First video on these goggles that was fun and relaxing to watch. Props for the extra info text neatly put on screen in a neat manner! I actually am still adjusting from analog to Fatsnailwalkatar, but tempted to go HDzero for my 5" racer when winter is over. I'll just wait with buying and see what glitches need to be patched. To bad the Nintendo colors got the green treatment lol.
Thanks for noticing the details, I put too much effort into these videos… but I always have a vision for each video. Anyway i just took my first proper flight and what a huge upgrade from my HDOs, didn’t expect it actually… I’ll have to do some back to back testing tomorrow. Cool thing with the HDZero goggles is you can add a WalkSnail VRX and fly three different systems. Thanks for watching and commenting, cheers!
Now it’s turned to rain here and everything is solid ice. Haha! But I’ve been squeezing in flights when I can, tomorrow might be nice. Definitely a big improvement from my HDOs. Also busy testing and providing feedback. But, Thanks for watching and commenting, I’ll follow up soon, cheers!
Yea, pretty solid. Did my first proper flight with them yesterday, a surprisingly huge improvement from the HDOs, which are pretty nice goggles to begin with. I’ll post a follow up later this week. Cheers!
Thanks man, appreciate the comment. Huge upgrade these goggles are, can’t wait to get some more flight time in and do some proper comparisons for partII. Cheers!
Appreciate the comment, did my first proper flight today and was pleasantly surprised. For some reasons my expectations were lower, but the image is a huge upgrade from my HDO goggles. I’ll post the follow up next week! And keep up the good work with your channel, always solid content, cheers!
I pretty pleased with them so far, really happy with the focus and IPD adjustments, and of course those bright OLEDs. What goggles are you using currently?
@@GiantAntCowboy my vision just started to deteriorate at 40 (rather quickly actually) so the visual adjustability is very exciting Ps. I've had hdo v1, dji v1 and hd3
You can get astgmatism correction for FPV googles on aliexpress but not for HD zero yet they at the moment have released them for DJI googles 2 maybe you can get them to fit ??. (cannot sent link as youtube will not allow). also my skyzone 04x are not + 6 to -6 (actually +2.5) as stated so its good that you have showen that they are correct in description.
Nice, thanks for the tip. It will be possible to get the correct inserts for the HDZero goggles soon, I’ve seen a couple folks working with companies to get them made. I’ll share any information I get about that in future videos. But the goggles are working great, and I don’t mind throwing my contacts in when I want it to be perfect. Had an amazing flight today, and will share an update next week. Thanks for watching, cheers!
I didn’t get the analog module because I don’t even have any analog quads anymore. But several of the other Beta testers have been flying analog and it’s work great. With the HDZero Goggle you could run HDZero, Analog and eve WalkSnail now! Pretty awesome actually! I’ll be testing WS on the goggle later this month.
Thanks appreciate the comment. Just took my first proper test flight and wow, yup… surprisingly big upgrade from my HDO goggles. Stay tuned for the follow up video, cheers!
Thanks for sharing it! I am happy you received them..but it's a pity you couldn't try them because of the weather conditions! Don't you have an HD zero mobula to fly inside the house with? Regarding the focus adjustment I have similar eye sight with +3 and 0,5 of astigmatism in both eyes. It's good to hear that even with an higher astigmatism of yours it should be just fine. My plan is to try them and then decide if wearing astigmatism contact lenses or make the prescription lenses for them. The only doubt I have is that so far nobody is talking about the diopter lenses adapter that was showed in other videos. Do you know anything about it? I am guessing they are planning to sell it after or probably they are pushing for s partnership with ROH lenses. Anyway happy flying and keep us updating.
Yea, I just got them Tuesday night and it’s been a busy work week, plus the weather, and also we don’t get much sunlight this time of year in Norway… today looks promising though! As I mentioned a lot in the video the IPD and Focus Adjustments are awesome. Without contacts I can get it clear enough to see and read menu text, but with the astigmatism it isn’t perfect, like slight “ghosting” or “haloing”. So I’ll still choose to wear contacts while flying but, I could fly for sure with just the focus adjustments. I know diopter lenses are compatible, there was one guy taking bait having them made, I update the next video if i find anything specific about it. Appreciate the comment and support, thanks for watching, cheers!
@@GiantAntCowboy @Giant Ant Cowboy at least HD zero googles allow a wider focus adjustment than walksnail /avatar one's. That's the reason why I made up my mind to buy HD zero to pair with the avatar vrx I have already ordered and it's about to come! Coming from box googles..I can't wait finally having digital and analogue all in one!
@@gaetanovalenti4472 yea I’m really happy with the focus adjustments. Also I just came in from my first test flight and wow! Surprisingly a massive upgrade from my HDO goggles. I had low expectations for some reason… but the details, color and clarity were amazing! You’ll certainly be pleased with the upgrade, and huge bonus that we can run HDZ, Analog and WalkSnail with these goggles!
Hello there, a long time ago we were chatting about your 7 inch drone. I believe you said you were swapping to elrs but were having interference issues. Did you end up swapping to elrs or are you back to crossfire?
I did swap to ELRS and really like it. Ended up getting a 500mW 2.4ghz BetaFPV TX and a Matek Diversity RX with antennas for like $70; which is basically the same price as Crossfire Diversity RX… I’ve had great luck with it, Link Quality is better than my Crossfire and I’m only using 250mW max vs 1000mW with my Crossfire setup, which wasn’t diversity. Additionally ELRS is 500hz, where as my Crossfire was 150hz, but dropped to 50hz after 2-3km; so the control feels a bit tighter, especially now with the HDZero goggles low 3ms latency. In summary, it’s inexpensive, works great, and since I’m using lower output power I get less interference. All wins. The only ELRS con is updating the firmware is slightly more involved than TBS Crossfire which was really simple.
Sure, I fly in snow as well but wanted to do some proper testing. When flying in snow everything looks white, the camera lens gets blurry wet spots, and the goggles would get all wet. Much nicer on a clear sunny day.
Good question. No, the HDZero VRX does not transmit, it only receives. DJI/WalkSnail have two-way communication between the VTX and VRX, but HDZero is a simple Send-Receive setup. Both setups have various Pros and Cons, but that’s a whole other discussion. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts, cheers!
I think that was originally stated but, the Beta/Production models are rated to 6s (25.2v) per the documentation. Thanks for watching, stay tuned for updates, cheers!
@@JD-FPV so… now I’ve heard that they can run on 6s but it’s not recommended. Potentially because of voltage spikes or something? I’m not really sure but wanted to pass along the information.
I think it's more of an issue for components that are transmitting (i.e. need to dissipate energy), rather than receiving - so VTX, or perhaps DJI goggles.
It’s best to run with antennas because they help dissipate heat, but running for short period shouldn’t be an issue for receivers. Transmitters (VTX) should never be run without antennas, especially high power VTXs however because they produce a lot of heat and can quickly become damaged. Good question, thanks for watching, cheers!
Nice overview of these new goggles. It's great to see several HD systems available (esp the 2 non DJI options). Do these HD Zero goggles do analog also?
Hi, yea an analog module (RapidFire, TBS Fusion, etc.) can be attached to the side of the goggle via a Module Bay. It’s also has Improved analog video resolution due to a real-time de-interlacer which cleans up the image. I actually don’t fly analog anymore, all quads are currently HDZero and I’ll have some WalkSnail build later this month. Basically these goggles can utilize analog, HDZero, and WalkSnail. Pretty cool, thanks for watching and stay tuned, cheers!
I mean the nice thing with these goggles they can run HDZero, Analog and WalkSnail systems. I’ll be testing WalkSnail later this month, or whenever me VRX arrives. This makes them arguably one of the best FPV goggles currently on the market.
