10,000 years after its release, I'm finally back to cover the new Ice Age update! Now, I must retreat back into my hole in the ground... But first, what do you guys think of the new update?? Also guys, I've got some big work projects coming up, so unless some breaking Carnivores news drops, this will probably be the last video on the channel until the birthday party (don't forget to send me your submissions if you want to participate!), but hopefully it's enough to tide you guys over until then. Thanks again for your support and patience! Much love from ol' Mr. T!
if you like dinosaurs saurian target, i was just wanting to let you know about both a sci fi style dinosaur game called the isle and a more accurate and documentary style game called saurian. Saurian: store.steampowered.com/app/587450/Saurian/ The isle: store.steampowered.com/app/376210/The_Isle/ i think you would get a kick out of these and great video by the way. also note that saurian will be getting updated with the changing paleontological information that comes out and the isle is basically JP wrapped in love craft mythology.
Saurian Target Just to let you know, the andrewsarcus is so easy to kill. If it charges straight at you, you can step to th side and it doesent even get you, giving you a chance to shoot before it turns around. If it does turn around again, do the same thing and it works. The Andrewsarchus is so easy to kill with any weapon which makes it so broken, so you should ask the guy that's working on it to fix it.
I love how immersive the mobile ports are becoming the grass makes the maps look beautiful. Also the part with the far north hyaenodon made me lol lol lol
Something about this channel is amazing. For all I know this channel and Dino Destroyer keep this community interesting. Gotta thank you Saurian for helping to keep this community together, keep in mind thousands of us get information and updates from you. wait that sounds stressful... But you get it, lots of appreciation, Saurian!
Hey Saurian About the mod idea I had, we could maybe get Poharex on the team, and we can contact Tim Cain, the head developer of the original Fallout for some assistance with the engine.
Very nice! Your videos are always so relaxing and addicting, and this is definitely one of them. Love the new skins, apart from the Andrew, for much as the same reasons as you, and I'm so happy to see these games getting the attention they rightfully deserve!
I have to talk about what I think of the Andrewsarchus. I love the direction, but my goodness I LOVE that white one you done. So good, and in my opinion near the perfection point of what the Andrewsarchus should be doing with its skin. Due to the vertical striping on this animal I find it to be playing off of the pig's skin, allowing Players to get more paranoid around the harmless wildlife (Much like the original wolf) However the size and base color of the Andrewsarchus right now don't allow that to truly work. If however it were made white or gray this striping would really help bring home that effect. (Of course I feel the stripes should be a little darker than your white example shown) As for the stripes themselves its obvious to tell they need a little more time in the oven, perhaps the ones along the back could be slightly elongated and the ones on the legs slightly shortened as well. (Lengthened up top to help with the tacked on feeling those stripes have and shortened on the legs to prevent that squiggly effect it currently has going on) However I just wanted to say that I love how all the game's doggos are pulling a classic carnivores wolf and playing off the pig's model in some way. (Like how the Hyaenodon now has stripes, but horizontally patterned ones) ... Edit As for the posited idea of long thicker textured fur at the Andrewsarchus' muscular neck I believe the idea works, but if implemented the stripes currently along its lower spine should be refocused to the quasi-mane or cuff along the neck. Giving the neck area a dark striped wreath-like effect. Which would be a rather unique but not quite over-the-top look.
Great analysis, and I totally agree! The more the predators can mimic the ambient animals, the more paranoid hunters get. It's like the Velociraptor and Gallimimus all over again! xD
I feel like Tatem should also start working with more of the fans who made the fan-made mods, and build special expansion packs with bonus maps, creatures and lore based on some of the top bonus creatures, like your Mantellodon, or the Thunderbird, or the ultimate genetically engineered monster, Gojirasaurus! And update the models too, so that some of them have smoother and more natural movements, like how an animal should be able to move. And may call the expansion something to the effect of "Carnivores: Legends and Mysteries"? Or if Tatem, as a company, eventually decides to sell off the Carnivores series, whom ever decides to pick it up should definitely work with the fans who designed and built mods featuring these creatures. And start working on some of other concepts that everyone has brought up before too! Just my opinion, anyway.
I am so glad that andry was the one who stayed to work on Dino hunter i mean just imagine if it was some impolite slob who just wanted money and barely managed to even make anything
OH YES! By the way, I also don’t like that they forgot to make Smilodon ... more aggressive. In PC game Smilodon was unusual. He could run away, if he could see you from afar (as the predator's instincts work), and to be very quiet next to you, seriously scare jogging and kill you. I'm serious! When playing, the map has a horizon of the hunter’s radius, and when Smilodon (red dot) entered it, he ran away. But sometimes it approached very quietly. You do not see him where he goes, everywhere are trees and bushes. And here really hands become cold, you are nervous. And this tiger can really make you nervous (It is possible that I was a newbie, and Smilodon was the second predator after the wolf, who was able to suddenly scare me and did not expect to see him. I did not know then that the game could give a random surprise while hunting lol) In short, he could behave aggressively and suddenly, and run away. This is an unusual predator. And in the game on the PC, he really liked it. And on the phone or on the tablet, he ... became too shy. He walks slowly, with every second he constantly stops. Move - stop - move - stop. He seems to be a brake. At the sight of you, he runs away, but even at close range he cannot kill. If you do not come very close. I do not know if this is a bug or just the developers have very lazily and irresponsibly made a model of Smilodon... as crap or shitty (sorry for my language, but how i can say otherwise?) I am very disappointed that after long updates they did not even bother with this((( And YES! Regain the ability of predators, where they could suddenly climb the rocks and eat you, as in the computer version LMAO
I like the new skins for the most part. The Hyaenodon, I think, was improved the most and the new color scheme just fits it perfectly. The Indricotherium also looks good. I personally had no issues with the old Doedicurus, but I like the new skin very much. In particular, I like that the tips of the spikes now have some shading to them. A nice design choice. I guess I'm in the minority, but I liked the Walking With Beasts skin for the Andrewsarchus. Yeah, it was out of place in some sense, but it still worked for me all the same. Not really sure why; just one of those gut reactions. The new skin isn't bad per se, but it doesn't stick out to me. Just...undistinguished, I guess. And those new Yeti roars are PHENOMENAL!
Thank you sweet baby raptor Jesus... Our Andrey is the beginning of the "New Age" I just love it when Saurian Target reviews updates for mobile... *sigh*
A great update video, had no idea about any of these changes and it's really exciting to hear that the Yeti got a fix. While this may be a lot of work, I did have an idea to fix the skins that work on some maps but not others: Seasonal variation. Maybe way down the road if alternate skins are put in the game in the future, making map-specific skins can add a lot, so Smilodon won't stick out on the snowy maps and the Yeti won't stick out on the maps with less snow. Plus this can make for an interesting way to fill up your trophy room, giving incentive to try different maps beyond the aesthetic of the map itself.
Seasonal variation and map-specific skins sound like a great idea! How far in each color direction do you think the predators should go? All-white Smilodon, or just patches of white with lighter-colored fur?
so I couldn't help but think about what you said in your last video, "it's the Carnivores franchise's anniversary on November 30th". what I'm getting at is that for this occasion, even though you most likely won't do it, could you give us your "Face Reveal"? as in show us your REAL face? also you and TheGamingBeaver should make a collaboration together.
It’s been a year now since this update and other than a few little things, nothings really changed. I hope Andre is still working on this game, especially when he’s the only guy at Tatem who actually gives a crap about this game
Took you a while. LOL. I love what's been going on with carnivores. Props to Andrey for his hard work. Love the new Yeti call and the reskins. Looking forward to the day I can play it on my computer. Also, I'm not sure the people who comment on the Facebook page even realise what Carnivores is. They want Indoraptor and Indominous Rex. They don't belong in Carnivores.
Man, if I had a dollar for every Indominus/Indoraptor suggestion I've seen on Facebook... I could pay off my student loans, quit my job, and make more videos. xD
8:40 AAAAAnd this is really true! As a child, he always went to the bridge and called Yeti, diatrim and smilodon to easily kill. But sometimes it was very difficult, because the Yeti could go into the water or somehow get you. Or wolves / smlododon can run far away from you and you have to catch up with them again. xD
Nice to Watch Another Great Video from you, Saurian!!! The new grass, new skins and those new/scary Yeti calls make a wonderful addition for Carnivores Ice Age. However, i agree that some animals (like Andrewsarchus skin or Hyaenodon model) need tweaks to look more natural with the environment and fit better with Carnivores style. But for sure that this update is very cool! Also, i want to say that i Will work on new content for Jurassic Park Hunter Legends like new DLC packs and i am planning to make new mods. Due to my lack of time on October, i will begin to work on these DLC and mod projects on November. Besides, the upcoming mods will be presented on that month too!!!
I actually didn’t know about the bridge until a video you posted awhile ago. I forget which one but it wasn’t that long ago. Also the new Yeti call sounds like a death metal vocalist. It makes me laugh everytime. It’s a good change though. I love that there are still people who care about Carnivores. Keep up the good work. I love your videos.
I’m with you for the most part on the andrewsarchus. The skin looks great from the front but the stripes on the back end are a bit awkward and it would probably look better without them. I actually like the scruff on the back though. It makes the andrewsarchus feel more aggressive to me, like when a dog gets angry and the hair stands up in its back. And with the way they plan on doing fur on the ice age animals I hope they manage to maintain that feeling.
Yeah, I think I would like the scruff better if it was a bit more consistent throughout the model, right now, it just seems kinda out-of-place. Like you said, hopefully with the new fur textures coming, it'll feel a bit more natural.
Personal I think a cassowary skin for the gigantoraptor would work to fit in as a canon style skin and maybe more of a turkey vulture or king vulture would work for the titanis
Hey Saurian Target, when it comes to Carnivores Dinosaur Hunter HD (mobile) and Carnivores Ice Age (mobile) with their recent updates they are at their prime! Plus u saying Carnivores Renaissance is an understatement!😃
Tatem should port the Far North Hyaenodon to the Ice Age game (With the permission of the mod maker obviously) IMO, imagine if the pupper was official.
Claims archeopteryx is the least dangerous bird in the arctic sector, meanwhile it is the only bird capable of flight in the sector. All dinopedias claim ambient can't be hunted to points, flying ambients give you 1 point hough. Yeti is a fully carnivorous ape, eats humans, it's relatives, is the skin red because it's burned, IN THE ARCTIC.
Saurian, can you give me your thoughts on this? Can you imagine if they did a carnivores documentary? Think about it! The lives of these strange and unique animals who we pretty much just shoot Episode 1, A Runt Among Titans would be about an Allosaurus having to learn how to survive in a world of giant predators, it's not the dominant predator that it used to be and has to outwit bigger predators, like the Ceratosaurus, once the allosauruses punching bag, now one of the most ferocious and dangerous predators on FMUV32, I think it would take place on Del hills, at one point he had to fight off an alpha velociraptor who leads a large pack Episode 2, The leader of the pack, this is a story about a velociraptor tribe having to basically go to war against another rival tribe of Raptors, who have a red stripe going across their head to the end of their tale, however it isn't just about this war, we get small glimpses into the lives of other dinosaurs, the roaming stegosaurs, the triceratops during mating season and the struggles of a spinosaurus to find worthy food, it would take place on Nubel paradise, mainly because it's rather open, with small trees around the place, perfect territory for a group of fast running dinosaurs Episode 3, secret of Survival, this would be a story about the same spinosaurus from earlier still trying to hunt for big game, this episode would shows the real horrors of survival, the hunger, the competition and being unlucky, eventually the spinosaurus charges a Carnotaurus for the stegosaurus he took down, essentially crazed by lack of food, but the episode ends on a charming note, with the male spinosaurus seeing a female spinosaurus and calling her over to have the food together, him not wanting her to go through the same hell he did, the episode also has just a bit of comic relief by having a Coelophysis male try to get noticed by the females Episode 4, Mama, this is a story about a Gigantoraptor trying to protect her clutch from Oviraptors and even members of her own species, she goes so far into protecting her eggs she almost down right tortures herself by not going out to get food, the episode also goes into how such an odd and unusual creature got here, it doesn't look like it should be here, and the episode emphasizes this by having several dinosaurs giving her strange stares, like they've never seen her before, the episode ends with the eggs hatching and the mother can finally really move around with her children, this episode also goes into one of the only known huntable sauropods, the Amargasaurus, we even see it defending itself from a small pack of troodon by using her neck almost like a sword, I think this episode would take place on Manya jungle, because it's the only thing close to the Gigantoraptor actual environment Episode 5, night hunter, this episode inst shot like the rest, since the animal we are viewing is a Utah Raptor, it will be shot like it's a trail cam, looking over jungle, rivers and killed dinosaurs, we observe a nocturnal male Utah Raptor hunting in the dark of night using his natural camoflague to benefit himself during hunting, I always imagined FMUV32s Utahraptor almost like Komodo dragons, once something is killed they can all smell it, so they converge on the carcass and feast on the fresh meat, I could imagine a Big stegosaurus feeding at least 8 Utahraptors, we also see other somewhat night dwelling animals, including a Troodon, who is caught outside when the Utahraptor feeding frenzy is at an all time high, so he has to avoid being seen by Utahraptors, who he can only make out by the glint in their eyes and get back to his nest with his children, mate and pack, I like the idea of all dinosaurs when night comes they instinctually know to either hide or stay in a large group to survive the night, i reckon this would take place on Vengar Fjords Episode 6, a tale of two brothers, this is a story or tale about 2 carnotaurus brothers, they both are rivals, even though they stay together, they both bite and snap at each other but when they hunt they are disciplined, one day they both get into a brutal fight when competing for a grand mate and they leave each other, one of the brothers slinking off in defeat, thing go wrong fast for the victorious male as he has a small wound in his leg and can't hunt properly, when he's about to be killed by a Ceratosaurus the defeated brother charges in and bashes the Ceratosaurus in the face, the two brothers unite once more and drive off the Ceratosaurus, the two brothers lock eyes for a moment before the other brother walks off, both with mutual respect for each other, the episode would also have the first scenes of Iguanadon, as a herd moves in, they are tough and dangerous, almost nothing like the Parasaurolophus, I reckon this would take place on Ravs bridge, just without the bridge and because when i see the carnotaurus I see it in this environment Episode 7, Only the strong, this episode would be about how only the toughest and most battle ready dinosaurs survive, it will take place on Mount Raven, a place with harsh terrain, dangerous prey and some of the strongest predators, we watch a Ceratosaurus going through the hell that he calls home, where even prey puts up a fight, he's constantly fighting other Ceratosaurs to keep his turf, mating season has arrived and the Bulls are restless, constantly picking fights and intimidating any rivals, eventually our Ceratosaurus finds the toughest and best mate he can find but another Ceratosaurus has already got to her, he challenges the male and deals with him brutally, the rival male is left with a prominent scar on his right eye, many months go by as the mate has now has children and they are already picking fights with themselves and small lizards, but as he's bringing back a young Iguanadon he sees to his horror that the same male from many months ago has taken his revenge on his mate and children, filled with rage they prepare for a fight to the death, their clash is a fight to be witnessed, bashing and biting each other, but eventually our male wins but is gravely wounded, as he almost reaches death he hears a sounds, one of his children survived and walked up to him, our male picks himself up and looks down at his child, they both walk off, the male wounded but alive, I always imagined ceratosaurus to be a brawler, something that was always ready for a fight, the other wildlife also portrays that image, almost every dinosaur has a means for defense, Chasmosaurus with its horns, Iguanadon using its bulk as a battering ram, pachycephalosaurus with its domed head and amargasaurus using it's neck almost like a sword Episode 8, Kings, this story is all about the big guy himself, Tyrannosaurus rex, we watch as this female goes to great efforts to find a worthy mate, constantly calling out for a male to hear her, in her travels she finds a particularly large ceratosaurus and his child fighting another t rex for dominance over a carcass, the worthy male wins the skirmish against the ceratosaurus and he and his son walk off, and she walks over to the worthy male, the male looks at her, cautious, as he knows that a female tyrannosaurus could tear him apart, but the female wins over him and they both share the carcass, but this episode also goes over several strange encounters with an unknown species, one that stands upright and wears cloth on their bodies and heads, she and her mate watches some come out of a strange metal box they unload several smaller metal boxes and carry strange metal objects, they see her over the river she was watching them at and they begin shooting these painful metal shards at her, she and the mate charges and is able to rip them all to shreds, the same ceratosaurus from earlier very strangely and dangerously comes forward to the corpses, like he doesn't notice the two t rexes, the male and the female stunned by this don't attempt to attack him, thinking that maybe earlier he may have just been tired and that this was still an unusually large ceratosaurus, his horn just going over their bottom jaw, he sniffs and pushes the corpses of these strange creatures and then looks at the couple, he then picks ups one in his mouth and walks off, eventually they keep seeing these strange creatures, rare, but they do notice it, one day they are watching over their new born babies but the female notices that the male has seen something in the sky, she looks up as well and sees a colossal metal object floating in the sky and smaller objects flying out of it...
Sorry, I’m just here for the grass. Just saying that Bridge in the Dry Lake map, because it’s flat ground and doesn’t lift off the ground. I think they should have just made it so animals can go on it. Also Yeti is terrifying with those calls jk *G R A S S*
I feel like it would be a cool idea to add the ambient animals from dinosaur hunter into Revarens bridge in ice age and vice and versa, it would make the map more unique
Happy carnivores anniversary happy carnivores anniversary happy carnivores anniversary happy carnivores anniversary! This is happy birthday like music.I mean based on that music.
I love this video and it brings me back SOOOOOOO many memories since when I first landed my finger on the screen when I was 5 till now playing the Same game that never gets old for me. And yea the skins a good but I like the animals more and plus suarin target (sorry if I spelled you’re name wrong) PLEASE TELL THEM if they could add a multiplayer like you can hunt animals together and you could also like PLAY the animal in the game. I think that would bring people’s entertainment back to the game you know? I’m not saying they have too but it would be nice after all there the one’s working on it and that’s all I have to say I love you all guy’s and............have a blessed day/night 🙂
Hope Andrew or the guy/s working in both mobile ports use the quarantine to work in new creatures, hope in a near future we'll be able to hunt the popular Megatherium, the big kangaroo Procoptodon, the lethal Megalania, the strange Daeodon and the ancient whale Ambulocethus.
Some of the models were lazy yeah but I don't think they needed as much attention as the skins. And I think the models being "non-canon style" isn't that big of a deal, it could still be worked with. Just...not at all with the skins we currently have. I also don't think new Carnviores content should always be so restricted to stay in line with our precious lord-and-savior Zdenek Burian's art style so much. I appreciate it when the content fits this alien and inaccurate world, but the original game isn't all in line with Burian anyway . The original Carnivores in 1998 didn't exclusively draw inspiration from his inaccurate and fantastical designs, it also drew heavy inspiration from Jurassic Park, which at the time people thought was the most realistic depiction of dinosaurs (And it still is by comparison.) They took both things and mashed them up into this weird alien style that's not completely true but at the same time not completely untrue. As for the more unfitting looking specimens, a little reskin can go a long way, and I think you're wrong about those birds. Just because they're very skinny (more realistically birdlike) doesn't mean they can't be made to look better in this game with a simple reskin. I think a GOOD reskin could almost completely fix the problem. Take the green tropical pirate parrot skin off the Gigantoraptor and turn it into something more grey or brown, maybe with some minor blue spots on the feathers, and it's instantly fixed. I don't care that this bird, or Hyaenodon for that matter, aren't depicted as MORBIDLY OBESE or disjointed - they can still work in this world with the right color scheme. The Gigantoraptor specifically though could use more pronounced talons/hands and some more feathers though, I'll give you that. Maybe if it just looked a little more like... THIS: news.bbc.co.uk/media/images/43050000/jpg/_43050865_dino_artist_ap416.jpg www.8lap.ru/upload/iblock/182/182568e89abc4e938c3afd39b2bfa6e0.jpg It would still be a more scientifically accurate animal while also not looking a complete and absolute freak in this world. I don't know if I'd want it to have feathers or just brown scales, but I think it would work either way - you could do the feathers like this and I think people would accept it just fine. Instead of looking broken or unfitting, it would look APPROPRIATELY weird and exotic compared to other dinosaurs in the game without breaking immersion. The things that make it stand out so much now would be a positive instead of a negative. As for the Hyaenodon's model, well... One of the more popular maps of Ice Age was the one that was warmer, a place you'd expect to go hunting grizzly bears. To me, this gave the implication that this ice age on this alien planet wasn't covering the whole world, but that there were a variety of different, warmer environments. Or maybe the global winter was still in its early stages and this was one of the last remaining warmer areas. Either way, it would seem reasonable that there could still be some Savannah type areas located on this alien world. We as the community were able to pretty reasonably declare mods like Carnivores Triassic as canon-style after all. So why not have some mammals meant for warmer climates like this? To me, the Hyaenodons don't look like a problem. Maybe we as the community could take on this idea and expand on it - establish an almost unspoken kind of lore for it. We could have this version of the Hyaenodon as a starting point, while some mod could introduce and canonize a Hyaenodon that's gotten fatter and bulkier, which would show a progressive effort to adapt to a new environment. You could say this animal is the result of the Hyaenodon population moving farther up north to chase its prey. Then finally, now that this population was isolated in such a snowy area, another mod could have a Hyaenodon that actually was white or grey, as its literal final form. Our theory for why polar bears look the way they do after all is that one day one brown bear was simply born as a mutant without any pigment - an albino - and so it managed to sneak up on its prey better than its brothers, and thus survived, and was enabled to pass on its genes. That processed naturally repeated until now all polar bears look the way they do now. So why can't we show the Hyaenodon go through a change like this? I think that would be an interesting challenge for the Carnivores community, to expand upon the lore of the world in such small and subtle ways.
Man I love this update! I can finally play ice age with newfound love! But one thing, the smilodon and bear DESPERATELY need a AI fix. Every time I hunt them, they run away, only if I'm right up beside them will they turn tail and attack me. I do think this really needs fixed.
@@SaurianTarget that would be just awesome! I also wanted to say that I have a couple of good ideas for a new titanis model, and I'm definitely going to do some concept art of it, plus I've also got some carnivores experiences to share for the birthday celebration! I'm looking forward to it very much!
Hey Garrett i sawed something in jph 2 ! That golden deinotherium is a bonus creature! Right? Also i saw something from that the animals are like those in ice age and have the same sounds. This animals are custom colored like those other innovators and lifranyxes and those migratory dinosaurs and also something. The second map is like dry nodus lake but i didn t reach to find the bridge. I think is different with signs or has changed color or stuff like that. And also you didn 't know something. A great mod called Next Rulers is going to excite me. I hope you are happy about that. You will hunt there new species of rats that are similiar like icaronycteris, alphadon, repenomus and leptictidium. You hunt in this game some rats like fruittafossor, cronopio, rugosodon, castorocauda and didelphodon. Also my favourite animal is aigialosaurus inspired by barugon that is a kaiju. This mod is created by Mario Panaro that is Fluffy Yutyrannus that like keegan he has created an innovator for jpog. Also Dory has made a mod called Poharex in carnivores Style. Alright these is all things that im showing you because you sayed any times I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING CARNIVORES HAS TO OFFER . Example this things that i showed you know. Also the a new world that kind with object 12 and ancient coast. I decided some dlcs like your favourite dinosaur called Trachodon and along with sphenacodon, shinnovator kamakurii, cruentomarinyx, zuchengtyrannus, deinocheirus and also some creatures that i will create next year i don't know create and decide others. I decide the eremotherium a close related of farther north megatherium but is darker and with intimidating eyes like lambeosaurus ones. Also amebelodon from jurassic park builder. That is close related of platybelodon a new animal from farther north but is blue and with green eyes. Another creature is petrolavator inspired by koopatrols that are enemies from another game called super mario. Appear in another serie of that game. And of course anteovator that Dory deleted. The other was bright colored and interesting respect to the other that is a primordial dlc. Also another innovator called innovator bonii simply not as such like a turkey with no tits and anime eyes that is like the shinnovatrix's ones. Also the psittacosaurus in the game i sawed in the wiki called liaoceratops and the ichtyornis was called liaoxornis . I mean liaoceratops must be a hunteble and the ambient is yaleosaurus a close related to triassic's plateo. Tell it to Lucy to do everything for liaoceratops and yaleosaurus. Also my animals from primal resort are inspired by dino hunter 's colored bosses like adder and cardinal. Also the bonus creature is a innovator more gigantic like a t-rex inspired by a new boss called crystalis from the exotic series called innovator crystalii is a creature like indoraptor and indominus rex fictional of course. It has a potent venom more powerful than a piatnizkysaurus skin and a dilophosaurus spitt causes severe respiratory paralysis and asfixiation besides it doesn't have antivenom available because causes much more nytric oxide to the body and erection.
I think Andrewsarchus should be larger than the other carnivores in ice age like as big as a rhino to make it far more impossing compere to the other carnivores after all if the rex, cerato and sabertooth get to be bigger than there earth counterpart why not Andrewsarchus. I also do think that it should be wieth to better suited the environment. Great video (^^)
Hey saurian I know it's off-topic but we really need a new Modding tutorial video. Last time you only showed us how to mod textures and while it was good , it wasn't great coz we can't really do much . So it would be good if we can know how to make a fully independent mod and start making content for the community. Love your videos btw ❤❤
Thank you for the feedback! Unfortunately, I'm really not the person to make a full-on modding tutorial video, because I have no idea how to do any of it. That video was intended to be a basic guide to answer some common questions, and hopefully get people interested in modding to the point where they research the rest on their own. I'd highly recommend checking out the Discord server for more modding help.
The best part about the ice age update is that none of the reskins are as detestably horrendous as the carnotaurus reskin. I mean I know I already complained about it but.... god dammit the thing just looks like someone hastily retextured the thing by using existing textures from a completely different dinosaur. It doesn't even look like whoever made it bothered to check how the texture actually looks on the model itself. Those textures just don't match the topology at all. Additionally something I haven't particularly noticed before: some of the dinosaur reskins have blood around the mouth despite none of the original models having it. To my knowledge, no Zdenek Burian or Charles Knight painting feature blood around the mouth (mainly because it's unbelievably stupid. I mean you don't see mountain lions/tiger/bears/wolves/crocodiles/snakes pacing around with blood-covered mouths very often). The only other game I remember having that nonsense was Turok 2008. And you really don't want to be taking inspiration from Turok 2008 for your dinosaur designs.) imgur.com/a/aRTZgxP here's a basic edit I made of what I think the carnotaurus should've looked like. Also added the green head color scheme that I mentioned before on the previous video.
Yeah I noticed the "blood" effect too, especially on the Coelophysis, and it does look quite messy. Hopefully, with new models, we'll get some skins actually designed to fit the models in the first place. Also, nice edit on the Carnotaurus! I do like the green, helps give it some pop and variation.
Or at least bring back the original color scheme in the meantime. (or the original original color scheme vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/carnivores/images/8/80/Carnotaurus.jpeg/revision/latest?cb=20120125221811) I mean out of all the newly introduced dinosaurs, the carnotaurus's color scheme wasn't very distracting was it? I mean it's the patterning is quite similar to the raptor. The only real big problem with the design is that it's directly copying an existing design. Even then, fixing the existing texture would be quite simple, all they have to do is slightly tweak the placement of the eye so that it doesn't warp around an edge on the model and get rid of unnecessary scars/blood. Just putting a teeny-tiny bit of additional effort into it so that it doesn't look as detestable as it does now.
MagicalFruitBasket I honestly agree on how it looks like the Carno’s head looks hastily rushed, like just look at the eye. It’s disgusting, and other details in the head really make me feel like the carno should get slightly redone texture wise so they fix the issue
Thank you! Unfortunately, the Modern Days showcase will probably be complete around this winter. I'm making sure it's extra special for all the waiting you guys have done!
Ok ik this maybe alot to add so... 1. Animation to the Northern Lights 2. At least a new map and more beautiful than ever 3. Wind Sounds 4. weather options (ice age: no snow, light snow, medium snow, snow storm) (Carnivores: No rain, light rain, medium rain, thunder storm) 5.night vision option (cuz I miss it) 6. Rex and Spino switch places size and animation) 7. No more green spino
"6. Rex and Spino switch places size and animation) 7. No more green spino" Comrade, The Spinosaurus in carnivores is an alien given the nickname of the real thing, it's not supposed to be like it at all, if you want a big Spinosauroid you're gonna have to suggest something else.
So Saurian, would you be interested in a carnivores game built in a newer engine? I’ve been looking into unity and unreal recently, and have been seriously looking into building a carnivores fangame. Should that ever be completed, would you be interested in taking a look?
There's nothing quite like a sunny day, a good cup of coffee, laying your feet on the table and watching a Saurian Target video.
I commented that I hope carnivores world is good on the discord, and you just came out of no where, like who just mentioned my game.
pivotnaza I can relate
Now all we need is the triceratops back this series will mint 10/10 👌
Yes, that is a great idea, because I love to call the Chasmosaurus a Triceratops.
Dapper Raptor yessir
Yt .
I Agree with you dapper raptor 😇
10,000 years after its release, I'm finally back to cover the new Ice Age update! Now, I must retreat back into my hole in the ground... But first, what do you guys think of the new update??
Also guys, I've got some big work projects coming up, so unless some breaking Carnivores news drops, this will probably be the last video on the channel until the birthday party (don't forget to send me your submissions if you want to participate!), but hopefully it's enough to tide you guys over until then. Thanks again for your support and patience! Much love from ol' Mr. T!
Maybe when you come back out it will be modern days
Happy birthday?
if you like dinosaurs saurian target, i was just wanting to let you know about both a sci fi style dinosaur game called the isle and a more accurate and documentary style game called saurian.
Saurian: store.steampowered.com/app/587450/Saurian/
The isle: store.steampowered.com/app/376210/The_Isle/
i think you would get a kick out of these and great video by the way. also note that saurian will be getting updated with the changing paleontological information that comes out and the isle is basically JP wrapped in love craft mythology.
@@tazzi23 and add more animals also big foot and dodo
_If Tatem released a new update for Ice Age the moment this video uploaded..._
JCRev *oh my god...*
Lol
What really bothers me are the Smilodon and Bear AI because they are said to be "extremely dangerous" but they just run away when they detect you
I've noticed this as well... I'll be sure to bring it up with Andrey soon.
I heard that in the PC version, the Yeti did that like the Smilodon, and the Smilodon was as aggressive as the Yeti.
Facts
Márk Moldován yes I think that they swapped their AI in the mobile version to make the Yeti terrible, and they forgot to make the Smilodon agressive
Yes!! Someone finally noticed!
I love how immersive the mobile ports are becoming the grass makes the maps look beautiful. Also the part with the far north hyaenodon made me lol lol lol

That Kelenken look just like the model I made a few years ago for Carnivores Ice Age.
Ice Age is on the back burner for me, but I Love this Attention and updates. Thank you for the video, Saurian

Haha much appreciated, my friend! And sorry for the late reply! Glad to know people enjoy the content. :)
28 minutes of Saurian Target. Sign me up!
I knew Dry Notice Lake had a bridge, because of you.
Glad I could contribute some way. :)
Hey Saurian
About the mod idea I had, we could maybe get Poharex on the team, and we can contact Tim Cain, the head developer of the original Fallout for some assistance with the engine.
Btw burins made a picture of Phorosuracos, a relative of TITANIS so that can work
Very nice! Your videos are always so relaxing and addicting, and this is definitely one of them. Love the new skins, apart from the Andrew, for much as the same reasons as you, and I'm so happy to see these games getting the attention they rightfully deserve!
Oh my indricotherium and doedicrus looks beautifull
Tatem:bug fixes
Saurian target:OMG BEST UPDATE
I have to talk about what I think of the Andrewsarchus. I love the direction, but my goodness I LOVE that white one you done. So good, and in my opinion near the perfection point of what the Andrewsarchus should be doing with its skin.
Due to the vertical striping on this animal I find it to be playing off of the pig's skin, allowing Players to get more paranoid around the harmless wildlife (Much like the original wolf) However the size and base color of the Andrewsarchus right now don't allow that to truly work. If however it were made white or gray this striping would really help bring home that effect. (Of course I feel the stripes should be a little darker than your white example shown)
As for the stripes themselves its obvious to tell they need a little more time in the oven, perhaps the ones along the back could be slightly elongated and the ones on the legs slightly shortened as well. (Lengthened up top to help with the tacked on feeling those stripes have and shortened on the legs to prevent that squiggly effect it currently has going on)
However I just wanted to say that I love how all the game's doggos are pulling a classic carnivores wolf and playing off the pig's model in some way. (Like how the Hyaenodon now has stripes, but horizontally patterned ones)
...
Edit
As for the posited idea of long thicker textured fur at the Andrewsarchus' muscular neck I believe the idea works, but if implemented the stripes currently along its lower spine should be refocused to the quasi-mane or cuff along the neck.

Agreed! I don't know how we lucked out with him, but thank the stars we did.
I did not know then that the game could give a random surprise while hunting lol)
In short, he could behave aggressively and suddenly, and run away. I do not know if this is a bug or just the developers have very lazily and irresponsibly made a model of Smilodon... as crap or shitty (sorry for my language, but how i can say otherwise?)
I am very disappointed that after long updates they did not even bother with this(((
And YES! Regain the ability of predators, where they could suddenly climb the rocks and eat you, as in the computer version LMAO
I've noticed the bear and Smilodon seem to be a bit off... I'll mention this to Andrey.
Saurian Target Oh, sorry. I am still learning English, so maybe I accidentally heard this information. 😅
I love the update but i think its so cool that you are in the special thanks section in the carnivores dinosaur hunter!
FINALLY THANK YOU FOR MAKING ONE FOR THE CE AGE
I love the new Hyeanodon becuase it's skin is based on Heinrich Harder's painting and i LOVE Heinrich Harder.
That's awesome! Good to see someone who appreciates the classics.
Thank you sweet baby raptor Jesus...
Our Andrey is the beginning of the "New Age"
I just love it when Saurian Target reviews updates for mobile...
16:01 eeeeuuughhh. I still wake up screaming.
I think I've watched all of your videos, but not the carnivores music. Do you know where the bridge, on raverens bridge I located.

Thank you, my friend! Greatly appreciated.
so I couldn't help but think about what you said in your last video, "it's the Carnivores franchise's anniversary on November 30th". what I'm getting at is that for this occasion, even though you most likely won't do it, could you give us your "Face Reveal"? as in show us your REAL face? also you and TheGamingBeaver should make a collaboration together.

Hey saurian why is hyenadon not a pack hunter?
I would never expect SAURian to acknowledge that birds are dinos
"You'll find I'm full of surprises!"
Saurian must have been really happy when he got that Ice Age themed Trophy Ship.
Or wolves / smlododon can run far away from you and you have to catch up with them again. xD
Good thing I bought the game!
Great to hear from you, Tormer! Can't wait to see how you continue to update JPHL!

That's honestly hilarious about the Yeti calls, I hadn't even thought of that. xD
Glad you enjoy the content! :)
I’m just dying for more maps. Good maps.
Nah it sucks
Question
at 16:01 that half-a-second-long creepy music to represent the Doedicurus teeth
does anyone know that the sound is actually called?
It's a segment from the iconic "Psycho" theme: ua-cam.com/video/Me-VhC9ieh0/v-deo.html
The third Yeti call gave me chills.
9:34
Yeah, I guess I never... Notice-d it before ;).
I think andrewsarchus should be renamed amphicyon because andrewsarchus was actually like a carnivore hippopotamus
Next thing we should get for ice age is survival mode. That would be crazy having yetis chasing you.
Andrewsarchus’ color scheme kinda reminds me of the Tasmanian Tiger, what with the stripes on the back legs.
16:01saurian you scared me
Every video that saurian makes if encourages me to join the Carnivores community again a lot.Even if it’s a video about grass...
Im convicted. Terror birds arent dinosaurs but they technically are because of the new grouping hnnnggg
I knew I'd be damned if I did and damned if I didn't, so I went ahead and did. xD
@@SaurianTarget lol
I say, we should remake the abominable snowman or Yeti for short as the real life style because it had five toes and five fingers.
Oh, I hope that the game will also look beautiful in a computer. That would be pretty darn cool.
I'm sure it will!
I hope every mammal gets re-skined
Had to make another account, I subscribed right now=)
So I can watch your cool videos.
Saurian, can you give me your thoughts on this? Can you imagine if they did a carnivores documentary? Think about it! The lives of these strange and unique animals who we pretty much just shoot
Episode 1, A Runt Among Titans would be about an Allosaurus having to learn how to survive in a world of giant predators, it's not the dominant predator that it used to be and has to outwit bigger predators, like the Ceratosaurus, once the allosauruses punching bag, now one of the most ferocious and dangerous predators on FMUV32, I think it would take place on Del hills, at one point he had to fight off an alpha velociraptor who leads a large pack
Episode 2, The leader of the pack, this is a story about a velociraptor tribe having to basically go to war against another rival tribe of Raptors, who have a red stripe going across their head to the end of their tale, however it isn't just about this war, we get small glimpses into the lives of other dinosaurs, the roaming stegosaurs, the triceratops during mating season and the struggles of a spinosaurus to find worthy food, it would take place on Nubel paradise, mainly because it's rather open, with small trees around the place, perfect territory for a group of fast running dinosaurs
Episode 3, secret of Survival, this would be a story about the same spinosaurus from earlier still trying to hunt for big game, this episode would shows the real horrors of survival, the hunger, the competition and being unlucky, eventually the spinosaurus charges a Carnotaurus for the stegosaurus he took down, essentially crazed by lack of food, but the episode ends on a charming note, with the male spinosaurus seeing a female spinosaurus and calling her over to have the food together, him not wanting her to go through the same hell he did, the episode also has just a bit of comic relief by having a Coelophysis male try to get noticed by the females
Episode 4, Mama, this is a story about a Gigantoraptor trying to protect her clutch from Oviraptors and even members of her own species, she goes so far into protecting her eggs she almost down right tortures herself by not going out to get food, the episode also goes into how such an odd and unusual creature got here, it doesn't look like it should be here, and the episode emphasizes this by having several dinosaurs giving her strange stares, like they've never seen her before, the episode ends with the eggs hatching and the mother can finally really move around with her children, this episode also goes into one of the only known huntable sauropods, the Amargasaurus, we even see it defending itself from a small pack of troodon by using her neck almost like a sword, I think this episode would take place on Manya jungle, because it's the only thing close to the Gigantoraptor actual environment
Episode 5, night hunter, this episode inst shot like the rest, since the animal we are viewing is a Utah Raptor, it will be shot like it's a trail cam, looking over jungle, rivers and killed dinosaurs, we observe a nocturnal male Utah Raptor hunting in the dark of night using his natural camoflague to benefit himself during hunting, I always imagined FMUV32s Utahraptor almost like Komodo dragons, once something is killed they can all smell it, so they converge on the carcass and feast on the fresh meat, I could imagine a Big stegosaurus feeding at least 8 Utahraptors, we also see other somewhat night dwelling animals, including a Troodon, who is caught outside when the Utahraptor feeding frenzy is at an all time high, so he has to avoid being seen by Utahraptors, who he can only make out by the glint in their eyes and get back to his nest with his children, mate and pack, I like the idea of all dinosaurs when night comes they instinctually know to either hide or stay in a large group to survive the night, i reckon this would take place on Vengar Fjords
Episode 6, a tale of two brothers, this is a story or tale about 2 carnotaurus brothers, they both are rivals, even though they stay together, they both bite and snap at each other but when they hunt they are disciplined, one day they both get into a brutal fight when competing for a grand mate and they leave each other, one of the brothers slinking off in defeat, thing go wrong fast for the victorious male as he has a small wound in his leg and can't hunt properly, when he's about to be killed by a Ceratosaurus the defeated brother charges in and bashes the Ceratosaurus in the face, the two brothers unite once more and drive off the Ceratosaurus, the two brothers lock eyes for a moment before the other brother walks off, both with mutual respect for each other, the episode would also have the first scenes of Iguanadon, as a herd moves in, they are tough and dangerous, almost nothing like the Parasaurolophus, I reckon this would take place on Ravs bridge, just without the bridge and because when i see the carnotaurus I see it in this environment
Episode 7, Only the strong, this episode would be about how only the toughest and most battle ready dinosaurs survive, it will take place on Mount Raven, a place with harsh terrain, dangerous prey and some of the strongest predators, we watch a Ceratosaurus going through the hell that he calls home, where even prey puts up a fight, he's constantly fighting other Ceratosaurs to keep his turf, mating season has arrived and the Bulls are restless, constantly picking fights and intimidating any rivals, eventually our Ceratosaurus finds the toughest and best mate he can find but another Ceratosaurus has already got to her, he challenges the male and deals with him brutally, the rival male is left with a prominent scar on his right eye, many months go by as the mate has now has children and they are already picking fights with themselves and small lizards, but as he's bringing back a young Iguanadon he sees to his horror that the same male from many months ago has taken his revenge on his mate and children, filled with rage they prepare for a fight to the death, their clash is a fight to be witnessed, bashing and biting each other, but eventually our male wins but is gravely wounded, as he almost reaches death he hears a sounds, one of his children survived and walked up to him, our male picks himself up and looks down at his child, they both walk off, the male wounded but alive, I always imagined ceratosaurus to be a brawler, something that was always ready for a fight, the other wildlife also portrays that image, almost every dinosaur has a means for defense, Chasmosaurus with its horns, Iguanadon using its bulk as a battering ram, pachycephalosaurus with its domed head and amargasaurus using it's neck almost like a sword
Episode 8, Kings, this story is all about the big guy himself, Tyrannosaurus rex, we watch as this female goes to great efforts to find a worthy mate, constantly calling out for a male to hear her, in her travels she finds a particularly large ceratosaurus and his child fighting another t rex for dominance over a carcass, the worthy male wins the skirmish against the ceratosaurus and he and his son walk off, and she walks over to the worthy male, the male looks at her, cautious, as he knows that a female tyrannosaurus could tear him apart, but the female wins over him and they both share the carcass, but this episode also goes over several strange encounters with an unknown species, one that stands upright and wears cloth on their bodies and heads, she and her mate watches some come out of a strange metal box they unload several smaller metal boxes and carry strange metal objects, they see her over the river she was watching them at and they begin shooting these painful metal shards at her, she and the mate charges and is able to rip them all to shreds, the same ceratosaurus from earlier very strangely and dangerously comes forward to the corpses, like he doesn't notice the two t rexes, the male and the female stunned by this don't attempt to attack him, thinking that maybe earlier he may have just been tired and that this was still an unusually large ceratosaurus, his horn just going over their bottom jaw, he sniffs and pushes the corpses of these strange creatures and then looks at the couple, he then picks ups one in his mouth and walks off, eventually they keep seeing these strange creatures, rare, but they do notice it, one day they are watching over their new born babies but the female notices that the male has seen something in the sky, she looks up as well and sees a colossal metal object floating in the sky and smaller objects flying out of it...
Great thoughts, I'd love to see a Carnivores documentary some day!
Ya the ice age update was very much needed just like Carnivores DH hopefully they add more soon #Dilophosaur4Carnivores
I think these creatures should have variants. Who else thinks they should have variants? Cause I'm sold on having a white Andrewsarchus.
Same. Something like a T.rex with scars all over its body or an albino/melanistic Smilodon for example.
Animal variants are a planned feature for future updates! :)
Sorry, I’m just here for the grass. Just saying that Bridge in the Dry Lake map, because it’s flat ground and doesn’t lift off the ground. I think they should have just made it so animals can go on it. Also Yeti is terrifying with those calls
jk
*G R A S S*
I feel like it would be a cool idea to add the ambient animals from dinosaur hunter into Revarens bridge in ice age and vice and versa, it would make the map more unique
The innovator is inspired by Stalker.
Happy carnivores anniversary happy carnivores anniversary happy carnivores anniversary happy carnivores anniversary! This is happy birthday like music.I mean based on that music.
After they add all the important translations, like Spanish (added) or french and etc, they should add a Vince button, when I reads it to you.
AND GIRLS HAVE A BLESSED DAY!!!!!whew almost made a slip there
Hope Andrew or the guy/s working in both mobile ports use the quarantine to work in new creatures, hope in a near future we'll be able to hunt the popular Megatherium, the big kangaroo Procoptodon, the lethal Megalania, the strange Daeodon and the ancient whale Ambulocethus.
THIS:

It would still be a more scientifically accurate animal while also not looking a complete and absolute freak in this world.
I think that would be an interesting challenge for the Carnivores community, to expand upon the lore of the world in such small and subtle ways.
probably the best addition is the new Yeti calls. Hopefully we get the new models soon.
It might be a while before we get the new models, but I hope they'll be worth the wait!
Hey do you still have to pay to hunt the other animals like the terror bird, mammoth etc(would also help if you knew about the android version as well
Man I love this update! I can finally play ice age with newfound love! But one thing, the smilodon and bear DESPERATELY need a AI fix. Every time I hunt them, they run away, only if I'm right up beside them will they turn tail and attack me. I do think this really needs fixed.
Yeah, I (and several others) have noticed this as well. I'll be sure and mention it to Andrey. Hopefully it can get a fix before too long.
@@SaurianTarget that would be just awesome! I also wanted to say that I have a couple of good ideas for a new titanis model, and I'm definitely going to do some concept art of it, plus I've also got some carnivores experiences to share for the birthday celebration! I'm looking forward to it very much!
That's awesome! Can't wait to see what you come up with! :D
Finally! Been waiting for ages!
Hope it was worth the wait!
16:02 THAT SCARED ME 😂😂😂
Hey Garrett i sawed something in jph 2 !
10:46 imagine hearing that at night
Don't you dis Titanis he is a great birb!
Gigantoraptor should be replaced with rajasaurus or megalosaurus
Love the video keep up the great work. Didn't Learned a lot.
And you really don't want to be taking inspiration from Turok 2008 for your dinosaur designs.)
imgur.com/a/aRTZgxP here's a basic edit I made of what I think the carnotaurus should've looked like.
Good job Garrett ! Your titanis and iguanodon and this showcase but when you will do the modern days showcase ? Tomorrow or next Monday ?
Thank you! Unfortunately, the Modern Days showcase will probably be complete around this winter. I'm making sure it's extra special for all the waiting you guys have done!
Awesome video my friend!!!!!!
Thank you, my dude!!
Do the broken bridges being broken means that mobile takes place after the OG games
I personally like the Gigantoraptor
Gigantoraptor is my all time favorite
18:45 That's a pretty weird dog you have there. What breed is it?
I'm honestly not sure, but he's got a heck of a bite.
Ok ik this maybe alot to add so...
1. Animation to the Northern Lights
2. At least a new map and more beautiful than ever
3. Wind Sounds
4. weather options (ice age: no snow, light snow, medium snow, snow storm)
(Carnivores: No rain, light rain, medium rain, thunder storm)
5.night vision option (cuz I miss it)
6. Rex and Spino switch places size and animation)
7. No more green spino
"6. Rex and Spino switch places size and animation)
7. No more green spino"
Comrade, The Spinosaurus in carnivores is an alien given the nickname of the real thing, it's not supposed to be like it at all, if you want a big Spinosauroid you're gonna have to suggest something else.
The desings are cool!
Nice video man!
Thank you!
So Saurian, would you be interested in a carnivores game built in a newer engine? I’ve been looking into unity and unreal recently, and have been seriously looking into building a carnivores fangame. Should that ever be completed, would you be interested in taking a look?
Absolutely. If you ever get it off the ground, I'd love to give it a look!
