I use this same bag system and I like it a lot. Like you it makes it easy to customize each type of bag for the adventure I'm going on. I just alter the contents to fit the need. Because the bags are not waterproof, I make sure they are inside my pack inner bag which is waterproof. If you live in a very dry environment you may not need the waterproof pack inner. Common sense. Good job Luke.
I started using packing cubes when I traveled for work every week, and now I still use them to store off season clothes. I would love some heavy duty ones for camping gear.
I haven’t used them with camping or hiking, but I do use them in regular travel and love them. But my wife doesn’t think it keeps her more organized. I think it also saves space. So I find them helpful. This brand seems good for the price.
I learned to use those when doing field exercises with the Marines. The sharp guys had a Force Protection Gear XL, and had it packed internally with these cubes. And as they created dirty clothes, they'd hang them in a mesh bag outside of the luggage. We'd be able to find things in the total dark with those cubes. It also helps when you do a pre-mission inspection of your gear. Easy to do a count.
Wow ,now that can walk again and walk good and beginning to build up camping equipment at a slow pace as I will be looking a vehicle later this year and have a service dog and start my dream of camping again like before the lightning strike melted a plastic part in my L4L5 disc in July of 2000 (sitting in a house)putting me in a wheelchair for years ,you must I so appreciate learning from you and the many people who share the experiences on your site ,thank you and thank you all who share your knowledge out of kindness.!!!

I have been using Eagle Creek kit bags for 10+ years... They use plastic windows instead of mesh which I prefer and after a waterproofing spray they hold up well in rain storms assuming you don't submerge them. I have abused them for travel and camping/hiking.. they are pricier, but worth every penny so far. I do prefer dry bag style kit bags when I am in extremely wet terrain. They work just as well in my experience and come in many shapes, colors, and sizes.

I just had that exact set delivered. I searched for waterproof kit bags and those came up,they aren't waterproof so I will use either a military pack liner or a dry bag in my pack. Thanks for your review.

I have the first bag kit you showed, got it several months ago and it's served me well. Just to be on the safe side I also got a set of dry bags to supplement, even though it rarely rains in my neck of the woods. Thanks this review, I agree with you 100%. Stay safe out there Luke.
I do have a compression packing cube set I use for travel, but for backpacking, I usually use one bag for clothes, one Dutch zip cube for a dity bag, and that's it. I don't like a bunch of pockets/pouches on my backpack, and don't use a lot of bags in my pack. For travel, packing cubes are very useful. For backpacking and camping, I find them less needed.
I only use 2 small bags to keep my clothes dry and my "cold pack" dry. Cold pack is my buff/gloves/beanie dry. The rest goed in see trough foodgrade packs that you can buy in IKEA. Cheap, durable, many sizes and ultra lightweight. It keeps things organised, super recognisable and ...cheap as hell
I've got Eagle Creek gear. 10-20 years old. I've also got a heavy duty plastic zip pouch even older. Or 2? I had 3, but 1 zipper corroded shut. Bought at K Mart so long ago I've forgotten when!
I saw you using these packing cubes in a video a while back, and I loved the organization. I researched them and purchased them on Amazon, and I’m thoroughly happy with them. A good bit of kit
You got a good price on your set. I have a non-camping packing cube set very similar but only 4 cubes each a different size and that cost the same as your set. I pack my luggage with those and like them. Thanks for the review for use of an outdoors set as you have reviewed here. Good idea.
I think these bags will do great in my small camper. I was going to use totes but these will allow me to pack things and know what is where. Thanks Luke. Stay safe and God bless. Cat logo, eh, not so much but not a deal breaker.
At my age and having back issues, I moved away from hard totes - unless it's permanent storage that I won't be hauling in and out of my home every time. Plus I can cram a bag into a smaller space, creating more room. You'd be surprised how much organization and space you lose with hard bins / totes. Plus the added weight to your back and vehicle. Cubes fit better under the seat, hidden storage areas under the floor (if you have it). I don't have a tear drop camper, but I can imagine these working great in the limited storage holes and shelves.
I have been using a Hidden Woodsman Possibles ouch as my primary kit bag, but I am in the market for for a second bag for electronics. I’ll take a look at the bag. Day 78 of chemo, and still doing ok. 🤙

Hi Luke! This set of bags seems to give great value! Sure, you probably won't use the largest ones for camping or backpacking, but they would be GREAT for organizing clothes and other items while traveling as you pointed out!
I checked out their store, these are luggage organizer. A for Jacket, B for Pants, C for Shirt, D for Misc items, E for socks and F for shoes. The name Mouhoso, is Mou (cat) Ho ( tiger) So (Beast), funny name even as a Chinese name...means Feline animal.
Luke, can you show us how you organize your whole pack. I notice when you go you have certain things on top that you use first. that would be a great tutorial video.
I’ve never been so desperate to find something that I’d need a set of kit bags tbh, my backpack has a dry bag for the main pouch and two for the side pouches and that’s enough for me, plus my stuff is kept dry. My stuff is organised to the point I only have to go through the side pouches or bag lid to find stuff and the main pouch is bedding with quick grab stuff on top. Why do people feel the need to quickly access everything, there are only so many things you’ll need to grab in an emergency and they live where they’re easily accessible. I’m never in a rush to access stuff out in the woods, heck taking my time about everything and chilling is why I’m out there.
Yeah, more ridiculously expensive stuff we just don’t need lol there comes a point in purchasing camping gear where you have basically covered it all. Everything else is just overkill
For a way cheaper option, IKEA sells a luggage organizing bag kit with 3 sized bags included for only $6, called 'Rensare'. They are way lighter weight and of good sizes for my gear. They don't feature see through mesh, but for $6, you get a lighter weight option (3oz for 3 bags total) in perfect sizes.
I've been waiting on your review on this product Luke, because when you first introduced it I was interested in it and I need something like this to compartmentalize all my gear and for my meals and drink mixes and coffee and lighting and cordage.
Those are really nice...I wouldn't mind having them. I already bought the ultralight (dynama?) ones you love and reviewed. They are VERY nice and I love them.
I also use a bag by topic and they have clear, thick, plastic which I do prefer over mesh. But I like the letters. To solve ID issue I use different colour bags. Nice review though.
Hi Christopher. I had the same experience here in NB when I tried the link. Instead, I just typed in the title for a google search and Ali Express came up as $57 CAD, so I ordered a set just a few minutes ago
I don't like the fact that these bags aren't waterproof. Having to put all of these into a big waterproof bag just adds unnecessary weight to your pack.
Agree with you. Whats the point to the risc of mousture/rain in the bag over the pros to be able to look inside the bag. No thanks rather go for waterproof bags in different colours to seperate your gear. Sorry but i dont get this at all
I have to agree. . I also use zip loc bags, because they keep items dry and is easily see through. Prefer the freezer type zip locs. I do carry a small emergency bag that's red to get to fast if needed, plus a small hard case for my 4 pack 18650 batteries I prefer to use for my light and small fan, if I decide to carry it. BUT, I also don't hike much anymore, but car camp or go camp grounds with friends and/or Family, so weight isn't my concern.
Ziplocs are good. Osprey stuff sacks are also good and you can hang them as a bear bag too. Color code them to help you find what you need quickly. Very lightweight and waterproof
If you are looking for waterproof bags, especially for electronics, check for bags for photography gear. I have some with clear panels to see inside. At times, I use the USMC coyote tan waterproof bags for things that need to be protected from water. I also use colored pull tabs on zippers for organization if I can't color cordinate my bags.
Nice looking bags but I have never been much of a fan of netting and certainly not as the primary cover. True that you can see into them but then what is the point of the large letter labels. Thanks for the review of these.... Half my gear i bought or deleted from my wish list, is based on your reviews. I love packing cubes and other bags over bins for car / tuck camping. Lighter, can stash a bag / cube into more spaces over a bulky hard bin. I started out with the kelty deluxe kitchen. Then got the kelty roll up for my toiletries, bug spray and thermacell. Then I bought the kelty car-go box for ny lights and ither stuff. I put a review of these (2 videos) on my channel. I will now be ordering these for my clothes and camera equipment organization. As far as not being water resistant/ proof.... Zip kock bags for further organization works well. Most car / truck campers will have these in their vehicle/ rv and only pull out what they need. Most true backpackers (not day hikers) will have waterproof back backpacks and / or rain hoods for their pack. So i don't think this is a huge deal. Instead of zip lock bags, they do have small dry bags that you could use also for futher organization inside these cubes.
So, by my calculations, you are carrying 24.3 oz just in bags to organize your stuff? That's over a pound and a half just in bags! I'm all for organization, but I tend to use the lightest weight bags that will fit the bill and just use different colors to coordinate my stuff. Or I use the organization features that come with my backpack so I don't have to add weight. I understand that you're not trying for ultralight, but this seems like unnecessary added weight. They arent waterproofed? Nuts!
4:46 Pickle rick!
all cool!
Similar to my eBags packing cubes, but probably more rugged for gear rather than clothing. With a cat logo you think the name should be "Meowmeow".
I can't say I carry so much 'stuff' that I can't remember where I packed it... and Im on a motorcycle with good size panniers...
Beans and sausages.
Mauhoso, when put into Google Translate comes back with it being from Japanese, and meaning "Dancing Thin". I would guess the real meaning is that elegant thin travelling packages. Maybe a Japanese speaker could do a better, or I could be totally out to lunch.
Bought a set.
Not impressed. I don’t see the need to carry kits. Backpacks have several pockets for the same reason. But to each their own.
That's alot of extra bulk and weight for no important reason + not waterproof.
But are you a "Pro" like Luke? snark
Except for the reason he described.
@@andrew-ij1or importance has different meaning to different people / reasons for being outdoors. As a thru hiker I don't need my stuff to be camo or alphabetically labeled. Its all faff to me. Im not rolling into a campsite in a truck loaded with gear like he is. Im just not a pro like Luke.
Huge respect, Luke, but the term "newbs" always sounds a little derogatory, and won't encourage novices to engage or ask questions if they need advice or are unsure about anything.
In China you can buy this kit system in 17 dollars hahahaha really good brand even in china very few people knows about this brand
hey Luke, you used to put the metric "translation" on screen, while you talk ounces and what not... Is it possible that you resume translating for the rest of us( the world?)
I liked the style but...the mesh part i Don't like.Dust will go through them.
Helpful.
Purchased.
Thanks.
Do they sell individual bags? Bag E looks like a good fit for a Matilda or Alice ruck pocket.
Hey, Luke! Question: How large of a backpack would I need to use all six bags? Thanks, Mate! Peace!
Btw, I always enjoy, appreciate and trust your gear reviews. They are the best!
The CDC says it's Lyme Disease Prevention Month. Just so you know.
regular packing cubes trying to related to tactical wannabes : " Kit bag"
Did your wife make you do this video? Hehe, joking, but my lady has something like these for our luggage. Definitely helps
More expensive stuff you literally don’t need
These aren't even remotely expensive, they're well below market average. Individual Dyneema and XPac ones regularly go for what this whole set costs.
seems a deal to me
Who else finds the following quote from Luke very condescending and rather presumptuous? "Kit Bags are just one example of what separates experienced backpackers and campers from newbies". So people who don't use kit bags are some kind of inexperienced knuckle dragging newbies? Why does Luke think only his opinion is the only valid opinion? Why not encourage and promote a variety of opinions rather than attempting to pontificate to us?
Too heavy, not waterproof.
Just use some Ziploc freezer bags and drop the poser gear fetish nonsense.
Luke when will we see Susie ourgirls like to see from a woman t
LOL - This is from a "pro" that hikes a few hundred yards from his truck to make a video. For that, a Hefty trash bag would be sufficient.
