@Trace Fleeman Garcia Bravo for apologizing. I caught the scholar stone/Suiseki passion. a few years back, I did a deep dive into the natural vs. man-handled, it is very controversial, but many claim natural, but are not. I am willing to bet these in the video have had some work, at the very least oiled. IMO, they are all worthy of praise. I look forward to being able to travel again, and go East , maybe China, but maybe not. I love my trees an rocks, haha.
Learned a good lesson from mr smith......suiseki search in the pacific nw, Seattle, I was looking for a big suiseki to display in my tokonoma....Sean by his personal search taught me the value of looking for a very small suiseki from the right color and hardness of the stone, not size.
Thanks for your informative video. Well done. And now a question: Are the Suiseki usually cut off flat on the bottom by using a machine, or are they found that way in nature? I assume they are cut, but just don't know.
No. @5:35, after going through the list of various manipulative efforts over YEARS of stunting and shaping it; "...admire the tree for it's natural beauty" is like saying you appreciate someone's "natural" operatic singing voice - they are both the pinnacle of cultivation and contrivance.
I really enjoyed the video!
Two of my favorite people..
As always informative and interesting. Thank you
Concentrated guidance and artistry- much appreciated.
Bonsai and suiseki is the oldiest art but still influence around the world. Nice video my friend, happy working with nature.

Great video, but not mention of whether the stones are modified in any way after being collected.
@Trace Fleeman Garcia I know that but others might not. It's an important point to mention.

So you don't cut a flat bottom to them?

The intro music to this, is used on a different channel I watch frequently, about boxing and MMA. I got confused for a second.
