Carnivores Dinosaur Redesigns

- Between the late 1990s and the early 2000s, the Ukrainian game development studio Action Forms produced a trilogy of hunting simulation games known as the Carnivores series, in which the player could hunt prehistoric wildlife on an alien planet. The first two games in the trilogy focused on dinosaurs as the game animals whereas the third, Carnivores: Ice Age, switched to Cenozoic animals in a cold polar environment. Since the dinosaurs in the first two Carnivores games were reconstructed according to a combination of "retro" and 1990s aesthetics, I've taken it upon myself to redesign them to better mirror modern ideas of dinosaurs.
Background music is the work of Rich Douglas, whom you can support by purchasing the soundtrack he did for the reboot Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter Reborn.

If I could reboot the carnivores games I would still set it on an alien planet but have it be that an ancient alien civilization came to earth during prehistory and abducted populations of prehistoric animals throughout the early Permian to Pleistocene epoch and brought them to the alien planet for scientific research
However they became extinct and are long gone by the time the reboot game takes place

I imagine the redesigned velociraptor shot animation will have feathers flying just like how real life birds when shot have feathers flying.

Do you think you'll do another video like this with redesigns of the Ambient Dinosaurs, Mobile Exclusive Dinosaurs (including the currently unimplemented Dilophosaurus), and/or Cityscape Dinosaurs?
I might do the ambients from C1 and C2, but have no interest in either the mobile ones or the Cityscape ones.
@@BrandonPilcher Fair enough, Cityscape isn't held much in high regard amongst the Carnivores Fanbase anyway.

Thanks! The stumpy legs of the new Spino do look a bit weird IMO, especially compared to its cousins Baryonyx and Suchomimus, but that's science marching on for you.

I think i prefer the original designs except for the chasmosaurus & Allosaurus, Because i like vintage dinosaurs more , these lizards were more lively and appealing to me then they are now.
I believe the dinosaurs from carnivores are not actually normal dinosaurs but an alien dinosaurs from another planet.

It ruins the whole point of it, the dinosaurs are apposed to represent old depictions of dinosaurs, and no hate in typing this, I truly love the passion. so I wish that hd could have done this, or do this in there new update if they will have one
The dinosaurs in the original Carnivores games seem to be a hodgepodge of retro and 1990s influences, with the theropods looking more 1990s than the others. But thanks for your thoughts anyway.

Reminder: the dinosaurs are aliens so they would have evolved kinda differently to the Earth dinosaurs. I imagine them all being cold blooded, but the birds from Carnivores: Ice Age being warm blooded

They should make a whole remake of the game
Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter Reborn and Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunt were supposed to be that, but the former proved difficult to update due to the nature of the proprietary engine they were using, whereas the latter has all but stopped development probably due to the invasion of Ukraine (since most of the devs working on the game are over there).

Nice although the cera was a bit dissapointing since in game its horn was very prominant and it was bulky.
Nasacornis couldve been very impressive. Plus the pattern was a bit dull.
U should also draw em en retro style.

I didn't include it because I was sticking to the dinosaurs from the first two games. I don't care about the mobile ports.

Honestly, I have no interest in doing any of the dinosaurs from the mobile games, as I have not played those and don't want to. I am only doing the ones from the original PC games.

That's because they're from the mobile port, which I have never played. I focused on the dinos from the first two games only since those are what I'm familiar with.
