They love making games better than they made before... some companies on other hand love making games than earn more money than last they made and thats where things go wrong for them...

Well we dont know that, everything witcher is gold and I hear it's hard to turn gold into poo
So, when the devs streamed the campaign it took them 20 minutes to get to the first story objective. Well, it took me 2 and a half hours to get there, but I’m not regretting even a minute of it. The writing is exceptional, characters are amazing and there are a lot of side quests with interesting twists to them. Every battle feels unique and different. And the atmosphere is so thick it just engulfs you. The cards are also... wait, what? It’s a card game? Wtf...

I stayed out of Heartstone and the other card-based games/RPGs, but this far superior. Simply by including writing, a campaign, and voice acted narrative scenes. This is what I want from all my favourite RPG titles. Looking forward to trying it.

For 130 bux you get a big multiplayer title with guaranteed 3 years of support (lots of new content), another episode of famous zombie survival which will be continiously recieving new expansions during the next years and a battle-royale. 3 big game modes, 3 years of expansions. And actually the base game + season pass worth less than 130 bux.
More hyped for this than I am for Fallout 76

Be that as it may....since they are both a very different kind of game, you can't really compare them like that.
It seems like I need to explain this every few reviews, but reviews should NEVER be compared together, since they come from different years (points of comparison for staple in a genre could change) and different perspectives (different reviewers).

Eh. Rockstar is the best. They have been making quality games for over a decade. Cd project red has only witcher 3 and this. You guys should honestly stop dicksucking cd proj red 😂😂
It's not just about the games... No doubt Rockstar has very talented devs that have made some incredible titles. But Rockstar is also a greedy bastard company, let's be real. Furthermore much of their fanbase is incredibly toxic. In those regards CDPR is a cut above the rest.

The story is stunningly amazing. Very engaging characters. And the music / ambience is top notch. This could have easily been the Witcher 4 game in terms of “story” and characters (it certainly feels as if it was written that way), but they just delivered a deep story with simper graphics and card based gameplay. I’m 20 hours into the campaign and loving it, although sometimes it’s nice that on lower difficulty you can skip battles if you’re having a hard time.
This needs a sequel. They created a sub genre of RPG card battle visual novels games.
When he said it would be shorter to list the negatives of the game, I thought that meant that he was gonna lol.
After I've played through Witcher series and Thronebreaker, I truly want to send CD Projekt Red a personal letter to thank them, thank them for putting a burning passion, love, sadness, truth, art and creativity into my heart. Not many game developers these days (*cough* bethesda, blizzard and EA *cough*) can have the pleasure of knowing that they do that for me, just because that is the fact of what their art does. Keep going strong CDPR!

i dont own a switch, and i dont particularly want a switch.. but why on earth would anybody have a problem with this being ported to switch ?. its perfect for the switch and mobile for that matter.. with the massive succes this seems to be getting, i am allmost willing to bet that it will be on switch within a year

Beat the game in 33 hours. Each minute of each hour worth spent.
For being a cd projekt title its instantly gets 9.0/10
The first two Witcher games got below 9

The wounds Bioware are still fresh..... I didn't hate Andromeda as much as everyone else though. I feel like I got my money's worth at least.
@@Paddy-if3nd i didn't hate it either but i had the nagging feeling "this could've been so much more" the entire time. I never got bored playing mass effect games, not ever. But andromeda wasn't like that.

I love The Witcher series and got addicted to Gwent. I totally slept on this game.

I’m into pretty much anything that gives me more Witcher lore. Though Im not a big card fan so I do wish CDPR had put time instead into another 20+ hour Witcher 3 DLC. Though I understand completely why they didn’t- working on CyberPunk, Geralts journey ended after Blood & Wine, it takes a lot more time to put together a comprehensive DLC, etc.

Great review! Downloading the game right now and can’t wait to play, huge Witcher fan and hoping this will give some more depth some untold stories as we have just found out after watching the Witcher tv series on Netflix 👌🏼
Could easily have been done using the same visual style and map but with actual isometric or JRPG style combat. would have bought and played but I just can't go for gwent.... I did try it, just didn't enjoy it.
You should atleast first try the free to play gwent online game and then decide if you want to buy the throne breaker. I ASSURE YOU this gwent game has absolutely nothing to do with the gwent you saw at Witcher 3. I've seen people who loved Witcher 3's gwent while hating the full gwent game while people like you who didn't enjoy that old gwent while loving the new one. It's alot more skill based and optimized and accessible than the old one. It doesn't take much space on your hard drive and you can play online gwent for free for hundreds of hours before deciding to buy the throne breaker.

Even CD projeckt Red makes a spin-off for a mini game, they not only build in the mini game itself but create yet another layered story with interesting characters, genuinely difficult choices and unforeseen consequences. Love to the grave

Tried to play this, game just goes black right after startup. No fixes online solve the problem and CD Project Red have released no information about it.

What I got from this is CD Project Red made a Witcher Gwent RPG game
I play on iOS on my iPad. One thing that bothers me:
When i am on my iPad HomeScreen for only idk … 3-5minutes and want to come back to the game, it restarts again and i've been throwed into my last save state.
So for example if iam in the middle of a match but have to pause for a moment … i may have to start that match all over again. Does someone know if that can be changed?
Otherwise i really like Thronebreaker so far … maybe the tutorial is a bit … let's say overwhelming with a bit to much input …

The game is not set after the RPG Witcher trilogy, it is set around the 4th book, way behind the games chronologically.
