The spirit of the people in absolutely incredible and their smiles are amazing. I've smiled so much that my face hurts. I'm not Filipino but I'm so proud of the Philippines, the best place on earth. Thanks for sharing this with the world!
Mike, you and Bianca need to go to Mindanao in 2024. Visit places like Sarangani (where Manny "Pacman" is from), General Santos (GenSan), Davao Esplanade (say "Hi!" to Kumander Daot), Cateel (where BecomingFilipino lives), Tagum City (some of the Boys Scouts you met live there), and so many, many majestic beaches, hot springs, and falls. 🏝 ⛵️ 🛶 🌄
True story, when I was kid in Subic Bay, I was first a Webelo and then became a boy scout in the Philippines. The most interesting thing about being a boy scout in the PI was the fact that we were given jungle survival training by Marine Corps Jungle Warfare trainers. Man...watching those kids brings back memories. As Americans we were able to interact with our Philippine counterparts as part of a cultural exchange. This is a wonderful video!! At about 6:40 in, you are talking to a scoutmaster with the traditional boy scout uniform on. You brought a huge smile on my face when I saw his neckerchief using a water buffalo slide. A Filipino Boy Scout and I traded our slides and for the rest of my time in the Philippines, I wore the Water Buffalo slide. Man...i'm still sitting here grinning watching this!!!
I used to be a cub scout and boy scout during the late 70's. I remember going to a Jamboree in Tuguegarao and Naga if I'm not mistaken when I went to school here in the Philippines. Five to six years later after my Mom petition me to U.S., I joined the U.S. Army. Boy Scout helped me mold to be a better teen at an early age and decided that I want to join the Army someday. Mission accomplished..👍
What a great Effort in Research, sort of Educational Report and Personal Visit to places in Philippines. Must be tiring. Dedicating your Life to make your Subscribers well updated for Knowledge.
I was a boyscout at early 7years old until i graduated elementary then move to the u.s at hischool. Yep firebuilding with rocks smelling it like gun powder, that sniffing skills😂 for elements that ignites fire is the key and bamboo friction, campfire horror stories with fellow teamates like bros, 5 am morning run, tent making, different rope tie and knots for emergency or situational purposes, treeplanting, forest scouting for flora and plants knowledge for first aid kit and anti insect and even stage acting competetion of the life of bayani heroes of the philippines like rizal and lapulapu in the scouting. Perform well on those task you get a pin, or the one they slide on the belt like plastic badge. That was a beautiful memory and educational. That was the old ways of philippines before technology came. Childhood i live my life to the fullest, it was memorable and honorable
I attended the 10th national and the first asia-pacific regional jamboree held at the Boys Scouts Camp at the Mt.Makiling, LosBaños, Laguna December 1973.
When i was in 6th grade a attended a boyscout jamboree in baguio, it’s not just a national but an international one too, since some asian countries too joined. I completed all the activities and won’t forget this childhood experience for the rest of my life!
Yup, wanted to hug the vlogger! I think a Cub & Scout motto includes “Fraternity”, correct? 😊Lovely hardworking scout leaders & organizers wanted some fraternization!

Sure did, nice if him to set aside a moment
The plant that you thought was corn--it's actually sugarcane. Passi is known for sugarcane and pineapple plantations in the province
Thank you! Explains why it was so tall
