Oh man you had the biggest opportunity here to add epicness to the video by using Charr Battle Theme song in the background 😅

I've been playing GW2 for a while and I knew the lore had much to do with GW1 but in truth, I went on to play it almost blind. These lore videos are very interesting, so thank you!

I created my first and only Charr and he was inspired by my black cat. He's an engineer in Iron Legion. At first, I didn't like their weapon animation (maybe because mine is engineer with limited weapon choices) so I had a thought of deleting him and create a new engineer.
I leveled him up and fell in love with Charr's personal story, and now he's my main lol

I can summarize it more: The Charr are like the Klingon.
Lt. Commander Worf : "Our gods are dead. Ancient Klingon warriors slew them a millennia ago. They were more trouble than they were worth."

Hi Evan, I just discovered your channel yesterday, and I have to say it's been real fun watching your videos. I think you're kind of carving your own path in gw2 content space and I think something like this was much needed. I'll be sending all the newbies to your channel. Best of luck with growing your channel.

Well you miss arround 80% of Charrs culture in a whole but at least for the lore after Guild Wars 1 prophecies it is somehow accurate.
One big misunderstanding of the Charr is the military aspect as it is basically a forced aspect rather than an original one. Charr originally were similar to the Norn with a hunting and farming tribe culture (therefore they respect each other quite well )but because of the humans they were driven away from their origanally hunting grounds. This basically lead to the shaman and military influenced culture later on and the long war with the humans mostly with the Ascalonians and the Orians (which got extinct because of a counter meassure to fight the invading Charr).
Beside the high legions there are also the Charr of the Order of Vigil (founded by an ex member of the high legions in order to defeat the elder dragons with military force (which is tolerated by the high legions) , the Olmacan tribe and of course the Charr of Lions Arch which have their roots in pirates and deserting Charr from the high legions as well as merchants.
While the high legions follow a military culture they are not all soldies but in fact trained in different fahrars (basically schools and "orphanages" in one) they learn how they can best help the legions including farm work and other non military oriented fields instead of fighting.) However keep in mind they are natural predators and hunters so even a farmer is able to defend himself if needed.
A missing rank would be the Gladium which is a Charr that has lost his troup members and therefore is considdered to be a non welcome charr by other troups (basically a charr that is stil alive while the rest of his troup is dead is mistrusted and can only gain trust again by joining another troup)

I guess a bit of both, I've played guild war since Factions. It's the only game I've ever found myself always coming back to

this is why it never sat well with me to try and make a charr look cutesy. while i think others can make charr look cute And good at the same time. trying it for myself never really felt right. if id make a charr Character, id have to treat them for what their nature is, i should personally play it safe and dress them as a Soldier, or warbeast. stil pretty cool.
