Thanks for the help! Did this process about 3 times on my 95 M3. Before this the coolant wouldn’t stay in the expansion tank without bubbling and overflowing once car started heating up. After doing this, no more issues 👍
For flushing : you could also disconnect the pipe at the bottom of the tank. place that pipe into your drain pan. Then disconnect the feed pipe to the top of the rad. Loosen both clamps, disconnect the rad side of the pipe and rotate the pipe to face upward. Then tighten the engine side clamp. Once tight you can fill that pipe with D/W to help the flush. Nice vid.
Bro, I dont get one thing. After you saw the water is clear in your bowl, you just used a clean 100% concentrate coolant ? How much did you use? How much is the water still inside since you drained it before you used 100% concentrate coolant ? How can we know its 50-50?
Do you know something about it, what type of coolant should be used according to the climate of a country or region? I understand that the blue coolant that everyone recommends, the one you used in this video, is very good for cold climates, but in my case, I live in a hot country, and in my city there are never climates below 20 degrees Celsius. I appreciate any help, I do not find official information about it
The color is only a differentiating factor between companies, color doesn’t really translate to a real world difference. Hot or cold, mix it 50/50. Mixing it like this not only helps prevent freezing, but keeps expansion, steaming and corrosion at minimum! And use the blue coolant since it’s oem bmw!
Mix one part coolant and one part distilled water. The amount varies since this method doesn’t involve unbolted the block drain which holds a significant amount of coolant. The idea of this method to use dilution to get all new coolant inside.
Hey I know this video is old but I did a coolant change and the car only took 1 gallon and a half of coolant should I flush the system again to be sure I didn’t make a mistake?
You have to premix according to the Instructions on your coolant, whichever one you add first doesn’t matter as long as the resulting mixture is according to spec.
why didnt you just drain the block, theres a drain plug in the side of the block for this reason , and the coolant should be 50/50 coolant/water not neat
Hey! Thanks for the advice! This method specifically avoids using the block drain to encourage doing flushes more often. The coolant split is also completely dependent on the product your using!
Looks like the Climate Control unit needs the .47uF 50V capacitor resoldered (or just change it out for the 60 cents that it costs). 99% of the time, that will fix the problem with it. :-)
Never had a cooling issue. Orginal system, just came off the hottest summer on record. Then again I know how to treat a car,not beat it then call it junk when it hreaks
common sense really not to handle toxic crap and makes in easier to work, but not nearly so rough and tough though eh? btw I am at the far end of boomer-ism and being willing to learn, and adapt wear gloves

Thanks for this video! I'm about to do mine today and I'll be having this video on repeat! Just picked up a 98 323is and very excited to get it going.

Thanks for the trick!! I’ll try it out next time!
then won't it leave some tap water in engine ? I prefer to the method in this channel, it will make sure only left the distill water in the engine.
PLEASE make a video of you draining the block of coolant. My drain plug is stuck behind my O2 sensor...
Have to keep an eye on engine temp with the engine running. It will overheat fast because you have not bled the air out of the system.
Hot damn! Running the heater is genius!
No it's common sense
what if my heater doesn’t work what should i do ?
boutta go flush my ass thanks
AC needs capasitor change 0.47. Also sometimes loosen socket can be do this. Well done.

Good question
He said in the beginning that the coolant was premixed
The filling and the drain plug is on the same side for my E36...
So you flushed out green coolant but you added in blue? I have green coolant in my E36
Thx
Great clear video!
Thanks for the info my brother.
can I know the name of the song you used in the montage?

@@ryancsl thanks a lot 🙏🏽
you can just use distilled water in a tropical country
You cant use destiled water since it has no corrosion agents inside. You need at least 1/3 coolant 2/3 destiled water mix if in tropical climate.
how much gallons do you need after you refill it with coolant ? any one knows
This process was a flush so we had excess and just stopped when it looked clean enough.
keep it up bro!
Sweet video and bad ass ride.
Appreciated!
Thnks for the video. You have an awesome car and even more awesome dad. Good luck!
how many coolant bottles u put it inside?

Thank you so much. Thank you.

Wont hurt to flush again 👍🏻
Did you premix the coolant at all? i hope you did.
Mixed it in the engine. Filled up with coolant then let it run and filled the rest with water. Ended up being perfect 50/50
So after flushing out the old coolant, did you add only 1 gallon of new coolant? and did you add distilled water too?
You have to premix according to the Instructions on your coolant, whichever one you add first doesn’t matter as long as the resulting mixture is according to spec.
what wheels ?
They are stock wheels called “m-contours”

True. I've done that and my climate control unit is okay and blower is now working.

wow, legend
I didn’t see him mixing with distilled water. Watch out 😮
Pretty sure BMW blue is premixed
I mixed it 👍🏻
Wish you wouldve removed the block plug
Usually creates a HUGE mess. This is a method that avoids it by flushing.
@@ryancsl that true.. there isn't too many videos on removing the block plug
