Would you be able to do a video going over how tcg direct works? That's my stores next step when our sales increase and I can't wrap my head around how the shipping charges work.
Thank you!!! Can you please make some content on what prices to list on TCG for commons, uncommon and Rares for a base cost for Magic and Pokemon? Thanks!
I'm not that granular with them. The rarities tend to take care of themselves as far as pricing, I set my prices at an average between the current TCG Direct Low (or just TCGLow for non-Direct games) and TCG Market price. I wish I had more info that I could make a video about, but really it's all in the MassPrice video I did a couple weeks ago
What have you calculated to be the minimum order size that ships in a PWE that is still profitable after TCGPlayer fees? Is 1 cent enough? I am pretty close to optimizing my shipping costs and I feel like it might not be quite enough. I try to avoid listing anything under 0.15 right now but maybe I am missing out on valuable sales.
For me, currently, with my current shipping process and supplies costs, fee structure, &c., I break even on orders at about $.09 of product. I set my floor at $.05, and it's pretty rare I get an order in the $.05-.10 range. And even then, those orders are only losing a couple pennies, more than made up for by the profits from selling Direct at that price range as well as orders above that breakeven level
Quick question. When you get a direct reimbursement invoice on a Friday like today, do you have to ship it out Saturday as it says 24 hours? Or does it consider business days and you can ship Monday?
It varies widely depending on how many veggieterribles this human bean has eaten. Seriously though, my psychological state will affect this a lot. If I'm awake and motivated and it's not raining so I don't have a headache, &c., it can be pretty quick. Or it can be a slog. I don't really have a number I can give you as my official stat unfortunately
Hey maybe an idea for a video is go over the filters for the mass price tool that you may or may not use. I have 1 filter currently average tcg market price and direct low but thoughts on what kind of filter works best for volume etc.
Check out the video I did recently about MassPrice, I go into a lot of detail there. But the short answer is that I have that tool average the current Market Price and the current Direct Low price, down to a floor depending on the game in question. This preserves some movement with the market without getting too mismatched with events that haven't affected Market Price yet, but also not forcing me to race to the floor either
I actually didn't have any boxes available right then, but I have lots of bubble mailers. With tracking and insurance, I've never had a problem with the package arriving safely
For Direct, how many discrepancies (condition, missing, etc) on average do you have when they review the Reimbursement Invoice? I usually only get around 5 discrepancies, however, one of my last orders i had about 30 condition discrepancies randomly, which i have never had before. Do you know if they are cracking down on Direct Conditioning or something? I am just worried now ill have to go back through my inventory and recondition.
Honestly, it seems that they, like we, are humans, who sometimes condition a bit more harshly. Also, I've noticed that I get more discrepancies when I send in a lot of foils, because they naturally are harsher on foils. Usually it's very few, but I do get a spike sometimes, usually when it's a higher mix of foils to non-foils
@@TCGBulkKings totally makes sense, I got an influx of foils and that might be why. I really appreciate the reply! Love the videos. And if you ever do a Live Video like this, I would love to watch!
From what I've seen, with the exception of higher end products where condition can mean larger price differences, it pays to be pretty harsh with your own conditioning. For most products there's very little difference between a NM price and an LP one (sometimes LP is actually higher). Putting a card at a lower condition means fewer potential customer complaints too. Card age can be a factor too; I think plenty of people would assume the older a card is the more likely it is to be LP or worse, so it creates a mental bias against NM.
I don't, for 2 reasons: 1) I know for a fact that if I start doing this, I will get sucked into trying to do this all the time. I will eventually become obsessive about this particular aspect of the business. It's like knowing you have an addictive personality and avoiding gambling. 2) I know for a fact that I am not actually good at this. I will overestimate every card's ability to become more valuable later. I see the value in every card, so I will create a (usually nonsensical) story about how something will be useful later. I can't do this objectively, and I'm not good at subjective assessment of this. I pretty much only hang on to things that I like, usually meaning they are unique or part of some project. I'm building my 8th Ed set from only bulk submissions, I like vintage stuff, so I'm trying to figure out what I want to collect there. I am looking to start a collection of cards that are books (which will probably expand to cards with books in the art), but that's a long-term, nebulous project I haven't put a lot of work into.
Yes, I currently have a floor set of $.05 for Direct games, and either $.05 or .10 for non-Direct games, depending on their sell through (read: subjective feelings lol)
I just received my bulk order from you and I am very happy with my purchase I will be purchasing more in the future!
Glad to hear it!

I can do that, I kinda did when I first joined up a couple years ago, but I'm happy to update that. I'll add it to the cue

The hazardous material question is for the Fallout MTG cards
Lol, makes sense

I think they don't start emailing you that it's late till Monday, but it is late by their policy as of Saturday morning
If you don't mind me asking I'm curious how many cards/orders per hour you can handle start to finish (so your full picking to shipping process)?

I'll have to put some thought into this, see if I can come up with a way to talk about it that's actually helpful. Need more data
Hello! For TCGplayer direct, do you typically leave your price at Marketprice or do scale or up a bit, like MP +10%?
Check out the video I did recently about MassPrice, I go into a lot of detail there. Why not a small box for the $300+ order? Might be an extra $1. Just curious. Thanks

Do you ever speculate on cards? Like you may set aside a cheapo card you have a lot of, thinking it will spike at some point?
I don't, for 2 reasons:

Hahaha love the self awareness. That's cool about the book card project. I'm kind of the same way with card art with hands lol@@TCGBulkKings

how do you ship the 2nd order for less than a buck? i used a forever stamp but there isnt tracking.
6 is my max so that is still under 1oz in a pwe
what do you do if they order more than 6 cards? i had an order of 20 of the same card and the shipping was still the same.@@TCGBulkKings
