Great videos! and thanks for sharing. I just finished watching all 4 videos. Really impressed with the gentle and clean job your doing. I am sure it's an inspiration to others. It will be great if you could please share the tightening torque of the fasteners going to the engine block! Thanks again!
How much does a shop usually charge for a job like this? I'm sure every Bimmer with over 80k miles.need this job unless it was done already. Yeah they are nice cars but they are o ver engineered. I think ima ride mine to it gives out then im done. I have an 07 4.8 e70. Nice ride but 2 many issues I have to do the throttle harness cuz its putting up the code. And the shops want 1k+. But good vids.
Thank you for your time consuming videos. I just bought a 2010 bmw x5 suv, it has a bad oil leak. Is it possible it might be an oil sending unit pressure switch? I just got the car yesterday. Thank you.
I have one just like that. I don't know who hired the head engineer at BMW but jeez. That guy needs to earn a medal for doing just enough to get to the warranty expiration. Its like all of them gathered around and said, we need to make these good only up until the warranty expires. The whole thing is plastic, plastic and more plastic. My valve seals are lightly leaking but I am not paying more for repairs I'm sticking to oil changes and the like until it doesn't run any more. I will ride it to the junkyard. Already spent more than $4500 on a car that costed me $10k with really low mileage too! I bought it with only 88k miles just imagine what a 120k mile BMW is like. Should've stuck with the Japanese manufacturers- A Lexus or something. Never again unless its 0 miles and under warranty. You live and you learn. Okay, rant over *sigh* Very instructional video! I finally see why it cost so much to service and maintain Bimmers.
Omar Vizcaino I am sad to hear your story. I seen it many times with Euro cars. I always recommend to get low mileage and warranty or extended warranty. Other wise is a money pit!
BMW does not care about your used BMW they are only make cars to last till warranty after that its on the second buyer...why do u think you get a $80000 suv for less than $20000 10 yrs later....if are not mechanically inclined then yes BMW is not the car for you....I agree with you but yet BMW is selling more cars than all of those makers..and after all this people are still going to buy them
How much did this job run the customer with parts replaced and all?? This seems very time consuming.
That small cover is very curious thing to put on a cylinder head! Top notch repair Maic. Thanks!

Man, you are sharp. You narrate very well. No doubt I'll watch and pass the word on.
Did you end up replacing the spark plug tubes that you had to pry off the valve covers? or did you use the same ones upon assembly?
I always replace them.
