I once shortened an inner tube from 24 to 22 inch, to fit a smaller weelsize. I was making a functional rustbucket to put at trainstations out of two wrecked bikes I got for free.
I'm quite proud of that one...
...it stil got stolen tho, obsly

I built every bike I currently ride. In fact, I just finished a new bike last week.
I now have a carbon fiber lowracer (2016), a chromoly Cruzbike Silvio Clone (2017), and now an aluminum hyper-aero bike.

I think if you are like me and pedal with your feet pointing slightly down that moving the cleats back would mean a lower seat height, and slight aero gains.

Currently making a bracket to strengthen the area around the bridge on the seat stays of a Cinelli track frame so i can put a rear brake on but reduce the stress on the bridge so it doesn’t collapse. Some might say it’s heresy or mad but it’s fun (i just don’t want a fixie, sorry). Also drilling the top tube to hide the rear cable having bought some recessed cable guides

This is an interesting chat...especially about cleat position. I ride with the cleats right back since it tends to give more power. I can point my toes down, which seems to give me more power through the bottom of the stroke and then also allows me to pull on the way back up. Obvs, I cannot keep this up for long, but in a bit of a sprint it seems to work. This is just me, and I am pants on a cycle, but I was going to ask this question.
