The point of House is that he is more inclined to always diagnose based on the fact that the patient lies, but even he has gotten diagnoses wrong. He needs people to stop him when he goes too far, that's why he goes far enough to make people hate him so he people don't start fully believing in all of his diagnoses.

My stepsister has Lyme, and it has ruined her life. She’s been sick for years. She can’t work, she has massive hospital bills, she feels like no one will want her so she doesn’t date, and she can only rarely attend her daughters school sports events.
She went from a state champion athlete and college graduate to someone who can barely get around, and has to get help from our parents with bills. It’s heartbreaking.

He fell sick and thought he was about to become paralyzed because he couldn’t move his legs as much.
When he went into the hospital they thought he had cancer forming at the spine because there was a small bump, they cut open that bump and found a tick, the skin grew over it.
He said like 3 days later he immediately felt better.

    They passed.
I did notice they wanted to stay in more and watch movies, despite the fact we always go out. I never questioned it, because they were my friend, and I just wanted to see them. I'm glad I gave them comfort before their passing... You never know what someone's going through... One of the men had went out of town for a few days because his uncle was dying so family from all around went to visit him to say their goodbyes. So while the uncle was on his deathbed someone noticed something weird in his scalp, so they called in the nurse and it turned out to be a tick. So the doctor removed it and treated him and he ended up fully recovering. The host said it was really weird because one minute you're crying and saying goodbye, and then the next minute he's fine.

I know someone who was at my church for a brief time before i had to move away, she was paralyzed from the waist down. They found out almost a year & a gazillion tests later that it was a tick, i think on her scalp. They removed it, she will have to take meds for Lyme disease from now on but eventually made a full recovery.

@nahhnever3135 Sometimes you do, and honestly, sometimes you don't.
Not all ticks carry conditions that cause complications to humans and complications don't happen immediately after a bite.....it's not like snake venom or spider bites.
If you go hiking in areas that are highly frequented by deer, bear or are heavily wooded.....you should always check afterwards.
It is advised to wear a form of mosquito repellant or something that has DEET in it before you get dressed to go hiking, etc.
Your pets should also be checked whenever they go hiking, etc with you.
It is possible that you thought you might've gotten bit by a mosquito so you swatted it but didn't check or maybe you felt a pinch and thought "oh let me re-adjust the hiking backpak....." not saying it will always, most definitely happen, but one should be mindful, that it can happen.

Healthcare professionals use a trial-and-error method to identify effective treatments, similar to real physicians who persist until finding a successful solution. Fortunately, we were not part of the initial thousands of attempts in medical history. Due to the complexity of Dr. House's cases, most of his patients would likely not have survived under normal circumstances. While dealing with a straightforward case I believe house would demonstrate exceptional ethical behavior, in general, healthcare providers often face instances of misdiagnosis. Patients must navigate uncertainties, relying on medical professionals' expertise to unravel internal complexities. Dr. House's willingness to take risks, regardless of potential legal consequences, showcases his dedication to saving lives. Although his approach may present challenges if inaccuracies persist, it is better to trust a practitioner who dares to explore unconventional paths rather than opting for the easiest route in the face of uncertainty.

    • @MsAubrey

I learnt somewhere that if you find a tick you shouldn’t just pull it out as the body will likely detach from the head and will cause blood to keep coming out (because it’s still biting you and sucking the blood I think). Instead you get fishing wire or something small or similar and make a knot - but don’t put it tight yet! You’ll put it around the ticks neck and lightly pull so that it retracts its fangs/mouth (not sure what it has). Then you can even use the wire and pull it off gently.

Ticks are no joke. I got rocky mountain spotted fever from a infected tick. Took Dr's 10 days to figure out what it was. My kidneys started losing function and my heart was under distress. They said by 2 weeks all my organs would've started shutting down. Took months to recover.

Ticks get big when they consume a lot of blood. That tick was there for quite a bit.

    Every short of this show:
    1. House comes up with a wild conclusion.
    2. Nurse and doctors dismisses him.
    3. Turns out he's correct.

I got a tick one time in the Army. In hospital, it felt agonising. But to be honest, the entire time, I just had faith in Christ that I’d pull out of this. Even though I anticipated the worst out of it, how entitled would it be to say God doesn’t love me over a small challenge in a trial life? But thankfully, I managed to leave hospital with nothing serious.
