Lovely. This is my exact pool. I absolutely love it. My husband and I had done this with an old outdoor storage cabinet similar to this one. It worked great. We just now upgraded to a standing height storage unit with a door and a window. I like how you added cross ventilation here. I will put an opening in near the bottom of our new one to work with the window. Nice video. Thank you.
Not bad for homemade! There is a company that makes custom storage boxes like this but out of metal but are expensive this idea works great and looks pretty damn good!
Excellent workmanship. I am setting up a Intex 26ft x 52in and looking for a pump house, and your setup is ideal. The vents are a great idea to keep the pump cool. Well done video; I will be doing videos of my build. Thank you, NW cold Montana here.
I love the idea you can store chlorine out there. My only concern was the pump might get a little overheated, but I think you’ve done a great job. I’d even put a light inside on the switch but a great job.
Thank you for posting this video. It's very helpful. We have a new pool and I'm trying to figure out how to enclose the pump, filter, etc. Your set up is very similar to ours. One curious thing I noticed is you have two pipes coming off the top of the saltwater cell. One is the main return line that goes out the side of the shed and a smaller one that goes out the back. You don't mention the latter. Where does that go and what does it do?
Like your setup. I have an above ground pool too. Was wondering if you live in an area where it freezes occasionally in the winter, and, what you do to winterize this? I'm looking at doing something similar so I don't have to unhook and store my pump / filter every year. Would save time to include fixing connection leaks every season. I also have a salt water system but mine installs vertically. Just replaced a corroded Doughboy pool with an all vinyl pool last year which was a pain to install but now don't have to worry about rust.
It is very easy to use hard PVC and it lasts a lot longer. You just need to put in plenty of unions and you can take everything apart in about 15 minutes.
@@jhall2242 Where did you mention you get your pvc from? General box store? Did you heat the run you have going from skimmer to pump to get it to flex like that?
What about does your area freeze? I left mine out when you’re all clean nice all covered up and it ended up having a couple of devices on there. A couple of pipes froze and broke but yeah maybe if you got every all the water out if I was better at that, maybe I’ll put a reverse blowout valve for my shop vac deck and blow all the air out and leave everything in one place I’m getting tired of moving it.
Just mount it to the outside of the 'shed'; be sure to have a standoff because the back gets hot, and a deflector for the exhaust to keep the plastic from melting. A small metal sloping 'roof' to keep the rain off. We are using a natural gas instant bathroom heater with a separate pump and timer and is cheap and works great.
Hi Jason, what tool did you use to cut out a square opening for the 2 vents on the shed? Also how did you run the electric through the shed? Where is the main outlet to plug everything in? I have a Hayward 21" plys pro series to go with it. Will that pump require me to get a vent fan or is a regular vwnt like what you have ok?
I used a drill bit to start a hole then used a reciprocating saw to cut the rest for the vents. The electric is underground and is popped up through the bottom in the back center wall. I bought a 3/4” double gang box and an outdoor cover for it. It is in the video behind the filter.

Wow, great idea. You nailed this!

THIS is freaking awesome, great job!

That 1” line goes to a little fountain that sprays water. It has a valve on it.
Love your setup.
This is genius!
Looks great 😃
Definitely awesome
I’m gonna make that under my pool deck

I live in West Virginia and it definitely freezes here. I remove the equipment every winter.
Have you been able to keep it sealed enough to keep mice from nesting in there?
I have not had any mice yet. But if I do I will set a trap. A mouse will get in there if he wants to 🐹
What is your process for winterization? I am hesitant to do rigid PVC vs. flex because of winterization. Am I overthinking it? I live in NH.
It is very easy to use hard PVC and it lasts a lot longer. You just need to put in plenty of unions and you can take everything apart in about 15 minutes.
@@jhall2242 Where did you mention you get your pvc from? General box store? Did you heat the run you have going from skimmer to pump to get it to flex like that?
it is regular 2” pvc. The 2” flex pvc is pool/spa pvc. I bought it all from Ace Hardware
@@jhall2242 Thanks very much!
Nice setup..How did you cut the holes to run the pvc pipe through the box?
Big hole saw on a cordless drill.
Man i was just talking to my wife about that so i dont need to keep removing the pump during winter

Very nice set up how did you trim the floor to fit around the motor and pump? I'm definitely going this route.
I didn’t trim the floor. I cut a piece of rubber stall mat from Ace and put my pump on it.
Great video! I am trying to figure out a way to hide/ shelter my gas pool heater. Do u think ur method could work?
No. Those need a bunch of fresh air.

Some areas do not want pumps located close to the pool to avoid people getting in from on top of them.
How much did that setup run$$ you? Looks dialed

Use flexible conduit for wire
You just cut a power strip head off and attach it to a outlet btw
