I'm trying not to respond to these negative comments but I'll explain something to help people better understand. I started playing when zendikar came out and got really heavy into it when RTR came out. I have about 12 decks between commander and modern. I stopped playing and turned to business because of how rude and disrespectful people are at local events. I play with my friends frequently but that's it. I sell cards cheaper than anyone else on TCGplayer but I have to make my money back somehow. I never meant to disrespect anyone with this video, I was just excited about the find.
Nice find for $20! I'm loving the Letgo/Craigslist market for cards these days!
Pete Lowry Me too! Makes the hunt a lot of fun!
All the cards you thought were legends are from chronicles sir
Well that's disappointing..very grateful for the heads up though! I learn something new everyday from great comments like this. Thank you!
The Aladdin is Chronicles as well. It's about 50 cent. If it was Arabian Nights it would been worth a lot more.
Thank you to all my commenters for teaching me about the difference between legends and chronicles. #themoreyouknow
I remember looking through card prices and seeing foil grim monoliths were 1,000-1,500. I was like holy crap. I have had one of those just sitting in a box for years. I probably traded next to nothing for it back when I was pimping out my Type 1 deck.
Type 1 -- hahahahaha man *switches to obi wan kenobi voice* thats a name i havent heard in a long time
Deflection was worth a good amount and badass back in the day
The sticky pages are probably just really old crap binder pages. Have an old binder from the nineties were the pages stick. Maybe pvc?
It's nice having someone comment something real for once haha, and yes you are correct. I found an old pokemon binder recently that had the exact same stickiness to it.
Hey, I remember when I learned the whole Chronicles vs Legends/Antiques/AKnights thing...good video.
5minoflame Thank you, I appreciate it. Unfortunately I had to learn through a UA-cam video and look like an idiot, but hey at least I know now
Wow Incandescent Soulstoke and Nova Chaser. I loved Elementals back in the day :D
Page ten intruder alarm is the card of value 🤪
Check out the Serendib Efreet with the altered image, not much but cost some $ :)
scion of the ur-dragon on the first page is like 4-5 dollars at least? Pretty fun in EDH games
Do you still have the hunting grounds foil
Realistically, when all is said and done, you're looking at something like $60 for this binder. Just not worth the hassle of selling them as singles which is why the guy sold it to you for $20.
NewFormofSilence Already made over $200 through TCGplayer. Definitely a great find.
Awesome value for 20 bucks
Yea I made out pretty well with this binder, thanks for the support!
first card in the binder is newer than mirrodin xD
(Scion is from time spiral which is a block or two past mirrodin)
do you play magic?
The intruder alarm is a very good edh card.
i once found a collection at a flea market. so i picked out a couple cards like oldschool karn, flash, a couple merchant scrolls, a bunch of goldboarder fetchlands etc. he even had an old rulesbook and the big magic enzyclopidia. he wanted to have 4 dollar for the cards and the books were gifted to me. fleamarkets are great sometimes! if you not interested in keeping the cards i would not buy them tho. flea markets and private sellers make hobbies cheaper, you make magic more xpensive by selling them away essentially decreasing the number of cheap cards and replacing them with expensive cards. RESELLER ALERT :D
mirrodin is not last set in here, timespiral is
Looks like an unlimited savannah lions and jade monolith in there.
if so i believe lion is worth a ton. if revised then not so much
Makes me kinda sad that someone who doesn't know a thing about Magic finds this instead of me :/
Do you still have the Stonehewer Giant?
Amazing video again
Thank you!
Yo guy, if you have a smart phone download Delver Lens, put white sheets of paper behind the page you are scanning, and try to reduce glare - using PC light works well. It'll save you lots of time
Just as a general rule, a white -bordered card is from a later printing which lowers the value.
Playmat is awesome!!
Is that nullstone gargoyle foil?
If so im interested!!
TCG player, atleast from what you've said - I think their prices are really off. but I'm sure you are double checking before trying to sell - I check Starcitygames or facetofacegames cuz most stores in my area go off of those
The alladin is from chronicles, its a reprint set that retained the original cards set symbols but is white border, he is sadly worthless
Crap. Thank you for catching that or there would have been a very unhappy customer!
today i learned my cephalid constable is worth 2 dollars
I had alot of fun writing that comment 🤣
I had a lot of fun reading it!
The guy who sold this to you ripped himself off by taking a 20 dollar bill. He definitely got low balled! He must have been desperate for cash. You said I probably should of offered him 10 bucks. Greedy... Ouch man, that is insane!
How much money is a buck??
Black lotus 16:57
I give up on A name where?
Aladdin is not worth much. It's a white bordered, probably 4th edition. Most cards like that have to be from the original set to be worth anything.
I think whiteborder aladin is not that much.
and Dakkon is from Chronicles and whitebordered.
vedalken orrery tho
The Aladdin is from Chronicles, 0,49 sorry
us4rnam4 Yea I figured that out afterwards, pretty disappointed in that.
Yeah was watching the video and was like "no way a chronicles aladdin is that much! If it is im sitting on a gold mine" lol
Seeing all of the "Legends" rares that were chronicles was a little cringy. But there was some nice cards in there otherwise.
SeanJ2017 What I love about UA-cam is that I get to learn something daily. Unfortunately most people are rude about it. Definitely learned about chronicles in this video.
shipping tracked cards for 25 cents..... um thats not going to happen
Yeah this guy is completely clueless lol
Really, you should’ve offered the poor man less? After knowing you where gonna make a profit on just one page? That’s sad man. Borderline nothing but greed. I don’t care if it was risky cuz it’s condition. Look through the binder first and offer the man his pay due.
A few things I'll say in response to your comment:
1. You're right. Had I known I would be making a large profit, I would have offered more. At the time I only had a minute to flip through it and I am not familiar with all the older rares. All I knew was that the page of old lands is probably worth around $20-$30, so I offered $20, willing to settle at $25.
2. The art of business isn't about breaking even, it's about making a profit. After shipping costs and the hours put into sorting and listing I will make much less over a very long period of time than the total "profit" shown at the end of the video.
3. He made a profit regardless and that's what the flea market is about. He couldn't have possibly cared less about an MTG binder among his baseball memorabilia. He said he picked it up at a garage sale or something which means he probably paid $5 for the binder.
I apologize if you disagree with my methods, but I assure you everyone shopping at a flea market or shopping on eBay is doing the exact same thing. I was just the lucky one to find it first.
Timothy Owens My man
Cory's Card Craze I really don't know you, this UA-cam video is my first exposure of you, with that being said there is a thing called ethical business practices. There is nothing wrong with buy low sell high. However you come off as a bit unsavory and judging by this single video I wouldn't want to do business with you. I would question the authenticity of your cards. Trust is a huge factor when it comes to the buyer seller relationship.
ken james Amen man. You said it better.
you dumb communist fucks. the guy was selling shit at a flea market. if he couldn't be bothered to look a few of them up, that's on him. you think the seller had his seller's permit? do you think he reported the $ brought in to the government? fuck off you little kids. so obvious in this life who is going to be poor and who understands how the world works.
Legends in white border where Chronicles.. NOT legends
The fact that you don’t know which card was worth money on some of the pages, and just look at the page as a sheet worth this arbitrary value, is what hurts the most. So many people who actually play magic and make decks know those cards and would love them for their history and uses in the game.
All I see is a guy with money bags on his eyes, not a magic the gathering player. I was surprised you said you had a commander deck.
I'm trying not to respond to these negative comments but I'll explain something to help people better understand. I started playing when zendikar came out and got really heavy into it when RTR came out. I have about 12 decks between commander and modern. I'll give you 25$ for the lot
Jeff Swett that's actually a pretty good offer.
You do not know much about MTG, listing them as damaged when they are just played is dumb.
It guarantees a happy customer. Thanks for the comment!
Damaged is only if it is ripped, cracked/weakened, folded, badly dented, taped, or pieces missing. If the surface is worn/scratched and also the edges, fingernail marks and all that, then its somewhere between light played and heavy played. The price difference between these categories is huge because it determines tournament legality, so you guarantee an unhappy wallet. If you cannot get this down, you have 2 options: Sell the whole thing to someone who knows, or do ebay auctions with front and back pictures and do not grade at all. A trustworthy professional will pay close to market value for the good cards and give a lottle bonus for the rest, and you do not know enough to make that much money selling them yourself if you grade undamaged cards as damaged. www.cardmarket.com/en/Help/CardCondition
I appreciate the input. I've already made $200 off the cards in this binder so I'm not too worried about it, but I will definitely keep what you've told me in mind for future purchases/sales. I'm used to dealing with only near mint cards fresh out of packs so this was new to me. Thank you! Much appreciated.
google starcitygames condition guide
lol not to be mean but you sounds really greedy oh i have like 5 pages of 20 dollar cards i should have given him a penny for the whole binder
sound tired my man
oh yes, very tired
I hate to be the one to tell, but those cards ain't really worth anything. Especially once condition is factored in.
Thanks for the input, already made well over 250 off this binder, but always appreciate the input
no you have not unless your ripping kids.
Brandon Stone TCGplayer bud, I've made plenty listing cards in worse condition than they are. I like my customers to be happy. It's called business.
Lol
