    “Relationships are like the Sun, when it’s overbearing we flee it. When it backs off, we seek it.”

      @@kikachinchilla894it's obvious, don't you think? Anything that's overbearing, that's suffocating, you will flee from. Can you stay under the sun for hours without getting burnt? Without suffering? Can you resist someone who is continually on your back, who wants continual validation? Who judges you endlessly, who gets offended easily? Reflect mate. It's pretty simple.

      @@gabykappscomposermariagabr749aaahh, you sound like a textbook dismissive avoidant.
      There is independence and then there is interdependence…very different.
      Counter dependent (which is sounds like you are) is every bit as toxic and problematic as co-dependent.

    I can't tell you how absolutely needed this was for me and my partner right now. We are exactly in the thick of it. This video could not have been more tailored to our experience. You are becoming our favorite spiritual teacher, your videos really help us navigate an enormous amount of stress and pressure and trauma and triggering, which is also connected for us to the larger global crisis. Thank you and namaste!

    Thank you! I've been a reader and listener for about a year, but have had a few weeks of a static and empty feeling. This talk caught me at just the right time and I felt a much needed release of emotion. Very grateful for your work!

    Thank you for reminding me to forgive myself when I choose flight when faced with fight or flight. And thank you for reinforcing the idea that I had the other day - what decision is from my higher self? And lastly, thank you for giving me the vocabulary to help people understand that my needs have not been met. Your videos help me all the time, sometimes they are so informative I feel like I’m forgetting information as you say it but I feel like my subconscious will pick it up at least and I’m grateful for that too

    It’s all so sad. I feed feral cats (many very friendly) and feel such love, yet it is very difficult to connect with people. Very distressing to me. Just have never been able to bond with people.

    • @angelwolf5089
      @angelwolf5089 2 роки тому +3

      I'm with you @Lily Cat 🐈. But people are what we've got: the good, bad & ugly. Usually a combination...and that's giving them the benefit of the doubt. Felines operate on an entirely different plane, offer unconditional love and have that uncanny barometer when it comes to determining someone's character. They soften life's edges and provide solace. Take ❤️ heart. People who feel a natural connection with cats (other animals as well) share unique qualities. Concentrate on celebrating those & be grateful that we have many ways in which we take solace in the non-human ways. Maybe we can grab a thread of that royal fabric & extend it to people as well 🐾🐈💖🙂

    Tara, please share with people the work of Dr. John Gottman, who is very helpful with the things that you’re teaching people his work with people who are critical, defensive, contemptuous and stonewalling is directly applicable to the things you’re trying to share. He gives very concrete ideas about how to help people not do these things, and that begin to heal their relationship and each other, thank you

    I enjoyed this talk. That was smb's occasional recommendation, one of those amazing cases when external world sends me helpful hint at that very moment I need it the most. Just before watching this I had a disappointing conversation with my partner. He said smth, I overreacted, got angry, felt disconnected and all of that... I hope next time I'll be able to hold me reactions and "rechoose love" instead. Thanks for the lesson!
    But pls allow me also to respond to the unexpected ending of your video, where you talk about Russian invasion to Ukraine. You advise to beat hate with love, think about all the humans at the other side and so on. Being an Ukrainian I cannot accept that advice. Seeing the level of cruelty, all the tortured and killed people, raped woman and kids(!), destroyed cities. Hearing call phones conversations recordings between russian soldgiers and their moms and wives who have no mercy for Ukrainians, who advise their sons to steal things from our homes, who are happy to hear about our losses... We've been a very loving and forgiving nation, and probably that was a big mistake.
    I rechoose to love my country, my family, my friends. But I also learn to hate russians and will make sure to disconnect from them as much as possible.
