- Remember the Nissan Patrol you saw on The Grand Tour? Yes, the one that absolutely DESTROYED the Porsche 918 with Richard Hammond behind the wheel in Dubai. That was definitely a WTF moment, so we had to see what this beast of a Patrol was all about! 1320Video headed to Dubai to jump in the passenger seat and ride along in this 1900 horsepower monster! It has finally been revealed what is under the hood of this beast! This Patrol is sporting an entire R35 Nissan GT-R VR38 drivetrain that has been stroked out to a 4.1 liter engine build by T1 Race Development. Not only that, but this Patrol also has a build Shep Transmission as well as GT-R axles, hubs, brakes, rear subframe, everything! They sent a GT-R over to the shop, and they got a shell back essentially. Jeremy Clarkson would be proud! If you come here in dubai you'll find most of the Sleeper Cars are Toyota Landcruiser & Nissan Petrol! If you are driving a Lambo on the highway in high speed and look back at the tail mirror you'll see a Nissan Petrol flashing you to move out of the way xD

Basicaly all big car makers could make a car with way over 1000 HP but I'll give you a little secret that you seem to be unaware of. Car companies make cars to make money. This is not about passion, speed or anything like that. Make something that customer wants and can pay for.

E39M5SPEED when I used to live there I never really wore shoes. I actually didn't wear shoes that much until I moved to the usa. And the reason is cold weather here.

it did come from the factory. the GTR drivetrain was all fitted by Nismo for the customer
You may be thinking of the Juke GTR? They only made like 21 or so. Correct me if i'm wrong.
they had it custom made by gtr for the customer. at least thats what they said on the grand tour.
GTR is a car not a place or company. Nismo is Nissan's performance company they built it.

No, it had 1600 in it. So it could go up to 1600 with the current setup at max boost.
Not sure if you listened to the video, but he clearly states 1900hp on the dyno, I can't tell you why he got mixed up on the low/medium boost, but that has nothing to do with us luring people in. We take the numbers from the owners/people in the videos.

Im sure they have a media lisence specifically to film it on the road. It was Featured by Richard Hammond months prior on GT so you could call it a celebrity that promotes the country's motoring scene.
What a great build... I actually thought this thing was built for dune racing / hill climbing the first time I saw it, as I knew that was a fairly popular auto subculture over there. I just figured they slapped drag radials on a dune car. I had no idea it was a complete GT-R drivetrain.

I live in Dubai, and you have no idea.. there are restrictions for modifications. You have to get an approval from the roads authority for any modification you make, from the suspension to the engine all the way to the exhaust. So nothing comes as heavenly as it may seem.

I've wanted a Patrol for a while thanks to the Huge Turbos hanging out of the bay in the sand dune hill climb videos, but this is a new level. I have watched this video about 10 times since it came out and I still marvel at the amount of get up and go this thing has at this weight and also, they made it so nice as far as interior blending between the GTR and the Patrol and even exterior wise, just very understated and clean. This and the Land Speed Land Cruiser are by far my two favorite SUV's of any kind ever, that aren't built specifically for climbing.

That I could build a car like that, that I could be as fluently bilingual as these guys (trilingual, if you count car speak as a language), and that more people could see past racial lines to see others as equals, these dudes are fucking awesome, I love them.
