Definitely different up there…I am from Missouri but went to Wisconsin for family vacation…tried for walleye and ended up hammering the Largemouth bass…got my PB Largemouth…6lbs and 14 oz…good job in the micro buddy!!👍
Brother tell it. I go up a few times a year minimum and I have to remind myself not to fish like I'm in Illinois. We have a camp/lake we visit from church and it's taken 15 plus years to figure out. Docks are golden, rock piles and weedline fishing. We target bass and still catch decent walleye and northern pike on the same baits. Took every one of those years to get my PB walleye last year...25 inches. My buddy had a PB largemouth with the Rapala scale showing just over 4lbs on a wacky rig Yum Dinger. Blessings brother
You’re reading and fishing a smallmouth bass river as a largemouth angler looking to catch largemouth. Pinches, chutes, outside turns, rock and timber IN CURRENT are where the winning bass live. 3/8 ounce spinnerbaits and swim jigs will get it done. HUGE respect for actually paddling and relying on your own stamina to get through the tournament. 👊🏼 Wish more shared this mentality versus the credit card captains.
Great video and great fishing John and congratulations on second place that is awesome!! Have a good day and week. Thank you for sharing and taking us along with you.!! Stay safe and God bless
Awesome video, John! It’s really cool to see all the different types of water and structure that folks fished for the event; the stuff you were fishing was like a different planet compared to the main river current stuff I was fishing. Great to meet you in Wisconsin, and if you can make it to the St Cloud KAS event next year I bet you’ll get on those big smallies!
John no worries brother you did your best you fished where you thought you would find some large ones it just didn’t work out! The micro tournament I’m so glad you entered into this one I really feel both these type of tournaments was made just for your type of fishing! John keep learning, keep pushing cause you’re going to bring home some hardware in the largest bass tournament! Tight lines take care and God bless!
Great tournament, John, at least you got a 2nd place micro trophy, what looks good to us the fish don't, I've seen it many places, you take the tennessee river, here in Chattanooga I can catch many bass, but on down the river like Guntersville totally different, the same on wheeler lake, but thanks for your adventures I enjoy everyone of them!🎣👍
John maybe Wisconsin welcomed you to fish but didn't promise how big. Still a good time and meeting new people. Sharing that passion, getting Larry on UA-cam. I hope you were able to talk a bit with Nick from @suburbanangling and fellow UA-camr. My buddy Ricardo was up near Antigo WI this past weekend and caught his PB largemouth off the weedline with the Bubble gum swirl Yum Dinger he saw "Our guy John Dalton in East TN" fishing. It's made us both believers in that bait. Thanks for sharing brother. Blessings
Cool adventure! My experience has been that Northern bass (largemouth) don't grow as fast or quite as large as the good 'ol Tennessee or Georgia bass, just sayin' . It was beautiful country though. My son lives in Far North Idaho, he's also a follower of your channel. Sure digging that shirt you're wearing in the end commentary !! Hoping our team has a good year ! Always love the WORD. Pap Blevins
John the comedian! "..think I am gonna go finesse for a while.." so I put on a buzz bait! :-) If you "finesse fish" with a buzz bait, just how big were the fish you were after??!!..Good stuff as always, John!! Thank you! :-)
I was waiting for you to hit that northern pike, I am from Wisconsin and I know where you are fishing. Don't feel bad, the Large Mouth Bass run smaller than you are see where you l you live. The Small Mouths can do better there, though. 😉 The Smalles are more dominant in Wisconsin, harder to catch bigger Larger Mouth. Colder weather make a big difference up here? But nice to see you fishing in my neck of the woods!
never caught anyone size worthy in that slough but I have caught Huge crappies off the point across from where you launched at to get to your 2nd spot.
Nice job! I love the idea of a micro bass tournament so I can break out my BFS gear. How does one go about finding tournaments like that? Facebook? IG?
“I think we’re gonna try and go finesse for a little while”
*immediately hears a buzz bait clacking*

Lodi creek that dumps in there is, a spring fed trout stream. Was thinking a tube would work around the rock of the bridge tunnel.
Great video and congratulations in the micro bag at lease you had great time in it
Good job, beautiful scenery
Thanks you love fishing

Thank you for another enjoyable video. Pike are delicious. Just look up how to fillet them first.

What platform do you use for your online fishing tournaments... recently started doing a little research on them. I may try my luck next year.
I'm about 20 minutes from there
A big rabbit in Wisconsin looking at you? He probably heard your accent.
❤
There you go... What are the requirements of a "micro-bass' tournament?
