  • Bungie's newest seems to commit almost every single mistake that the last one did, though the efforts of the Live Team do give some cause for hope, as sandbox improvements are beginning to make themselves felt with this release.

Good points I feel exaxtly the same. It's not bad it's lazy and for that reason even more disapppointing after all the acknowledgement Bungie made about getting Player feedback.

Very nice review. I had thoughts in buying the game, but now the idea is gone. Love the way you talk about the details and role plot of games, changes and perspective you give.
Also... Where's the GOW (GOTY) review? Any date when you gonna release yours? I and maybe a lot of people are very anxious to see your thoughts and perspective about it.
Nice work and keep going, you are one the best!

Not only BUNGIE buddy... ACTIVISION is the root of the problem... And our unsatisfied thirst for money, power and whatever we want the most, desire and how much (quantity)... Blame humanity for this, just like this happening with this game, Destiny, its happening to any other game and now this selfishness and personal desires its affecting the world in an increased amount and rate, its so off the charts that another world war is near thus meaning that humanity is the one to blame... Of the end... OF EARTH OUR WORLD.

Maybe to you, but definitely in my opinion, finding something completely unrelated to the topic and then intertwining it in such a way that it fits into the topic better than any longwinded explanation is not pretentious, but quite intelligent! It's only eye roll inducing if you don't realise the symbolic touch it has to the rest of the video, or refuse to accept it. Enjoy the video regardless. :)

It's a euphemism for how such a big pile of SHIP while grand in scale is about as usefull as a ton of rocks at the bottom of a swimming pool: only the really tall will stub their toes on them while the semi-tall, the tall, and the regulars and obviously shorts won't. So point being:
Stop swimming like a professional olympian and start doggie paddling if you want to enjoy Destiny 2, so you don't swing the entire length of this short ass fucking story that damn fast, lawl.

I went from being a clan leader with over 600 members, running weekly raid groups, and owning every exotic in destiny 1 through TTK. After all their crap I finally said “enough” after that. Swearing I’d never pick up another destiny game unless their got their crap together. Videos like this confirm I made the right choice.

I hope this doesn't come as dismissive, but I never really tuned into your channel due to your thumbnails! I tend to avoid large text in thumbnails to stray away from clickbait or another "what's up guys it's _______." But when the analogy between the ship and the Destiny franchise came together, I wish I had tuned in sooner. Your eloquent and fair sense of judgement is a treat to listen to, and might compete with some of my favorite channels (BunnyHop and Joseph Anderson).

zagazsanology oh man you can’t do that to yourself, he’s very much the wordsmith I fancy myself to despite falling far short of this. If you want to sample what I personally consider the greatest of the admittedly far too small of a sample of his work to even make such claims, check out his Nier Automata video. It made me very much want to play a game I had zero interest in playing and actually wanted not to play. I’ve still yet to play it, but ...I’m not sure how to explain it except as follows.
Have you ever heard someone speak about something in such a way/with such insight/passion/depth that it kind of blows your mind for a second and makes you momentarily question your sanity/the ability for your brain to function at such a level?
Such as a college or even high school professor explaining a piece of literary history, whether poetry or an epic novel, With such appreciation and understanding of the material that’s so in depth and nuanced that you’re not sure if you’re just a feeble minded fool or if they’re functioning at a much higher level than you, but either way it completely changed the meaning/your understanding of a topic you thought you’d had a decent grasp on.
Well that’s kind of how his Nier video made me feel about how I play/consume/understand video gaming in general, in particular single player story type games. I’d always been aware that there was something I was missing when playing such games, I could never get into them/feel invested/care at all/feel like I was in the game or whatever it is that makes it enjoyable, or even playable at all, but that Nier video gave me some clarity onto what exactly that difference was (besides A.D.D. & inability to play a game if it wasn’t demanding my full attention).
Anyway check it out if you want to hear him when he’s pleasantly surprised instead of utterly disappointed

Man, at the end there when you were talking about how we're still on the waves of the launch inertia and this is all just remnants of some issues the game had before launch and how Bungie's finally going to be able to deliver on what they want and I'm just here thinking.... we've been EXACTLY in this same spot three years ago. It's absolute insanity I tell you. If I let myself look forward to the future of this game, with what I've had to go through with D1 and what I've seen from this first year of D2, I'd think myself a fool.
What a shame such potential was so unwieldy to those who conceived it; it truly is.

They take your money they slightly improve to average standards and then bam you buy the next game thinking they are guna continue improving but wait no they didn't they give u garbage again and the cycle continue. People going to buy d3 because d2 was improved on and forget we have bin in this exact cycle with d1 like literally the same cycle patch and all go ahead and release the d2 taken king equivalent watch ppl tell u its great now and they can get scammed with d3

I've never seen any of your videos before but after playing through warmind and starting on the grind, your thumbnail really grabbed my attention. I've resigned myself to playing this game that is fun with friends and misery without, knowing full well it could be better. I guess it's that hope that things will improve that keeps me playing so I'll be ready for the good stuff. Anyway, I really enjoyed your video and I hope to see more of your content in the future!

Your reviews as always are phenomenal. I appreciate how even when you have created a verdict on something; positive or negative; that you still take the time and effort to explain the good and bad parts, and how one outweighs the other. (Your analogies are great as well as informative also.) You have no problem shitting on something when it deserves it, but at the same time will praise the good and/or redeeming elements as well. I truly look forward to your dissection of the 'Taken Queen' expansion in September (obviously what it probably will not actually be called).
Bungie claims they want to have more open discussion summits with others in the community in the future and according to those that went to the first one it seemed they were truly listening (maybe for the first time). If they really believe in what they are releasing in September and what they want to create moving forward they'd invite you to prove it. (Though due to your momentary outburst and loss of composure that one time; despite it being because you cared so much about the world of Destiny; it probably won't happen.

Pretty spot on review. I feel the same way about so many decisions they’ve made as you do about the decision to bring Sleeper Simulant back. Who is making these decisions? Why do they still have a job? Why is there literally no innovation in this game? I, like you, do see light at the end of the tunnel. It used to make me mad, now it makes me sad.

I just have to say this...skillup...what a complete and utter perfect analysis of the game. You got a sub from me. I only, honestly, disagree with the idea that it isnt time to come back...i feel like now is the time. If you are waiting for September now is the time to come back. Just come back part time. With a summer event around the corner...its time to grind. Even if its just for the non story content. Escalation is real and the raid lair is interesting and very different than the last one. The story is meh. But I appreciate you not wanting to perpetuate the hate train. 🚆 💩. Anywho keep up the good work brother.

Thirst Quencher The reason I know you haven't done the raid is because only a dozen teams have completed it so far. You aren't part of any of those. And as for escalation protocol, it's likely you've done maybe 1 wave. You have to do the whole thing to decide whether you "like it" or not. I'm not a fanboy for defending the game, I just hate stupid criticism like you gave, not to mention you asserted your opinion as fact which is absurdly wrong.

I really don't give a shit about story. But what I hate about this DLC is the lack of midgame progression. Once you are done with the story missions, your next stop is basically the high level endgame activities like EP and raid, which require majority of players to grind three or four more weeks of milestones before you can do them.

I like your approach to this review. I watched your visceral review of Osiris and thought "wow". Granted, I never played Destiny and am a late player to Destiny 2. I have started playing Warmind and started playing it when I hit about 330's . I didn't realize that 340 is the soft cap. Your video made me sad because I am pretty much at 340 now. I do not plan on doing raids because I am a casual player and usually can't dedicate my time. I don't do pvp so I feel that the next "goal" I guess is to figure out what gear I want at 340 and optimise it and then switch to other characters to rinse and repeat. I look forward to your review of the next DLC. Based on your previous reviews, I am hesitant to pay the full price for it.

I honestly think that this game could have been the Star Wars (the films) of games with a mixture of WoW lore, Halo like gun-play, add that with a well planned story, Similarly to how Cory Barlog, Matt Sophos, Richard Zangrande Gaubert (God of War) did as they have planned where the story goes and the current game is simply just the first chapter of the story they have written. The thing is Bungie dont have an excuse, they are well funded and work under a company that has a whole host of established brands. I just dont understand how they have fell so dramatically short of all expectations whilst working on one of the biggest titles, with a rich history under their belt.

The simple fact is that they are lazy and uninspired and lack passion. It takes them months to implement changes that other games (Warframe) takes days to make. To the devs, this is just a 9-5 job that pays the bills; they couldn't care less about the final product.
