T2 gets the most play at my house and even with 1 game it’s got plenty of replay ability. This cab is worth every bit of $500 even though I paid $350 during the RC Willey sale a few months back. I got mine for $399 as well. I just kept checking in the beginning and got it back in July. The game is totally worth it if you are a big Arnold fan, Terminator 2 fan (both the arcade and movie) This was my first Arcade1Up machine I have seen other UA-camrs mod it even further with having the screen pushed to the back , painting the guns, the midway logos, additional red tape t molding around the sides on the cabinet and black tape where the marquee is which is pretty cool. I would love to see a T2 Pinball machine from Arcade1UP with 9 additional tables.
A1up all but said pinball is done. On a stream john d said they had no plans. He mentioned that he had no idea how any company doing pinball could be making any profit.
Just a FYI. I used to play this game all the time at an arcade while my parents went grocery shopping. It was the mid 90s and the arcade was on a military installation PX at For Lewis WA. now known a JBLM. The Uzi machine guns were both pre-molded in semi gloss black and the secondary rocket launcher - grenade button toward front of hand grip on left side was illuminated with a light red glow. I also recall it was $0.50 per play . The Uzi on the left for player one had force feedback vibration when firing - playing game the one on the right was not as it was labelled as player 2 and was intended to be a more advanced terminator team mate who did not feel the recoil of weapons. Neither Uzi had a cord attachment they were in a fixed static position on the console itself. MAN .. 43 Y.O. now and want this game for my media room soo badly. The Terminator Salvation full arcade shooter is epic as well I went to the local retro arcade around my area and they had the full size 45 LED screen with 2 full size assault rifles on extended cables for in hand use. Took me $30 bucks to beat but man it was funny when a 40 something guy is playing this game like a real life FPS shooter LOL kids moms are like.. come on Johnny this guy is weird. It was also cool because the arcade serves many adults so beer was on hand during this epic adventure.
Great video! I want Lethal Enforcers 1 & 2 so bad. Or Area 51 with Maximum Force! I could care less about House of the Dead, but hope they make it so the fans get what they want & hopefully we can get back to some more retro shooters like the ones I mentioned.
As of this writing, BestBuy's got a smoking deal for this game at $299. Because $700 definitely surpassed the line for my interest. I might get one at the price and I'm so glad to see your video on showing the guns can stand the test of time. (Unlike those Big Buck nerf guns that are as fragile as eggs.) Love the idea of getting a coin door. And cutting the bases for the cords to tuck into is a top-notch upgrade. First thing I did when I got a Simpsons with those coin doors was to drill in some holes behind the faux 'push buttons' to insert a small LED light set and it looks fantastic. And I'll check out your video on such a mod to this game to see how it compares.
Adding 2 action buttons for some bonus console games (ie the game based off the first movie, which still holds up, or even the T2 side scroller game) would have helped this cab. And of course, they’d have to pay a lot more for an Aerosmith license, but since it’s essentially the same game, sticking Revolution X on this would have been cool too.
I literally just bought one at Best Buy for $315 (7 June 2023). I have been wanting this game for a while but I never see them online for less than $650. I'm excited! Will receive it on Monday.
Every Arcade 1 Up reviewer at this point just gives a huge list of cons, shows you just how cheap every part of the machine looks and is built, tells you all the changes you have to make, a huge list of power tools and supplies you have to own or buy, just to fix its problems, and then at the end is like, I love it!
Hey Fox, great review and good modifications on your machine. I always had emulation errors on my machine. It's not fun as I am plagued with tearing and sound issues. I have two complete game plays - that is all. Unfortunately, it is a $700 piece taking up space in my arcade. Support never provided any real solution as they deemed the game as is. With poor emulation, I can't continue to purchase these machines at full price. Ashamed because I really like the company and the concept of these products. Again, great review and hope to see you on stream soon!
I got mine when it was on mega sale a few months back and it was only 400 bucks. And I play it a good bit. So I would say for what I paid it was worth it because it's easily the nicest looking cabinet I have. It really pops out when you come into my game room. Just waiting for my marquee upgrade to show and it will be really sick.

I've purchased the cabs I wanted this year and all I'm waiting for now is Time Crisis. I'm hoping this will come out this winter or spring. It depends on the price point if it will be a day one purchase or do I die on the inside waiting for a sale. Can't wait for your review of Time Crisis.
The licenses for the Time Crisis and Point Blank have been applied for through the FCC. These are the only facts and also through a reliable source they said we would get Time Crisis. They have been spot on with every cabinet that they leaked this summer. I believe either right around Christmas or early spring we will get it.
@@princetrophies They go on sale from time to time at that price point. I would definitely keep an eye out at BestBuy or other big retailers, but since it's so close to the holidays. I would believe after the holidays they'll try to move some inventory.

19kfox, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that iiRcade can acquire the license and put T2 on their machine. Like you, one game was a sticking point for me on this cabinet. Real estate is SO VALUABLE of a commodity in my Arcade space, that if I'm going to add a shooting cab, it has to have a pretty beefy variety. I originally had an Arcade1up Big Buck World in my main arcade space, because of it's robust variety of mini games, but the guns unfortunately stuck out too far when I added a center room cab into the room, so I had to move it into my smaller theater arcade space. With iiRcade's new Gold cab, and the ability to set the guns on its hidden back shelf, brings the possibility of a shooting cab back into my main arcade. I have no doubt that iiRcade has the savvy to bring more than one shooting game to their cab. Hopefully House of the Dead Overkill, perhaps? :) vgv
T2 was THE game I was waiting on... that and Revolution X. So yes I am still happy with it even through mine has the screen freezing issue that I had to fix myself.
They need to upgrade the Terminator 2 cabinet guns in addition to adding Terminator Salvation arcade game to it. Make the cabinet a XL Pro cabinet doesn't hurt
I've been playing T2 Arcade since it was first released as brand new in the actual arcade, on the Genesis (which really isn't that good) and on as an arcade rom since it was first fully emulated in 1999 or 2000ish, and was ecstatic once MAME was updated to make T2 play past the mid-game cutscene. I now have perfect screen settings to make my MAME emulator make the LCD look just like a Wells Garner screen. I love T2, but I don't think I could justify buying it as an Arcade1up.
If it wasn't for the slowdown, screen tearing and music issues I would have been satisfied. It's a beautiful looking piece of furniture but it just does not work the way it's supposed to.

Cruis'n USA w/ world, exotica, offroad challenge, San Fran. Rush, Rush the rock and Cali speed. Hydro thunder is my unicorn.

I picked this up at release for $700 as well. Easily the cab I play the most out of my 15, and it along with Ridge Racer and my pinball tables are usually the first games guests want to play. Totally worth it for me, and definetly one to consider whenever it's on sale. What issue were you having with the power switch? Mine was having a problem were the cab would randomly shut itself off every once in a while, but it only did it for a few days and hasn't done it again since in several months. I thought it might have been related to the switch, since it's got that weird squishy feeling to it rather than snapping into place like on all the other cabinets. Thanks for the vid!
I could have ordered one for 350 + tax, but just couldn't get passed that its only 1 game. I think they dropped the ball by not including say operation wolf and thunder with T2. I think that would be a good lineup since the real arcades were all the same style of mounted light guns.
Operation Wolf and Operation Thunderbolt are Taito, so including that in the same cab as a Midway cab is not really possible for A1UP. You really have to look at these things for the licensing issues first. So Wolf and Thunderbolt could be their own cabinet though. Lethal Enforcers I & II are Konami, so that could be another separate cabinet, Area 51/Maximum Force is Atari Games etc...
T2 the only shooter besides Time Crisis and House of the Dead that I wanted but I bought it at 399 because one game at that price was too good to pass up but I'm sure it'll go for 199 eventually
Good video Fox, and I agree with your assessment. I too pre-ordered my T2 cab at $699. I agree with you that the price point for the cab is probably $499, and that should be a no-brainer IMHO if you have any interest in the cab. I don't in any way feel ripped off for paying $699 though, as I feel this is a beautiful cabinet and is probably the most interesting and eye-catching cab in my game room so far. Even with only a single game, included I don't feel like it's intruding the game space, and is in no danger of being sold to make room for another, when the time comes.
I got mine from best buy for 399... I think it's worth that if you collect these... Anything over 400$ being just the 1 game I don't think I would do it... But that's me....
Mine is a Flaming pile of trash. Had problems and was sent a new pcb, now the screen just blinks white, black, red and blue. Support has sent me a pcb, monitor, ribbon cables and power supply. Still blinking screen, any idea on what I should do? I know arcade1up won't help a regular joe unless I'm some jack ass influencer....
Here in the UK I bought a Cab which has over 20 systems included, which holds literally thousands of games. I paid £750. Bargain. Uses emulation station (Retropie). Fantastic. But I could never buy a Cab which holds just one game. For me that has no longevity appeal
When you consider the Arcade1up cabs are emulated (which are usually never 100%, including from what I've heard this game) that's really the way to go.
I have room for three more in my room. Help me choose. Big buck or T2 for a gun game. Turtles or golden ax for beat em up, and my third maybe ridge racer? I currently have big blue, golden T 3d, NBA jam, and Mrs PAC man with galaga and stuff. Thanks for your help. I'm very curious how these faux arcade machines will hold up over 10+ years. Are these designed for the long term? Or will most of them be in the landfill?
I need to know though, where did you get the official arcade1up coin door??? Ive only ever seen them on eBay for crazy money. I don't know why arcade1up doesn't just sell them as add ons.

Does anyone else have issues with the audio constantly popping? I just built this yesterday, so everything is brand new, but during gameplay the audio consistently pops every minute or so, and it's honestly pretty annoying. It also does it during the attract mode, even when the audio completely cuts out, there are still popping noises. Is that a problem with the emulation, or are my speakers messed up? I appreciate any feedback. Thanks!
These games natively played at a different refresh rate from the screens these ship with. So sound popping inevitably happens due to the emulator forcing the game to run at the wrong refresh rate. I don't own one of these so i am speculating but it seems likely this happens on all these things. I have used MAME and FBA to emulate this stuff for years and sound popping has always been an issue emulating old arcade system that ran on displays at weird refresh rates. Really you need a variable refresh rate monitor to fix this but that costs $.
Off subject Fox but I have a question?On your NFL BLITZ have you every been playing a NFL BLITZ game and after a qtr or during halftime has the game reset back to the Home Screen? I’m asking cause this has happened to me numerous times and will be returning my cab due to this issue. Just want to see if you or anyone has seen this issue or if I just got a busted cab. Thanks for your time.
@@DJSwagz yeah that’s not the problem. I always start the game with a full 4 qtrs filled so all footballs 🏈 are filled cause you have that option at the beginning so still resets sometimes at halftime or third qtr so just don’t know

YES, the toothpick mod! 😂 I had to do the same thing with my Szabo marquee. Got the cab for $399 on Amazon and that's all it's worth IMO 👊🏻

The $300 I got it for is worth the mod for up coming BufStuff. Looks so much cooler when you recess the screen. That bezel plexi is cool.

The original game had a mirror in the monitor space, and what you where seeing was actually the mirror not the
main screen

Had same issue with the On/Off switch. Unplugged the unit and plugged it back in (3 times) - haven’t had an issue since. Go figure.

I could have ordered one for 350 + tax, but just couldn't get passed that its only 1 game. I think they dropped the ball by not including say operation wolf and thunder with T2. I think that would be a good lineup since the real arcades were all the same style of mounted light guns.
Operation Wolf and Operation Thunderbolt are Taito, so including that in the same cab as a Midway cab is not really possible for A1UP. You really have to look at these things for the licensing issues first. So Wolf and Thunderbolt could be their own cabinet though. Lethal Enforcers I & II are Konami, so that could be another separate cabinet, Area 51/Maximum Force is Atari Games etc...

T2 the only shooter besides Time Crisis and House of the Dead that I wanted but I bought it at 399 because one game at that price was too good to pass up but I'm sure it'll go for 199 eventually

Good video Fox, and I agree with your assessment. I too pre-ordered my T2 cab at $699. I agree with you that the price point for the cab is probably $499, and that should be a no-brainer IMHO if you have any interest in the cab. I don't in any way feel ripped off for paying $699 though, as I feel this is a beautiful cabinet and is probably the most interesting and eye-catching cab in my game room so far. Even with only a single game, included I don't feel like it's intruding the game space, and is in no danger of being sold to make room for another, when the time comes.
Also, I think this cab should have had online lobbies for multiplayer.
I got mine from best buy for 399... I think it's worth that if you collect these... Anything over 400$ being just the 1 game I don't think I would do it... But that's me....
Mine is a Flaming pile of trash. Had problems and was sent a new pcb, now the screen just blinks white, black, red and blue. Support has sent me a pcb, monitor, ribbon cables and power supply. Still blinking screen, any idea on what I should do? I know arcade1up won't help a regular joe unless I'm some jack ass influencer....
Here in the UK I bought a Cab which has over 20 systems included, which holds literally thousands of games. I paid £750. Bargain. Uses emulation station (Retropie). Fantastic. But I could never buy a Cab which holds just one game. For me that has no longevity appeal
When you consider the Arcade1up cabs are emulated (which are usually never 100%, including from what I've heard this game) that's really the way to go.

Does anyone else have issues with the audio constantly popping? I just built this yesterday, so everything is brand new, but during gameplay the audio consistently pops every minute or so, and it's honestly pretty annoying. It also does it during the attract mode, even when the audio completely cuts out, there are still popping noises. Is that a problem with the emulation, or are my speakers messed up? I appreciate any feedback. Thanks!
These games natively played at a different refresh rate from the screens these ship with. So sound popping inevitably happens due to the emulator forcing the game to run at the wrong refresh rate. I don't own one of these so i am speculating but it seems likely this happens on all these things. I have used MAME and FBA to emulate this stuff for years and sound popping has always been an issue emulating old arcade system that ran on displays at weird refresh rates. Really you need a variable refresh rate monitor to fix this but that costs $.

Off subject Fox but I have a question?On your NFL BLITZ have you every been playing a NFL BLITZ game and after a qtr or during halftime has the game reset back to the Home Screen? I’m asking cause this has happened to me numerous times and will be returning my cab due to this issue. Just want to see if you or anyone has seen this issue or if I just got a busted cab. @@DJSwagz yeah that’s not the problem. I always start the game with a full 4 qtrs filled so all footballs 🏈 are filled cause you have that option at the beginning so still resets sometimes at halftime or third qtr so just don’t know
It needs a level skip function, the levels are just too darn long and repetitive. The game itself doesn't hold up well today.
It was a quarter muncher in the 90's. I knew it was shit then and it's still shit now.
