I'd like to see how you do it with your skills and not just laming the mission with the backdoor they provided like I did. think I didn't manage to get my pop over 35 in my attempts to hold the base.
But that's a thing to consider in a couple of months, I think that everyone enjoys watching the classic AoK campaigns the most.
Genghis Khan was my favorite as a kid, Saladin was my brother's. Like they were "mine" and "his" campaigns. Can't wait to see you play the vs. Persia + Subotai.
La Hire was the shit too, haha
I love deadly corps of horse archers!
it took me 2 hours....dnt even knw why...
Just beat this for the first time on normal. I built up a castle as fast as possible at the western river crossing, produced 5 petards and sent them alone into Chalon's TC. Quick defeat on them. Then I moved some of my villagers up to Chalon and built a second TC and castle there. Produced 5 more petards and a dock, then sent them via transport ship to the wall of Troyes. You can unload behind the wall and like Chalon, the petards will go straight for the TC without delay. Troyes down. The hardest part was Rheims since it is more fortified and you get more troops intercepting, but with a few groups of petards and it went down fairly easy too. I had also gone up to Imperial, built up a sizable army of Paladins and trebs but that effort was a waste in this particular scenario.
Some things about the AI in campaigns. They always build with a single villager. If that villager gets hit (not even killed) they'll delete what they're building and either try to build elsewhere or go back to what they're doing. If the vil does die, the AI often assigns another villager to try and build that same building somewhere else.
When you complete an objective and the AI resigns, all the military buildings and units get automatically deleted, it's not completely instant, usually a few seconds.
Just like me as noob
so i should just stand there and kill villagers one by one
The next episode will be really interesting, Im expecting at least 2 tries :)
Yeah, I'm convinced that unless you exploit the AI by luring them out with hero units, it's damn near impossible. When I finally did it, it's because I used Jean de Lorrain (The Hero Bombard Cannon unit) to scout ahead, and so long as they weren't Longbowmen (which the cannon can kill with not too much trouble) I could avoid them.
it is very hard indeed i was suprised by how hard it was to pull off, you really need to optimize the use of every unit, it good fun to try though.
Made it first time I tried it. Barely made it, but still made it.
There is worse. For Viper, this could be a challenge or piece of cake, there is no way to tell.
Little piece of advice for the Viper: you don't need to level the cities in the next map either ;)
Izelle Ts on hard?
Oh, yeah. No. Forgot about that ^^"
Nice to see, that your campaign videos are getting longer :D
You know, you can't make sure that Jeanne doesn't die forever...
My impression is that in most campaigns, most enemies won't attack you (at least for some time) unless attacked/scouted. So I think it would be better for you to wait a bit more before advancing on the map (e.g. get more army before scouting yellow's base).
The Viper: "Oh wait, they're trebbing me?!
Better lay down a mining camp"
Congrats on another cool episode! I think it really adds to the show to let Joan fight with the army! Keep it up!
TheViper may be new to campaign but the bastard still rolls through in half an hour :3
Man I'm such noob in this game I decided to play this again and it took me 3 f***ing hours to beat this level, amazing to see you beat it in half an hour.
When i watch viper playing age of empires , i feel like im watching Bob Ross painting.
Ikr, he seems so casual but it comes out being awesome
You can hit the orange TC with galleys without having to go past yellow first, that's what the tip about the water is about.
Coming up to the Paris mission now, that's one I'm looking forward to!
Best line in the game
"CHARGE!!!!"
Just made myself a sandwich and Viper uploads this... Life is great!
JUst wait until you go to school tomorrow in the morning then talk to me about that life is great.
How can you not like Roxas? Srry man, no school for me anymore... Still gotta go to work though.
Can't wait for some of the conquerors campaigns =)
One of the best series!
TheNr1CoD4pro Yeah, i have never played any campaigns after the aoc ones. After his vids on them i might try them.
Great video again viper! I`m already excited for the next one as it is actually really hard to complete!
That moment when n1 player takes 1 minute to notice that he has trebs destroying his castle, even though he is looking at the castle taking hits 11
In French pronounciation: "la Vipère" vithout typically "aï" on "i". "Je m'appelle" was perfect, thank you for interest in French language.
Troyes=troa (it was almost that).
Just as i made some tea, viper uploads a video. What a wonderful day :)
my boy, thank you for uploading
really enjoying this series. cant wait till you do the age of rajas scenarios
great series :)
haha its awesome learning so quickly, truly appreciative of the videos. Although I've been playing ahead, and I must say I can't wait for you to play Jihad, its beaten me 5 times straight now, i'm tilted.
This'll sound ridiculous, but I'd be very interested to see if you could do the next one in one hit. Not to disparage your abilities, but The Siege of Paris is the most aggravating mission in all of the original campaigns by a long mile. Not even Barbarossa's March (Really quite an easy mission, honestly) or The Lion and the Demon (Which so long as you rush Jerusalem from the getgo and get straight onto Richard's camp isn't so bad) can compare.
It's not just that you don't get Post-Imp upgrades, it's that you get no monks. The only way I managed to beat it was by using my hero units incredibly carefully to slowly draw them out one by one, kill them, let them heal, rinse and repeat. I have no clue how you're meant to do it otherwise (Or how you're meant to be able to survive the Burgundian charge in the end).
cant wait for the last mission of this campaign
Wouah Viper, you spoke french very well :) keep doing your great job !
7:13: Next time better pay more attention to the intro. At 1:11 you get to see the fully scouted map!
As I saw another guy mention the hint about water is because a couple war galleys could actually kill the orange tc while you focus elsewhere. Easy way to get rid of one.
Tip of the day Vipe, whenever playing on single player scenario, check whether you have access to Imp. Every time when the scenario starts. It'll be useful at crucial times :D :P
Thanks for the video btw :)
3:50 the moonwalking knight is strong in this video
When they said to take the water, I think it means to build three or four demolition ships to annihilate longbowmen that try to cross the river. :D
Dude, I´m in love with your voice x)
One of the most difficult campaign missions will be next. Good luck with that. You're gonna need it.
mashrukh khan my words! I think in fact that next level is the most difficult level off all campaigns of Age, hands down.
Nah, the Genghis Khan campaigns are way harder.
Absolutely the hardest. I don't know how the hell you're meant to do it without drawing each unit out slowly with your heroes, killing them, letting the heroes heal, and repeat. Not even The Lion and the Demon compares, and that's a pretty tricky mission if you don't know to not immediately start building the wonder.
With all respect its not even top 5 imo.
orhun kars Damn, you think? What would you rank the top 5 as, or the hardest?
And he didn't even bother to go Imp. Now I really feel like a beginner.
I'm very eager to see how you fare in the Siege of Paris, my guess is that you are going to fail at least once! By the way I love this series, keep it up man!
6:54
"We are gonna do Tim proud and wall this"
LOL
The only advantage by water is to knock off green's troops and to wipe out orange. War Galley's can reach their TC but beyond that, they don't help with yellow.
3:49 lol, that is a whole new level of moonwalking.
Bonjour Viper, quelle belle video, j'adore ton teneur
I love how the map is wrong with Burgundy replacing modern Switzerland
Just FYI when u defeat computers in these vanilla campaign missions, they take forever to delete all their units and military buildings, one by one like about one every second, thats why it takes them so long to resign
dire wolves dodge like 90% of arrows. That's why your xbows had trouble with that first one. You can tell it is a dire wolf quickly because they have a square instead of a circle when you click on them.
futbolluva House Stark in aoe2..
Love your intro man! from a french guy ahahah
Next one will be interesting, Viper's great micro is a big plus for that kind of scenario but he is pretty reckless as well so I'm not sure.
AOE 4K
ua-cam.com/video/HJvm_b9s8VA/v-deo.html
Salut Viper :D nice vid
LMFAO
real spicy intro
Great video's, these. I hope you'll survive that cough so you can upload more!
Cheers, I hope so as well!
It didn't tell you to take over the water! quite the oposite. it told you that it is nice to control the river but do not spent your resources on ships
Nice, wasn't expecting an episode today. This is actually 4 episodes this week, you said you were doing 3 lol.
Laughed way to hard at 1:28 :D
take care viper!
The ai vill sneak - Strong
you actually pronounced cathedral correctly in this one!!! :)
if you lose your siege in the next one it's a nightmare
Good job! 11!
Wololo op!
You could go imp on this mission :P
Finally! The first of the scenarios most of the people wanna see, Siege of Paris! Good luck!
Be careful of extensive scouting and early aggression, at least in the later missions. I've accidently triggered the entire enemy army to attack early on more than I'd like to admit lol
Je pensais que la vidéo serait en français, then i realised it was just the intro ^^
nice french there viper!
you know what helps against a sore throat....
I didn't watch yet, but like 😂😂👌
Viper awesome video. But why didn't you advance to imperial age you didn't realize or you wanted to do it in castle age ?
Viper awesome vid. But why didn't you advance to imperial age you didn't realize or you wanted to do it in castle age ?
now the viper is as far as I am. I will watch what you do next and just try the same with worse micro^^
You could have gone imp in this mission, I guess you didn't need to though.
anyone knows if you still can get over the max pop with monks like in the original AoE (without Voobly)?
(the trick was to convert units while a unit is produced and thereby get both units (and one more pop then normally, also works with higher number of converts but you need more monks then.)
29:40 Now I need to argue the Abbey upgrade as a feasible option. Once argued feasible I will place the upgrade on another upload.
10:12 Is that a new animation for the villager dying, or I'm just stupid?
My God I didn't notice that either!
It's just the male shepherd dying graphic :D
It's really rarley seen though.
Please tell me you will upload the challenge where you and Toplo instructed each other.
upload some CBA, that would be great
first time i realize that the map overview has complete wrong borders. for example burgundy is in switzerland...
Cool Guys Don't Look At Explosions...... Cool GUYS never go IMP
bonjour viperrrr
Guys Viper didnt wanna go imp just to show off his skills, relax it was all part of the plan
The original no hd version age of kings is hell difficult
please change speed to Fast when you play campaign ^_6
Why you didn't go Imp 11
Good Game ;-)
How many attempts will Siege of Paris take I wonder lol. I hate hate HATE that level.
finally!
going imp?
Why is the flag for the siege of Paris in South East France?
Siege of Paris .... that will not be easy ! Prepare yourself ! Thats very difficult mission imo.
Literally how I've been playing this stupid level for months and I can't get it
play the genghis khan campaign
What's the wall mod you have?
you had access to imp
