Finally a honest video. I figured I need more money to cover basic needs (nice food, travelling, freedom) but I dont want to sacrifice my well being for it. I was never attracted to the money game and while a luxury car would be cool, I dont actually want it because I know it would require more sacrifices than I am willing to make.
It is SO important to be honest with yourself like this! Too many of us look at what others want and think we want those things too, but not enough of us reflect to think about what our core values really are.
I don't want to be an employee forever, but unfortunately still stuck working for someone else. I'm already 42, and feel that it's too late to learn the necessary skills. Blogging/writing and online marketing really excite me. But I'm just not confident enough.
As Gary V would say, "you still have so much time!!" 42 is definitely not too late. You've already accumulated so many life experiences and other skills that you can incorporate that into whatever business you start. Use your experience and the years behind you to your advantage - you got this!
Stephen, thanks for this really, really good video. You speak from the bottom of my soul and I‘m happy that finally someone like you is out there telling these simple but constantly overlooked truths. Why? Because so many people have the shiny object syndrome that makes them feel inadequate and less content with what they have. And as you point out, it sounds so simple what these entrepreneurs say and even if they say it‘s hard, this is often not taken seriously enough (I‘m an entrepreneur myself). The price you pay can be very tough. Is it worth it? I think: yes. But I can understand anyone longing for the security of a monthly pay check, knowing their cashflow from month to month, so they don‘t have to worry about it. And what would the world be if everybody wanted to be the „financial go to guy/girl“? I‘m so grateful that people are interested in repairing my car, doing the plumbing in or roofing on my house or working as a secretary or personal assistant. Because this is not me. So thanks for the video! 😊
@@stephenpetro411 Thanks! Always enjoy watching your videos. Thanks for being so unconventional while most other creators are jumping on the train you describe in the video. Really cool - go on like that.

Outstanding ⭐ Stephen as you've mentioned and recommend here about starting business so i too want to become an independent man so which 2-3 books provides most practical and valuable knowledge regarding the subject..
Thanks! If we're talking "practical," definitely start with "A Personal MBA" by Josh Kaufman. For understanding your own income preference and "how" you want to become independent and what independence looks like for you, I highly recommend "Cashflow Quadrant" by Robert Kiyosaki.
The title of this video is misleading. People have to apply the stuff they read, if they don't it does not mean that books are rubbish. Those who could not apply the knowledge in good books will not be able to apply your advice.

Very insightful comment here, Gideon! Each person's dream is their dream and their dream alone. And btw hello to another fellow entrepreneur!

Excellent point - and for sure self-help books are not at all "rubbish". My point here is precisely that experience + information creates true growth.
