Hey y’all! For all of you wondering who the crafter is in the video, it’s my apprentice Max. I thought I’d take a little break from being on screen and get behind the camera for this vid. Max is an excellent crafter and I’m so stoked to have him be a part of LKG!
Hi guys.. You're awesome. Everything you do it's amazing and beautiful...i simply love it. Excuse me but I have a "tecnical" question cuze I'm kind of lost doing this., I'm dying my messenger leather bag, and I've already applied all the color it needs. But I'll like to know what kind of sealing or final layer I need to finish the job because when I wear it...it left some dark spots on my shirt, so..I don't want to lead with this anymore cause I love my bag, but I can't use it. Please help.! 🆘 Thanks.

A lot of people are hating on the whole laser thing, but I think if it's a tool you have access to, you should be able to use it. You made the vector file and assembled/finished the strap, so it's still a hand made product. Personally, I loved everything about this!
The main reason to buy handcrafted leather goods is usually, that machines are bad at certain jobs. Like feeling the leather stiffness, sewing and glueing. Cutting is not one of them. If anything, machines are better at that than humans, The critical parts of the job have been made by hand to ensure best quality. So whatever one might call it, it is still high quality.
@@JonasNeumann6cutting is absolutely one of them when you’re burning the snot outta your leather, making it smell bad, and charging the same price as a handmade piece.
I recently received this excellent strap. I spent $30 to have it shipped all the way to France and it was worth it. Thank you Little King Goods for making such a high quality product!
I have been trying to make straps for my old watch which I got in 2012. I tried today but failed because I had not such tools. This is the most beautiful watch staps I have seen ever. Love from Pakistan
The issue I find with them is that they also require an internet connection to send the job to the laser. The software is cloud-based so if your internet is out for a time you cannot send any new jobs to the laser :(
hey! quick question of you don't mind.. What 5 prong punch would you suggest or do you use for Apple Watch bands? looking for one to try and make up some bands..
I have nothing to say further. Because it is an excellent work to me. I also love the “scan + cutting machine”, it is very helpful. To have that machine is a big dream in my life. Great work and I absolutely want to see and learn more from you Johnny
I use Herman Oak veg tan and I love using my glowforge. I was getting soot that was making my thread look bad, so I just cut a tiny hole, and then punch to the right size. Holes are perfect and clean. LKG I will order a piece of W&C and see what’s up, glad to see you posting again.
Just ante up the 10k to buy one and you can have a machine like this too! I’m sure you can create enough small batch pieces to buy one rather quickly too
What do you use for the interior of the watch strap? Just bought the plans and they are supper high quality and amazing! Keep it up pal and thank you for sharing!
if you need make few straps some patterns will help. How many time you need for making 40..80..100 straps? For big order of straps will help punch form
You don't need all this hardware, just some leatherwork hand tools like a steel rule, box cutter, divider, stitching chisel, edge beveller, piece of canvas for burnishing edges, hole punch, needles, bonded polyester/nylon thread and good leather - 1mm thick.
Hi , I did the same, but the leather looks very solid. When the strap bent, cracks formed on it. The leather I use is vegetable tanned leather. What do you think should I do to make it softer and easier to bend?
The 3 things i think of during this video: i dont think i could do this myself, okay this is starting to look expensive, wow thats beautiful. Great vid! Great piece!
my respect and appreciation because such a young man is of great value who has chosen such a noble craft as his profession. your knowledge is a rarity and a tremendous value, congratulations from the heart, your work and your knowledge is masterful. if I could, I would definitely buy such a strap from you. be proud of your work. heartfelt congratulations to you. with respect and appreciation, and with love: Peter from Hungary
Nice change to the channel, and Max is sure getting a quality education! I think I like traditional saddle stitching, but thats just me, wonderful looking result.
Hello, what are you sticking on the back of the leather? Do you sell the laser-ready version of the pattern? How many mm is the hole distance? Thank you.
I had some frog skin leather kind of small. So I thought I would trough together a watch band. There is a lot more to a little ol watch band than I gave it credit for. Order of operation very important and just the size of it like the retaining straps made things harder. It came out very nice but it wasn't just through a watch band together. Nice job thanks for sharing.

Agreed it’s no different from leather cutting dies
There is a difference in my experience and that's the "burned skin" smell of the leather.

No right or wrong. Seems old school no machinery, but handmade furniture utilizes tons of machinery.

What are your thoughts on the stitches across the strap ends making a perforated line like only stamps thereby weakening the leather?
I don’t think it matters at all with a watch strap especially with the thickness of leather I use.

If you don’t mind me asking. What is that white paper you put on-top of the leather
I would think it’s just to keep the spread of the laser burn from messing up the leather
Think it's a very wide tape. Have read that is used to prevent burn marks on leather.
Does the masking tape pull the finish off the leather?
