- S&P Global Ratings' Anthony Walker says productivity is a “big issue” for the economy going forward.
The looming federal budget will need to strike the right balance between providing cost of living relief and not loading up Australian consumers and businesses with too much extra cash.
Mr Walker told Sky News Australia that the economy has been “underperforming” government forecasts on productivity.
“In reality its been very, very difficult to g productivity higher," he said.
“In fact the last couple of years its been very weak outcomes on productivity.”
Half the country is employed to put impediments in the way of the productive half.

Productivity is way too high it seems for the ALP fiscal mismanagers.
Tends to happen when industry is exported for the past 30 years. Resulting in a service economy that can't afford to service the servicing.

What about a sort of civil conscription, where everyone has to produce reports on their productivity say once a day? That would help.
