I'm catching up on all your older videos. I love the way you stick in a shot of your cat or dog in the middle of everything else. Always brings a smile to my face.
I love that y'all invite us into so much of your day without even getting personal. Some things are just never anyone's damn business. But I'm thankful that you both chose to share your homestead projects, here on UA-cam. .
A little tip on the rose hips! Make a warming rose hip pureéd soup , It is a common "dessert" in Sweden called Nyponsoppa, which directly translates to rose hip soup. Basically just boil rose hips in water until softened and then mix them into a pureé, ad water until desired consistency and sweeten to taste. Can be served hot or cold :)
The high drone shot of the lake with the clouds reflecting was stunning! Bandit cracks me up when playing in the pond!😂🤣. Great enjoyment in watching you. ❤️
love the bloopers at the end Dom and you have two beautiful cats! I have been binge watching your older episodes to try and help out your channel and to see more of your cats. i'm glad you've been able to keep going for such a long time!
Just awesome, the entire video. Your food is absolutely appetising. So active and productive, a well deserved dinner and rest. Love all the fantastic shots of peaceful nature. I can feel your hearts in all of them. That’s way you’re there. 🌱💕
Eric and Ariel warding off the undead...lol. That caterpillar is a Monarch, probably looking for milkweed to form it's chrysalis. Thank you for showing us how prolific your garden is and how resourceful you can be when foraging.
I love your chicken flock! It's awesome to see them free-ranging - I've certainly learned a lot about what chickens will eat, both from you guys and from Justin Rhodes... It's been amazing to see them go after meat, fish - all kinds of things!
I agree. I grow hard neck garlic. It pained me to give some to my so - but he is always begging for garlic. This year I told him he had to grow his own - what I gave him was for seed, not for eating !
Hi - I live in the northeast zone 5a. Hard neck garlic is what grows in the northeast. Each bulb has about 5 cloves. Very pungent and the bonus with hard neck is the garlic scapes you get first. The scape is the flower. You cut it off before it flowers so the plant energy goes to the bulb. If you are down south you would grow soft neck. Eric and Arielle how hard neck.
I just love you two and all the feathery, furry creatures ! It's been a pleasure getting acquainted and honor the respect you have for the earth. Many good years to come !
Your garden is just Amazing, I love the way everything is lined up. The produce so perfect, watching you can/jar is so relaxing Arial, Eric love the way you cook, you two are "Two wing's flying together Alway's" Thank you Again from Australia x
I know when that glass casserole dish shows up there’s gonna be some delicious looking eats! Glad to see your garlic harvest was successful. I love how Eric starts a fire - no wimpy lighter or matches. Hope Bandit found what he was hunting in that puddle.
I think you really need to build some kind of wind break/snow blocker. for your bees to make it over winter. My father-in-law raised bees his whole life and said it was important. He was able to have his hives where trees kept them protected but always made sure to get as much snow away so they got enough air.
Everything you harvest and eat looks wonderful. Do you ever use a food processor to grate all those squash? It really does a good job and saves your arm from getting so tired from grating. You two live a great life!! And, you both have so much know how to be so young. You’re special people in this world. A bright spot, if you will! ❤️❤️❤️
Just watched every video over the last two weeks, couldn't stop watching! Even got my kids addicted😅 Love how respectful and appreciative you guys are towards everything, keep up the awesome channel💚💚💚
Love how many vegetables you are able to put in your quiche. As a chef I haven't found many tips I can provide because you all know what you are doing! One small tip is to break your eggs on a flat surface as opposed to the rim of the bowl. This will help prevent shells from entering the batter. Awesome video as always!
So happy to see a new video from you guys this morning. They make my day. You’re very lucky to have the bees you have, in Africa, ours wouldn’t have allowed you to work with them without serious protection.
That was such a beautiful video! Loved the intro with the aerial shots, beautiful garden and animal snippets. The content was good as always, but so beautifully presented. Good job, guys!
Little tip when grating items to make it easier. Instead of keeping grater straight up with the handle being on top, try laying it on the side where you hold the handle towards you body and the hole is away from you. This way the top of the grater is the place being used, all of the food has a place to go out which means less stopping and the forward motion is much less straining. Have a great day and awesome ariel shots in the intro. :)
When you guys were hanging the garlic I thought, hey they must be getting ready for vampire season. No sooner than I thought it, you said it. Amazing. You guys need to broadcast wildflower seed next spring. Sounds like there's not enough flowers for the bees to make honey to share. You might want to build a small high tunnel for the bees for winter protection. I liked your canning recipes as well. You folks take care. Vaughn
The garden looks so beautiful!! Eric that quiche turned out epic! Turnip greens are one of my favorite greens to cook. Your chickens are eating good. Arielle I've never heard of squash relish or Rose Hip ketchup. Both look amazing. I love garlic but never had it fresh from the garden. Love thedrone view of your property; totally breath taking!!
Turnip greens are my favorite too. I’ve been picking mine & cooking them for the past month here in TN. I’ve never heard of squash relish or rose hips either.
The highlight of my day! Another wonderful video, another wonderful view of your daily life. That aerial shot of the pond/lake? was breathtaking. Those white spots in the water were just like stars in the sky. Such beautiful scenery and such hard work for both of you. Enjoy your life and all my best wishes to you!!
ahhh that quiche looks sooo good. all the colors. when you added that last tomato slice right before you threw it into the oven, it looks like a work of art
I remember building my Business in Montreal as a Stockbroker inviting people to eat quiche, drink wine and listen to Financial Gurus...Quiches are a great food for road trips also...Vive la Quiche lorraine..Great Videos..Keep on trucking..nice aerial shots
I look forward to your video's and the arial shots of the countryside.....AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL!!!! I am starved now watching the canning and preparation of your meals, yummy. Rose-hip Ketchup? You come up with the greatest idea's, love learning. You work so hard and it shows in your garden that blesses you with so much in delicious veggies and fruit. :-)
We learned quite a few new things today. Had never heard of zucchini relish or the rosehips ketchup. You’re making me hungry with all your wonderful cooking! Great video. Thanks!
You won't believe this! Today, my 2-egg breakfast included 2 double-yolk eggs. They were included in a 6-pack of Trader Joes's organic, free range eggs. According to my research, this usually occurs with pullets believed to be due to the beginning formation of their egg laying organs. Alternatively, double-yolkers occur with older hens who are nearing the end of their egg laying life. Absolutely love your chickens! Glossy feathers, clear-eyed and happy attitudes. Must be all that great food and love you give them.
This rose hip ketchup receipe and process was genius. We have SO MANY where I live and have always wanted to make something other than jelly! Thank you!
You made me hungry watching you making squash relish. Good video. I have always heard it takes 2 years to get honey. I watch another homesteading channel that sets a different style of hive. I don’t know now if excluding the Queen from the super is a good idea. I believe the important part is that you have healthy brood and capped honey. Your winters are cold and long and it will be hard to get through the winter. Best of luck to the two of you.
Good old Pyrex,, can't beat it.... Maybe the eggs,, As a Landscape gardener myself I grow fruit and vegetables for me and my family and customers too... We have been self sufficient noe for 10 years,, haven't been to a supermarket in 10 years... Great Great video.
Garden looks great! You can pickle all types of zucchini or summer squashes same way as cucumbers:make dill pickles, do like antipasti salad (in winter just boil some rice or potatoes or pasta and open a jar full of summer aromas) or you can spread in top of any bread-delicious...cubed zuchhini, onions tomatoes garlic beets cabbage-almost any veggie you have , boil everything for 20-30 min until veggies are al dente, add sugar salt to taste , 1/2 cup of veg.oil and acv to taste, fill up jars and -water bath for 15 min and can store at home temperature for years. after you can either warm it up in stews or eat cold...
I got to tell you I love the drone footage it's so beautiful. I see that your fur baby is still working on the pond.. lol. Your meal look delicious tonight as always.
Excellent video Guys. I do the same thing to dry out my garlic, hang them in my Shelter Logic shed. But I take string tie a knot on the two loose ends and do a girth hitch on the cross beam. Take your bunch of garlic wrap 2 to 3 times and pass the end loop through the 2 lines coming down from the hitch and place a toggle through the end loop. Now you can reuse it for next years drying of garlic. Thanks Guys.
You are so lean & you eat so well! OMG...what a plate! That plate was not big enough for all that food. I look at your harvest & compare it to what I see in stores & you know it does not compare. Have a blessed day.
If you were my kids i would be so proud of you both. Your knowledge maturity and wisdom is amazing 🙏
I'm catching up on all your older videos. I love the way you stick in a shot of your cat or dog in the middle of everything else. Always brings a smile to my face.

Just awesome, the entire video. Your food is absolutely appetising. So active and productive, a well deserved dinner and rest. Love all the fantastic shots of peaceful nature. I can feel your hearts in all of them. That’s way you’re there. 🌱💕
Молодцы ребята! Такое большое хозяйство! Всё так аккуратно и чисто и правильно! ЛАЙК!!!!!!
Eric and Ariel warding off the undead...lol. That caterpillar is a Monarch, probably looking for milkweed to form it's chrysalis. Thank you for showing us how prolific your garden is and how resourceful you can be when foraging.
I love each new video you post! Seeing the way you harvest, eat and live and be excited about it makes it so enjoyable to watch.
Wow the drone shot at 1:03 🥰 this video gave me a sense of peace and calm in the midst of the unknown
That was pretty amazing
For a truck driver you make a mean quichie. Looks great, Thanks for the video kids, and keep up the good work.
It’s nice to see a man who makes quiche. Your relationship is so equal. You make a perfect team. Maybe with the exception of laundry, ha ha.
I love your chicken flock! It's awesome to see them free-ranging - I've certainly learned a lot about what chickens will eat, both from you guys and from Justin Rhodes... It's been amazing to see them go after meat, fish - all kinds of things!
Can’t live your life without garlic! Garlic is a must! Awesome harvest
I agree. I grow hard neck garlic. It pained me to give some to my so - but he is always begging for garlic. This year I told him he had to grow his own - what I gave him was for seed, not for eating !
My garlic did not look that good! What kind was yours? Please and thank you.

I always let my zuchinni wirh salt mixed in sit overnight in the fridge.

You have the best fed chickens ever. They will eat anything it seems.

Opening sequence was really beautiful! Well done. That drone shot with the clouds in reflection in the lake, wonderful!

@Susie Goodwin Hey, the bees need raw material for honey production. They need more flowers. Buying seeds in bulk is a good idea. Vaughn

Turnip greens are my favorite too. I’ve been picking mine & cooking them for the past month here in TN. I’ve never heard of squash relish or rose hips either.
Save the best and biggest garlic cloves for planting, eat the smaller. This helps keep the garlic growing larger. I learned that the hard way.
Great drone photography.
The highlight of my day! Another wonderful video, another wonderful view of your daily life. That aerial shot of the pond/lake? was breathtaking.
