4:30 That isn't a urinal. It's where you wash your hands. It had a foot pedal to turn on the water and a fountain type fixture in the center. The scrappers made of with all the metal.
Your comment at about 6:05 is very true indeed. At 17 I worked in a stamping company where some folk there had held their first job into their last. Somehow I admired that agreement between employer & employee where both would benefit when an employee enriches the company by being punctual, sober and willing to do their best that day and every day, the employer would share the company's riches with their staff. As I grew into my twenties, I realized the latter was an imagination of my own creation. The employer will keep the employee fed enough to need to return to work but will not really share the same life quality they are enjoying from the large amount of disposable income the company generates for them. In the end, we need to save as best we can for ourselves.
I believe the Packard Museum is in Dayton, OH. And I think Fisher had a plant in Hamilton, just on the line of Fairfield. The same people helping Ford with Michigan Central are also helping with one of the churches in town.
Good Urbex, beautiful decay, the old Packard Plant is now under demolition, a true Urbexers dream, going to disappear, it was time for that eyesore to go I guess, also, heard that the Fischer plant was going to be rehabbed, geez, how are they going to do that?? Anyway, things are going to be gone, Detroit is on the move, at least they are trying. Good stuff, new sub here, you guys are rust takers I see, haha, be careful out there, watch out for Crackheads. Now, the Packard plant is all sealed off, extra security, so, I don’t think anyone is getting back in there, anytime soon, London Bridge is falling down….
Hey guys, thanks for the hike. Do you know the name of the red brick building with the arched widows at 11:10 - 11:20? Seems it's being renovated. Is it close by the Packard Plant?
LOL> I can't believe they didn't know that! Can you see 10-12 guys lined around that thing, all with their dongs hanging out and aiming across toward the guy standing opposite of you spewing urine for everyone to stand there and watch??? OMFG! Whata sight that would be, right!??
I've gotten recent reports that the entire second floor has collapsed and not much of anything is able to be kept. They said it's not even worth going in because the stage is gone 😥
I used to work for a toolmaking company in the UK that made press tools for Fisher Body. Mr Roshand was the man we dealt with. Name spelling may not be correct.
Honestly your walking around with zero PPE. I've been there. I live in Detroit. I'm a tradesmen and even being my profession I would not enter without at least glasses hard hat and gloves. Also long sleeve
I think few people know the history of Detroit's industry (which was Detroit's main economic activity) at the beginning of the 20th century. Detroit was experiencing the golden years of the automobile industry, but in the 1950s, the most efficient automakers in Japan (such as Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Nissan) threatened the automobile industry. 👷♂👷♂👨🌾👨🌾🏭🏭

People today take for granted all of the man hours (that includes hu-man with boobs)that brought this country to the place it is today. All it takes is a few decades of working hard, paying ridiculous taxes, to realize the greatness of the generations preceding us. We suck.
It was the first place in America where the Who performed the rock opera Tommy live. In 1967 Cream did a one stand which was considered one of their best live performances. Led Zeppelin did a few shows there as well. And so did Big Brother and the holding company. The Grande had a maximum capacity of 1,830. You either stood or sat on the floor. I had a friend who passed away a year ago and he saw with some of his friends the MC5 three times there. Pink Floyd and The Grateful Dead did a show there the same night..
Unfortunately for me I came around later in the seventies and eighties to see Arena rock. But I did get fortunate enough to see in January of 78 kiss perform at Olympia Stadium where the Red Wings used to play. I think it was like a 6000 or 8000 seed Arena.
Another concert that I was fortunate enough to see was at the Pontiac Silverdome and it was actually the first concert at the Pontiac Silverdome was the King Elvis Presley New Year's Eve 1975. I used to have all my concert tickets saved in this little scrapbook and lost them unfortunately in moves throughout my life.
All of our buicks and Oldsmobiles had the fisher stamp on them
Who makes the body parts for US cars now?

So,
Quit working for other thieves and pave your own way… softie
There are many , many autoworkers who enjoyed a high quality of life because of their employment.
Ma Father worked there in the 60's.❤️
Guys, I enjoy that you go exploring in these old factories. Please aware there is asbestos dust, lead paint and other hazards. Please be careful.
Diversity is a wonderful thing.
I grew up in Southfield Michigan and I definitely remember the Grande Ballroom.
It's calcuim leaching out of the cement due to water intrusion. It happens with any concrete structure.
Good to know. Thank you

Not funny but a dark tragic symbol. All those men once had good jobs good lives.
Industrial age - very interesting. Good investigation 😄. (King Records bldg. still exists in Cincy....James Brown)
Not a urinal, but handwashing station
Good to know

It's sad that nothing has been done with the Grande Ballroom. Hopefully, it will be restored in the near future.
I hope so!

40,000 people worked there...i cannot imagine the people doing payroll without computers every week
Sounds like hell.

Pole arm insulater
Some day China will feel this same economic down turn . ,and all their factories will look like this one day .
There was more than one Fisher body plant
In fact, there were over 40

Wiping hand on original asbestos tile.
Touching it won’t bother you, breathing the dust will. Thanks for watching
