Every time I hear Felix say "Hello UA-cam!" it makes the world feel like a better place.
Yes! I agree 10000000%!!! I wish I had found these videos a long long time ago! He popped up as a recommended video one night and after watching it, I haven’t been able to get enough!
OMG a UA-cam bushcrafting first!!!! Someone who actually knows how to use wedges and chocks to split wood instead of abusing the knife! Amazing how effective it is yet all the UA-cam "experts" never mention it yet alone demonstrate it. Thanks Felix for showing people how to split wood without abusing their equipment!
Thank you so much for this positive feedback!!!
Yep especially when they claim to be showing survival skills. Beating the hell out of my knife and risking breaking it is not my idea of a smart survival strategy.
Absolutely. It’s easy for them (the “experts”) when they are sponsored by the companies that make the knives they are destroying lol. Don’t ruin you equipment, we used to know this.
Hi Felix, good job! Just a little hint - when you throw the boomerang hold it on the short end and have the long end point in the direction of flight. Basically opposite you have thrown in the video. That might improve your flights too! Might be too late since you did the video in April - but maybe next year you make a new boomerang :)
Thanks for the tip!
100% correct!
Felix always brightens my day with crafts with the SAK!! My boomerang 🪃 won't come back !!! Love you from USA 🇺🇸 ❤
I appreciate your positive feedbacks very much!
@@FelixImmler always my friend ♥️
Love the collaboration with Julius aka Mr. Smooth Gefixed
Thanks a lot Tomas!
That's really cool Felix, nice work. It's all the more interesting seeing it made with a Swiss army knife.
Thanks a lot Marshall!
I have witnessed him creating so many wonderful things with a SAK. Having done so, I am convinced he could build a nuclear submarine using nothing other than just one of his many SAKs!!!!!
When I was about 10 years old, over 60 years ago, Popular Mechanics had an article on making a boomerang. I made a left-handed one out of 3/8" (9 mm) plywood. Worked great and had a lot of fun until it broke. Your video reminded me of the good old days. Thanks for the video and the memories.
Hello Joe. Thanks a lot for your nice story!! Storys like this makes me happy!
Were you 101st airborne "screaming eagles"?
My uncle from my mom's side was during Vietnam war. He unfortunately passed away about 9-10 years ago. His name was Herman Culkar.
@@grizzlycountry1030 I was Sgt. JOE, 101st ABN. 3/506. Infantry. 1969-70. Now I'm just another old man with a lot of good memories.
Are you crazy??? 9mm plywood???? Mine is 5mm 10ply, birch and it's too thick, you must be crazy, 9mm could kill someone, you too (if it work, but 9mm seem crazy)
@@samuelebaiano6505 At ten years old, I couldn't very well drive to Home Depot, even it would have been around. 3/8" was all I hade available so that's what I used. You're right. It was heavy and could have caused harm, but what ten year old would think of that. Anyway, it was left-handed and it worked great.
You threw it backwards and released just over 90 degrees. Badass video man!
Danke Tommie!
I wish you success in your fork boomerang, Felix. Thanks for the video.
Thanks a lot! :-D
Wow!
What a gorgeous valley view from where you were throwing the boomerang...
Brings a smile to my face Swiss army knifes can do that. people under estimate a Swiss army knife 130 years such good knifes quality knifes.
Dr. SAK will never forget this boomerang video, because the memory will come back to him. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching my friend!
As always Felix you make a fun and entertaining video! Thumbs up to your cameraman!!
Thanks a lot Andi!!
Just taking a moment to think how extraordinary it was that someone invented the boomerang!
that's true!
Vielen Dank lieber Kai! Ja, wäre cool dich mal zutreffen. LG
Please keep up your fantastic hacks and projects with the SAK
Thanks a lot Mike!!
Its a good project. You make it very well. Make it come back its another story!
Thank you, I will
It's necessary to have one arm of the boomerang lighter than the other, and is best achieved with one tip carved with the profile roughly the size of a dessert spoon, but on the reverse (flat) side of the tip, to enhance the turning impulse. It's also very important to launch to one side of the prevailing (very light) wind, so the boomerang is slightly assisted in its return toward the end of the flight. A strong flick of the wrist when launching to "whip" the boomerang upward and ever so slightly angled also will very much help with the return. The flick can also be better achieved by launching the boomerang when it is correctly orientated, but held by the other arm, so it looks a little like a pistol, that is with the 'barrel' pointing forward and away from you as you launch it.
I made my first (left handed) boomerangs more than forty years ago, but it's a great feeling when you make them well enough so they come back, and even when you can catch it, but be careful, they can not only break themselves, they can break you!
Greetings from Scotland!
hello my friend. Thank you so much for your valuable hints! Super interessting!
Hello Felix. It's almost a week I first saw you in UA-cam, and I have seen more than 20-30 videos if you. Happy to watch you. Greetings from Greece
You’re an amazing craftsman, highly skilled. You are also a good teacher. And, you have fun while doing something useful. Yah
Hank your.

Danke Noel!
We can learn perseverance from this video, a good lesson of life. Actually a lot of people need a lot of perseverance on these hard days. Grazie Felix.
Hello Leonardo. Thanks a lot for this true words!
I'm learning about the knives. I'm a law enforcement officer in the USA. My snipers will be issued the ranger grip 79. For field craft that knife will do whats needed
Felix, you are a champion, you inspire me to act. Best regards and good health during the epidemic.
Thanks a lot dear Tomasz!
This video was part of home schooling for my boy! Quarantine is probably better than school 😉💪
Thanks a lot for this comment! greeting to you and your boy!
My sons won't see the videos I recommend; they are 16 and 17, I've lost all my influence and they watch stupid videos of people farting all day. It is depressing.
@@JavierBonillaC social media are bad if not used properly, inlcuding youtube. But they can also be a great resource. Hope your boys will find interest in something more constructive.

You have such a nice demeanor! Fun project!
Your vids really do show what is possible with these little knives. Little knife, big task.
Thanks a lot Jim!
Hi Felix, nice shout and great job. It looks like a real Australian Aborigine.
Accidents happen and when only glue resolves ... they are just minor accidents.
Congratulations for the video, it was very good. Thanks!

Haaa ha haaa, yes this is the next project 😂😂
@@FelixImmler I can hardly wait!!!! I am giddy with anticipation... although, I must admit, I am wary about how you might achieve Nuclear fission with a SAK.... 🤔🤔🤔.... 🤣 🤣 🤣
Good video, Felix! It reminds me of an old joke - what do you call a boomerang that doesn't come back? A stick.
Looking forward to your next video.
German?
I Just told this Joke and saw this later😂😂😂
No, i am from Switzerland.
🤣 🤣
Most boomerangs were not meant to come back
Viel Spass beim Ausprobieren!
Felix that was fun to watch. Great job. You are inspiring. Thank you. Best wishes.
The only thing stranger than watching a guy carve a boomerang with a pocket knife, is watching two guys carving boomerangs with a pocket knives!!! :>)> VERY GOOD!!!

I can see you put a lot of hard work into this project. Good job, Felix and Julius. I can tell you dedicated a lot of time to it.
Yes Tim...that's true!!
Hello 👋!!
Thanks for this video 🇨🇭!!
Thanks a lot Valentin!
I'd venture to say that the first man that smoothed a throwing stick with a stone tool was amazed when it flew in an arc. It probably took a considerable amount of time to aeronautical engineer it into a weapon that returned to him. Enjoyed watching your first attempt. I'd say there is a "learning curve!" 😉
Haaa ha ha haaaa, yes that's true....yes that's true !!!
THANK YOU very much dear Felix
Thanks a lot for watching!
Excellent video and project!
Thank you so much Big Al!

Felix, I can learn more of five minutes of one of your videos than I do in some people whole collection.
Thank you so much Benjamin!
Fantastic video! You are very good man...good life! Very compliment!
Thanks a lot Nicola!
You made one that came back. With some experimentation in throwing it you will eventually have it come back to you (you may have to dodge it to keep from getting hit). Years ago I made some boomerangs out of plywood copying a plastic Whammo boomerang, and I was successful. Eventually it will come back to you so that you can catch it, and that is a great feeling, like magic but most often I had to dodge it as it was going too fast to catch. I’m left handed so I made some I could throw with my left hand. I made a small light one that did not go very far (my backyard wall small at the time) and I often was able to catch it on the return. Wind has a great affect on its flight both for good and bad depending on the wind strength and direction.
Thanks a lot for your interesting comment!
Hallo Felix,
toll gemacht.
Respekt!
Liebe Grüße, schönes Wochenende & bleib gesund

Nice work. You are putting out very nice videos. Much respect. Greetings from Slovenia.
Thank you very much!
How awesome to see the two of you together. I'm a big fan of both channels. Hopefully you do more collaborations together.
I believe the problem is the operator rather than the Boomerang 😉👍... That's a very neat Boomerang job!!!
Great video, your hard work pays off, it flew well in an arc, and carved from a branch with a knife, top work sir
Thanks a lot for you nice feedback!
Felix makes the amazing things every Friday. This is gripping video, thank you!

Hallo Felix! Super Projekt. Und das alles mit dem Taschenmesser. Respekt!

@@FelixImmler You're welcome!
Great attempt snd I hope your next attempt is even more successful!
I hope so too!
Ima try this tomorrow, great videos, you are dedicated 👍
Haa ha haa, one day is probably not enough :-D
You might consider adding "Smooth Gefixt" or bigger picture/likeness of the man in the thumbnail next time or in the future with other collaborations. two of some of my favorite UA-camrs! of course if you actually wanted that to be a surprise to folks coming across the video I understand.
I’ve had the ranger grip 79 for a while now, I find it i sturdy and capable tool, but I’m not a fan of the corkscrew as it is too large to house the mini screwdriver and it is a bit on the bendy side, especially with wine bottles. Yet another project we’ll done Felix, keep the videos coming.
Thanks a lot for your interesting feedback!

Vielen Dank Thomas!!
Making a boomerang that doesn’t come back seems like it would be easier than making one that comes back to you. Indigenous Australians used both types. The non-returning boomerangs were heavier and were used for large game hunting and warfare. The returning boomerangs were used for hunting small game and birds.
Yep the long nonreturning one is called a Kylea (spelling?)
The returning ones were used to scare birds into nets as it looks like a hawk.
I agree...that the nonretournig flyes straight it is a hard peace of work it think..
Thanks a lot for your comment!
