This game was a big surprise to me, it's actually awesome and for me more like 8.9 for fun factor alone. Really enjoying it.

Does it have any replay value? Meaning can your choices change the ending? Or is it more of the same no matter how many playthroughs you do?

This game is great, I'd give it an 8.5, it's not that had if you plan everything before the ambush, that's the fun part, you REALLY are outnumbered every time. A squad of 4 would have been perfect though.
I think the choice of making the game limited to 3 in the party forces you to use the most of every character's ability, when I first met Magnus I thought this way too, but further more I start switching characters constantly, which made me have a great experience playing it

The Mutant series of games, the first of which was released in 1984, has always heavily featured anthropomorphic animals in the form of "mutated animals". This is most likely because it was greatly inspired by the 1978 TSR production Gamma World which likewise featured "mutated animals" as a character type. While its not obvious why TSR chose this aesthetic one could imagine it was because they didn't want their players to be stuck with "boring humans", as their previous publications such as Dungeons & Dragons had included a vast array of fantastic character choices... but elves, dwarves and the like would be a bad fit for a post-apocalyptic America.

Call of duty is actually very fun.
I don't usually play turn based games, but I am playing this one right now and I love every minute of it ! Hard but fair if you get to know the game mechanics. Dark and amazingly looking world!

Reviews and critics have been proven time and time again to be inaccurate. Why? Because it boils down to opinion in the end. Some people love it others hate it. And the third kind balance it out according to mechanics, but people loved resident evil 64 despite its terrible mechanics. So even game mechanics are based on biasm. Just watch videos and choose according to your likes.

many questions not answered, how long roughly it is, is there replayability, whats there else to do beside fighting? how upgrades in shops work in this game and so on. review looks like made by some amateur.....

I don't think it works like that. They have an algorithm that factors in each score the reviewer gives to every category and then poops out a total based on however it is weighted. But the reviewer himself likely didnt deliberately decide on a 7.9. Anyways, not really any different than a 1 to 100 scale.

While it's true Mutant Zero the RGP was released back in 2014, it's based on a much older RPG just called "Mutant" which was released back in 1984. For it's time it was considered quite unique with it's very Swedish post-apocalyptic world combined with dark humor and crazy mutant animals and robots.
'84? Dang, that's even older than the TMNT "After The Bomb" supplement.
This was one of the coolest looking original ips from e3

I actually love that the story is minimal , I try playing Divinity Original Sins but honestly I think I have open world and huge amounts of dialogue fatigue from RPGs now :'(

Particularly this one, I found it amazing, entertaining and refreshing. I would NOT say that a 7.9 is just Ok. Remember those times in which we did not call anything below 9 a bad game?

I love this game. I'm only about 8 hours in and can't get enough. The game is on the shorter side but still feel satisfied with the buy. Combat is tough, and usually I get annoyed and quit games because I get frustrated with overly difficult scenarios or RNG junk, but this one has me so engulfed I've stuck with it. I'd like to see more gear options or resources so you can build up a bit but I'm sure that's by design, to keep you from getting too powerful for the early content. Thumbs up for sure!
the game is caped at certain levels, i did a lets play on very hard and i only had to use silent weapons and stealth(except when i destroyed the big mechs). just upgrade the silent weapons to max, make use of critical from skills and use magnus
How's the story and world building? it looked interesting to me.
@@matthewallan1619 the problem is they never explain the most important plot elements and leave a lot for a sequal, there were a lot of comments on their forum with : i am ready for mutant year 1 or the second game". The world building is nice but a little limited when it comes to the details and time lines. A lot of things are left to your imagination and the ark has almost 0 story elements and doesn't improve in any way after your actions. besides, the game has only 1 quest and that says a lot about world building. It's a game with a meaty gameplay focus and a little slice of story for the mutants.

Got this game for free from GamesScam (Gamestop) its a insanely fun game and its the first Xcom like game Ive ever played makin up for lost time hidden gem of a game
The game is a masterpiece in my opinion...I would say it is a mix betwen front mission 3 and the last of us.
And the audio is a story for it self...1000\1000
It's a solid game. People will not like it because it is hard to level up and win. You really got to sneak around and know all enemies in your fight and know where to put each member of your party. Also really use the abilities they do help out when the fights are close.

never played Atlas reator. But as I'm a long time tactic player, who recently finished this game. I was wondering, do u have a head injury? There is not tactics involved in this game what so ever. It's one of the most shallow games Ive ever played.

This game is great but WAY too short for my liking and too little weapon variety. I like that 25% means 25% and 75% mean 75% unlike XCOM games. Totally worth buying, lets hope Mutant Year Zero 2 is WAY longer and with more weapons and enemy types.

This game is brilliant...far superior to xcom2 which still uses old fashioned way of playing. The mis of real time and turn based battles in road to eden meams l struggle to play a xcom title now as they no fun compared to this game....9 out of 10 off me.....xcom2 would be a six as it plays like a ten year old game compared to this breath of fresh air

I've never seen anything more menacing than a duck with an assault rifle, ever since that metal gear crab with the knife🤔
What unforseen abilites were there? I didn't have all that much trouble with the game. Possibly if you didn't thin out each stage as much as possible and try to battle everyone in one sequence then you have a large uphill battle

Oh man, when i saw the cinematic trailer of this i had high hopes and was looking forward to it. I didnt know it came out and didnt know it was this type of gameplay, im very disappointed.
Completely agree, that trailer was superb, we expected something epic not this style of gaming.
Mutant is not a 2014 Swedish RPG it's a 1980's Swedish RPG that heavily copies settings from Cyberpunk.
The same company also made a Swedish RPG that borroed a lot from D&D that was called Dragons and Demons.
this game is underrated by IGN.
Still one of the best turn based games I’ve ever played is front mission 1, 2 and 3... shame how they ruined it with that last one.

Hi guys. I am about to buy the game but I still have a doubt in my mind. This game is much like xcom and that is way I like it. However, in xcom you can decide when you are going to do last mission and end the gameplay. Is that the case with this game as well or this game has a strict gameplay route that you have to follow?

Im thinking of buying this game when it releases on nintendo switch. But i have never played games as hard as xcom which this game is compared too. Too which switch game could you compare its difficulty?
xcom is fun. U get to level up and consider your moves like chess. This is not that at all. its very shallow. If u like the game idea of this maybe try valkyria chronicles 4
This is a clever game with interesting concepts and art... guarantee just an average score. Not sure why we let these tools review games:P
First few hours i had fun. Then quickly realised the gamr is badly made, small examples. Enemies see you through the walls if you are in the red zone, granades are being thrown threw the roofs, experiment - saved before important battle, kept getting miss on my first sniper shot of 75%. Loaded 10 times - 10 times miss. Thats what i call 75% roll
Tak jak w XCOM to czy trafisz jest przeliczane przed twoją turą, z tego samego miejsca zawsze będzie ten sam efekt, niezależnie ile razy wczytasz grę.

Not really. Of course it's a TRPG(SRPG) but in xcom you are dropped of in arena and always start the fight in the same way. With this one, youre in liniar map and are always walking till you encounter enemies. You can avoid them, or ambush them from any angle.
you can also pick them off one by one if you think carefully - very cool way of evening the odds
Its much better than Xcom it actually requires strategy.

I´m one of the few who played the swedish pen and paper rpg Mutant. Glad that a game has been made of it. But it would´ve gotten tons of better if it was a 3rd person shooter that combined ideas from mass effect and elder scrolls imo.
I haven´t played this yet(which I definitely will). So I really hope they´ve put in alot of the original´s world into the game(i.e there´s a rebel faction called Rubbits who are quite unknown in society and they consists only of white rabbits(shocker!) and not something they made up themselves.

mecharobots same tactical strategy turn based rpg. If you enjoy rpg and tactical games that’s the best game. Great story, excellent voice acting(every npc has it) insane elementals mechanics.
