  • Warm weather is here for this overnight adventure on the gulf coast in Panama City, Florida. The weather was great and just being "Out There" was what I needed to reboot my system from a busy and recently stressful life. Hope you enjoy this adventure as much as I did!!!!

    Great adventure. I live about three miles to the marina boat ramp. I wish it still looked like that but hurricane Michael destroyed most everything. We coming back. Can’t wait to take my board out this spring. SUP❤️. You cracked me up when you asked the crab where’s your brother???

    Trip, you caught colors. If you listen closely to "Retreat" at the beginning, you can hear the pitter patter of sailor feet as they run to the nearest indoor location to avoid having to salute for the anthem....

    I like how you talk about the things that you usually "forget" on some of your adventures !!! I found that different color zip up bags that I find for a dollar or 2 at yard sales work with keeping my camping/ cooking/ salt water / fresh water/ fire making gear separated and EZ to spot and make sure I don't leave something needed ! Thanks for taking us along !! I'd love to try and make one of your subscriber trips !

    Glad to see another great video Trip. 💗 here's a quick tip.... if you ever find yourself without a spoon again and you have an empty water bottle, you can DIY a spoon by cutting around one of the "scooped" parts at the bottom and up the sides for the handle. There are probably a few vids about it on the UA-cams, just like everything else LOL

    • @TripSmith
      @TripSmith  6 років тому +1

      Thanks Catherine! I like the water bottle idea! Great tip, thanks for sharing!!!!

      Starcat Catherine Hale sweet idea. I just make a pair of chop-sticks if I am caught without a cooking or eating utensil. It's literally two sticks. Voila!

      Ah.... Well now I know lol Thanks you two!

    • @jplxlabelle1681
      @jplxlabelle1681 6 років тому +1

      Loose_ Cannon Not necessary. Simply place you hand over the spout to create back preasure to prime. No need to waste water on a pump that may not work..
      Edit. Also, never pour salt water into this type if pump, unless you own it.

    Future tip you can pour boiling water into the knor sides bag and it wont leak. you could also make a cozy out of refelctix or you can cut up a car sun reflecting panel and make it out of that. It saves fuel and keeps food warm and will continue to cook it well after you've boiled the water.

    The sound you heard coming from the water would likely be bottle nose dolphins. We don't typically have any porpoise in this area. The stingray tail you found was probably what was left over from a hammerheads meal! They love to eat rays!

    • @TripSmith
      @TripSmith  6 років тому

      Hmmm, you are probably right! I really don't know other than I was told through people who probably don't really know that most of what I see down there isn't dolphins but porpoises. Sounds like your information comes from much a much more knowledgeable background. Thanks for the info!!!

    That pump is not out of service. Lol. You have to pump the shit out of those pumps. Because the seal isnt great when they are new, let alone when they are used up. You really have to pump like your life depends on it.
    Many properties up here in Canada still use this type of pump for vegetables and livestock. Or an electric version upgrade.

    Hey Trip. I noticed you carry a lot if Instant Breakfasts. Did you know you can get powder pouches that weigh 1/6th of the liquid version? That would drop quite a few Oz's. Also a good water filter will eliminate the need to carry 20 lbs of water. Get a MIO electrolyte to flavour the filtered water if you like.
    Sawyers are great but wont remove salt.
    Great video as usual

    • @TripSmith
      @TripSmith  6 років тому

      Well, when I'm in a salt water environment I'd have to carry the water in anyhow.... I have a good water filter that I carry on fresh water trips for that purpose. The desalination filters are pretty expensive.... Not worth it to me at this point in time.

    Hi,Trip 👍🏻👊🏻 Awesome overnight camp out and Paddling the Kaku adventure in PCB it’s great to see you ( Out There ) I hopping to see you catch some crabs for dinner, I enjoy your adventures and I can’t wait for warmer weather to arrive, my kayaks are already on the trailer. I live 6 hours away from PCB but there are plenty of lakes in Georgia. I have finally saved up enough to get a camera so I’m still debating on either the GoPro Hero 5 or Hero 6 plus a Canon 80 D would be nice 😊. I’m also going to purchase a AirPro Max seat for my kayak so I will be sitting up a little higher. Trip thanks for sharing, enjoy and have a Great 👍🏻 Friday,looking forward to seeing more adventures from you !!!! Danny

    Oh man, I have some great memories of PCB...but they involve being in college years ago and Club La Vela. Say no more, let's keep this show family friendly haha! Question where were you going to camp originally, the north end of the bay?

    • @TripSmith
      @TripSmith  6 років тому

      Uh huh..... I have some o the same memories.... I would have more of them but they never made the next morning ;)
      Yes, the north end. If you look on Google Maps, I was going to follow the shore north of "Marina Landing Condominiums" Looks like a pretty nice spot and probably wouldn't be anyone around.... Also looks like plenty of grass for crabs!

    Hey trip it might be a little bit of a drive for you but you auto check out the Satilla River in Georgia it's about 40 miles north of Jacksonville Florida it's very similar to the upper Swanee except a lot less known it's also a lot more remote it,s a beautiful Blackwater River with a lot of sandbars on just about every Bend check it out on Google Earth it's possible to do a 20-mile trip and have the whole river to yourself anyways really enjoy your videos man I do a lot of hiking kayak and boat in myself I even did that same Loop hike up the Cheaha area
