- We will be talking today about the Kodan, everyone’s favourite bear man beast race! In the upcoming Janthir Wilds expansion we are about to meet the lowland Kodan; I thought it might be interesting to discuss the Kodan we already know and dive a little deeper into their story.

Been watching you for 5 months already (ever since i started playing GW2). I honestly enjoy your videos and you sir deserve more subs. Keep it up!
I always enjoy these lore videos, thanks mate!
My most recent memory with the Kodan was doing the Renown Heart where the player gets quizzed on balance. I did not do good at all, even with multiple choice. I've got respect for the Kodan for such wisdom about balance.
I feel like I largely walk by other races of smaller populations without giving them much thought so these videos are really nice to watch. It gives me a bit more than I normally pick up on while playing (I didn't know the Kodan existed, I'm playing the story in order as a human engineer and haven't finished the core story but I'm so so close)
There is an npc in Hoelbrak that specifically talks about his visit to the Kodan. The Kodan are Norn that assume their bear form naturally as if it was their true form. That is how devout they are in their beliefs.
Your content is TOP TIER, if you keep going like this i'm sure you will eventually blow up man! GGs
Thank you dor sharing your knowledge with us!
Make Kodan playable in GW2 petition starts here and now!
Tengu and Largos FIRST
@Dabuddah I wanna play quagan
Hope they listen comunity :)
Dude I kinda hope it's a surprise when the new expansion drops would be amazing
Never gonna happen lol. But there is a Kodan combat tonic in the game, so you can look like one no matter your actual race in the game!
Great video! On the subject of Kodan and Norn connection, it seems that this is based on a story from the last rising of the elder dragons that speaks of a certain tribe of Kodan leaving the icy north and heading south, never to be seen again. The members of this tribe are believed to be the ancestors to the Norn who have now regressed back to a more primal state and why they are not permanent bears anymore.
Obviously, none of this is confirmed, but it would be interesting to see more.on the history of Kodan. Perhaps Janthir Wilds will shed some light on these things.
May KODA bless you. ❤
I greet you like the sun greets the morning
Another awsome short lore summary. 👍
Your videos are always the shortest two minutes of my life
Do you stream on twitch these days? I'm from Italy so timezone is a bit rough but i might try to catch you live sometimes!
this is really helpful since i guess ANET not gonna include it during the next expansion and assume we all knew this.
I'm curious to know why the lowland bears cut the ties with Koda and if Waiting Sorrow story will be somehow connected with them.
Hey, great video!
could you please tell me the name of the ost you used in this video? thanks! 🙂
I really like the Alolan Kodan
walking talking steven hawking
I'm still much into the theory that Kodans and Norns are related. We might know with the Lowland Kodans. The biggest mystery is why Kodans and Norns praising Earth creatures who most likely appeared on Tyria when the humans been brought by the human gods? Are Kodans and Norns weird humans somehow? That's a mystery!👽
Big, muscular, furry humanoid beasts that live in tribes and love nature and most of them are druids. Now where did i see that i wownder.
You should do one on the biggest dumbasses in GW2 lore/story. I'm thinking Bangar Ruinbringer would be right up there, having just done that step in the Icebrood saga story...
Nice shirt.
Black bears are best!
Fact: Bears eat beets. Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica!
*mic drop*
@kwith, Battlestar Galactica, one of the best tv shows ever made. I watch the whole series every year or so. I have all the DVD’s, but also found it on Blu-ray recently, so I purchased them too.
