Thanks for the video again Ashley. This roof tile is a hell of job just using roof scraper. I lost money on a roof like this scrapping a one day job ended up being a day and 1/4 over.. so low pressure washing and chems is definitely the way forward.. top man Ashley 😁👍👍
Great video Ashley the pressure for that It may be is lower one is that correct ...!!! It doesn't matter what the people say as long as the costumer are happier the method that you using on that It's the best for the treatment on that roof and others that's why the customers don't calling anymore well done ...!!
There are people trying to get into roof cleaning who are not even familiar with what a pressure washer can do, but I think it’s good to get some experience using one on the ground first.
Great job Ashley, love the jobs where you can uncover so much colour on the tiles. We have a similar bungalow roof coming up on our channel that is a similar transformation
Another great vid Ash, can I ask please what do you use to power the biocide in the pole? Do you use a dostron? Or another method to power it up the pole? Many thanks for any help, just about to start buying my roof cleaning kit and unsure which road to go for that? Thanks Steve
I don’t like the Dosatron systems, the biocide solution is too thick for it. I prefer a pump trolley setup which will easily pump the solution from ready mixed barrels.👍🏼
Morning. Do you ever have any issues with the surface cleaner on deep contour tiles? Would the rotating bar hit the tile and would you still get an equal clean? Just bought a set up to use here in Ireland and going to do my first roof this week. I’ve been just a scrape and biocide operator until now. Thanks for your help. Much appreciated. Matthew
You have to be really careful with the fsc on these tiles. It can depend on how stubborn the moss is. Sometimes it can really cling on in the bottom of those grooves. I might increase the pressure slightly on these. But I always treat with biocide afterwards to make sure anything that might be left behind is killed off.
Hi,been thinking of jumping on a set up as a bolt on service to my grounds maintenance business, but not sure between a hot box or cold pressure washing soft wash roof clean set up,but cost will differ,as looking for best results. Great content as always.
I think cold pressure is enough personally. Hot water is a lot of extra expense for very few actual benefits. You can start with cold pressure and add a hot box later if you want.
Hot water is just not enough. Totally my opinion. Unless you use some chemical to soften the mold, it's just a lot... This also depends on what the tiles are settled on. I must say that it really looks beautiful on the outcome... My opinion about such a work is that an acidic product is putted before the final cleaning. That roof looks like it's been over 20 years since it was installed and never was cleaned. I really would like to see that it's exactly like you say 😮.
Great results - what trigger do you have on your pole and what do you call the pressure gauge / release value on your pressure washer - looking to get one of those -
Hi, I love watching your videos.I would also like to start a roof washing business in my country. may I ask where I can buy a telescopic pole for mos matic, the same set as you use?
All the details about the tool I’m using and the proper techniques are now in my training course: www.aemackintosh-onlinetraining.com/courses/pressure-washing-tools-and-techniques
It can be hard on your back, you don’t want to twist it, but it’s harder on your arms and shoulders I suppose. I’m not keen on using a turbo nozzle. This method is more gentle and the pressure balances the weight of the tool.
Hey Ashley, I'm considering starting up my own pure water fed pole window cleaning and I have a couple of questions. Whilst water fed pole cleaning does not require a squeegee or cloths for detailing, would you say it's necessary to use or can one use these for better detailing? I would really appreciate your feedback. Love the great work you do.
The whole idea is that the pure water dries without leaving any residue. If you start wiping thing’s before it dries you will introduce contamination that will leave spotting.
@@aemackintosh can you make a video of your sprinter van, cost for each equipment including all electrical works. Abd installation process with the large water tank and how you filter the water.
Hi Ashley, I'm in the process of cleaning a garage roof at the moment. When applying the biocide what shall I do about it running off into the Gutters? I heard you mention about detaching the downpipes, can you explain the process please 🙏 Also how does it work with using the pressure washer on the tiles and changing the pressure? Would really appreciate your help. Thanks for the great videos
If you detach the top of the down pipe at the gooseneck, that’s usually the easiest place to disconnect the gutter. You can adjust the pressure of your machine by twisting the unloader valve.👍🏼
It’s not as simple as that. You need the right pressure, litres per minute, accessory/tool, and fan jets. www.aemackintosh-onlinetraining.com/courses/pressure-washing-tools-and-techniques
@aemackintosh yes I'm aware of that I have everything and have been cleaning roofs with this system with great results, but just wondered was there a maximum pressure that keeps it safe for the tiles but still gives a good clean
Ah yes, in all the excitement it’s easy to miss these things. The suction and return hoses sit in the bin with the hose from the tap, then we close the lid to keep them in place and stop debris getting into the water. Rutland pumps do supply a kit with hose fittings and a float valve (a bit like what’s in your toilet) so the water will automatically shut off if it gets to the top. 👍🏼
Noooo! Hate those things! Dosatron systems just don’t work, the biocide is too think and it ends up just clogging up the Dosatron. Get yourself a good pump setup.👍🏼

Biocide! That's a fantastic name for an acid product. Make it look bio and it's basically an acid! Otherwise it wouldn't be there doing nothing!
Nice work Ash, best way to clean for me. What pressure are you running it at?
Using my 21litre per minute machine, I reduce the pressure down to about 2000psi.👍🏼
