Who else been with Ballen since the days when he posted 5 times a week and before the secrets. Back when he had like 30K. Never seen anyone blow up so fast.
Seeing how the place is already called Headless Valley, I think other parts should have equally fitting names, such as Stay Away Cliffs, Turn Back Now Pass and Seriously Don't Keep Going We Are Not F*cking Kidding Bend...
So that one guy built his own wooden cabin, decided to live there alone for the whole winter surviving by his own means while prospecting for gold. People at the beginning of the 20th century were built different.
@Chandler Burse entirely untrue me and my brother bought about 500 Acres out in West Virginia strictly for hunting purposes because it's mountainous and not Farmland so it was cheap him and I both have spent Winters out there and there are no structures so we've had to build our own cabins you can do anything you want as long as you're not lazy people are capable of doing anything and everything they're still doing it all over the world so saying people aren't capable of it just shows you that you're not aware of the rest of the world outside of the first world country you live in
Man listening to all these wilderness horror stories makes me NEVER want to camp out anymore 😂 I get soooo shook hearing these stories! But tbh that all started for me when I actually did go camping one night, and something was nudging against my tent 😬 ever since, I havent went back
Between Mr Ballen & Kyle Hates Hiking, I’m beginning to think my solo backpacking & hiking trips were ill-advised. I feel a little like just my survival was…miraculous. The worst that ever happened was my (disappointingly old, ratty) bras & underwear were stolen by a bunch of Boy Scouts camping nearby and strewn on branches around a creek bed. 🙄
Or they know that you can't take them on...in my mind...modern day, modern weapons...I think a party of 100 people armed with high powered semi-automatic weapons might be able to tame the headless valley...I mean in my mind anyway...but at the same time...that is some bad shit going on in that place..
I don't know if the police are protecting something in the valley so much as protecting themselves! The police probably didn't want to spend any more time in that valley than they absolutely had to and they definitely didn't want to spend the night out there if they could help it. So I kind of understand why they claim none of the deaths are connected and they are all just natural cause deaths. Because if that wasn't the case they would have a duty to go out there and stay and figure out what's going on and none of them wanted to do that. I don't even feel bad for those gold miners who CHOSE to go into headless valley after the original 3 deaths. Come on. There have been like a dozen mysterious deaths most of them involving decapitation and the name of the place is f**king HEADLESS VALLEY. I don't even feel bad for you if you CHOOSE to go out there. I honestly believe it was probably another Gold Miner/s who wanted to keep all of the gold in the area for themselves and so just started ambushing and killing anyone who was in the area. They probably figured if they killed enough people it would deter others from coming out there. It's also possible the native Americans didn't take kindly to randos showing up in their area using up their resources (wild animals for food chopping down trees etc) and taking their gold off their land. Either way it's probably safe now. I'm more interested in the caves along that area though. I really wish some brave cavers would go out there and explore the caves and film them so we can see what's in them.
@@WhitneyDahlin yup that is when they find the skulls and naked pale humanoids skittering in the dark during a live feed...but I agree with most of what you said...in the day natives would decapitate people, also it is kinda strange that natives warned a search party about "the pale people" I just believe alot more is in this world or just outside our reality...it is crazy though about the woman in 1926...then the fella that said he saw a naked woman on all fours that looked not quite right...you never know..

Kind of a coincidence that the one group of people were approached by a tribe, warning them of danger, and then that night they hear screams and howls….
I dont think they keep the gold I think they just put it back into the land. I believe they simply dont want ppl taking gold from their land…Its not money to them its part of their home.
after watching this i did a bit of research, turns out people still die in the headless valley as recently as 2008 there have been missing person investigations in the nahanni valley, and upwards of 50 people in total have died or completely disappeared in the nahanni valley and never been found i think its time for your followup video mrballen :D
Natives killing people off to discourage others from coming back, it is pretty simple really. There is no ''pale cryptids'' its just natives telling spooky stories while they are the ones doing the killings.

The explanation for the decapitations by the authorities made my eyes roll. I live in a rural area and have seen dead animals decomposing and their parts being taken away to be eaten by other animals. I've never seen a head ripped off a large animal except by humans.
Yes i find dead deer and those spinal cords are always last to go and they are on good hard to believe animals did that to a skull where meat is harder to bit too
Sounds like the natives don’t want their beautiful mountains strip mined and turned into rubble with cyanide streams. The gold is not worth destroying the environment. The warning, followed by the common howling used by native to communicate just seals the story for me. Especially knowing what was done to the original 250 million natives in North America. I can’t blame them
I'm only a quarter native, but my father taught me and my siblings to never whistle at night. When we used to ask why? He'd say; "you never know what's out in the darkness." which made sense since we lived by a heavily wooded area.
This is my favorite video from MrBallen studios because it's the one that gets people on board with MrBallen, this guy needs UA-cam's biggest award to me.
@Jerry Brony Some people swear in front of friends & colleagues, but when talking to new people they can be as polite as anything!! Of course, there are people that just don't swear, or leave swearing for the worst moments in their lives! I'm one of the former, if you're wondering. 😀
In Canadian history all we learned about was how there were tons of gold that's untouched in the far north. If my history teacher told stories like this, I would've paid a lot more attention!
@@icantthinkofaname15 I don't know why, but you'll have to search "Annie" instead of "Anne" to actually get some decent results, but you won't find a video on just her, as her story is just a part of the mysterious deaths and disappearances of The Headless Valley
I'm a native from the Northwest Territories and we grew up knowing not to mess around in the wild. Taught to be very quiet and to never be alone. The Annie Lafferty falls with the stories we've been told about being possessed. It's nothing new in the north, there's a lot of chilling stories
Take some liberties and have like one crazy hermit that lives there just outside the valley, they are the only person who lives in the valley at all, and the hermit gives the people going in an ominous warning that they ignore because obviously the crazy hermit is crazy. At the end of the movie when the last guy is running from whatever it is, they run to the hermit's home and hammer the door, the hermit doesn't even open it, you just hear their voice from the other side say something like "The valley doesn't like visitors" right before the last guy is pulled into the forest by some unseen force, you hear a scream, and the movie ends.
Not like me, I was born a ghoul 😂 at age 7+ I used to watch old hammer horrors with my dad 🤗 I *loved* it, I've always loved the strange, dark and mysterious
This is by far the spookiest and interesting story of this channel. This would make the hell of a movie but then again why would you need a movie when this guy is doing so much better than that.
This story was most likely a gold prospector or prospectors, creating a spook story and actually murdering other possible gold prospectors in order to keep them away and keeping the area to themselves to gold hunt. Burning their cabins, taking their gold. And when other people started with haunting stories, it lined up perfectly in their favor. It could have even been local government/law enforcement in on it. Striking a deal to take a portion while the area was kept clear for one group to mine.
Been uploading for a year and has almost 4 million subs, it’s crazy but definitely shows people have a fascination with the weird strange and mysterious
Anyone else think the cops in that area are trying to cover something up? They just seem like they’re giving generic answers to really strange situations
That’s what I was thinking this whole video. I felt like the police were either too fucking stupid or they were trying to cover something up. They always say “animals” would take the head, but only the heads? You’re telling me a wild animal is gonna come across a whole meal and just eat the head and only the head? There’s no way they didn’t know something was going on. It’s pretty astonishing how quickly they came to their conclusions and brushed everything else off.
Agreed. No predator would take a skull. A predator would eat the body or drag it back to its den for the babies. Either way, no trophies. That requires Human intelligence.
I’ve seen most of the predator movies and can tell you, unequivocally, that the heads/spinal column are the only things they take. It’s funny you brought up the trophies because that’s what they are. Holy poop Batman……we just solved it! Nahanni valley is a Yautja training ground!!!
I believe gesturing with our hands makes us feel mor immersed in the story whether we are telling is or listening to it. I wonder if he was told not to move his hands while telling a story if we could hear a difference in the way he talks
Since we’re in a more modern era It’d be really fascinating to set up a live stream of the valley to see what happens without putting people at risk, maybe even set up a dummy to lure an animal 🤷🏽♀️
There's very supernatural things going on in our world! Things that were like toys to! They play with us! Probably a dragon or something! Something thats waiting to be set free!

Technically there is a movie based on a book thats based on a theory about the culprit behind the decapitations. It's called the 13th warrior and it isn't the same kind of story but the main point of that there is a group of people in a plot of land that attack tresspassors by burning down their buildings and defile the corpses by decapitating them. Good movie but the book it's based on is incredible. However one thing to note about it, is that it's a viking movie so don't be surprised when they don't just shoot the guys or get mad when they mistake their presence as something supernatural because thats how people thought back then.

@@brandynkoogler4500 Ever think that they were the killers and were hoarding all the gold to themselves, and started calling the place Headless Valley to keep gold hunters out??? That would explain no investigations into the deaths.

Dont know about it being supernatural, but I dont think greed is the cause. The only people who could be suspected and benefited from that are the locals and no one in the town is known for their wealth or anything. If they are, they would stick out like a sore thumb. The gold was there and always be there. Finding them is not that hard if someone there wants them. Why do you wait for the chance of someone else to come and kill them afterwards for it.. getting them by your self is better even if you lack the skill in the long run. So yah. Its not about the gold, its about sending a message..
@@RhazOfRheos Unless another prospector found the area first and kept it quiet so there’d not be a gold rush. They could’ve killed anyone they found prospecting in “their” territory. Could be, like the first crew, from somewhere else, so they’d not be known in the area for their wealth. Your idea about “sending a message,” possibly by Native Americans, could also be true though; either seems likely to me.
I absolutely agree with you… obviously the 2 brothers faked their deaths, because they made the mistake of telling people about the gold there. Then all three got the local Indians to burn the cabins and kill any prospector who was brave enough to look past their story of the valley being haunted. The local Indians were able to keep the land clean and free of Gold miners and the destruction, moral decay and Settlers that came with it. And the brothers become extremely wealthy.

The woman running up the mountainside on all fours sounds eerily similar to stories about skin walkers I've heard. Many indigenous tribes believe these creatures / spirits or something similar exists, and people tend to avoid specific areas where they're spotted. According to folklore, these creatures lure prey out into the forest by mimicking cries they've heard before (such as a person yelling for help). When they kill something, they can take its form / wear its skin to disguise themselves. However, there's always something not quite right about it. People have told stories of mangled deer getting up on two legs and running away, strange hunched over wolf man creatures, and even strange looking and acting domestic animals such as dogs or cattle (often with human like eyes). The naked woman running on all fours totally fits in with the stories. Especially considering something felt off about her and the guy who saw her was afraid of what would happen if she found him.
@@goodguyswearblack1338 what's very disturbing is the fact that only american's have folklore about skin walker/wendigo in the world and only american have stories of them being spotted. @@Smallestpenis Not everyone finds jump scares fun or entertaining. Some, like myself, just get pissed off when they see them and lose interest in whatever they're watching. There was a video he actually shown a supposedly cursed image without context and people gave him backlash for it. I think that’s why. It’s good though. Not all people want jumpscare or walk into things like that, they just want the eerie story thrills
Tbh its probably the native tribe. They can easily find and use the gold themselves and don't want outsiders using it so killed people to scare them off. Remember other native tribes have vanished in this valley probably killed by the original tribe.
People find burnt down cabins and dead headless burnt bodies. Cops : Ya you gota look out for the animals around here especially the squirrels, they use fire.
RCMP are notorious in Canada for being useless and lazy. Seriously, there is a clip of one who is so fat and lazy he runs over a drunk First Nations man because he can't be bothered to leave his SUV due to snow on the ground. The man's crime? being drunk and First Nations.
So in a separate video, a YT channel had a kid go out into the valley for a hike, he talk alot about the NAHA, and in the comments a comment stuck out, "I'm naha and I've heard my whole life to never step foot in their, the tribe won't most tribes won't, and he recommended nobody else goes." But the hiker was fine. Just a weird vibe and u could feel it thru the video. It's an oddly beutifuly and eerie place to see filmed.

This just in, a 15th gold prospector was found headless and burned. His body was found inside of a pentagram drawn in blood with a message scrawled in the dirt "Trespassers will die!". Police suspect local wildlife are to blame.

Seems pretty obvious most (any?) of these weird deaths were not the result of animal predation. Birds and insects will make a meal of a human head, but not carry on off. Larger predators (bear, cougar, &c') will make a meal of a human torso and limbs, and maybe carry all or some of it off, but won't bother with a head. I'm thinking something close to cryptid, maybe a super-primitive human group, or even a genetically devolved subhuman group, living deep in the woods or in the cliff caves... they'd be more the type to leave the bodies and carry away the heads as trophies...
@@icantthinkofaname15 well my opinion, i believe there was some sort of spirit out there, that didn’t like the fact that humans are coming and taking this natural gold that belongs to the land. either a spirit or maybe some sort of tribe? but the spirit makes more sense knowing about Annie.

The story about the nked woman running up the cliff is by far the most disturbing. Reminds me of the indian tales of the wendigo. A spirit that will come to your camp or fire, and stand there waiting. If you acknoledge it, it will possess you and send you madly running into the woods. A demon of wanderlust.
This is probably one of the most unsettling places I’ve ever heard of, the second canyon with all those holes in the cliffs, the supposed “white figures”, and the river that’s thousands of feet deep. Creepy stuff man
Bruh like what wild animals just take the head .Also they found the head intact which to me means that animals didn't do it because after eating the fleshy parts of the head they would try to get to the brain for it's very nutritious to the animal. (That's what I think animals would do if they head just yourhead) plus animal's would most definitely go after your legs, your arms, or your chest frist snice most organ meat is very nutritious. Also why just the head and go through all that effort when the rest of the boats right their. This is why I agree It's a tribe that's very aggressive and territorial.
The most terrifying thing in this entire video was the woman climbing up the cliff, naked, on all 4s. I’ve heard that same story so many times and the only thing that changes from time to time, is the fact that the man said he thought it was the Devil himself running up that hill. It’s ironic that he described this white entity, and then a tribe appeared sometime later saying you don’t want the white demons to see you. That’s just horrifying. I have a theory that maybe a tribe resides there, hiding in the caves, killing off trespassers before retreating into the caves and the deep woods. It’s a scary looking place and I don’t think it’s even being visited as of today.
Ya beat me to it…. That’s all I would’ve needed to see. The missing heads is left up to imagination on what happened but to see that completely out of place . And still be creepy in its own way …. Yeah fuck no . I would’ve broken the record on hiking time for sure
If the story about the woman is true I feel really sad for her because maybe she was scared out of her wits with fear and the guy failed to help her from her horrible demise ... ?
Many tribes take scalps for trophies maybe they didn’t want gold taken (for religious purposes) so they at first tried to get prospectors away (sabotaging the boat) and I personally believe in ghosts and related stuff but maybe the woman had a hysteric breakdown or somethin
I want to say it is a cult that warships whatever turned that woman into a monster and they give the gold and heads for tribute and they just burn the body’s as a warning and it makes sense cause maybe the group of cult members came they killed the Brothers and then the other guy managed to get away they chased him and killed him and that is why his body was so far away and they didn’t find any tracks because the wind and the darkness covered them up and Sense the bodies were decomposed so it probably happened months before they found the bodies
This reminds me of the abandoned ghost town Portlock, Alaska. There were many ominous dismemberments until everyone fled. If you haven’t covered that yet, it would make for an interesting episode.
Another shocking thing is how the police just brushed everything off and didn’t make any connections at all even with plain evidence staring them in the face. Yeah sure bears just burned these bodies and then ate their heads 🙄
I know, 2 years does seem a very long time to us these days, but it wasn't so extreme back then. It was pretty standard for people to go off into the wild prospecting with little or no communication for at least a year.
if anything back then that was more the norm, than a weird thing, if u wanted to talk to someone they had to be right in front of you and they didnt have planes and cars to take them out of this extremely remote and isolated part of the world it took days, weeks, months just to get to where they wanted to prospect, if ur gonna invest that time to get there u better invest the time to get rich there

I don't think that valley wanted them walking away with its gold
UPDATE: the police seem hell bent on protecting whatever is in that valley
So.... National Parks.... Why?
The gold!!!!
They did this
Or they know that you can't take them on...in my mind...modern day, modern weapons...I think a party of 100 people armed with high powered semi-automatic weapons might be able to tame the headless valley...I mean in my mind anyway...but at the same time...that is some bad shit going on in that place..

This is the strange, dark, and mysterious story that started my MrBallen obsession!
The fact that the gold was always missing leads me to believe that the cause of death wasn't supernatural. Greed is a powerful motivator.
How do you explain the chick on all fours then?
@@chasemullins8753 Some dude made a story up to impress his kids when his trip to the middle of nowhere turned out super boring. Tbh, the supernatural elements of these kinds of stories never seem to require explanation - they could’ve just as easily been added later by ghost-story tellers.

Money is the root of all evil
Especially considering something felt off about her and the guy who saw her was afraid of what would happen if she found him.
wendigo was my first on hearing this, too.
I agree.Ty
Check out crater lake Oregon and the crazy stories there!!!! Sounds pretty similar 🤔 I live close. The stories are all true!
@@goodguyswearblack1338 what's very disturbing is the fact that only american's have folklore about skin walker/wendigo in the world and only american have stories of them being spotted. @@kevinpolk3088 Dahmer came after this but I still support this theory

Love me some @MrBallen ❤️ I listen at work and your stories make my day go by faster ! 😊
She became one of them lmfaooo
