The Corvair project is one of my favorate projects for me on UA-cam. Was just thinking the other day that I wish there was another episode, and here it is.
I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the work that goes into making these videos. On top of the work on the car. I truly enjoy what you do.
thanks for the updates. I appreciated seeing the previous video/ concert, it is nice to see the other sides of a craftsman. For most of us, cars are a hobby, our real life does not often show to others if they only see one side of us.
John I enjoy watching your videos. This has been another great series. You talent and skills never cease to amaze me. This is going to be a cool Corvair!
I love this project! When the second gen Corvairs came out I thought they were beautiful cars and dreamed of building a mid-engined version. Never happened but I'm enjoying your progress on yours. Can't wait until it's finished.
Try watching bad obsession motorsports and "project Binky" you may get a new video once a year or two. And they have 2 guys working on that mini Cooper (classic).
Impressing work and impressing skills . I have learned so much from you - tips and tricks how to design and about fabrication of parts. Cheers form Norway
Your fabrication continuous to amaze me. BTW, Goggle stated this, Do high IQ people like classical music? Individuals who liked classical music the most had a significantly higher IQ than those who did not like classical music. This must be the reason why you are so good of what you do👍. You can't rush a masterpiece. Awaiting for the next vlog.
Thanks, but I'm not sure about the higher IQ. The similarities between being a musician and fabricator are staying focused and patient. Throw in not wanting to settle for average and making every piece, note the best you can.
John, as always, amazing work. I wonder how many linear feet of weldomg you have done and will do in total when the build is complete. My estimation is about a mile.
A random thought. I wonder if it would be possible to gut a cheap reverse cycle portable air conditioning unit to use as the hvac in a vehicle? It would probably need to be an inverter based unit.
The head cam works great because I can use both hands while working. It's really practical too, just strap it on and go. Down side is it can be shaky if I'm looking around.
@@JohnReynolds661 Thanks John. They do look good, but that firmness may be less good looking after a long road trip for me. I appreciate that info. I'll check 'em out nonetheless.
Hey John, what are you doing here? I thought you completed your project, still fiddling? I already launched my boat after a four year build, yeah.... and guess what? tons of rework and unexpected issues (e.g. broken centerboard).... oh, well. bolting on these Amazon parts is not as easy as expected 🙂
Your videos are indeed, "Stop the press," because I have to watch them. I am amazed at the level of your craftsmanship. EXCELLENT!
Very few videos I drop everything for and watch, these are some of them. Absolutely love the Corvair project!
Agree!
Appreciate the update video!

You do incredible work. Thank you for taking the time to post another video on your channel.
I agree!! This is one of the best YT car build channels.
Thanks for the update John, your fine craftsmanship is a joy to watch. Thanks for taking us along for the ride!
My favorite project on youtube. I retired from body and custom projects about 14 years ago after almost 50 years of building stuff.
Love watching your videos. Especially love your high brow humor!!

We missed you. Thanks. Looking forward to the next drop
Nice work as always. Your fabrication is top notch.
I am always fascinated in your bracket fabbing skills.
Nice to see you finally able to get back to work on the Corvair. Looking forward to the test drive👍.
We had a v8 vair in 1976. Kelmark engr helped. Easy peasy
This guy is a master craftsman I'm jealous as hell
Patience of a saint. And how you accumulated awareness of all those tools and how to use them. Much respect.
"Here's a great fabrication video with a dash of wit."
Dayum, bud. Your talents have no limits. This is almost as terrific as your horn playing.
Ha, thanks Rick. Say, I subscribed to your channel but didn't se any videos, when you going to put some up?
@@JohnReynolds661 I have a channel? I had no idea. Guess I need to find it…

It seems like I've been waiting forever for this update!
Thank you for your time! Love your work and jokes.
Makes me want to learn to play the French Horn! 😜
It's really simple to play. You'll have it mastered in a few days. Ha!
Carry on , PLEASE ..!
Thanx
I'll just wish it wasn't so long between videos I love watching your work...
With the Bronco in the rear view, I should be up to speed. It takes about 50 hours of content to make a watchable 10 minute video.
Try watching bad obsession motorsports and "project Binky" you may get a new video once a year or two. And they have 2 guys working on that mini Cooper (classic).
Awesome job, good sir.
Chris is probably the best looking helper on the property as well.
That she is. I'm a lucky guy.
You do nice work John 👍
I make my own A/C hoses with that crimp tool all the time. It might be the one thing I can do as well as you.
Very fun. You are one meticulous human being.
Very pleased to see an update. You do brilliant work.
Absolutely love this
A joy to watch, as always
8:38 nice reversing of the video, had to recheck, looked off!
Thanks John, this Corvair is so sweet and coming along nicely.
Cheers 👍💪✌
Thanks for the update ! 💪👍🏼

Great job on getting that bend on the first shot.
I lucked out on that first bend for sure.
I've got somewhere to be but John has dropped another Corvair video. I guess I'll be late.
Glad to see you again. Amazing work you do.
So glad for the update! 👍
Fantastic. Thanks!
Amazing fabrication skills!
I love watching your videos.
Awesome craftsmanship!
You do awesome work. Big job well done.
Yes!! A Corvair update!
I bought one of those crimpers. Haven't used it yet though. Looks like I should buy some extra fittings and hose just in case :)
Man, that's really packed in there! Ever think of building a larger car? Like maybe an old Buick or Imperial?
good job John 👍💪
Great!
You have my upmost respect
very cool - just found your channel , and odd that I live less than 2 miles from you ! lol - might run into you at marias or ace at some point :)
Or maybe the Rustic Mercantile.
those are NOT drain plates,,,those were fixture holes for production at body assy......nice job
Good to know, thanks.

nice!
You should name this car Project Nader Hater.
great build, nice work!! where can i pick up one of those nice vise mount benders?
I just searched on line, what's it called Duo-Mite? Anyway, this is the original which was expensive. I've since seen less expensive knock-offs.
👍👍😎👍👍
😁👍
John, exemplary work as usual! Can you tell me the brand and model driver's seat you have there in the Corvair?
Thanks, seats are Corbeau. I believe it's GTS II. Nice seat but pretty firm.
@@JohnReynolds661 Thanks John. They do look good, but that firmness may be less good looking after a long road trip for me. I appreciate that info. I'll check 'em out nonetheless.
You had the gloves on the wrong hands.
There was no instructions for the gloves but yeah, I think that was the whole problem.

I have been watching your project videos since the beginning and I can't help but ask: "What's your next project?"
Thanks, the new project is sitting in the garage and will be unveiled soon.
Does "Chris" have automotive aspirations?
Not really. One in the family is enough though.
hiiii
Paint it black !!!!
I like cannery yellow
Can we stop with the term frunk for the trunk that’s in the front? We don’t call the one in the rear a rrunk….
I don't know what to call them but I'm open for suggestions. The engine isn't in the front or rear and Neither one carries any luggage.
@@JohnReynolds661 How about calling them what they are. A trunk for Americans or a boot for our English friends across the pond.
@@Youseguys Which one is the trunk, the front or back or is it front trunk and rear trunk?
@@JohnReynolds661 Doesn’t matter. A trunk is a trunk no matter which end. Or if you prefer a boot
It's been so long since I've seen you work on this car, I lost track of where you were, where you been? Javi G.
8 months on the Bronco project.
