Yes, "Turn On" is the worst, with "You're In The Picture" a close second. "You're In The Picture" was so bad after the first episode the host Jackie Gleason spent the whole second episode apologizing, which was far more entertaining than the original show itself.

The new golden age of television had already ended when this video was posted, with shows being cancelled before the storyline has ended, or without being given a chance to grow and become a great show/classic, and too many companies launching their own streaming services, making it expensive if you want to be able to watch and rewatch all your favorite shows. And it's getting worse, with streaming services now also starting to purge shows from their content.
There’s just too many shows. How do you pick? What do you watch? If it bores you, you quit after a few episodes. More isn’t always better🤷♀️. Which is what the big problem is, imo. Character arc? You have three episodes lol
A sitcom that lost its way. It was somewhat "retooled" in the second season, but CBS had already decided to "junk it" by placing the series opposite "THE A-TEAM" in the fall of 1984. They didn't even bother to telecast all 9 episodes produced for season two. They were going to "burn off" the last two on May 31, 1985.....but only ONE was telecast.
When you mentioned the Canadian "The Tom Green Show" I was ready to fight. Then I saw his picture and thought, "Oh I'm thinking of Red Green." Hell of a difference, I guess. I never watched any of these shows.
he is all over the place and never bothers to take into account the networks that some aired on: PBS and MTV have different standards for quality and their shows aren’t like other networks…
I loved The Red Green Show! You can still find it here on UA-cam. I never liked the Tom Green show at all. It was just too stupid. Zero talent. And also, anything with Pauley Shore in it was terrible.
It's an odd time to discover this video since we're in the middle of the writers & actors strike. About the only thing we can do now is watch old shows that we might have passed on when they debuted, even if they were terrible.
Somehow, "Velma", "Ren & Stimpy's Adult Cartoon Party" and "Turn On" escaped this list. "Turn On" was so bad, that ABC cancelled it after one episode, and the Cleveland, Ohio ABC affiliate was so conservative that it cancelled the first airing after fifteen minutes, and replace it with 40 minutes of a slide on the screen and a man playing the organ on the soundtrack!
The problem was, they took the totally wrong approach! What they should have done was continued The Golden Girls without Dorothy, maybe have her guest star occasionally. But to have them sell the house and run a hotel, at their age no less (particularly Sophia) was a bad move, not to mention having Rose and Miles split, and "killing off" Stan (even though he faked his death to avoid getting in trouble for tax evasion). I think it could have still worked as the Golden Girls without Dorothy - other shows have lost a main character and still continued for years (Two and a Half Men comes to mind).
#8 ~ Cancelled after only a season and a half. Not two. Fell had trepidations about the Spin-off. Wanted to stay on Three's Company. Was convinced by producers when they informed him that if the Spin-off got cancelled after one season or less, then they (Fell and his character's wife) would be able to return. With that promise put into the Spin-off show contract for both of them, they agreed. The producers sabotaged any hope of the Spin-off being successful, by later changing its time-slot. It was now competing with a hugely popular show on a rival network. Fell was outraged! Knew the Spin-off was destined for cancellation after that. He felt it was done intentionally. Might have actually been right! When it was cancelled, Fell and his co-star tried to return to Three's Company. Only to be told that their Spin-off show lasted over one season. So, the producers were under no legal obligation to bring them back. They were both out of a job. The spin-off wasn't that great. But it did have its funny moments. Fell's character and another male character already living in that neighborhood, didn't want the Ropers living in the new neighborhood. But their wives loved it there. So both men were stuck. But didn't realize they each wanted the same thing. Scheming took place to get the couple out of neighborhood, which never worked. It was never meant to be good. Just a way to get rid of Fell and his co-star from Three's company. And, to do so legally.
Tele Tubbies, and Boo Bah! Two shows that are so insipid, they insult the intelligence of two year olds! Q. What does Boo Bah say when he's hungry? A. Boo Bee!
I was going to mention that. :) Also the sequel to Laugh-In--it was cancelled before it's first episode finished airing. Can't recall the name right now. Edit: _Turn-On!_
I mentioned that too. That's definitely one show which shouldn't have even aired. I mean, who looked at that and said, "Hmm... a sitcom with Hitler as the main character... I like it!"
@@dx1450 Hey, we could've had _Borscht Boy_ , featuring Stalin running a diner. And every episode, his Ukrainian servers get skinnier and skinnier. Just as tasteful.
Remember, Three's Company and The Ropers were US remakes of UK show's (Man About The House and George and Mildred, not sure if you got a remake of the other spin-off Robin's Nest). US remakes of UK show's rarely succeed and Three's Company's success must have been down to the amazing, likeable and sorely missed John Ritter.
Much the same as many other UK shows remade in the US. I think many Americans don't get the British sarcastic or surreal humour. Also, British comedy so often relies on social comment that doesn't work when It's redone in America.
_Three's a Crowd_ was a short lived remake of _Robin's Nest._ Jack gets married and starts a restaurant. _All in the Family,_ _Sanford & Son,_ _The Office_ were all successful US adaptations of UK shows.
The Ropers is a remake of George and Mildred? I did not know that. I actually never heard of George and Mildred until about two years ago when someone asked me how was George. I didn’t know what they were talking about but then they later mentioned the show George and Mildred. I looked up the show and fell in love with it.
More objective criteria is deemed necessary. To qualify in this WORST list, the program must have survived only 1 SEASON OR LESS plus featuring one or two of these elements : 1. OVER EXPENSIVENESS 2. BIZARRENESS and/or 3. MORAL REPREHENSIBILITY.
There was a show that Jackie Gleason hosted, called something like “You’re In The Picture”, debuting in the early 60’s and lasted only one episode. In the same time slot the following week, Gleason himself appeared in that half hour slot a week later and for that entire half hour apologized to the fans, recognizing that the shoes stunk and shouldn’t have made it to air in the first place, and I’m surprised that you didn’t include it on your too ten list.
In the early 90's there was a show in Great Britain called "Heil Honey, I'm Home" which was a sitcom based on Hitler. That's right, that Hitler, which was cancelled after the first episode because, well, I'm sure you understand that a sitcom with Hitler as the main character is not a good idea.
Barney the Dinosaur was hugely successful and made some folks a lot of money I assume. These aren't the "worst" shows but rather shows you just don't like.
Barney was a huge cultural icon of the 90s and second only to Sesame Street in terms of money generated for PBS kids shows so it’s definitely a huge hit with preschoolers
Once had a short break in a holiday camp. Barney was part of the evening entertainment. Suggested to the camp staff that they could make a lot of money charging the parents £10 a go to shot Barney with a shotgun.
And any" Real Housewives', any 'Kardashians', any 'celebrity' game show, any show with Steve Harvey. And, of course EVERY show on 'TLC'-the trash network.
People seem to have forgotten that 'My Mother the Car' was based on a true story. The mother in question had been an opera diva who, resurrected as the car, duetted with the late Giorgio Tozzi in Puccini's Madame Butterfly. Unfortunately finding costumes for her became prohibitive. Like putting a geisha outfit on an Oldsmobile. So she retired to Montauk.
I remember seeing a clip of a young Bill Engvall doing a stand-up comedy bit about his daughter watching barney saying that's a show that will make you want to put the barrel of a shotgun in your mouth, and saying he believed that's why the dinosaurs went extinct they would have rather been dead than have to hang out with him💀🤣
I think I would put Baywatch on a separate list. Not a "so bad, it's good" list, but a "so bad, you can't look away" list. Like CHiPs. When I'm channel surfing and happen to land on one of their pursuits (40 mph on a near-empty L.A. freeway, where someone inevitably flips their car, all to a disco beat), or the bikini models/actresses in skin-tight CHP uniforms, I have to stop, just for the laughs.
Quantity is not quality. There may hundreds of shows or series, but the vast majority are mediocre at best. I'd swap it for the days when we had less choice, but the shows were of a much higher quality of scripts and actors.
Only ones I disagree with are Cowboy Bebop & Baywatch! My 10 Worst Tv Shows ever are 1-Keeping up with the Kardashins 2-Joey 3-Caillou 4-Joanie Loves Chachi 5-That 80's Show (enjoyed That 90's Show tho) 6-Saved by the Bell: The New Class (I did like the Peacock revival tho) 7-Secret Invasion (first MCU Project I disliked) 8-Teletubbies (I could deal with Barney more than Teletubbies lol) 9-Uncle Buck 10-Gotham Knights
_Turn On._ He was only the guest host though. Strange that derek saw an ad for it after SNL given that it was on ABC and its one and only episode aired 6ish years before SNL's first year.
@@aspenrebel CPO Sharkey. Rickles was better as a stand-up comic. Back when Frank Sinatra had some bad press for getting into altercations with a few people, Rickles was doing a show (in Vegas?) when he saw Sinatra walk in. Rickles says to the audience (something like), "Hey, everybody, Frank Sinatra just entered the room! Hi, Frank, how ya doin'? Make yourself at home. Hit somebody!"
Mickey didn't think that a TV show with a "loveable" bigot wouldn't make it past the censors. "Norman, if you go on with this project, they'll shoot you in the streets!" he interjected at creator Norman Lear after turning down the role. Mickey also didn't like the fact that Archie the bigot was an Irish-American, which Mickey himself was.
Not gonna lie - I actually enjoyed Baywatch! It was a fun show, felt like hanging out at the beach for an hour every weekend. One really horrible show that wasn't mentioned was Alien in the Family. It didn't even last a season, and I only watched the first episode, which was bad enough!
Baywatch was actually pretty realistic. Almost every character in that show behaved the way real lifeguards that I met in person did. Sorry, pal. Saying Baywatch is bad by any means is a strike on you. The acting, based on my experience, was spot on. You said to be honest. So, I am. 😄
The British sitcom "Man About The House" (1973-1976) had a very successful spin off series "George & Mildred" (1976-1979). The American version of Man About The House was Three's Company (1977-1984) and had an unsuccessful spin off "The Ropers" (1979-1980). Incidentally, George & Mildred's surname was Roper and the sitcom ended following the sad death of Yootha Joyce, who played Mildred Roper.
In "My Mother the Car" the "1928 Porter" as every classic car enthusiast knows was actually a disguised 1927 Model T Ford. The show was so awful that I'm sure the executives at The Ford Motor Company breathed a sigh of relief.
@@AEMoreira81You'd think that UPN would know better than the other networks. There was a channel once upon a time called AZN...UPN greenlighting that should would be like AZN showing Breakfast At Tiffany's.

"Cop Rock" (Never saw it.) 1. "Mind of Mencia" (Who?)
Had things been different, Priscilla Barnes would have been the star of "SUDDENLY SHERIFF", as the series was announced in the trades in the spring of 1987. But Suzanne Somers suddenly became the new lead (probably because she was a more "bankable" name to local stations than Priscilla was)- and it was syndicated as "SHE'S THE SHERIFF" in 1987....and it lasted two seasons.
Barney also really tramatized some kids too. I heard about a parent who took his toddler to see Jurassic Park talking the child into seeing "Barney". Needless to say, the kid screamed throughout the movie!!
Funny, but when I went to see the original JP, a 6 year old kid with his mother and young sister was laughing hysterically and said 'look mom, it`s Barney!' when the 'raptor opened up the kitchen door ( if I remember it correctly) by the handle.
Two worst shows ever for me: 1: Hyperdrive. BBC science fiction sitcom from around 200 with Nick Frost as the incompetent commander of spaceship SS Camden Lock. Every character was incompetent. Which was supposed to be funny. It started making jokes about alien genitals. After ten mins of the first episode. Which was a clear sign of desperation. I gave up after fifteen. 2: The Outpost. Sci fi channel fantasy series. Had the budget and look of Hercules and Xena. But those had smart writing and good acting. This had bad writing and bad acting. Right from early on in the first scene I was thinking 'umm...this isn't very good.' Sixteen mins in lead character is rescued from a monster during the night by knights on horseback. This filmed on location. Then they talk in such extreme close up it was clearly studio bound and both actors weren't in the shot at the same time. I gave up. After twenty mins.
Speaking of bad scifi, there was a Gene Roddenberry thing called Earh Final Conflict. It started off good but never went anywhere and just kept doing the same thing over & over. Well, they actually did something different in the last season, but that was hated more. Anyway, I caught 1 episode of BSG and I wasn't impressed by the show.
Oh yeah, one more I forgot: We Got It Made, starring Teri Copley. It's basically Three's Company in reverse; these two guys have an apartment but need another roommate to help pay the rent, so they advertise in the newspaper and, lo and behold, this super hot blonde applies. They say okay, but in order not to piss off their girlfriends, she has to say she's their maid. Oh, the hilarity...you can guess what happens: she doesn't know the first thing about how to keep a house, and she spends a lot of time "accidentally" sticking her butt and breasts in their faces and just being a ditzy blonde. This show, like the others in my previous comment, are miles worse than any of the shows on this guy's list.
Fred Silverman's production company origially produced it for NBC in the 1983-'84 season.....then it was revived for first-run syndication {with several slight changes in the cast} in the 1987--88 season.
"THE TROUBLE WITH TRACY" actually adapted scripts from Goodman & Jane Ace's radio shows, "EASY ACES" and "mr. ace and JANE". 130 episodes were produced- and rather quickly and cheaply- and originally seen on the CTV network in Canada before it was syndicated in the U.S.
ROB - the sitcom starring Rob Schneider was awful, Awful, AWFUL. CBS was gonna try and renew it for a 2nd season. Thankfully they changed their mind at the last minute.
That was incredibly awful, but it wasn't the worst show aired on the then-UPN TV network. They had a show called The Secret Diary of Desmond Pfeiffer which a sitcom starring Chi McBride as the White House butler to President Abraham Lincoln. Of course Desmond Pfeiffer was the straight man to a skirt chasing Abraham Lincoln while Mary Todd Lincoln was portrayed as a nagging crazy wife, and the rest of his cabinet members were either buffoons or racist or both. It only aired about four episodes before it was pulled from the schedule and canceled.
"Dusty's Trail" back in the early 70's. It starred Bob Denver from "Gilligan's Island" who played 'Dusty'. It's the story of a wagon headed to California that gets separated from the wagon train and now they're lost in the wild. "Gilligan's Island" in the old west....
Wiki: “Keep On Truckin' is an American comedy/variety series that aired on American Broadcasting Company from July 12, 1975 to August 2, 1975. Where's Two Broke Girls, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, 13 Reasons Why..., LAME of Thrones, And Just Like That, Walker Texas Ranger (the new one)?
I remember a mid-1970s show called "The Big Event." It featured red-carpet interviews with celebrities attending big events. This was back when everybody was clamoring for Hollywood hootzpah on TV. One thing that demonstrated how bad it was was when the host who was trying to interview people admitted he didn't even know who some of them were.
You wanna see bad TV? Try some of these shows: Madame's Place Enos (the Dukes of Hazzard spinoff) Supertrain (Love Boat meets Hotel, but it takes place on a high speed coast-to-coast train) Hello Larry (one of the lowest rated shows of all time) Rango (Tim Conway as a bumbling Texas Ranger in the old west) Small Wonder (Punky Brewster ripoff, but instead of a little girl it's a little girl ROBOT) Thunder in Paradise (Baywatch meets Knight Rider, except with a boat instead of a car, and starring Hulk Hogan) Watch some of these shows, and then we'll talk about bad TV shows, my friend...
Baywatch wasn’t the most polished show out there by any imagination but once they tried to an even worse spin-off of it? Yeah. THAT was even worse than Baywatch itself.

Three of the most popular shows on TV? I disliked them, too, but everyone else seemed to love them. I disliked them because I found the characters annoying. Particularly Seinfeld : Jerry was the most annoying, followed by Kramer. When the main character makes you want to hurl stuff at the TV two minutes in, you never watch it again.
Friends for sure. I haven't seen Big Bang Theory other than tiny snippets here and there, I don't know enough about it to have a strong opinion. But growing up my grandpa liked to watch tv during dinner (all night really), and he went through a phase where he loved Friends and I couldn't stand it. It's a dumb show about dumb people. I liked his Frasier phase more, Frasier was so much better. Until Niles and Daphne hooked up, anyway. At least he had an undying love for the Simpsons so that was consistently on, two back to back episodes every night usually just as we were sitting down to dinner, no matter how many times repeat episodes came on, and I loved The Simpsons. You missed Canada' s The Trouble With Tracy ( CTV 1970-1971 Weekdays 130 episodes)The economic and time pressures of producing 130 episodes in a single season (seven shows were filmed every five days) meant cheap, wobbly sets, no outdoor filming, a laugh track instead of a live studio audience, the use of single takes, the reuse of 25-year-old radio scripts, and other shortcuts that resulted in a poor-quality show. Even flubbed lines and bloopers sometimes ended up airing, because the show could not afford retakes.
Huh. I was expecting “Heil Honey, I’m Home!“ to get the top spot. After all, it has been criticized as “the world’s most tasteless situational comedy” (which I’d say is very accurate) and was immediately cancelled right after its pilot episode aired, with a lot of people hating it for trivializing WW2 and making light of one of the most despised men in history. Another contender I expected was The Fred Show. Not only is the whole premise utterly brain-dead, but Fred is quite easily among the most annoying, exasperating, and headache-inducing characters ever to exist. He’s like Tom Green but younger, louder, shriller, and aimed at kids. This show is actually worse than The High Fructose Adventures of The Annoying Orange, which is truly astonishing. Though I will say, *THANK YOU* for calling out Barney and Friends! I had to put up with this stupid show for years because it was my sister’s favorite as a kid, and my aunt worked at PBS so she was able to feed her addiction with VHS tapes of the show and various Barney specials (I still sometimes remember the musical numbers from these things out of the blue, especially from the predecessor show, Barney & The Backyard Gang; it’s like random traumatic flashbacks that just hit out of nowhere, and don’t go away until I distract myself with more powerful earworms), merchandise, and tickets to his occasional live shows until she finally, *finally* grew out of it.
How can anyone claim to compile a list of the worst television shows without including _The Kallikaks_ , _The Montefuscos_ , _Fraser_ , _Seinfeld_ , _Roseanne_ , _The Flying Nun_ , _Jennifer Slept Here_ , _Hello Larry_ , _After Mash , _Fish....._

Exactly. Plus we just got the Barney Documentary from last year called I Love You, You Hate Me that showed how people took the hatred of Barney way to far.
Wow! That brings back an old name from the late eighties, early nineties. Andy was an absolute horrible comedian that appealed to teenagers. Thankfully, his show didn't last too long...
@@marcstevens8576 That's why Andrew's sitcom failed. The network tried to make Andrew's character less like his offensive "Dice" persona, and more like a loveable bigot like Archie Bunker and Al Bundy with a loving family. Even Andrew said the premise didn't fit well with his concert audience. Back in 1972, ABC/Screen Gems TV tried to make Paul Lynde a loveable bigot like Archie and Al with a loving family called "Temperature's Rising." By the time the show originally aired, a lot of Paul's viewers already knew that he was a closeted gay man, and found the show as honest as a $3 dollar bill. As a result, the sitcom failed miserably after one season. Changing the title of the show to "The Paul Lynde Show" midway through the season didn't help matters either.
When I was a little kid back in the sixties, my whole family watched "My Mother the Car". We liked it. Had a great theme song. I never thought Tom Green was funny. Ever.
There’s too many to be listed! Barney doesn’t belong because it’s a kids show but if you wanna go there anything made by Kroft like HR PUFFIN STUFF LAND OF THE LOST etc, you can include.
What is with all the hate for Barney?? My daughter absolutely loved this show, it taught good lessons, didn't talk down to kids, and told coherent stories in each episode. There are literally hundreds of worse shows to pick from...
Barney was awful. When we flipped past the PBS channel and my children saw it, I told them the channel was broken. There was no way I was going to expose them to that drivel.
For this list, start by sticking every soap opera in history in a tie for 1st Place. Then 2nd Place goes to all those house hunting and home renovation shows nobody watches.
Some soaps were decent. But to be honest, they aren't produced with the same standard as regular shows. They are just cheap packages thrown together for home makers to have easy to follow entertainment. It doesn't require thought or much following, which is perfect people running around the house or if they have emergencies.
Barney shouldn't be on this list. Unless you were a toddler at that time, you can't comprehend the appeal it had to young children. They loved him, and that's what mattered.
Agree with My Mother The Car & Barney, however, there were far worse. To name a few, there were Teletubbies, Joanie Loves Chachi, Gloria, Flo, Enos & worst of all was ALF. Don't know why Designing Women ended up being despised. Still love that show.

Liberals, Woke Mob, and B.L.M.
There’s just too many shows. How do you pick? What do you watch? If it bores you, you quit after a few episodes. More isn’t always better🤷♀️. Which is what the big problem is, imo. Character arc? You have three episodes lol
I think "Hello Larry" should have been on the list.
it actually lasted slightly longer than mclean stevenson's other post-mash shows ['the mclean stevenson show,' 'in the beginning,' 'condo']
Oh yeah.
How about "After MASH"?
A sitcom that lost its way. It was somewhat "retooled" in the second season, but CBS had already decided to "junk it" by placing the series opposite "THE A-TEAM" in the fall of 1984. They didn't even bother to telecast all 9 episodes produced for season two. They were going to "burn off" the last two on May 31, 1985.....but only ONE was telecast.
@@Blaqjaqshellaq I remember Condo. It was a midseason replacement show.
When you mentioned the Canadian "The Tom Green Show" I was ready to fight. Then I saw his picture and thought, "Oh I'm thinking of Red Green." Hell of a difference, I guess. I never watched any of these shows.
Me also
Yeah, the Red Green Show was a classic! In the good sense.
Yep, never even heard of Tom Green. Love Red Green.😄
he is all over the place and never bothers to take into account the networks that some aired on: PBS and MTV have different standards for quality and their shows aren’t like other networks…
I loved The Red Green Show! You can still find it here on UA-cam. I never liked the Tom Green show at all. It was just too stupid. Zero talent. And also, anything with Pauley Shore in it was terrible.
During the 90"s I repaired VCRs,so I loved Barney
He kept me employed.😋😋😋
It's an odd time to discover this video since we're in the middle of the writers & actors strike. About the only thing we can do now is watch old shows that we might have passed on when they debuted, even if they were terrible.
You had Cop Rock in the #2 slot which was my pick for the worst. Some other terrible shows were "Man From Atlantis", "Manimal" and "Teletubbies",
Supertrain?
Yeah Atlantis and Manimal were bad.
Teletubbies was one the few shows that actually insulted the intelligence of toddlers.
@@josepherhardt164It wasn't for toddlers it was for babies. It was just to help them due to color stimulation.
Cop Rock was the worst. Cops are totally worthless in the first place, no use trying to make them into something else.
Golden Palace immediately comes to mind. Golden Girls could not continue without the one-and-only Bea Arthur.
People didn’t want the Golden Girls to go. I was one of them, though I didn’t see Golden Palace. One of the best shows.
Bea Arthur was the glue that held the Golden Girls together.
I watched the entire "Golden Palace" series on UA-cam. It wasn't bad. As for Bea Arthur... did you ever see "Amanda?" Just awful.
@@mysticwolf75 I hear you, but that’s like saying the Beatles should have continued after John was gone
Thank you for not using the same old bad shows as all the other channels do. Some of these I've never heard of 😊 great video!
BETRAYED by Hollywood!
That’s a shame, Norman Fell was hilarious!
I was pretty young when that show aired and only vaguely remember it.
producers don’t change time slots, networks do…and his replacement was better than him which made it worse!

Threes Company was not a classic.
The Ropers is a remake of George and Mildred? I did not know that. I actually never heard of George and Mildred until about two years ago when someone asked me how was George. I didn’t know what they were talking about but then they later mentioned the show George and Mildred. I looked up the show and fell in love with it.
Sanford and Son was very successful and it was based on the British TV show Steptoe and son
More objective criteria is deemed necessary.
To qualify in this WORST list, the program must have survived only 1 SEASON OR LESS plus featuring one or two of these elements :
1. OVER EXPENSIVENESS
2. BIZARRENESS and/or
Yes... I was just thinking of that one too. Gleason was really embarrassed by that 1 show.
I watched The Ropers and Baywatch I loved both shows. I never even watched Barney and hated it
In the early 90's there was a show in Great Britain called "Heil Honey, I'm Home" which was a sitcom based on Hitler. That's right, that Hitler, which was cancelled after the first episode because, well, I'm sure you understand that a sitcom with Hitler as the main character is not a good idea.
@@dx1450 Actually it wasn't bad.
I love you, you love me. Let's put Barney in a tree.😀
While Barney is annoying to the parents, you got to admit that he is a good role model for preschoolers.
Once had a short break in a holiday camp. Barney was part of the evening entertainment. Suggested to the camp staff that they could make a lot of money charging the parents £10 a go to shot Barney with a shotgun.

CHiPs was guilty-pleasure watching tv. 😉🙂
I always thought that was a reality cop show.
Quantity is not quality. There may hundreds of shows or series, but the vast majority are mediocre at best. I'd swap it for the days when we had less choice, but the shows were of a much higher quality of scripts and actors.
I’m thinking that producers prefer the mindless drivel that appeals to the masses because they make more money.
Only ones I disagree with are Cowboy Bebop & Baywatch!

Jeffery Tambor killed The Ropers. He's killed every show he's ever been on.

This list is completely invalidated by leaving out She-Hulk.
Archie Bunker’s Place Should Have Been On This List!

I think people expected an “All in the Family” vibe, but it was a different kind of a show. Good talent too, had the guy from Psycho in it.
Archie Bunker's Place was just fine.
I never let my kids watch Barney and Friends. To me, it felt like that TV show was insulting my children's intelligence.
Apple Pie. Painful. Only lasted 2 episodes, and even that was too long. It's a miracle Rue McClanahan ever worked again

You missed She's The Sheriff now that show was bad.
I like liked the show
Barney also really tramatized some kids too. I heard about a parent who took his toddler to see Jurassic Park talking the child into seeing "Barney". Needless to say, the kid screamed throughout the movie!!
Like some girls were with the Beetles??
Funny, but when I went to see the original JP, a 6 year old kid with his mother and young sister was laughing hysterically and said 'look mom, it`s Barney!' when the 'raptor opened up the kitchen door ( if I remember it correctly) by the handle.
Baywatch had a plot?
No. Any plot was forbidden for that show.
Where?
"The beauty of the show is the running. They should never stop running". - Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) "Friends".
'Babewatch'!
The plot was CJ's rack...
Two worst shows ever for me:
1: Hyperdrive.
Xena was grear!!
Because it didn't take itself seriously.
If Battlestar Galactica 1980 isn't on this list, your list is bs.
"We Got It Made" kept coming back--I thought it was over, and then there'd be new episodes again. Like a weed that won't die.
Fred Silverman's production company origially produced it for NBC in the 1983-'84 season.....then it was revived for first-run syndication {with several slight changes in the cast} in the 1987--88 season.
There was a sitcom called The Trouble with Tracy. Watch a clip from that show and you'll be begging to watch any of the shows on this list.
If you saw pilot of "The Munsters", you'd say "worst ever". But then they made major changes, and it was a classic. Lily was actually a built babe.
Tom Green is a comedic genius. You either get him, or you don't.
and he was huge for three or four years, his health and marriage killed things for him then critics brigaded his career
Most don't. Green also made perhaps the worst movie as well.
Thank you for including Cop Rock. When talking about my all time top worst TV shows this one usually runs into a tie with Manimal.
ROB - the sitcom starring Rob Schneider was awful, Awful, AWFUL. CBS was gonna try and renew it for a 2nd season. Thankfully they changed their mind at the last minute.
How is Homeboys in Outer Space not on this list???!!!! 😯
Maybe it was so horrible no one remembered it. It was the precursor to soul plane

When she was very preachy. I don't know if she was a nun in the show or what? But I think the actress in real life is very religious.

Highway To Heaven and
Touched By An Angel were
popular hit TV shows.
"ALEXANDER THE GREAT" was an unsold 1964 ABC pilot film, later presented on "OFF TO SEE THE WIZARD" {January 26, 1968}.
Why did they have to film so many episodes in such short a time?
What was the hurry?
@@dhenderson1810 It was a 5 day a week series in the afternoon so they needed something cheap and fast to fill the timeslot
Surely you jest.
I would add 2 1\2 men. The kid was an imbecile, his dad wad a wuss, Charlie Sheen was the only likable character
You can't put Barney on this list...parents hated it, but it was for kids and they loved it, beside Teletubbies was worse (thank God my daughter blew through that stage quickly).
Exactly. Plus we just got the Barney Documentary from last year called I Love You, You Hate Me that showed how people took the hatred of Barney way to far.
no Andrew Dice Clay? can't be worst of all time list.
Velma, My Big Fat Fabulous Life and High Guardian Spices should've been on this list
I remember in the 80s we had Charlie and Co.,which was a rip off of The Cosby Show. It stared Flip Wilson. It didn't last. It was awful.
Flip himself admitted his series was an attempt to compete with Cosby. CBS wanted their own "COSBY SHOW"- and didn't get it.
No, "Electro Woman And Dyna Girl" was awesome.
Then we would also need separate lists for kids shows? 😂
The Ropers, but no Three’s A Crowd? That show was a hot steaming pile of frozen acting.
And where’s Jerry Springer????
What is with all the hate for Barney?? My daughter absolutely loved this show, it taught good lessons, didn't talk down to kids, and told coherent stories in each episode. There are literally hundreds of worse shows to pick from...
So much love for Barney ❤️❤️❤️
Barney was awful. When we flipped past the PBS channel and my children saw it, I told them the channel was broken. There was no way I was going to expose them to that drivel.
Yeah, shows right off that this was just clickbait. And we fell for it. 😞
So my understanding is that the guy who wore the purple Dino suit was a child mol3ster.
Constant viewing and repetition was enough to make you stick a gun barrel in your mouth.
For this list, start by sticking every soap opera in history in a tie for 1st Place. Then 2nd Place goes to all those house hunting and home renovation shows nobody watches.
What about reality TV shows? Just as bad if not worse.
Some soaps were decent.
But to be honest, they aren't produced with the same standard as regular shows. They are just cheap packages thrown together for home makers to have easy to follow entertainment. It doesn't require thought or much following, which is perfect people running around the house or if they have emergencies.
How is “Heil Honey I'm Home!” Not even on the list?!?! Just the concept alone puts this at #1 on any list ever!!
Probably because it was on obscure British show on an obscure British TV channel.
Barney shouldn't be on this list. Unless you were a toddler at that time, you can't comprehend the appeal it had to young children. They loved him, and that's what mattered.
Exactly. Plus we just got the Barney Documentary from last year called I Love You, You Hate Me where people took their hatred of Barney WAY TO FAR.
Agree with My Mother The Car & Barney, however, there were far worse. To name a few, there were Teletubbies, Joanie Loves Chachi, Gloria, Flo, Enos & worst of all was ALF. Don't know why Designing Women ended up being despised. Still love that show.
Gloria wasn't a bad show - I liked it. It was her coming out from her background, from her family and her meathead husband
Didn't know about that show with Shatner. Seems to have issues with Hasselhoff
Thot The Ropers were hilarious.
Norman Fell had all the zingers. CB
When I saw the title of your video "My Mother The Car" was the first that came to my mind.
