Hey guys, I've seen a lot of people genuinely asking about this topic so I wanted to clarify here: Why is the Spinosaurus in Carnivores so small?
Yes, according to the fossil record, Spinosaurus of our own Earth's past is believed to be larger than T.rex. But Carnivores does not take place on Earth. It takes place on an alien planet where these alien "dinosaurs" evolved differently, specifically along the lines of outdated paleoart reconstructions, like those of Zdenek Burian or Charles Knight. The Spinosaurus of Carnivores lore is a comparatively small, agile predator that hunts well by running down herbivorous dinosaurs in open floodplains or in swampy areas.
I hope this clears up some confusion about the topic. If anyone has anymore questions about why things in Carnivores appear the way they are, I'd be happy to help you out!

After what feels like an eternity, I'm finally back with a new video! And this time we get to cover the new update for Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter mobile! What do you guys think of the update?
And guys, thanks for being so patient! I'm trying to transition into a new career right now, so I don't have a lot of time to do much of anything, but hopefully if this works out I'll have more time to work on videos!

I want spinosaurus biggest and 25 thing I miss. 2 of them I known kupo.
Personally, I would like to see some more dinosaurs in the canon style. For instance, Therizinosaurus, Kentrosaurus, Monolophosaurus, Pachyrhinosaurus, Gastonia, Ornitholestes, Shunosaurus, Corythosaurus, Dracorex, and Irritator. I think these dinosaurs would fit right in with patterns using dark blues and purples for the Monolophosaurus and Kentrosaurus. The Irritator would be good for swamp hunting or jungle stocking with a muted green with counter-shading into an almost tan color. Dracorex could be a very rusty brown with specs of muted yellow or gold along the tail. These are a few dinosaur ideas. Some new ambiance would be good to see for certain areas. Some amphibians or crocodiles would fit right in with the swamps and small Dryosaurid type dinosaurs running in the jungles or grassland areas. New Pterosaurs would be great to see flying around. A new map could be added to an uncharted plains or savannah sector that could have been overlooked by explorers of Dinohunt Corporation. Here you would be able to stalk through tall grass and shrubs where small carnivores can hide and wait for passing Parasaurolophus herds, picking off injured or sick individuals from the herd. A clearing can be found toward the middle where hunters could find fresh water and shade. This does not come without a cost. Large carnivores stalk this area through the grass and trees waiting for unsuspecting dinosaurs or hunters to stumble across it for rest and resupply. A new weapon could be added. This could be a primitive weapon such as a bow or spear for those that like to take hunting to the extreme. I would love to hear what you think of this idea and if it would be good in your opinion. Keep up the great content and I hope to see more about Carnivores in the future.

I was showing my dad, one of the original Carnivores veterans out there, the new update on Dino Destroyer's channel and he was very pleased with it! He really digs the new skins and he and I are both looking forward to playing the Steam port when it happens! (Not giving up hope, now or ever.)

With regard to the sound clips, I've actually taken an interest recently in tracking down dinosaur and monster sound effects to their origins, and I might take a crack at tracking down the Carnivores sounds. I recently tracked down Bowser's Mario Kart 64 and Super Smash Bros. Melee sound effects to 1957's The Land Unknown and later 1976's King Kong, which honestly makes Nintendo 64 era Bowser feel like a dinosaur or kaiju, which is pretty groovy!
Lastly, huge thank you, Garrett (It was Garrett, right? Or Garret...?) for putting in such hard work for this great community and helping out Andry in all the ways you have. The fans are indeed what make this community so great, and you being such a strong voice among us is a very, very good thing.

Gotta admit, Andrey's dedication to trying to work with us in the community truly is excellent; and if we're getting more content then ever in the future, more power to him. I really love all the little things you two have done to really make the mobile games shine like they always should have.
I wonder if Andrey's perhaps vaguely hinting that he might be conceptualizing something related to CS; perhaps the new Coelo and Ovi models (and obviously their accompanying skins) might end up bearing a closer resemblance to CS' Coelo and Ovi to tie it loosely back into Tatem's lore for the franchise rather than the skins we have now (perhaps also to tie into the idea of sexual dimorphism being added to the games).
I also would advise other fans against judging Tatem as "decanonizing" Cityscape; because remember, canon establishes that CS takes place *after* C2 and IA; obviously those events have yet to happen in the Tatem timeline, since it's currently at the C2/IA point. So maybe Andrey isn't saying CS isn't *canonical* to the Tatem timeline in that it *never* happened, but that it's not canon because it's just *not happened yet* in their timeline? Food for thought, I'd say.
Great thoughts, and thank you for the kind words, friend! Hopefully we'll be able to fully return Carnivores to glory before too long, with or without Cityscape's return. Who knows? Maybe there's something even better in the works...

Yay. Saurian is here, and this update is great. But that Easter Egg, this was my reaction. Ooh wow, a black rectangle that serves little purpose and really wasn’t rewarding. I do love how they made the Spino small, but they made him slightly bigger to make him more terrifying in my opinion. And I really like the Coelphisis. The Utah is kinda meh. Everything else is great.

Well I'm here in 2023 and I can say I definitely miss the old designs especially the carnotaurus for some reason when I was little I thought the carnivores carnotaurus was the coolest thing ever

I personally think the Troodon, Utahraptor, and Coelophysis need to be improved upon, they just don't look nearly as good as the other skins. Apart from that, this update was amazing!
I hope that a behavior update will also have dinosaurs eating, drinking, and acting like real animals. It irks me to see a Tyrannosaurus walking along with a Stegosaurus.
It might take a while, but improving the A.I. is planned for future updates!

Maybe instead of taking away the feathers on Utahraptor and Gigantoraptor, we could just consider it a “rare” feathered dinosaur. This will make them unique. Because feathered dinosaurs don’t come to mind when people talk about FMM UV-32
If they keep the feathers, they'll at least need to make them look better than they do now. The Utah is kinda scraggly and the Gigantoraptor's little feather patch just looks dumb, IMO. Feathers could work if done properly, I just haven't seen it done well yet (officially, anyway).

One feature I've always wanted to see in carnivores is the dinosaurs fighting each other. For example carnivores hunting herbivores or carnivores fighting over food and/or territory

Man, I haven't played carnivores in years. Last time I checked it out was when Iguanodon and coelophysis. Coming back to it was such a blast. The description updates, map updates, and more detailing are great to see. Now I must say... I am a fan of the old skins over the skins. Don't get me wrong. I really like the addition of details like muscle, veins, bumps, etc., and the skins in general aren't bad. However, I think the new colors and patterns of them look kind of plain, and they all blend into much with each other. I personally think it makes the dinos look mostly like a singular colored mass. If you put the color pallets and patterning of all the new skins next to one another, it would all look generally the same. The old skins really helped the dinos stand out and feel unique. What would be great to see is a skin customization for the dinosaurs that have had multiple skin iterations. That way everyone could be pleased.
Such a shame they didn't do more with this franchise. But in an odd way I feel like whatever they do make wouldn't be as charming, nore as entertaining as all of the fangames that this community has made.

But that's just a theory, a GAME theory, aanndd... cut.
I found a glitch in the new update. (You can do this glitch in any map or with any dinosaur selected) if you pick the shotgun (you can only do this with the shotgun) once you load up the map press the escape button with the shotgun in use keep on shooting the gun until you get the you have successfully escaped screen. Once you get that screen press done and go to your trophy room. When your in the trophy room you should still have the shotgun equipped but you can't shoot it. You should try it and i hope it works for you.

In my opinion I think depending on the size there should be different appearances like a giant cerato should look old and has big horns or something smaller sizes could look a little younger or a little faster than the bigger ones

They should make a carnivores game where you can hunt prehistoric sea creatures
So, in regard to the new skins, I like them, but I feel like the models might eventually need to adjusted to work better compared to the older dinosaurs. The Troodon is still too slender looking compared to other similar sized predators like the Allosaurus, so making it a little bulkier may be a good idea. The face of the Carnotaurus should be changed in shape a little to make the skin look better on it, and it should be a little bulkier and more muscular looking. The Iguanodon's head should be fixed so the animations can line up better, and the call should be changed, as you said. The Utahraptor still sticks out next to the other carnivores, so I think the feather crests should be removed, the arms pronated, the neck made a little thicker around the base of the head, and the textures made a little more rough. To be fair though, these aren't huge problems, they should just be adjusted at some point.
The only new dinosaur I really want to see is the Triceratops from C1, since Tatem already brought back the Pachycephalosaurus. Also, as you mentioned, different skins for the dinosaurs depending on whether they are male or female could be a neat detail, though I'm not sure if that would be a very important to add. More realistic dinosaur behavior, and a co-op hunting mode where you could hunt with a friend would be nice features at some point, though I'm not sure if that's possible right now.
At some point, a Triassic expansion to Dinosaur Hunter, if done right, could be nice to see. It would be pretty interesting to see Andrey's take on the animals and maps from Triassic. But that is probably not something that will be added anytime soon, so we'll see.
It honestly just makes me so happy to see that Carnivores is finally being bought back from the dead. After having so much silence on the Carnivores Facebook page, and very few updates for over a year, it's refreshing to see Andrey helping to bring the game back from the dead. #MakeCarnivoresGreatAgain
Thanks for the great thoughts and kind words, and I totally agree. New models are the endgame for these new dinosaurs (these skins are predominantly placeholders to tide us over until new models can actually happen), so I'm sure they'll fit in much better then!
It's been like 5 times I watch this video, it gives hope ! Thx for giving us the info saurian. It's obvious that you love making those vids. I'm eager to see what's next.
Btw : since I was like 6, I have like 100 drawings related to Carnivores( ye, I draw hundreds of drawings per year ) , many which are concept arts of an exact remaster of the og trilogy or even a c3 tour, I always think Carnivores could be bought and reworked as the fans wish.

Honestly they need to add the ladders in Raveren's Bridge back in, I don't see how having a "safe zone" is at all bad especially for beginners to get practice hunting more challenging animals. Contrary to what people supposedly complained about I really don't see it as "cheating" considering every predatory animal is either bigger than the hunter or certainly capable of quickly outrunning them.

I’m gonna say something else here. This is a great update. And Carnivores fans will definitely like this. I do have a slight concern that non Carnivores fans will not enjoy this update. And thus, this game might be less presentable to new audiences. It’s a small worry and I’m not sure if this is gonna happen.
My favourite reskin has gotta be the amargosaurus I love the way the eyes look and how the spikes have a nice blood red too it, it makes the dinosaur look very scary and creepy and the scutes are a nice touch too. My least favourite would be the ceolophysis because the green and white just don't really go well together it just doesn't look natural and stands out a little too much and I also dislike the blood too. And one more thing I think Andrey should make the spikes on the amargosaurus longer.
Quite the update, I generally agree with your opinions on the new skins and hope to see more improvements over time. It's great to see the mobile game getting back on track and I hope Ice Age gets a similar amount of love in the future.

I wish there was mapusaurus that is super sized and slow as it could be but has a huge weakness at the head and would hunt in packs and it can get you on top of a mountain ok the mountains would not be safe and water creatures like mousasaur to make the water unsafe too. That would be fun.
What a great time to be a fan of Carnivores! I really enjoy the new skins for the Tatem-made Dinosaurs, they feel like actual classic dinosaurs we could have got back in C2. I have been playing the mobile ports a lot more lately, the game just feels and looks more authentic to the original game. Now if only they could fix the Diatryma/Smilodon AI in the Ice Age port.

I definitely am starting to agree with your favourite skins. The coelo is a bit odd colour-wise, and in my opinion the Utahraptor looks great apart from the head, which really needs some touch-ups. And possibly the removal of the quills.
Nice! For me, the Utahraptor is such a toss-up because, on one had, it looks great, but on the other, it's so close to the original that it's like, "why bother?" I think with a bit more polish it could be something phenomenal.
I used to play this when I was a little kid and it scares me cuz they can jump out of you from nowhere and the grapichs was so Old that I loved it I still play this game

I would love to have been in your shoes for something I love like this - to have actually been allowed to write the flavor text for something as a fan is the greatest of honor, and a very great step forward for Tatem in showing their appreciation for their fans. I'm much more interested now to see where they take the future of this IP after our protests. It's good to know they listen.

I’m actually glad their removing the feathers for these dinos since although I can’t have one without feathers in real life, it gives the FM whatever a more alien look and feel. LOVE IT!

I think at some point they should make hunting challenges/contracts, like "Hunt three parasaurs in two minutes" or "Hunt three male ceolophysis", with penalties like you lose the contract if you shoot a female ceolophysis, or of course if you die (perhaps carnivore levels go on the high when you take the para quest). Rewards could be something like an overpowered weapon (rpg or laser sighted rifle maybe?) or a skill point you can collect or an upgrade or something. Honestly the challenge might be reward enough but extra stuff doesn't hurt...
100% agree (well, not so much about the RPG, but still :P). Little challenges like that would make the games so much more immersive and give so much replay value. I remember the old Cabela's games (back when they were actually pretty good) having side quests and contracts and I always looked forward to them.
I would love if the trophy area would automatically organize your dinosaurs from the biggest you’ve killed.
That would be nice! Personally, I'd like it if we could rearrange the trophies how we want.

All I can say is...great video and beautiful update! Tbh I kinda wanna see Tatem make a multiplayer Carnivores game. Something similar to theHunter: Call Of The Wild with some survival aspects. Idk how good that would sound to everyone, but I like the idea of a multiplayer Carnivores games.
Multiplayer is a big request among Carnivores fans. Maybe once the Steam port comes out we'll be able to make it a reality.

I'm glad to see CDH finally receiving some much-needed renovation to its assets, and I'm curious to see what direction it'll head, especially with the new canon-styled dinosaurs and lore additions. However, I can still make out a few issues with the newer dinosaurs....
They're definitely not perfect, but they're at least headed in the right direction!
I don't know about you guys but I would ship Saurian target with Spinosaures
Feathers on the Utah raptor can work, it'd be cool if maybe it can have different types of feathered styles, like a mohawk on some or a quill like look for another
Some Primal Prey Utahraptor feather ridges would be cool as well!
