This dude must have the worst asthma on earth because I almost died from asthma 3 times and I would sure as hell be sprinting for miles if that thing was following me especially if I had my inhaler
I like how both endings for how you deal with the suitcase actually have merit and drawbacks; -In the curse ending, sure, you're giving the kid a cursed object, but you're also kinda setting up a "legend" about the case that acts as instructions for what to do; Try and open it, then pass it along to the next person. Its cruel, sure, but who knows, maybe someone can open it one day and figure out what's going on, and at least the people who get handed the case will know about what they're actually supposed to do. And they won't have the case for long, either, so while they'll be in danger, as long as they're not a worse asmatic then our protag here, they should honestly have an easier time dealing with her. Basically turning this into the world's 4th deadliest game of Hot potato. -In the Drown ending, while you avoid constantly cursing people, it'll eventually get fished up, and the poor fishermen will have no idea what they need to do initially when they first encounter the woman, giving her a huge advantage. And even if they figure out they need to toss it out to sea, it'll just be another few years until another fisherman haul up the case, and the cycle repeats, just like the curse ending, but with the fishermen having zero instruction, making it more likely one of them is eventually going to fuck up and/or just be in the exact wrong place, and let the lady get them and the briefcase. And we can assume that is *VERY BAD* Genuinely I adore how the endings arn't "good or bad", but determining how the case will transfer moving forward, based on your actions. (Yeah, laundering it to the kid a selfish move, but that doesn't mean its a "bad" ending, just that you're a bad oerson in it.)
Are you really that bad of a person for passing the suitcase along? Your only obligation in life is to look out for yourself. That makes you normal, rather than Evil. Hell, the best way for this to end is just waking past the dying man at the beginning. Not your problem: No need to make it your problem.
Oh God, you terrify me when you mention crowds. Navigating through them, that's terrible. But it calms me down knowing there's a creepy murderous stalker in the crowd, at least I know someone.
35:14 I get they're trying to end off with a dramatic shot but bro on the left is posing up and I can't take it seriously. There's police lights and the woman standing there menacingly and then this guy is looking like he's gonna shoryuken a rioter.
This is a really nice game. I love the subtle touches that add to the overall horrifying vibe. Others mentioned already but the zoom on her face, her movement, the inhaler mechanic and the paranoia/claustrophobia of the crowd. Top notch!
I'm not 100% certain, but I'm pretty sure the frequency at which the person uses their Ventolin inhaler is dangerous. It's primarily supposed to be used for emergencies due to an asthma attack or some other breathing-related attack. Or at a minimum, every four hours. I know in my case, it makes my heart race.
Aye if it wasnt for the evil ghost hunting mc, Id personally rush to the emergency room, already homeless so a little more debt to get a breathing treatment might save his life. (Ive been in the rock and hard place of debt or ignore worsening asthma symptoms)
@@blindedjourneyman I'm currently dealing with breathing troubles myself. Unknown cause. I am borderline asthma based on testing, but even the doctor admits that the symptoms are not atypical for asthma, and there must be something else at play. So yeah, I feel this guy's pain, but still, that much Ventolin can't be good for the heart. Granted, neither can being chased by a tall ghost lady while holding a questionable briefcase.
Oh you're totally right. I don't think any inhaler is meant to be used this way. Though the dev is pretty much using the inhaler like "stamina drinks", etc. Mind you the idea of chugging energy drink will likely kill you too.
Its not advisable bitnif you gotta do it you gotta do it. Using too much ye will get heart palps then shaking. If you still need to use it after like 10 go to hospital if you can
This is a great horror game. The jumpscare isn't even half as scary as the actual chase itself- and the atmosphere, the sound effects and the music distorting- wonderful stuff. 10/10
This is a unique horror game, most of the time in horror games, you're always alone in an isolated place, and it's you and a creature(serial killer, demon, monster etc.) But in this game, there are people around, which subverts the usual setting of a horror game, but having more people actually adds to the claustrophobic horror, and the idea that even though there are people around you, they still can't help you with your situation.
Wow, this game is refreshing. The Main Character being a homeless person, the inhaler mechanic and the whole monster that turns into other people (also really creepy looking) are different than the usual in horror games. Really creative and well selected spaces to play with the concept. Really cool game and video.
So if the "thing" is following you because of the briefcase, what happens if you just leave it on the ground? the man at the start implied that something bad would happen, so i think it would have been cool if that was one of the endings!
Yeah the dev should add that kind of choice at the side of the screen whenever the protag choose to just leave it mid game. Would be cool to see that ending too.
Maybe in the briefcase there's vital part of the ghost and when she get it back she'll become more poweful and start killing everyone, not just the case handlers
In terms of pure quality of design this has to be among the best games Manly has played. The visual and audio design, the theming, and the environments/map layouts are all top notch.

Man what a cool concept for a horror premise, along with the asthma mechanic hindering your character, music warping and creepy camera work when it gets too close to you. Well thought to have the entity linked to an item rather than to a confusing premise like in the movie "It Follows" lol
@@Lucas-st1xq The entity followed you after having sex with the cursed person if I remember correctly. So, while you're cursed, what if someone just gave you a handy or a BJ? Will it follow them now? What if you participated in an orgy? What if the orgy consisted in 20 dudes doing their best impression of a human centipede? Who is it gonna follow then? What if you saved a cursed dude's nut in a jar and poured it over someone else like a homeless person? Could it be transferred to a different animal? If so, can it fly? Could you had bestiality with a bird which is constantly emigrating over vasts regions of land so it follows that bird indefinitely back-and-forth? When that bird finds a mate, will it follow that next bird? Could you and other cursed people repeat that process over and over again so you never had to worry about being next in your lifetime? (I had way too much fun with this response lmao)
I get the old guy was dying and had no other choice, but did you really have to give Pandora's box to some homeless asthmatic knowing a lot of chase and money are involved? 😭
My theory is that the woman was a victim of organ harvesters and that they killed her so now she hunts them to get back parts of her body/ get revenge, which could be why her stomach is bloody

3:51 Look at that, she gave him as small peck as a shown of gratitude for handing the briefcase, what a polite lady, isn't she a polite lady? She's a polite lady.
I appreciated the settings in this game. They're all normal crowded areas, but the city itself being overrun by rioters was a creative choice! Also, why not burn the briefcase??
The dev should add a choice that's available all the time at the side of the screen whenever the protag choose to just leave the briefcase mid game or just throw it into a fire. Would be cool to see an ending on that choice too.
Hmm, now that you mentioned the bloodstained wound around the abdomen of the ghost woman, it kinda make me think the briefcase may contain a fetus or something (what with the fleshy growth on it) and that is why she is hunting you down.
_What was the curse_ The tall lady may have been similar to the tall man in It Follows. Her wound was in a fairly specific location as tho something was ripped from her body. A metaphor for the birth of the curse that was "alive" in that briefcase? Something not as intimate as in It Follows, but maybe a curse of aging or ill health. Whatever it was, its too bad anyone had to touch it again. This was really well done with great tension and well played too. Cool music in the nightclub!

I get the feeling whoever imagined this idea was very closely involved in the production- this feels like it came right out of someone's imagination and was translated exactly into a game!
I like it, it makes it so that giving the case away has obvious moral consequences that you can't just reason away, and it makes sense that only a child would be likely to just accept a briefcase from a random homeless person without arguing.
Goddamn, this game is really scary. I love the way it takes advantage of you being in this rundown metropolis where there's always crowds to hide the chaser, and the fact that the chaser reveals itself without any sound effect, just a visual effect, is actually so creepy. I can't remember the last time watching a horror game playthrough actually made me jump I also really love the way the game works a disability into the game mechanics. I always thought that games don't explore disabilities enough, and I think this game did it in a really creative way honestly
35:25 I was lowkey expecting her to jump into the water at the last second before fade-out, imagine how terrifying that would've been. 38:10 Same here, was totally expecting to see her climbing the boat just as MC looked over the edge. I guess the game succeeded at making me paranoid, haha
someone was clearly watching The Matrix 1 day and thought, wow people suddenly seizing into some monster out of nowhere in a crowd would be absolutely terrifying
As someone with an asthma inhaler I can say not only does this game pretty much feel right with the inhaler bar, but also this game is freaking scary. I'd be panicing too lol just watching this gives me anxiety haha 🤣
The best part about It Follows is how vague and unexplainable the whole thing was. I doubt a sequel would do any good to expand the idea, because its simplicity is what makes it interesting. But making a sequel that expands on nothing would be retread of the first film. Some interesting concepts need one good execution and nothing else.

This dude must have the worst asthma on earth because I almost died from asthma 3 times and I would sure as hell be sprinting for miles if that thing was following me especially if I had my inhaler
I like how both endings for how you deal with the suitcase actually have merit and drawbacks;
-In the curse ending, sure, you're giving the kid a cursed object, but you're also kinda setting up a "legend" about the case that acts as instructions for what to do; Try and open it, then pass it along to the next person.
And we can assume that is *VERY BAD*
Genuinely I adore how the endings arn't "good or bad", but determining how the case will transfer moving forward, based on your actions.
(Yeah, laundering it to the kid a selfish move, but that doesn't mean its a "bad" ending, just that you're a bad oerson in it.)
It’d make more sense to toss the suitcase into a weighted sack since its apparently buoyant & air tight for some reason
>4th deadliest game of hot potato
THERE IS 3 OF THEM BEFORE HAND?! Wait, is one of them the cursed VHS tape(or disc depend on adaptation)?
Just get a car and drive away lmao
Are you really that bad of a person for passing the suitcase along? Your only obligation in life is to look out for yourself. That makes you normal, rather than Evil. Hell, the best way for this to end is just waking past the dying man at the beginning.
Not your problem: No need to make it your problem.
I would just give it the briefcase.

this game gets an S tier rating from me JUST because it actually managed to rattle Veteran Manly! GOOD JOB!
I was surprised he was getting jump scared
Yes! I was surprised by that too lol. The game did really good with it's subtle spooky factor
35:14 I get they're trying to end off with a dramatic shot but bro on the left is posing up and I can't take it seriously. There's police lights and the woman standing there menacingly and then this guy is looking like he's gonna shoryuken a rioter.
the developers used the game mechanics well and dialed the horror up to 11 with such simple concepts and execution. bravo.
I like how manly says "excuse me" while pushing through the crowds. very polite
This is actually such a scary concept makes you feel claustrophobic with all the people crowding in omfg!!😮
This is one of the most intense horror games I've seen in a long time, I'm stressed just watching it lol quality stuff
@tongpoo8985 FOREAL!! and the zoom in on the entity kept it scary and menacing throughout they should do that concept in more horror games
This is a really nice game. I love the subtle touches that add to the overall horrifying vibe. Others mentioned already but the zoom on her face, her movement, the inhaler mechanic and the paranoia/claustrophobia of the crowd. Top notch!
this is like a horror twist on the unstoppable snail that chases you for eternity 😭😭
For real. I have an inhaler for mild asthma, and even just one puff has me shaking like a Chihuahua
I had the pleasure of playing this a Q-con in Belfast Ireland when they showcased it, its amazing to see you playing games from my corner of the world and glad this got a highlight as well
Seeing the panic people playing the demo had was amazing and funny and only a handful there beat the demo at all, thankfully was helping a friends stall for games so on downtime gave it a try

Man what a cool concept for a horror premise, along with the asthma mechanic hindering your character, music warping and creepy camera work when it gets too close to you. Well thought to have the entity linked to an item rather than to a confusing premise like in the movie "It Follows" lol
What? Why do you think it follows is confusing? Loved this game but the entity linked to an item is too cliche and overused

You telling me this woman is just a variant of pontianak
I was thinking it too
_What was the curse_
The tall lady may have been similar to the tall man in It Follows.
It also seems, I guess, she can't follow him on moving vehicle? I mean she suddenly appear when the subway stop, nor trying to enter the ship

If you choose to pass on the case "and curse" to somebody else it will ONLY let you give it to a defenseless, innocent child. wtf?
its evil BUT the kid could easily hand it off to someone else before the kid gets hurt
@@super_manul1167 Until the kid tries to open the case thinking it's a puzzle box and god knows what hell will let loose.
If an asmathic malnourished person can outrun it then i guess the child can
I like it, it makes it so that giving the case away has obvious moral consequences that you can't just reason away, and it makes sense that only a child would be likely to just accept a briefcase from a random homeless person without arguing.
Screw them kids man, my life is worth a whole lot more to me

There needs to be a sequel to 'It Follows'. It was such a unique premise for a horror film and game too if it was expanded more.
There was one for Smile, which I thought would be a one and done, so maybe there's hope for an It Follows sequel.
There has been a sequel confirmed for It Follows
At least it's supposed to start production next year I think
