It hasn't even been a full year since Insomniac released Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PlayStation 5, but leaks for a potential Marvel's Spider-Man 3 title have allegedly surfaced. These leaks reportedly come from the expansive Insomniac leak that occurred in December. That leak was the result of a ransomware group hacking Insomniac and unleashing 1.6 terabytes of development plans, employee data and more. Among those files was key information on Insomniac's Wolverine game, including plot details and gameplay, as well as future projects through 2032. Now, it appears that an early build of a potential Spider-Man 3 is now part of that information dump. The build allegedly comes from the same group of modders that took a Spider-Man 2 dev build and ported it over to PC. That build made the entire Spider-Man 2 game, which is currently exclusive to PS5, playable on a PC.
Taking to Twitter, two screenshots of an alleged Spider-Man 3 build were posted on Friday. The two screenshots showcase what appears to be Cindy Moon's Silk swinging through Central Park. The character's costume lines up with Silk's real-life comic book outfit, though it's impossible to say if this is simply a mod or an actual build. - Ігри

Excuse me sir but the leaker said it himself that he isn't sure if its the official early built or modded. Look at it carefully, you'll see that they are developing Marvel's Spider Man 2 PC and Silk's suit is modded. Plus look at how Silk swings. They are reusing Miles' swinging animations. Take it with a grain of salt

I’m pretty sure the SM3 “leak” was a PC mod, not Insomniac’s next installment.

Here's the thing, if after three games people are already tired of your gameplay, doesn't that just mean your gameplay was never good enough in the first place? I mean think about it, Yakuza games always played the same for 15 years before they changed to turn based combat and nobody was bored of those games.

It's not a leaked gameplay (technically )it's a gameplay from a build made recently of the leaked code, both are playable and can be downloaded from pirate sites.

The gameplay / graphics should start start looking better once they put the rainbow flags in the background.
There is zero surprise anymore. I want a game to come out and be surprised about it.

@TheRockhopper77 no it's called. Everyone has to make content to make money. No one helps me do plumbing to make money. No leaks on what the issue is. People still bought games when all there was, was e3 and game magazine. It was probably even more since you had to buy the game to see if it was good. There were no reviews for anything till next month when the next game informer magazine came out. People cry to much anymore and need to see the whole game before it launches.

I agree somewhat with what DreamcastGuy said concerning the rise in retro gaming. While the "wow" factor is certainly a part of it, I don't think that is the major factor. I believe economics is mainly the biggest factor. Here's why:
1. New games now cost $70. That is a lot of money. Gaming is already an expensive hobby and that increase is problematic for many people. Now before the knuckle draggers come with the "if you can't afford it, don't do it" argument, note that if you are rich or have no other life responsibilities, this doesn't apply to you.
2. Because of the high prices for new games, more people are "remembering" that they have a huge backlog of games to play. They have already spent thousands of dollars in games already, in many cases they have not even seen the opening credits, so they are going back to the old games they already own.
3. Nostalgia. Older games are cheaper by and large, and there is nothing like something being cheaper to inspire some nostalgia. "I can get this game I loved to play and enjoy that feeling again for $10-20? Sign me up!"
I believe that the figure of more people playing retro will only grow. Not everyone wants or can afford to go forward so many will now reach into the past for their gaming goodness.

spider man is a case of painting yourself into a corner. The formula is getting a little old, but if they change it too much they will catch flak for that too.
Wolverine has a lot of potential to have a very different experience to it, and it's early enough I think we can let them cook and leave them be.

The main thing I want them to improve with SM3 is the interiors, as in, make more of them, perhaps improve the stealth gameplay further? It was better in SM2 but not as much as I would have liked.

Spider man 3 is supposed to come out in 2028 according to the leaks so it just being silk in the spider man 2 map makes sense
If people are smart enough to realize that an unannouced game to be a masterpiece, they wouldnt complain about the game still in development. Insomniac do not show the game yet is because of the quality still not up to the point yet and people leak the unfinished work is horrible.

It seems that a way they could try and address the need for consistency of the plot, they could change game play by allowing for different partner's to be recruited and missions around different hero's, or you get different gadgets that can be collected from villains and they give you unique gameplay experiences without sacrificing the original expected spiderman wall crawler.

Theres a pretty good Wolverine game on PS3 😉 On the Spiderman game I only played the first one. That was enough for me. I do have Miles Morales coz my son wanted to play it but i just thought it looked more of the same, and so does the 2nd one. I might get to it eventually but I’ve a huge back catalogue to get through. Currently playing PS3/360 games.
I really like how spider man has become from friendly kids character to a political agenda at this point. Thank you insomaniac😊

This is ridiculous. Critiquing a game years from release. In 3 years, new innovation might change everything. They might have a Spider-Man costume designer create your own Spider-Man outfits. Maybe we can go into every building. Smash windows an enter apartments. Maybe add the Rachet and Crank portals and jump to the Savagelands, Wakanda, and Asgard with no load times. Or the controllers rumble is the spider sense time it right and do evasion combos
Wolverine might have a berserk meter. Fill it up and do an ultra fast attack. Intimidation causing thugs to run or interrogations. Or like Dead Red Redemption, you have to be careful being seen killing. Too much and SHIELD comes after you
3 years is a long time. We can't know what the future will bring in technology. So let's chill enjoy the games we currently have and worry about 2026 games on launch.

Spiderman 3 will be their last Spidey game. They'll likely make a few Wolverine games, but once Spider-Man is done, they'll be able to start a new IP so maybe we'll see something new. I fully expect the games to remain familiar throughout the end of Spider-Man and the Wolverine trilogy (assuming they're doing a trilogy). Insomniac is very efficient and get games out in around 4 years instead of the usual 5-7. In order to do that, they can't do any drastic changes. Once they can spend time on something new, they'll be able to change things up, but it's gonna be a while before that happens so keep your expectations in check.
They should be kept away from anything spider man

Besides the whole deaf girl segment and the Colgate suit, didn’t see much damage to SM2. Hopefully now that the gaming community is turning on Sweet Baby even if it’s just to save a couple of millions in development cost

The woke stuff for Marvel's Spider Man 2 are for side missions only and they are minor and aren't important so they serve no purpose and they don't ruin the overall experience. Plus those side missions are optional too. The term "woke" is being overused alot these days that's it's becoming cringe and lost its meaning. Woke doesn't make any game worse. Like Baldur's Gate 3 has way more woke then Marvel's Spider Man 2 but it won GOTY.
